Spin-offs don't always work, but this series certainly looks like it is going to if this first one is anything to go by. I really like Carrie Ann's style of writing and in this book she spins us a tale about Kenzie Owens was in an abusive relationship for years and has finally made the break and Dare Collins, a former cop turned bartender. They meet when Dare's father hires Kenzie, a fact that Dare is none to pleased about. The attraction is there but as both of these two have had bad experiences in the past neither one of them wants to move forward together.
How their relationship develops and how they come to terms with their individual past and their combined future makes for a great reading experience. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
I read an ARC of this book and am voluntarily writing my review.

I enjoyed Dare and Kenzie's story. Loved the fact that Kenzie stood up for herself despite her past. Kenzie has been hired to manage and renovate the inn by Dare's parents; however, Dare has not been told and doesn't take it well when he finds out. Kenzie has a past that doesn't want to stay in the past. I loved the way Dare's family rallies around one another and accepts Kenzie into their embrace. While I liked Dare's character, I didn't love him. I felt his running scared and creating a situation towards the end when it came to his son was a bit dramatic; however, he redeemed himself a bit with the groveling. I would have liked to see more closure when it came to Kenzie's brother. I think that could have been fleshed out a little more. All-in-all, I enjoyed the story and will be looking forward to the next in the series!

Whiskey Secrets! A town named Whiskey is the location for this new series. Dare owns a bar and a restaurant under his parents business. Kenzie is the new innkeeper on his parent's hotel and he is not too happy about it. It's a very sexy tale about two hurt souls with their own set of secrets not searching for anything serious but finding it anyways. It made me smile a lot and also shed some tears. It's a bit of an emotional rollercoaster but the ending is so sweet it's worth the angst. The Collins are a close family and I think that's lovely. Dare has had rough times and his family has been his rock. Kenzie on the other hand has had no one but she is strong and determined to make Whiskey her new home. I like Dare's brothers and I want to know more about Fox and Loch. I am loving this Whiskey flavored series already!!

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "WHISKEY SECRETS" Absolutely a terrific start to a great series this has a fantastic storyline extremely well written and so worth the read and the characters are totally awsome. The chemistry between Dare Collins former cop turned bartender knows his Whiskey and his women the first time he see's Kenzie Owens he's drawn to her but doesn't know shes going to be his new innkeeper for the the Whiskey Inn above his bar that his parents own and run. This is a must read there are some twists and turns, suspense, drama, betrayal, secrets, abuse so much is going on you can't put this book down it draws you in from the very first page to the end I definitely recommend to read can't wait till the next book come out it should be Fox's story I think and another great story I'm sure.

Finding love again after suffering devastating hurt and loss., finding redemption.
Dare Collins and McKenzie Owens are both keeping secrets. Their attraction for each other helps them face those demons together while finding each other.
Dare and Kenzie take a journey where they find themselves as well.
The hot level is scorching with the Collins brothers, which you met in the Montgomery Ink series.
You’ll have to read the book to find out more.
I have never been disappointed by anything Carrie Ann Ryan has written and I wasn’t disappointed with this book. I highly recommend this book.
You don’t have to read the Montgomery Ink series to read this, but I guarantee you’ll go back and read it after this.

Whiskey Secrets is the first book in the new Whiskey and Lies series. It offers an interesting plot and engaging well developed characters. A storyline that is packed with emotions and a steamy romance powers this well written book. This book focuses on Dare and Kenzie. I really liked these two. They strike sparks off each other from their first meeting. Both of these characters have heavy baggage from their pasts that they are struggling to deal with and neither is looking for romance but they can not resist the pull they feel toward each other. A great cast of supporting characters add depth and interest. A wonderful read and great start to this new series. I'm posting an voluntary review after reading an ARC copy of this book.

With Whiskey Secrets Carrie Ann is introducing us to another close knit family. The Collinses, family to Tabby who is engaged to Alex Montgomery, are protective Alphas. When Kenzie is hired to run the family Inn she becomes family to be protected. Kenzie and middle son Dare butt heads at first meeting, but maybe that's just a byproduct of something else? I absolutely could not put this down till I finished it. The small town of Whiskey Pennsylvania and the residents we meet grab your heart and your imagination. Kenzie and Dare with all of their baggage make you want to just root for them with all of your heart. I can't wait for Fox's story.

Wow, wow, wow!!! This is by far my favorite Carrie Ann Ryan book to date. Any romance fan will love this story. It is so real that Kenzi feels like your new BFF and the Collins men are the boys next door you crushed on in high school, or maybe are still crushing on. Kenzie and Dare have instant, wonderful chemistry and a love story that will keep you reading into the wee hours of the night. I couldn't put this one down for a second. And I simply cannot wait for the next two in this series. I know Fox is the lead in the next book but Loch and Ainsly have me waiting with bated breath. I requested an ARC of this book so that I could post an honest review.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy from Goodreads giveaway for my unbiased opinion of the book. Dare Collins runs the family bar and restaurant is called for an early morning family meeting when he gets kicked in the stomach by his parents by hiring a new innkeeper Kenzie Owens. When push comes to shove they reach an agreement to keep the peace. The sparks fly! When Kenzie's past catches up with her, Dare comes to the rescue. I couldn't put this book down. I loved every hot and steamy minute of it.

Dare and Kenzie's story kicks off this new spinoff of the Montgomery family series. We met the 3 Collins brothers briefly in the Montgomery series. Dare owns a bar and restaurant and is a single dad who doesn't get to be with his son as much as he wants. Kenzie is the new innkeeper hired by his parents to run heir inn. The sparks between the 2 are fun to watch. Neither is looking for a relationship and are trying to put their pasts behind them. Their chemistry is hot. I also love the interaction between brothers Dare, Fox and Loch. The Collins are all about family.

No surprise here, this was a helluva way to kick off this spinoff series! It had so many components that I love - a single dad, feisty heroine, great family element, small town setting, emotion, suspense, and heat. Dare and Kenzie were so lovable and the push and pull between them, added with the mystery and danger of Kenzie's past, made Whiskey Secrets a real page turner for me. Not only that, I CAN'T WAIT for the next two books in this series! 4.5 out of 5 wine glasses.

This is the first book in the Montgomery Ink spin off and it features Dare, Tabby’s brother. I was excited to read more about Tabby’s family and this doesn’t disappoint, and I can’t wait to read more about Fox and Loch. I do feel this one read differently from Ms Ryan’s other books. This story was a slow burn and showed how resilient people are when it comes to healing and finding love. I also loved Ms Ryan’s acknowledgment about Dr Hubby.

I was so glad that these three brothers are getting their own books, and I have to say that this first book Dare and Kenzie was definitely a great way to start off this new spin-off series. I loved how Dare and Kenzie first started that fact that they were attracted to each other but didn't want to mix business with pleasure but then couldn't help themselves was so fun to read. Dare and Kenzie were clearly made for each other and I was so happy with how the book ended, I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Good follow up to the Montgomery Ink series. The story was slow moving at first as the family dynamics and characters are introduced. This is Dare and Kenzie's story which revolves around their antagonistic beginning when Kenzie begins working as the family innkeeper above the bar. They are both trying to start over and work together while sparks are flying between them. There is just a small bit of light suspense. Overall a good read.

Kenzie was hired to do a job.
Too bad if Dare does not like it!
Even thought they share some chemistry, she is trying to keeps things professional.
Yeah! That did not work.
Now they have to make their professional + personal relationship work.
Add an "ex" from each side, and drama will issue.
I loved the storytelling + the characters.

Dare didn't think he deserved happiness after losing his partner and not being allowed to spend much time with his son Nate until Kenzie walked into his bar and life. Kenzie has an abusive ex husband and she doesn't think she can move onto a new relationship until she meets Dare. This a nice start to a new series. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Dare and Kenzie's story was FANTASTIC! Their chemistry jumped off the page and their story kept me hooked from page 1. Kenzie was running from an ex and Dare is an ex cop. Their introduction was not easy, but their love was strong. This spin off of the Montgomery Ink series is fantastic and I can't wait to see Dare's siblings fall in love. Definitely recommend this book.

This series revolves around Tabby's brothers (Loch, Dare and Fox) whom we met in INK EXPOSED.
Dare Collins, a former cop turned bartender who wasn't to pleased when his family hired a new innkeeper for the inn above his bar and restaurant.
He had a son by the name of Nathan. He wasn't looking for any kind of commitment not after the way things went down between him and his ex.
Kenzie Owens was in an abusive relationship for years, she finally left that toxic part of her life when she decided to take a job working for the Collins. Whiskey, Pennsylvania was going to be her fresh start.
Meeting her bosses' son Dare for the first time was an intriguing event. There were some hostility from the man which was understandable given that his parents took a business decision without consulting the family beforehand.
She knew how he felt but she wasn't about to let him ruining her new beginning. Dare was attracted to her and vice versa. Kenzie's was still haunting her past but she wasn't willing to share her burden with anyone yet.
Little did she knew that Dare was very observant and he knew that something scared her. As they worked close, they saw a side of each other that they mutually respected and admired.
Kenzie and Dare grew closer on a more intimate level and they both shared their painful pasts with one another. Just as they thought all was right in the world again, Kenzie's past came back to try and destroy her now and her future.
Loved the bond between the Collins siblings. They were loyal, true and loved unconditionally. They kind of reminded me of the Montgomerys and the Gallaghers.
Both Dare and Kenzie never intended to fall in love but they did. It happened when they least expected. They had to figure out what they wanted and go after it. Which they did, it was great to see them get their HEA.
WHISKEY SECRETS is the first installment in Carrie Ann Ryan's WHISKEY AND LIES series. It was enchanting, alluring and intoxicating.
P. S. Loved Carrie Ann Ryan's dedication to Daniel...It was bittersweet yet of the most touching one I've read in a long time.
Looking forward to what comes next! ;)

This is book 1 in an offshoot series from Montgomery Ink. It's about Dare Collins (who is one of Tabby's brothers-we met her and them in Ink Exposed) and Kenzie Owens. Dare is the owner of the bar and restaurant that is located below his parent's Inn. He was a police officer before he took over the running of the bar until something horrific happened that he has never truly gotten over. Kenzie is the new Innkeeper that his parents have hired so they can retire and start enjoying things now that they are older. She is hoping for a new start, away from the situation that made her lose her sense of safety and her confidence. She's hoping the distance will allow to actually move on with her life.
I loved this book! You can never go wrong with a Carrie Ann Ryan book and this one is definitely no exception! Dare is a character that you can easily fall in love with. He has so much he holds inside and just doesn't understand himself. Even from the beginning when he is being rude and mean, you get the feeling that he is just struggling and can't handle anything else at this point. Kenzie though, she was the one I truly fell in love with. After everything she went through (and still goes through) with her ex, she is such a strong woman! She still manages to put one foot in front of the other and to try to move and be the person she knows she can be. Even when she isn't sure of herself and feels like it will never get better, she still gets up and does what she needs to do. Once they get together and figure out exactly what they mean to each other? I loved it! They are perfect for each other, they manage to hold each other up when one isn't feeling strong enough. Along with just being able to listen and understand that life is hard but they are there for whatever the other needs. I can't wait to see where we go with the other brothers, although I really want to read Loch's story! He intrigues me!!

This story starts a new series with a connection to the Montgomeries. I will miss the Montgomery famaily, but I must admit is was getting a bit hard to keep them straight!
Dare Collins has bought out the bar and restaurant that is attached to the building where his parents run an inn in his hometown of Whiskey, Pennsylvania. A tragedy has caused him to lose his commitment to his former job as a police officer and he believes he is pretty good at his new occupation. He is regretful that he only gets to have his small son, Nathan, one weekend a month, but he tells himself he is lucky to still be alive to know his child at all.
Dare and his brothers, Lochlan and Fox, are surprised to learn that their parents have hired an innkeeper to take over the running of their business. Kenzie Owens is running from a bad marriage and feels lucky to have found a job where she can once again put her skills to work and leave her problems in the big city. She is not surprised that Dare is upset by his parents' decision to keep her hiring a secret until the last minute. She also knows that Dare is trouble and she needs to stay away from him. Dare may have a lot of problems, but the new innkeeper doesn't need to be one of them, does she?.
Dare and Kenzie's story is full of secrets and passion. I know you will enjoy learning about this new family and I am sure we will see the Montgomery clan again since Dare's sister Tabby is marrying Alex in the near future.

I can’t say enough good things about this book! Carrie Ann Ryan did it again!! This is Dare and Kenzie’s story. Dare is an owner of two businesses that have been in his family for years. They live in a small town named Whiskey. He is Tabby’s older brother if you’ve read Montgomery Ink then your familiar with her. Kenzie is just moving to Whiskey to get away from a troubled past that she’s hoping to avoid at all costs and she hopes her new surroundings and new job will help her manage this.
Kenzie is hired as the new Innkeeper for Dare’s family who also run the hotel that is connected to the bar and restaurant owned by Dare. However his parents failed to tell him and the rest of his brothers and sister about their plans to retire and let’s just say Dare is not thrilled by the news or with Kenzie whom seems to be to uptight and stuck up for Dare. They butt heads right off the bat and more than once. Neither seem to like the other but secretly they both can’t keep from thinking of one another.
The chemistry is a magnetic pull between them and fate won’t let them escape so easily no matter what each of them try to avoid its clutches.
Loved the dedication at the beginning of the book! It was amazing and he will always be with you Carrie Ann and I’m sure he is proud of the finished book and always of you.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of Whiskey Secrets.

Whiskey secrets is book 1in the whiskey and lies series. Being a spin-off off of the Montgomery ink series this book had to make a big entrance and it did! I adored this book, and all the new characters. It also has cameos from certain characters in Montgomery ink which does give it a lovely sense of continuity. Dare Collins, is a ridiculously sexy, brooding, ex-cop who now runs the family bar and restaurant. Kenzie is here to take over the inn right above Dares bar, which has been run by his parents up till now, but she is also seeking a new start.
Starting off fighting with each other the two quickly realise there is more between them than just hostility. This is a must read and it can be read as a standalone from the MI series. 12/10

Whiskey Secrets is the first book in the Whiskey and Lies Series. It is a spin off of the Montgomery ink series and is about Tabby’s brothers. Dare Collins is a former come and is now a bartender and has a son. Kenzie Owens is the new innkeeper for Dares family business. They clash from their first meeting but have a crazy attraction to each other! Neither wants a relationship, but what will happen when emotions get involved? Will they get a happily ever after?

I love this authors books! They are always real and steamy. This is a spin-off of the Montgomery series and I was looking forward to reading it. Dare and Kenzie's story is realistic and sometimes frighteningly so. Well written and fast paced it was a great read. I received a copy of this book from the author. I freely leave this honest review. If you love hot romance then do yourself a favor and get this one.

This was a fantastic read! Dare and Kenzie are both trying to figure out how to move forward in their lives and don't want any complications. The attraction between them is undeniable and the sparks fly! Each has their past to deal with but when they do it together it's even better! I couldn't put the book down!! Can't wait for book 2!!
Please RateWhiskey Secrets (Whiskey and Lies Book 1)
Whiskey Secrets has a little bit of everything that I’ve come to love in romance novels- protective hero, strong heroine, single Dad and enemies to lovers with a pinch of suspense. An all around enjoyable read!
