I liked the story and the writing. Half way thru I was crying and did not want to continue as the story twisted and I was afraid. Biting my lips I continued and now I am crying because I am so happy.

So good!!! So, so, so good. The dialogue is witty and funny. The characters are a dream. The story has you sucked in at the first sentence of the first chapter. The sex scenes aren't particularly hot, but the plot twists and unpredictable details keep your attention. I wish there was a sequel!

Friends-to-lovers stories are popular for a reason, but after a while you start to wonder if anyone can put a fresh spin on it. Lauren Layne has done it here, and she did it so well that I believed Parker and Ben were a real couple. This story is a slow burn with enough tension to keep the reader engaged and plenty of swoon-worthy moments to satisfy the romantic in you.

Very cute story about Ben and Parker who have been best friends for six years. Parker has been with Lance for 5 years and Ben just sleeps with who ever he is attracted to. Parker gets dumped by Lance and she realizes that all the men she meets do not interest her. She asks Ben to be friends with benefits. They realize that they like the new arrangement but they both realize they want more but they do not talk about it. Parker then decides to give Lance another chance knowing she does not want to me with him. Ben and Parker do not want their relationship to suffer but it does because they are not being honest about their feelings.

Blurred Lines is a wonderful stand-alone story written by Lauren Layne. In her own unique way and style, Layne tells the story of Parker Blanton and Ben Olsen, two best friends since college, who are there for each other through thick and thin. Presently, they are living together, but are platonic in their relationship. After Parker's boyfriend dumps her, she contemplates Ben's lifestyle of sex without dating or emotions. After having some trouble with this concept, she goes to him, asking for his help. The two friends start a no-strings-attached arrangement. This goes on for a while, until real feelings come into play on both their parts. Ben and Parker have trouble dealing with this and that's when things get even more interesting...
Parker's ex-boyfriend decides he wants her back and Ben catches the eye of another gorgeous woman. Laughter, friendship, fights, mixed feelings, tears, breakups, and makeups complete this book. And the story ends with a win for love in the all-consuming force kind of way.
I really loved the way this story was written, just as I love Ms. Layne's Stiletto series. This book mirrors When Harry Met Sally. It answers the question everyone probably asks, "Can men and women be JUST FRIENDS when sex is involved?"
Parker and Ben's relationship was very interesting to say the least. It was funny and inviting. I felt like I knew them. Like I could be friends with them. And I wanted to be. Yes, they had their problems. On occasion, they didn't listen to each other and made a situation worse than it could have been. Jealousy and anger and frustration all happens throughout their story. And I can't really blame them. When there is love in the mix, a person doesn't think clearly at all. They think that they can sleep with each other and it won't affect their friendship, which is so idiotic. Sex without feelings hardly ever works. The line between friendship and true love ALWAYS blurs in some way or fashion. And in Parker and Ben's case, they fell apart from the other, but still came back together in the end. Just as a happily ever after story should be. Layne's stories never disappoint when I want to read a good HEA book.
I was given an ARC copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

I like that there weren't any drawn out descriptions of the settings. I find that to be the boring parts of the story at times and skim through them. I do enjoy the going back and forth from each characters point of view as well. Lauren knows how to tell it! I have read 5 of her books just this week and can't wait to read more☺
