What could possibly go wrong between two people who have been in love since they were kids? Everything! This book is a laugh out loud, could only happen in New Orleans kind of a book! This has a mix of everything for laughter, romance, being afraid of the truth, to hurt....give it a read, you will be handcuffed to this sex cop for sure!

Who doesn’t love a man in uniform? Especially when that man is smoking hot Brady Taylor! I fell in love with this author and her writing style with this book! I am a total sucker for romantic comedies and this story did NOT disappoint! Not only was the story set is a great location (New Orleans), but it had all best parts of a rom-com. Angst, humor, tenderness and so much steam!!! The chemistry between Brady and Shaelyn kept me hooked from page 1! I could not put this book down and finished it in a day! The humor and tenderness of these characters had me right away and I can’t wait to read additional books by this author!!!

A fun, sassy, sexy, flirty read that won my heart in about five minutes of starting it! I can't believe I have never read this series! The characters are fun and wonderful and the romance is flirty fun and sexy too. Its basically irresistible and with a cover like this, you know you are in for a treat. This is great writing and its pure entertainment with plenty of heart. I am LOVING Maria Luis!

I received an ARC for honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Brady and Shaelyn. They were high school sweethearts, who went separate ways because of a misunderstanding. Shaelyn returns home after many years because of her sick grandmother and finds Brady again. The story flows smoothly; is very funny in parts and has some sadness. I really have enjoyed reading this story and look forward to Ms Luis' future stories.

I have voluntarily received an ARC of this book and chose to review it. What a great second chance love story. Lots of drama, suspense and chemistry that is off the charts. Twelve years since they've seen each other and she's determined to evade her high school crush Detective Brady Taylor and he has sworn off all distractions in anticipation of a promotion. One chance meeting and can they resist each other this time?

A cute read. Brady and Shaelyn high school sweethearts broken up by a misunderstanding 12 years before find their way back to each other with the help of some meddling Grandmothers and well-meaning friends. At times, the story dragged a bit, with a little too much "does he/she like me?" And not enough real plot, but overall and enjoyable read. The chemistry between the two was off the charts, which made it fun.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read. Shae and Brady are easy to like, and the secondary characters add quite a bit of humor, sass, and motivation for our hero and heroine. I am so glad I read this one at home, since I found myself laughing out loud on more than one occasion!

You, Ms Luis, need a disclaimer on this book, do not read this at work; because you will not get anything else done. I laughed and cried and even cheered them on. I enjoyed Brady and Shaelyn's second chance at romance. I wish I had a grandma like meme Elaine. I am looking forward to more of Ms Luis' books.

What a fun book. I thoroughly enjoyed Brady and Shaelyn's story. Their crazy grandmothers were a hoot. If you're looking for great entertainment while you read, this book will definitely do the trick. You can't help but laugh at what life dishes out to this couple. You won't be disappointed. This author has yet to let me down with any of her books. Thanks Maria Luis!!!!!

This is such a fun story, from miscommunication, faked relationships, and meddling family members. Shaelyn is back in town and Brady is positive that he doesn't care and has gotten over her, but he might just be lying to more than himself. Shaelyn didn't plan on coming back or staying, but the past finds a way to draw her back, maybe for good.

The story is funny, sexy, chaotic, and yes at times exasperating. I gave the book 4 stars only because it was way to wordy; I really got frustrated and wanted it to "move along" on many occasions. But all is well that ends well, I suppose, even if it did take too many screw-ups from the girl and her crazy family.

I practically begged for an ARC for this book because I loved, loved Maria's Power Play!! This story was funny, sweet and at times pulls at your heart strings. Brady is exactly what you want in a second chance and Shaelyn is funny and sweet. The grandmother's, however, are hilarious. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series....hoping for a little Luke love story.

I appreciate your fully developed characters. You developed the necessary ones and focused on telling a complete and complex story with them. The story and its characters were as interesting and emotionally strong as is the city it's based in I can't wait to read the second book!

I absolutely loved this book. Shae is a bit down on her luck and moved back to her home town where she runs into her ex Brady in a tight fitting red dress. The start of the book is hillarious and if you add all the miscommunications, faked relationships, crazy and meddling relatives, evil cat from hell and trow in sexy underwear you have the perfect recipe for a laugh out loud love story. I am waiting in anticipation for the next Maria Luis masterpiece.

The funniest, sexiest, book with a plotline that I have read in awhile. I laughed, cried, was angry at the hero and the heroine. So many emotions in one book! I am so looking forward to reading the author's next book!

I voluntarily received an ARC of this book for my honest review. Maria Luis has done it again. This is a fantastic book. I couldn't put it down. I fell asleep reading it. Shaelyn and Brady were high school sweethearts. Like most young couples, problems arise. Shaelyn got upset and ran from her problems. Brady being young didn't chase after her and regretted it. Twelve yrs passed and Shaelyn came back to New Orleans to help her sick grandma. She saw Brady but always stayed clear of him. He broke her heart once. She was afraid of the same hurt if she made the mistake of getting too close to him. Will she allow Brady to get close to her? A must read! If you like romantic books that keep you on edge, this one is for you. Maria Luis is a new author, but you would never know it because she is a fantastic writer.

Absolutely loved this book! Brady and Shaelyn were a hard couple not to root for and definitely deserved a second chance at love! Set in one of my favorite cities, New Orleans, this love story was very well written. Just enough humor, tears, sexual heat and mystery to keep you entertained for hours. Add in their meddling grandmas, meme Elaine and Mary, whose antics would create a story of their own, made for a lot of giggles and outright belly laughs! I love animals, and especially cats! Shae's devilish feline fit right in. Hopefully this series will continue as I would love for Shae's cousin, Anna; nephew, Julian; Luke, and Danvers to find their HEA as Brady and Shea have done. Marie Luis is an author to look out for, I think she is here to stay!

I was super excited when I received an advanced copy to read for an honest review. I was totally hooked on the first page...
Maria Luis has this easy writing style that just makes you automatically live yourself into the story. You can almost feel the anxiety when Shaelyn sees her ex for the first time again after she ran away 12 years earlier... and by the way Maria described him in the book... I would have stayed... There is laughter, romance, police investigation, conspiracy... something of everything... and the biggest secret was... O, well... guess you will have to read it to find out for yourself.
I haven't had so much fun reading a book in... wait...never!! I can't wait to read Maria's next book.

In this story, Shaelyn (what a beautiful name), comes home to be with her sick grandmother, She pretends to have a fiance to show off at an event where her old flame (Brady - from twelve years before) will be. She was badly hurt by him in high school. They find they are still very attracted to each other but have to resolve the old issues from high school before they can get together and have their HEA. This was a well-written book with interesting characters. The made me get really attached to the characters and, therefore, care a lot about what happens to them. Readers will, too! I voluntarily read an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.

Usually getting back with my ex I think about everyday, but this story was a good way to portray it if it happened. It was loving, annoyance, and pure patience on our parts. I flipped the next page waiting for some breakthrough to get us closer! The only reason I wouldn't give it five stars is b/c of Meme Elaine. The controlling nature of her just put a bad taste in my mouth. Would recommend as a future read for all romanc-ys.
