Well, that was a super cute, enjoyable read! This is technically the second book in the Wall Street series. We do meet both Matt and Sabrina in the first book, but this can still be read as a standalone. This was a frenemies to lovers trope with a little bit of fake dating added in. It was a really quick read. I liked both main characters a lot. Matt’s family was definitely something you don’t see in most books! I really loved all the exchanges between the friends, especially the guys. Overall, a really good addition to the series, and I would recommend.

Hard Sell is an entertaining romantic read. This is the second book in the series and I found it a stronger read than the first.

Matt, our hero, is a slightly conceited and overly invested in his own awesomeness, but is still likable. Sabrina, our heroine, is a woman of steel wrapped up in a beautiful package and is also someone who is easy to like.

I enjoyed the development of their relationship and wanted them to live happily ever after. I liked pretty much everything about this book and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance novels.

I received an ARC in exchange of my honest review.

Lauren Layne has become one of my favorite authors ever since I read Walk of Shame, which to this day is one of my favorite books of all time. So when I saw she had a new series involving hot Wall Street guys I could not wait to read it! I mean, come on, guys in suits! I can’t be the only one that pauses and swoons just a little when I see one walking down the street. Add in the fact that Hard Sell is an enemies-to-lovers romance and I was beyond excited.

Now, I’m going to just start off by saying that I didn’t end up loving this as much as I thought I would. I’m honestly very surprised about my feelings towards this book because I started out really enjoying it. I don’t know if it was because I wanted more angst between Matt and Sabrina since they have this “enemies-with-benefits” relationship in the beginning, or I didn’t fully connect with either Matt or Sabrina but something was off for me with this book.

Despite these feelings, there is still a few things in this book that I really enjoyed. One of those being Sabrina Cross. Sabrina is an amazing heroine who has worked her ass off to get where she is today with her career, not letting her childhood define who she is as a person. She finds a formidable adversary in Matt Cannon and holds her own against him every time, not giving into any of his crap while also getting under his skin. I absolutely loved the banter between Matt and Sabrina; Lauren Layne’s dialogue as always was spot on to the point that I was giggling in public at some of the lines between these two.

The physical connection between these two has been their from the start, hence the “enemies-with-benefits” relationship, but it is the development of their friendship into something more that was a key part of this book and one that happened so naturally. These two may be stubborn-as-hell especially towards each other but it is pretty damn obvious that they are made for each which was so sweet to witness when it finally ended up happening.

Even though, I ended up not enjoying this as much as I thought I would, this book still made my heart flutter. If you are looking for a hilarious yet sweet enemies-to-lovers/fake-relationship romance with a sassy heroine, then check out Hard Sell!

WOW! Just WOW! I loved Sabrina and Matt's story.
I have discovered Lauren Layne recently and I can't get enough of her books. She has the wonderful gift of skillfully putting a story together, with fascinating and strong characters, loving moments and so many laugh out loud opportunities.

This book is the second in the series. We are first introduced to Sabrina and Matt in the first book "Hot Asset"(Ian and Lara's story). When I read about Matt and Sabrina, I knew that their story would be witty, entertaining and HOT. Ms. Layne did not disappoint.

I love the strong character that Sabrina portrays. The no nonsense kind of girl that will call it like she sees it. She would not let Matt get away with anything. Their banter is soooo entertaining! Matt does not stay behind as well and keeps up with Sabrina. Their chemistry is pretty hot and their story just pulls you in. I loved that I did not have to worry about a whiny heroine and overbearing hero. These two were just perfect and their story kept me entertained for hours.

Definately a winner!

I was intrigued by the relationship between Matt and Sabrina in Hard Asset, so I was really excited to read this book. The love/hate thing they had going on is something I absolutely enjoy in romance novels. Delving into why they had the kind of relationship they did was eye-opening. I loved the banter between these two whether it was antagonistic or dirty, it was really good. Sabrina is one heck of a woman and I loved getting to know more of her backstory. I also enjoyed exploring the idea that just because your rich, doesn’t mean your happy or living the best life.

Aside from Matt and Sabrina being sexy as all get out together, I really loved the moments when they were with their friends. The girls nights with Kate and Laura were great. Seeing Matt with Ian and Kennedy, it was refreshing to see their close bond in a business where everything is competitive and cutthroat.

This is another great book by Lauren Layne. I am really, really looking forward to Kennedy’s book. I love the straight laced nerdy type and I adore Kate. That combination is going to make for a fun ride.

I was looking forward to Matt and Sabrina's story considering the hate and tension between them was so thick in Hot Asset. I loved their back and forth snarky banter and them chemistry always buzzing between them. I think their pasts, although very different, is what truly connected them together and I loved the understanding between them because of it. I really wasn't sure how Matt would all of the sudden become the type of man to desire a HEA, but Layne made it believable and really made me root for him to figure out the real issue behind his apprehension. Matt and Sabrina were perfect together and enjoying to read.

Is there anything that Lauren Layne can't write? I mean seriously! I was a little nervous reading this series because I knew it was going to be different than what I'm used to reading for her, trust me, this different is a good thing. Lauren blew the story out of the water, it is sexy, it's full of sass, and definitely not short on the complications a good romance has.

Matt and Sabrina aren't really friends and they aren't really enemies, they are just Matt and Sabrina. They've known each other for years. Matt finds himself in a tough spot and needs Sabrina's help. Working in PR she's used to cleaning up messes but pretending to be in a relationship with Matt is something completely different. Can these two people completely against falling in love make it through a fake committed relationship without actually falling for each other?

Hard Sell is the second book in the 21 Wall Street series, but don't worry if you haven't read book one yet you can still enjoy this one.

I love indulging in this author's stories, her characters are so strong and likable and you just want to hang out with them. The Bangor did not disappoint and the pace of the story flowed easily.

This is the second installment from this series and it centers around Matt and Sabrina.

Matt and Sabrina share the same friends but they are not friendly to each other. Matt finds himself in a compromising situation and needs Sabrina's help to get him out of a mess. She reluctantly agrees but they agree that their alliance is temporary and will resume their dislike for each other when Matt is no longer in not water.

But..........they realize that they are attracted to each other but too stubborn to let the other one know. Will they guard their own feelings for a chance at love? This was a fun, easy, breezy story but it also had substance and the dialogue felt authentic to the storyline. I look forward to Late and Kenmedy's storyline.

This is the second installment of the 21 Wall Street series by Lauren Layne. We first met Matt and Sabrina in Hard Asset, Ian and Lara’s story and the first in the series. It’s here that you are first exposed to the animosity between these two. In Hard Sell you find out the reasons behind their particular dynamic. Matt, aka The Wonder Boy, finds himself in hot water with his bosses after a wild Vegas weekend attending his cousin’s bachelor party. Sabrina, Ian’s childhood friend, is a well respected fixer to the rich and famous or infamous. As the storyline progresses you begin to understand the reluctance of these two against relationships. Mixed in this story you also get glimpses of the third man of this group of friends Kennedy and the assistant extraordinaire, Kate, who attends to these three workplace needs.

I anxiously wait for this author to delve into Kennedy and Kate’s story plus updating us with the rest of the group of friends.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the second book in the series and I think it reads well as a stand alone. I enjoyed this one more than the first. Sabrina and Matt seemed to have more chemistry, and have a frenemies to lovers thing going. They are all over the top for me as they are all about beautiful wealthy New Yorkers. But still the book made me laugh and it was a fun, entertaining read about how the other half live. I think most romance readers would enjoy. I give it a 4.5.

Frenemies to Loves! Matt and Sabrina leapt off the pages of Hot Asset, book one of the 21 Wall Street series, with their razor sharp back and forth digs, almost guaranteeing their story would be full of sparks and Lauren Layne did NOT disappoint! Hard Sell is one of the best books I’ve read this year in part because of the snappy banter but more so because it combines the enemies to lovers trope and the friends to lovers trope so beautifully. Matt made a horrible mistake when he and Sabrina first met, making them enemies, but as four years has past they’ve also become a type of friends and now they are faking a relationship, or are they? The truth, all the messy emotions, the adorable dog, the group of noisy friends, and one billionaire all conspire to show Matt and Sabrina that those sexy time sparks are more than just that. Seriously one of Layne’s best and one of 2018’s too!

Hard Sell is the perfect classic romance - all the drama and the feels. There’s an intriguing push and pull between the characters that adds to the tension of the story. And man is there tension! Sabrina and Matt have a sticky history, one that’s painful to relive at first but have to in order to move on. Their history is also the reason they constantly find their back to each other, especially when Matt needs her help. We see their love-hate relationship in Hot Asset, the first in this series. It sets the stage so well for Hard Sell - more of a frenemies to lovers romance! I was so excited to finally find out what happened to Sabrina and Matt, as well as how they turn out. And I was not let down! Rather, I was blown away with Sabrina’s devastating yet strong character, and Matt’s good nature mixed with playful and sexy attitude. Definitely 5 stars!

This series continues to be super entertaining. We met both Matt and Sabrina in the first book, but this time around Matt needs Sabrina's expertise to repair his damaged reputation. This frienemies-to-lovers story was jammed packed with delicious sexual tension, witty sparring words, and chemistry that lit the book on fire.

Both characters have emotional layered pasts that have them both refusing to fall in love. Too bad they're perfect for each other and this hatred is just a cover for feelings that won't be explored.

Matt and Sabrina continued to amaze me throughout the story with their understanding of each other but their reluctance to explore a real relationship together. But the HEA at the end is well worth the wait. Always entertaining, the Wall Street series keeps getting better, and I can't wait for Kennedy and Kate's story.

Matt and Sabrina's story may be my favorite Lauren Layne novel to date, and that's saying something! I loved the Stiletto/Oxford series, and enjoyed the first book in the 21 Wall Street series, too, but Hard Sell offers a unique frenemies to lovers approach that focuses on the power of a few "miss" interactions. It's a wonderful romance that's relatively light on the cliche. I chuckled, I smiled at my Kindle, and overall cheered for Sabrina and Matt to find their way. Highly recommend!

This is the second book in a series, but they are interconnected standalones, so it's possible to enjoy Hard Sell without reading Hot Asset first. That said, I recommended you do read the novels in order, as you get more out of the secondary characters that way! I can't wait for Kate and Kennedy's story, the third in the series.

Hard sell was really good. It was a frenemies with benefits to lovers. Learning their past doesn’t define them or prove what relationships are or will be. Opening up and showing your true feelings is really scary but also could lead to the best things ever. Loved Matt and Sabrina’s Love story. Loved their banter back and forth. Loved reading about these two since you are introduced to them in the first book Hot Asset. Can’t wait to learn more about Kate and Kennedy. Love the friendships that are formed. Arc given to me by author.

What a fun read! Miss Layne does it again. Although I did not love this one as much as the first in her Wall Street series, I love these characters and found this to be such a sweet chapter in the story of these three men -- Ian, Kennedy and Matt -- and the woman who become their partners. I feel like the story won't be complete until Kennedy gets his story told. I loved Sabrina in this book, an amazingly strong woman and a perfect match for Matt. Maybe even a little too good for him in the beginning. I'm always a sucker for "pretend boyfriend/girlriend" thing and this was such a good one. Miss Layne is quickly becoming one of my favorite romance authors. I know her characters are always going to be fully developed and the plot well paced. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Matt sometimes loses his cool, “I don’t want your da*n connections, Sabrina, I want you!” I take a deep breath, trying to rein in my temper..." Sabrina does not put up with her man's crap, “Sabrina, I really am sorr—” She shuts the door on the rest of my apology." Matt is a take what he wants kind of man, “good,” I say simply. “Because talking’s not at all what I had in mind.” Then I reach out and haul her to me." I liked this book, I loved Matt, I really like this series

Hard Sell was a great enemies to lovers/friends to lovers romance. I've read every book LL has written in the past four years, and while this wasn't my favorite book of hers, it was still a great read. Sabrina and Matt definitely have chemistry. I love how close this group of friends are throughout the book and I'm kinda excited at the prospect of another character being added into the mix. Overall, a smart read and I can't wait for Kate and Kennedy's book up next.

Matt and Sabrina fell into bed together the first night they met. From then on it was bickering and disagreements and continued hookups. But was it really hate fueling it? Or a big misunderstanding and a ton of chemistry?

Until Matt could use Sabrina's help and they are forced to confront their history and feelings.

Loved this story!! Rom com at its finest! Great banter and chemistry! Loved the cameo of Georgie, from Walk of Shame!

Lauren Layne gets better with each series! The 21 Wall Street series is one of Lauren's best series to date. HARD SELL is witty, charming, sexy, and the frienemies to lovers story we longed for after HOT ASSET. Matt Cannon's gorgeous, smart, and the guy every woman wants....except frienemy, Sabrina, who is exactly what Matt needs, when his boy-wonder charm lands him in hot water with his professional and personal life. In a true battle of wits, Sabrina and Matt try and out-plan each other, but what they don't plan on is falling in love with one another. HARD SELL was exciting, enchanting, and exactly what I had been waiting for. Can't wait for Kennedy's story!

Sabrina and Matt prove there is a thin line between love and hate and fortunately for them, love wins, even though it is an uphill battle. Their banter never got old and each tried to one up each other. Lauren Layne’s 21 Wall Street series is good – just not on the caliber of her Stiletto and Oxford series, but then it may be that Wall Street does not have the appeal to me as the others. I do like the series, and this book was no exception, it just took a little while for me to really get into the storyline but once I did, I couldn’t put the book down.

This book brings out emotions of these 2 characters who have history but don’t know how to have a relationship. They are supported by amazing characters throughout the book.

She’s a fixer and he needs her help. The chemistry, intensity, banter between Matt and Sabrina is amazing. The question is- when they are finally honest with one another and break down their walls- can they be together….

Hard Sell was such an excellent read. I laughed pretty much and the plot was greatly written, enemies to lovers. I was already sold while reading the blurb. And the cover guys... hot.

I loved the bickering between Sabrina and Matt, they have to comment just on everything the other says, sometimes funny, sometimes nasty. They can't stand each other and on the other hand they can't leave hands of one another. The air is filled with always present anger or sexual tension.

The story brings to the surface value of things that matter, things you can't buy with money and for both characters the most unexpected, they never ever wanted....

Anyway if you can, get your hands on this book. I loved every second.

What an amazing story. I won this book through goodreads and I am feeling pretty happy that I did. I had no idea that I was going to enjoy it as much as I did.

I fell in love with these characters. I hadn't read Ian and Lara's story before this but I definitely need to because everyone of these characters became real in my world. I lost sight of everything else because this author is fantastic at creating a story with a strong foundation and creating tension between the characters that was believable.

Received this book through NetGalley very happy I did. I read the first and liked it. In the middle of the first one it was a bit slow. I was hesitant to start this one. I'm so happy I picked it up anyway. Matt and Sabrina could be so intense. We all know that their hate relationship was based on them being scared. They knew all along that there was something special about the other person.Their sexual chemistry was off the charts. Their story was so relatable and real like.I'm loving this series and can't wait for the next.

I was skeptical about reading this book even though I really like the author. I don’t like when the hero and heroine hate each other the whole book and then suddenly realize they love each other. This book was the exact opposite of that. The H and H are KIND to each other- even when they are working through all their issues. They are both like able, although flawed, and I found myself really rooting for them. And great job to the author portraying the New York scene. Great job overall.

Great enemy to lovers book. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. This is the second book I read from Lauren Layne and I’m in love with her writing.

What happens in Vegas doesn’t usually stay in Vegas. For Matt that is bad news. Matt have some decisions to make and it seems like the only one that can help would be his Frenemy Sabrina. Sabrina and Matt have history but with this hiccup in Matt’s life change anything?

Once you start reading this book you won’t be able to put it down.

Matt and Sabrina have unbelievable chemistry. They are either fighting or fooling around but when Matt needs help redeeming his reputation Sabrina comes through for him. This is a true wonderful Lauren Layne book with all of the secondary characters being just as important to the story as the main characters. I can’t wait for Kennedy and Kate’s story and I hope there’s one for Jarod! Don’t forget to read Hot Asset but not necessary before reading Hard Sell.

Received an ARC from NetGalley for this review.

I thought the book was good - not great.

I thought the issues that Matt and Sabrina had to work through were real. I liked them and the chemistry they had but there was just something missing. I can’t put my finger on it, but it was a little lacking. I found myself wanting more about Kennedy and Kate which my guess will be the next book than in these two.

Hope the next one has a little more of a hook.

I thoroughly enjoyed this frenemies to lovers romance! Matt and Sabrina each had complicated pasts that made them hesitant to fall in love, but were dedicated enough to their work that they were willing to do anything. This combination of qualities makes this entire story believable, and there were only a few places where things felt a bit contrived. But if I had one honest complaint, it would be that too many of the characters started too many of their sentences with "Hell." It felt more like a tick that author had than one that was genuine to any of the characters, and it became a distraction for me towards the end of the book. That is a minor complaint, but I was pretty close to counting them just for fun. Overall, this story was engaging and romantic and I will definitely read more Lauren Layne in the future!
