Mia Clark just made my list of blacklisted authors who use the cheap tactic of cheating her readers out if an actual ending in an attempt to get them to buy the next book in the series. Note to author, your readers buy your books in good faith that it will have an actual ending. There are some out there they may even be suckered into buying 2 or 3 of them only to become increasingly frustrated at the last line of each one that does not actually end the book. Wanna know the quickest way to kill your career? Keep doing this. After a while you get a reputation for being a tease that never delivers and the fickle public will move on to someone who does deliver. Even if you only charge .99 cents for each one, each one equals to less then half a chapter. So to get the whole story you're forcing people to pay 12.00 to 13.00, but I'm guessing that you are hoping that by only charging .99 each time to download the next bite of storyline people won't notice this. Shame on you for trying to cheat your readers like this. I liked your storyline for the most part, but I refuse to support any author who uses this tactic by purchasing any more of their work.

This story was disappointing. It started off well, but then as read the flow of the book doesn't make sense. The characters talk to you like you are there and it felt wierd to me. ALSO this is a book bought by the chapter and I hate those. I want the whole book when purchased.

I just loved this book.
The characters personality was in depth and I could associate with them. I like Ashley but Ethan I afraid will dump her
I like the way it is narrated by both so you know what is going on in both their minds. There are so of laid back and sometimes what they are thinking is cute.
I like the Stepbrother/stepsister combo. Makes you feel at first that it is dirty but they really are not related by blood.
I recommend this series.
I can't wait to see how next book is about. Do they get caught?
Without Regret (Pyte/Sentinel Series Book 2) :: Sudden Response (EMS Series Book 1) :: Craving My Boss :: Bare Ass in Love (Hard, Fast, and Forever Book 1) :: Black Heart (Cursed Hearts Book 1)

Ashley & Ethan are step brother and sister. No real blood relationship at all. His father, the billionaire, married her mother and blended the four of them into one "happy" family. They go to separate colleges. He is a quarterback for his University's football team. She is a perfect 4.0 student. They are as different as night and day. Her boyfriend, douchbag Jake, breaks up with her the last day of school because he can't go two months without sex. Even if it is mediocre sex according to him. She never had an orgasm with him. Somehow, she gets to telling Ethan about this, he comforts her, the booze comes out and the clothes come off. He is raunchy and wonderful. She ends up exhausted. I giggled through the entire book. The two of them are enchanting together.

I will announce **** Spoiler Alert **** here even though there is nothing to spoil about this book.
The plot was predictable, StepBrother and Step Sister have sex and fall in love. Another HEA (Happy Ever After), but then not really.

I struggled if I should give this an overall rating of 3 stars or 4 stars for several reasons.
So some of the good stuff was I liked this author's style of writing. The characters (hero (Ethan) and heroine (Ashley) had really great chemistry and fit together perfectly. Ethan is a "bad boy" that used to get into a lot of trouble, which you only hear stories of because of course, he changes when he meets Ashley. But he is also the VERY dumb jock character. While it there is little focus on his football playing (1 major scene and 1 attendance at practice that are very short) but they mention him playing football as quarterback many times. But he is also very "dumb" or "stupid" literally in the book. Now don't get me wrong, him being dumb was done in such a way it was VERY funny and very cute and it added so much to this book. I liked him right off.

Ashley was the extremely smart "goody two shoes" step sister who of course falls in love with Ethan the stepbrother. She was very likable and I really liked her personality. She could be cute, charming sexy... and her personality matched Ethan's to a T.

With that said, before you read these books you have to take into account that Ashley and Ethan are just 18 years of age and are in college. That means the dialog and personalities are much more teen-based than actual adults in a book. I think this would be must more enjoy by someone coming of age maybe 18-22 rather than an older adult.

There are graphic sex scenes in this book because that is the type of book it is. For those that complained about it, you should learn to read the descriptions better and learn your authors.
Again, with that said, because these are 18 year old "teens" coming into an adult world, the sex scenes are what I would classify as "mild" for this type of book. You definitely go through some of their learning with them as they experience new positions, new ways to have sex including simple things like adult toys to "backdoor entry". So do not expect to read about the great experience here. If you are of a younger age, you may get that warm tingling feeling from this book during those moments. Did not as it was almost as if you were watching them lose their virginity even though Ethan was supposed to be very experienced. He was not.

Overall rating for this book: This author really did deserve four stars and honestly, I would have probably given if it 5 stars if not for the second half of this review. I would say I would read more from this author (I did ready Ethan and Ashley's Holiday book, which I really liked) except unless she does any singular books with complete endings I will pass. If you read on, you will find out why.

Now the reason I gave it 4 stars, and really struggled between 3 stars and 4.

I have read so many books of this nature along with reverse harem books, that it was completely my bad for not reading, or possibly overlooking the fact that this books was a series or was broken into what she called "Seasons" like you would a tv show. The main difference is, not one book was completed to the end. Each book just suddenly stopped in the middle of the story and you had to move on to the next book to continue on with the story. It was not like a tv show that has one "plot" or "story" with each episode. This was just like one very very very long book that was chopped into 20 different books (21 if you count the holiday book). So essentially every book is a "cliffhanger" with no HEA. Even in the last book. I won't bother telling you how it "ends" as there is no ending. Of course they stay together, of course she moves to the same town where is schools is, but they stay in the college years, never progressing further into engagement or marriage. It just randomly stops.

So I don't recall where season 1 ends (somewhere between book 10 or 12 or something) and moves into season 2. This is where the author loses me in interest. The parents go away for a week and this is when the romance starts (book 1) but they return early so it almost throws off the romance, but of course, it is a romance book, so they continue on. The Ashley's mother (Ethan's step Mother) catches on right away, Ethan's father (Ashley's stepfather) does not. So basically season 1 focuses around them sneaking around for like 2 or 3 weeks until they finally come out and tell Ethan's father that they are dating and in love. Season 2, if I recall focuses on their day to day life at college, them being separated and how they deal with it, but in actuality the entire season 2 only covers like a week or week and a half of their time frame, where Season 1 was about 2-3 weeks or so of their time together in the beginning, the author skipped over almost their entire summer together before they went back to college.

So season 2 focusing on their day to day life at college, basically the "friends" they meet or have (Which are all Ethan's friends that become Ashley's friends when she meets them as she as 0 friends of her own). This is where the trouble begins and where you lose interest really fast. First, no one really cares about their day to day life at college and all the long drawn out conversations they have together. I also struggled with the characters created as friends. Honestly I was not drawn to any of them, in fact, I mostly disliked all of them, but tolerated 1 or 2. So you struggle through "Season 2" as they "adjust" to be separated in different colleges. I just kept reading because by the time you get 10 or 15 books in, you are kind of vested in them, right? Might as well finish.

Season 3 focus more on the revenge of Ashley's ex-boyfriend who she accidentally sends a nude picture too along with texts of how she wants to have sex with Ethan the stepbrother and she calls him "brother" in the texts The texts were meant for Ethan, but she accidentally sent them to the ex Jake. Jake then tries to blackmail her into having sex with him. I didn't agree with the way it was handled and surprised the mother and stepfather did nothing to try to stop it, but whatever, it's the author's plot. But in reality, most of season 3, the last 5 or so books, was still focusing on their day to day lives at college, and I think like 1 books was really focused on the revenge since he hung up nude pictures in the school and put her nude pictures on a website (Which the parents or the college did nothing about).

Conclusion: I liked the writing style, I like the main guy and girl and the parents and the first book or so were really really good. But after the first few books, its mundane, but because I liked those characters so much, I kept reading.

I found myself losing interest quickly, and so little things started to bug me really bad. Like at one point Ashley's mother seems too interested in the sex life of her daughter and stepson, but in the end, the author turned it around and made the mother really funny. At one point Ethan being so dumb really was starting to get on my nerves for a book or two because the things he was saying was not funny, but then the author was able to turn that around and get him back on track to him being hilarious in what he was saying and doing.

For the majority of readers this should have never been split up in to so many books and this should not have been made into "seasons". It should have been one book, all the college life crap cut out and been giving a HEA. It is a way to milk more money out of your readers splitting it up with "cliffhangers" or chopping your book up, but author's don't realize they lose more readers this way than they gain fans.

This author started a series of books based off 2 of this characters in this book, Caleb and Scarlet. NO THANKS, I'll pass. I'm done with series, and cliffhangers and no HEA. Plus I really really did not like their characters in this book. Caleb was tolerable, but Scarlet is horrible.

Just know what you are getting into before starting this series. It is not an easy ready by any means.

I just finished Stepbrother With Benefits 1. WOW what a book. The Ashley and Ethan's story had my interest from the first page. I couldn’t put it down. It is shorter that a novel so finishing it in one sitting is easy and fun.

I read widely, science fiction, historical novels, time travel, westerns and of course erotic romance.

In the latter category Mia Clark is the best author on the store. I’ll not comment on the plot, other reviewers have done that. They have also showered the author with an abundance of accolades. I’ll not repeat them. I will say that her writing is filled with emotion and humor. The dialog, introspection and interaction is exactly what you would expect from well balanced normal young people.

If you want a very entertaining peek into the minds, the emotions and lives of two typical young people coming of age and learning about first-time sexual and human interrelations then READ THIS BOOK!!!

I absolutely adored this series so very very much. I can't even put into words how much I would recommend these books. They're really really good.

Ethan and Ashley have known each other for a long time, but they've only been stepbrother and stepsister for a few years. They think that means that they're off limits to each other, but one accidental night together leads to so much more than either of them ever could have hoped for.

They open up a lot throughout the series, and I enjoyed reading it. Ethan is a bad boy, but he's good in all the right ways (and sexy in even more ways! I loved him). Ashley is a good girl, but... Ethan knows just how to bring out her wild side when it counts. Together, they're incredibly hot, but also they teach each other things that only they know.

These books are really sexy, but they're also amazingly sweet, and the romance between Ethan and Ashley is really beautiful.

Mia Clark is one of my new favorite authors! She knows exactly how to write a bad boy. It's not always about being bad, it's about being bad at the right times. Ethan is a little overbearing sometimes and he takes some getting used to, but he's so good for Ashley and he takes care of her in a way that only a bad boy could. I loved how he was over the top sometimes, but it made perfect sense.

Ashley was naive and it reminded me of that time when we were younger and trying to figure out who we were and where we fit in the world. It was cute, but also fun watching her find out about herself. There's some sexy body exploration going on between her and Ethan, too. I loved how he couldn't keep his hands off of her, but he knew when to take it slower, too.

I've received this story for an honest review and I love what Mia Clark has done with this story. Once I started I couldn't put this down. Ethan and Ashley are home from college on summer break. Ethan informs her that their parents are on vacation and they're home ALONE. The story is written from Ethan and Ashleys POVs and I really enjoyed the separation. The title speaks for itself and I can't wait to see what the future books have in store for Ethan and Ashley!

A promising beginning to a hot new series. 18 year old Ashley is devastated when her boyfriend not only breaks up with her but tells her she's bad in bed. Arriving home to begin her summer break from college, she is surprised to find only her stepbrother, Ethan, at home. What begins as an attempt to comfort Ashley turns into something neither expected. There are several books in this series and I am looking forward to seeing where this relationship goes.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Now, usually the step-brothers in these sorts of stories are jerks. This guy....not so much. I mean, he's not perfect, but he is a decent guy and can really be funny.

The book is very short, and I think I will find the next in the series to see what happens next. If it's on KU I'd read it. If I have to pay, it's probably not worth it to me since I see that there are so many books in this series.

This book starts off with a bang! Holy smokes it was hot! I normally am not a told from the first person fan but in this case where both main characters, Ashley and Ethan, it was very well done. I actually liked the fact that it's like they are talking to me, the reader. It is a very natural and sometimes funny conversation. The characters are both young but this story worked and I do like the taboo aspect of step siblings getting together. Can't wait to read #2. I received an ARC for an honest review.

This book is great. There is an undercurrent running through the book where whoever is talking also has an unending conversation with him/herself. The side conversations are hilarious.
I like stepbrother/stepsister relationship books and this one has a whole lot more lined up behind it so obviously this friendship is going somewhere interesting.

Great story line. Will they find true love or get caught. Love they way he story is written by both of them so you get to know what they are both thinking. Why is Ethan being so nice? Is hiding something?
Read this book and had to read the next one the same day.

Ethan is arrogant. He's always been that way. Ashley thinks that because, she's his step sister she's immune. She knows how he is. Why would she want to mess with him? Then she comes home for the summer to find he's home also. Yet, their parents are on vacation.

I either write excellent reviews or no reviews but I am making an exception for these books call Step Brother with Benefits. First let me say that there at last count is 19 different books so far and still no ending with the main characters. The storyline started dying around book 10 I made it to the beginning of book 17 bit was ready to quit at 15. What I liked the sex scenes were plentiful and pretty hot, fun. The main characters Ashley and Ethan I really liked. What I did not like is those 17 books could have been well packed in 7 books if there was not so much excess verbage, ridiculously long descriptions of, well, pretty much everything and constant repitition. Then introducing new characters so far into the story line without ending the story for the main characters was disappointing and inane. I was very disappointed and having many others authors in erotica/romance that i enjoy I understand every author has a different style and I appreciate all of them for those differences. These books I spent hours reading through and now just frustrated because there is no closure for Ethan and Ashley. Also about 1/2 through the 17 books I waded through I started to get turned off with how totally the mother and then the stepfather was involved in Ethan and Ashley's sex life. Way Way Way TMI between those 4. I am far from a prude but it was just a real turnoff and only got worse right up to the mother spending the night in the dorm with Ashley and her roommate revealing even more TMI. Naked pictures and info on a dildo just really crossed lines. Then the same well used dildo ends up being passed between 2 new friends of Ashley. It's like doesn't this girl have ANY filters or pride. Then there is my favorite the whole blackmail storyline is the most ridiculous and totally unbelievable part of the book unless the characters are supposed to be equal to idiot savants. You have recorded messages, texts and voicemails all which can be turned over to cops, FBI, Dean, Private investigators and the parents of the moron blackmailer. Not to mention restraining orders and lawsuits. So what happens everyone says oh his not nice and lets him trash this moronic girls reputation. The mother and step father have a combined IQ of 20 and that is on the high side. I cannot believe either of their children managed to live to adults. These books looked so promising and the author has talent and hopefully will get a handle on it for future books but these are a total waste of time unless you are just looking for a written porn movie of constant sex scenes those were great but the rest of the story sucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I adored this series! With all the cheesy Step-brother books out there, it is hard to find one worthwhile. And this one was definitely a good one. The story of Ethan and Ashley was interesting, they had great banter back and forth, and the alternating viewpoints was great. Would definitely recommend!
