Many concepts that hit home on how golfers think themselves into bad golf. I particularly liked the summary at the end - rules of how to think and how not to think on the course. A bit too long on personal history.

Though the book has been out for sometime, what the author writes about still applies to the game of golf today if not more so because of the lenght of courses plus the technology. Take the time to read and then read again.

This is the second copy that I have bought because the first one helped me out so much that I loaned it to a friend who was struggling with the game and didn't get it back. Dr. Rotella isn't reinventing the wheel here, he just helps realize why the wheel turns. He says in the book that the game of golf is played on a six inch piece of property between your ears and it is true. This book is easy to read and it helps big time.

The greatest book I have ever read regarding Golf. I am attempting to follow the fantastic information, instruction and foresight it offers.
I have played "at" Golf for over fifty years and this book has been the best analysis, and identified the best solutions to the problems
most of us encounter.

Whether you are a high handicapper or a scratch golfer, I would recommend this book. It helps shed light on why some people keep improving with practice while others continue to be duffers regardless of the number of trips to the range.

Very easy to read and grasp the concepts, which are so easy you already know them, just don't apply them.

Ordered two books and both arrived in excellent condition. This is a great book for handling the "mind" part of the game. You can do the shot, but not each time, nor even 80% of the time, so you need the proper "mindset". The 2nd copy is for my boss.

Hilariously, my opera voice coach told me to read this book. I was skeptical, but finally purchased it. It's extraordinary that the mentality that this book teaches, one of self awareness and self-assurance and getting out of your own way is so essential to the budding opera singer. I highly recommend this book even for non-golfers. And this is coming from someone who has never even held a golf club unless you count minigolf.

After reading the advice given by Dr. Rotella, I thought I'd give it a try. So, yes, focusing on a target while addressing the ball and maintaining that focus really helps take your mind off of mechanics and allows the swing to happen. I found that if I focused on the mental target, I hit a decent shot . The hard part is trying to hold on to this for a full round of golf. the thought is always trying to escape and somehow return to the mechanical focus. it's definitely a sound mental approach.
