It was a sweet read, interesting characters and an overall nice story. It was not my favorite book from Melanie, she is a great writer but this book didn't make me feel many emotions I have felt while reading previous books.

Only You is one of my new favorite Melanie Harlow books! Nate and Emme’s story is sweet and swoon-worthy and had me hooked from the very beginning. I absolutely fell in love with these two characters, and I love how much Nate changed during this story. I cannot wait to see what is next from Melanie Harlow! I’d definitely recommend this book to all my friends!

I like Melanie Harlow's books enough to always buy them and know that I will enjoy the experience. Having said that, they are incredibly formulaic and this book is no exception. I only gave it 3 stars because the ANGST was just too much, too predictable and, frankly, boring.

The interaction between the hero and heroine was delightful and his relationship with his surprise daughter was believable but I grew tired of the emotional cripple that was Nate. The back and forth, growth and retreat was just too much.

No one appreciates a one night stand that comes to bite you on the butt more than me, and Only You has that but with a twist. The hero finds he’s a father to a two month old baby girl, but it isn’t the baby’s mother he finds himself attracted to; it is his slightly klutzy neighbor with a huge heart.

As an event planner Emme is poised and graceful, but in her private life she’s a bit of a disaster, luckily her across the hall neighbor and friend Nate is usually nearby to help her out, but one night as they are enjoying dinner, wine, and a Bond movie Nate gets a special delivery that changes his life in more ways than one.

I loved the easy friendship and camaraderie between Emme and Nate from the start and had really high hopes for them falling into a relationship, but honestly Nate’s backing off and hurting Emme over and over got real old, real fast. I get Nate had some issues stemming from some things in his childhood, but at some point as a smart, rational adult you either figure it out or you get help to figure it out. I do admire the fact that after his initial freak-out he took to being a father quickly and fell instantly in love with his young daughter and wanted to be there for her, but his treatment of Emme in my opinion was unfathomable and at times cruel. I was excited when Emme decided to work on herself and making better decisions about men and love, but personally I felt Emme let him off the hook too easily time and time again.

The parts of this story I enjoyed was watching Nate not only learn that fatherhood wasn’t the end of his life but the beginning, I felt the love he had for Paisley almost immediately even before he was sure being a father was something he wanted. Emme’s relationship with her sisters despite their very different personalities was refreshing and it was easy to see they were there for one another always. Emme and Nate’s friendship was unique and I was excited about the burgeoning relationship before it went sideways more than once, and while I was satisfied with the ending I honestly wanted to see Nate get some real help for his issues so he could be a better father and partner.

There were many things I enjoyed about Only You, but parts of this book were repetitive and frustrating leaving me feeling a bit unsatisfied.

What a beautiful, sweet, adorable story! A friends-to-lovers, single dad fairy tale, with no vilains and godmothers, but a lot of work on something worthy, some great friends and family with solid advices, and two people who love each other and have to find the right way to make it happen.

It's a fairy tale, indeed, but in a real life. Where the heroine is giving and trusting, willing and selfless, and sometimes naive. Where the hero is clueless and afraid, full of deep love to give, but struggling on how doing so.

You see? they were real, with amazing qualities and flaws, but they made it work!

Nate and Emme have been friends for some years and living across the hall from each other, and Emme needing his help (and his keys) quite a handfull of times, added to that their bond after Bond, James Bond (cheesy joke, pun intended), they became closer, really good friends, friends that had to choke on their attraction so they wouldn't something important to them, like their friendship.

But all of that changes when Nate becomes the one needing help. Finding out he is a daddy of a two-month baby girl was not something he expected, so Emme has to save the day. But being honest, once the shock was gone, against all odds, Nate was an amazing devoted father.

"I could smell him, and the combination of man and baby smell does things to the body of a woman my age. Things that make the blood run faster, the heart beat quicker, and the ovaries send confusing signals to various other parts of the female anatomy. Parts that harden and tingle. Parts that flutter and whoosh. Parts that swell and pulse. For a moment, all I wanted in the universe was for him to touch me. Kiss me. Want me."

When Paisley comes crashing his convicted bachelor life, Nate is forced to man up and face fatherhood. He has no idea what he is doing, but the amazing part is that he does it anyway. He is scared, he is afraid, he is lost in the dark, but having Emme as a guide and having himself such a big heart, he is all a Daddy needs to be.

"Resisting Nate Pearson, handsome playboy, was one thing. Resisting Nate Pearson, handsome single dad, was wuite another. I wasn't sure I was up to the task."

Emme is a dreamer, a believer, she is optimistic and she seeks her true love. But the nice thing about her it that she is genuine, but she is not weak. She's made bad decisions in the past, but not for being stupid. She is trusting, she is caring, she is loving. She was definitely not that kind of girl that pisses you off. The very opposite, you can relate with her, as she dreams about love and family, and it's healthy to do so.

"I remembered the first wish I'd made at 11:11 PM, when we'd been in my kitchen exactly two weeks ago. That night I'd wished that the next person Emme fell in love with would love her back like she deserved and make her happy. Now I looked at her hopeful, smiling, beautiful face and made it different. I wish I could be the one"

For many times I remembered of Theo and Claire from If You Were Mine. They were both apparently not compatible, he was a convicted single guy, she was a dreamer, he was afraid of getting too close, she wanted a family, he thought love makes you vulnerable, she thought it was worth being vulnerable for the right kind of love. . He just needed a little pull to try it.

"As insane as it sounds, I felt safe. Safe and strong and powerful. Protective and protected. And I realized, as I began to move inside her, our hands clasped above her head, her legs wrapped around me, what it truly meant to trust someone. After my childhood, I'd lost the ability to trust, and she'd brought it back. (...) and I held nothing back, gave her everything, everything, everything I had, felt it flowing from me into her, my body, my heart, my soul, my trust."

They were amazing together. They were so different, but so similar, they wanted so many different things, and they craved the very same things. They completed each other, they balanced each other, they understood, cherished, respected each other. They loved each other!

"The very first night when you told me to make a wish, I wished that the next man you fell in love with would love you back the way you deserved. And he does. I swear to God he does."

Only You is Melanie Harlow’s next epic romance. I love her stories and writing so much that I didn’t even read the synopsis before I opened the book. It wasn’t necessary. I knew I would be addicted once I read the first page. I always am. If life didn’t get in the way it would have been read in one sitting. This story all started with a fire...

Nate was used to rescuing his neighbor across the hall. She locks herself out of her place so often that he has a spare key. He knows her screams when she is being attacked by a spider. Tonight it was a fire in her kitchen. He didn’t mind saving her. He was an alpha man after-all. Well...he thought he was until later that night when a baby was left on his doorstep with a note saying he was her daddy. Now, he needed Emme to rescue him. He never thought he would have to ask her how to change a diaper or make a bottle. He never wanted a baby. He never even wanted a wife. F-...he didn’t even do relationships. He was a divorce attorney. He didn’t need that s- in his life. He was f-...

Emme never thought she would see the day that Nate lost control. Tonight it was happening and it was both shocking and beautiful. Nate in a suit is hot. Nate holding a baby is ten times sexier. She always thought her neighbor was handsome but he was a friend. One that had a new girl walking out of his place every Sunday morning. She never wanted to be one of those girls. She was a romantic. A wedding planner. She loved love. When she fell, she fell hard. Nate has teased her about it for years. Saying she lived in a fairytale world. Maybe she was but she wanted it all.

Nate needed her. He hated to admit that but he did. Emme was happy to help. She knew it was hard for Nate to admit his insecurities. He didn’t do feelings. They were friends who drank martinis and watched Bond flicks. They were now friends who changed diapers and took naps together. Emme knew she shouldn’t want Nate because he would only hurt her but seeing the different sides of this man made her swoon, laugh, and get all kinds of hot and bothered. And Nate wanted her. Bad. He missed her when she went home. He missed her laugh. He didn’t do relationships but with her, he might be willing to try. Maybe. He was so lost. He was losing himself. He hated losing control but his girls were worth it, right?

I absolutely loved this book. Nate is not a feelings type of man but his inner dialogue is a different story. I felt for him. Emme is seriously so damn sweet but she has a badass side too. I loved when it came out. She wasn’t taking Nate’s excuses. And Paisley, she is only two months old but she stole the show. So stinkin’ cute. She had these two wrapped around her tiny fingers. There probably wouldn’t be a Nate and Emme story without that little peanut. But, can Emme and Nate get on the same page when it comes to a future?

Overall...It was everything! It gave me all the feels. The characters are well-developed, funny, strong, beautiful, and real. They have their anxieties, insecurities, and flaws. I loved watching them grow. Their chemistry is hot. Their banter is fun. Their story is emotional. It is one of my favorite Melanie books!

Quotes:

“I set my fires in the bedroom, Calamity. And they’re never small.”

“I’m sorry. I was…in shock.” He stood up taller, thrust his chest out. “But I’m man enough to handle this, dammit. I’m all f- man.”

Me: Can I bring you anything from the shop downstairs?
Nate: Yes. I’d like a case of Red Bull, 6 lines of cocaine, and a Pixie Stick.
Me: Will you settle for a doughnut?

'Resisting Nate Pearson, handsome playboy, was one thing.
Resisting Nate Pearson, handsome single dad, was quite another.
I wasn’t sure I was up to the task.'

Nate Pearson – perpetual bachelor, playboy, divorce attorney.
Emme Devine – hopeless romantic, looking for her happily ever after, wedding planner.
These two neighbors are complete opposites, there isn’t much that they can agree upon, especially when it comes to love and relationships but they have managed to become friends and Nate’s helped Emme out of a few jams over the years. When one of Nate’s past conquests drops a baby off at his door with a note that she’ll be back for her, his entire world is upended. He loves his lifestyle and his bachelorhood, he is not at all prepared to be a father but knows he needs to do the right thing which is why he finds himself begging Emme for help. Emme has always thought that Nate was attractive but seeing him with his little girl is almost too much for her to handle. As she watches Nate fall in love with his daughter, she starts to see a whole new side of him, a side that makes her think that their might be a chance for them after all. Will Nate be able to open his heart to Emme, like he’s done with his daughter, or will old fears cause him to push her away?

'We’d tried to resist it. We’d failed.
But it didn’t feel like a mistake, or an end to our friendship. It felt like a beginning. Of what, I wasn’t sure. I only knew that I didn’t want to walk away.'

Oh man, this book was so good! You know what I love even more than a single dad hero? A former playboy turned single dad who ends up falling utterly and completely in love with his baby! Do you want to swoon? Just watch Nate Pearson fawn over his little girl. The man was truly clueless when it came to babies but that made it so much sweeter seeing him trying. To say that it was a shock finding that baby on his doorstep was an understatement (and his initial reaction was priceless!) and I thought that the way he handled things right off the bat was so well done and realistic. It wasn’t an easy transition for him but with every little victory, you’ll just fall more and more in love with him. I loved him and Emme trying to figure things out together. She was a great help to him and it was very easy to see why their feelings toward one another would evolve with all they were going through together. Of course, after living the bachelor life for so long and given his hang-ups on love and relationships due to some things from his past, Nate was bound to freak out and mess up. I don’t think it would have been believable had he completely changed his spots overnight. His evolution was gradual and even if I wanted to smack some sense into him because he obviously had a great thing going with Emme, I could totally understand why he thought he was doing the right thing. But that just makes the payoff at the end all the better!

This was another amazing book from Melanie Harlow! Grab your copy and be prepared to swoon and fall in love with Nate, Emme, and baby Paisley!

“Only you. Always you.”

Emme and Nate are neighbors and friends, but they have never been more. They are opposites in how they view love, life, and relationships. As a wedding planner, she is the optimist who still believes in soul mates and happy-ever-afters. Even if she has trouble believing in herself and she chooses the toads rather than the Princes, and she tends to get caught up in emotions quickly.

Due to his own past and his career as a divorce attorney Nate is cynical and does not believe in the permanence of love, marriage, and family. He is calm under pressure and a smart, funny, and reliable guy though. But he likes the order in his life and does not plan on ever letting anyone get close enough to hurt him.

As friends they can appreciate their differences. He has rescued her on several occasions. But one night he is the one who needs her to rescue him...when a baby is left on his doorstep, she is the only one he knows to turn to.

But being thrust in this new situation starts to change their dynamic. Seeing Nate in a different way does things to her girly parts. And she is not the only one feeling a pull to the woman he knows he should not mess with and hurt. And they are smart enough to to know they need rules and boundaries. But the best laid plans....

This is about two people whose lives have just taken interesting turns. They are pushing boundaries, exploring their own needs, and trying to deal with changes. But developing trust, learning to be vulnerable and open to love is scary. Nate has ghosts and fears that have locked him down, and Emme has needs and expectations. Self doubt can be hard companions. And sometimes trying to do what seems to be the right thing can be the total wrong thing.

Can the cynic and the optimist ever find a compromise about love and commitment?

This is an emotional, sweet, and sexy friends-to-lovers story. It also centers around Nate dealing with unexpected parenthood which provided some comedic and sweet moments. The characters were likable and complex. Their rapport, connection, and chemistry were well developed. Their struggles felt real, and the characters had plenty of potential for growth. There was angst, heartbreak, and drama, but also smiles, sweetness, and swoon. I was totally invested in their story and am looking forward to more in this series with her sisters. I also enjoyed her relationship with her friends and it made me interested to go back and read their stories.

As neighbors and friends, Nate and Emme have spent 3 years leaning on one another through good times and bad. With opposing views of what a relationship consists of, they have become the shoulder the other needs to cope when life deals you a wicked hand. Through laughter, wine and sometimes tears….Emme knows that Nate will always be there through thick and thin.

As a divorce attorney, Nate has a disbelief in ever finding love. With strings of women traipsing in an out of his door, Nate has no plans to look for anything more permanent than some one night stands. As a wedding coordinator, Emme knows the end result of finding that one true love. Finding it for herself is easier said than done. No one has fit the bill, and Emme is disgusted and discouraged in her quest for finding Prince Charming.

In a strange turn of events, Nate finds a baby on his doorstep. Leading the notorious bachelor to lean on the woman who has been with him through the harder tasks in life. Emme takes to Nate’s sudden turn of events like a champ. Teaching the bachelor what it takes to be the man that he needs to be for his daughter. Somewhere along the way…..Nate decides that acting on his feelings towards Emme can no longer be avoided. An action that will lead both of these neighbors to question where they stand in regards to their opposing views on love. Where will this lead? Only time and ‘testing the waters’ will tell….

Where do I begin? Have you been longing for a romance with relatable characters that you can’t help but fall in love with? Only You is the book you have been waiting for! Nate and Emme have extremely viewpoints on life in general. A catalyst that has ‘worked’ for them for years. Now the one night stands that Nate is often notorious for have resulted in a ‘package’ on his doorstep. One that will change the way this hard hearted man views his life. Watching Nate’s playboy ways quickly diminish was a treat in itself!!

With plenty of moments that keep you laughing out loud and falling in love with these two characters, Nate and Emme will leave you with so much joy in your heart!! Adding to that the appearance of some of your favorite characters from the Frenched Series….and you have a recipe for reading that you will not want to put aside. A great story from start to finish!!

Once upon a time two neighbors, Nate and Emme, who shared many laughs,
chats and drinks find themselves in a situation that especially
Nate never saw coming. Nate comes to the rescue for
Emme more than once. But, in the end its really Princess Emme
who becomes the heroine on the white horse who saves the
prince.

The author, Ms. Harlow weaves her magic with laughs, places you want to
go to, throws in some of your favorites from past books and
then, of course, gives us Emme and Nate's tale. As they
navigate the situation, their single life's are forever changed.

When reading, one could just picture Nate spinning around and pulling
his hair with the predicament that lands on his door step.
Delicious Nate portrays a “I will never get married” attitude, has a charming smile
smile, wears fancy suits and his bachelor pad is one that you
would certainly not find a burpee or binky in.

Emme is so sweet, a little bit of disaster and only wants to find
a true love. She finds herself caring so much for Nate and the little one, knowing full well that this could be her biggest
disaster yet. Her two sisters gladly add their two cents in
but, ultimately it’s Emme's choices that will guide her
to lose out or win the prize of the not so perfect divorce attorney.

As always I find that as I read a Harlow book she creates
all the facets that give you a beautiful story with laughter,
family, awesome friends, love and just the right amount of angst.
She knows how to write women characters that are fierce, loving, and strong,
with just the right amount of vulnerability. The men she writes about are
strong, so very sexy and have the realness to open their hearts.

He kissed me and touched his forehead to mine. “Only you. Always you.”

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
When Ms. Harlow writes, read, smile and enjoy the happy ever after!

Let me start with a saying that’s become cliche, “You had me at Hello”. Well there wasn’t a hello but from the moment I opened this book I was dying laughing because of two reasons, one: it was freakin’ hysterical and two: it was so true. I could totally identify with it. Every girl who has ever been betrayed or had her heart broken can relate to the feeling and how the author interpreted and wrote it. I really want to talk specifics about this book but I can’t because I don’t do spoilers for respect to the author. Let me tell you it’s so hard for me this time! By chapter three my eyes were tearing I was laughing so hard. The best part is it’s so truthful. I could envision every scene the author wrote. She was spot on!

Now for the rest of the review. This story has it all; warmth, heat, romance, angst and definite humor and lots of Awwww and sigh moments. My ovaries were exploding.

There’s also a deeper side to this story that showed the sides of how both individuals came to be the people they are, but it was done in a touching way. We sometimes ( most times) form our own opinions on how guys or girls behave the way we do. We have preconceived judgments and don’t take into account what makes us the way we turn out. Everyone has a story. We’re so busy making our judgments based on what we believe we don’t take time to listen to their story or they don’t tell the other person the full story so we are left to fill in the blanks. Many times we’re wrong. There was a metamorphosis in one of the characters that hit on all cylinders and some light bulb moments.

I know it’s a romcom but I fell in love with these people and the book. I laughed, I cried, and I really enjoyed the story. I feel a re-read in it’s future. This is my first book by this author but it won’t be my last. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

I absolutely love Melanie Harlow. Her books bring about all the feels, and this one was no exception. Emme has a heart of gold, but has had some bad relationships in the past on her quest to find love. Nate is an alpha attorney with his mind dead set on never being in a committed relationship based on fears from his past and given his job. Though they start off as friends and neighbors, their relationship takes a turn following Nate's life being flipped upside down.

I connected with both character's and felt for each of them throughout this story. They had amazing chemistry, but coming from two different mindsets inevitably brings about some conflict and heartbreak. Nate showed tremendous growth throughout the course of the book, and though becoming a dad was scary for him, his quick learning, and ultimate love and protectiveness of his daughter could melt anyone's heart.

I did struggle at times with the back and forth between Emme and Nate, and her quickness to forgive him for his behavior and poor communication skills, which led to her heartbreak (which is the only reason this book didn't get 5 stars from me). Life for them became very complicated very quickly and they each handled that differently. I would have liked to see Emme stand up for herself a little more, or have Nate grovel a little more, but I also understand that the heart wants what it wants, and Emme's ability to look beyond her heartbreak and forgive Nate was commendable and ultimately led to her happily ever after and being loved the way she deserved.

Sometime the person you are looking for is right in front of your face and you don't even realize it. That is the case with Emme and Nate. Two neighbors that become friends that become lovers and more. Nate is a lawyer, a real alpha male in a three piece suit. He is a man's man and he isn't afraid to take what he wants when it comes to life and his lovers. To which he has had many. But for some reason he has a soft spot for his beautiful blonde somewhat clumsy neighbor, Emme. She isn't his type at all and he feels nothing for her. But He is always there to rescue her when is in need of his help whether is to kill a spider, unlock her door or to out a tiny kitchen fire. He never needed her until one night his life changed forever and she would be come the second most important woman in his life.

Let me be honest, this booked pissed me off  A-L-O-T for so many different reasons. Emme is funny and sweet but also so weak in herself but she comes around eventually. Nate...uggh he made me mad most of all but then again, he came around too. But the one that pissed me off the most is the baby mom..... I am not even gonna tell you why. Cause you need to read it and be mad too hahahaha. But seriously, I liked this books a lot. Its been a long time that since I read something that made me mad at the book or made me wanna slap the piss out of the characters.

Melanie is an amazing writer. She makes you feel things; good and bad. Even though the characters made me upset I still really enjoyed this story.

The minute I started this newest book by Ms. Harlow I was captivated. There was just something with the way this story started and I knew that I wasn't going anywhere until I'd turned the last page because I loved Emme and Nate so much just from the first chapter.

This sets the stage for our H/h and how their lives change when a Nate's daughter suddenly appears in his life and their friendship moves to an entirely other level that neither was expecting but both embraced...although one more than the other.

This beautiful little girl changes Nate in so many ways I think even he was shocked at how much love he had in his jaded heart being a divorce attorney and seeing the ugly side of married life. Emme on the other hand believes in everything that is forever love. She just needs to convince Nate that he's so much more than the person he thinks he is because sometimes taking risks leads to the very best things.

And so begins a story that I was consumed with thanks to Ms. Harlow and her storytelling drawing me into Nate, Emme and Paisley's life making me feel their every smile, the sizzling heat that is off the charts hot and their love for a baby that has them both wrapped around her little finger.

Don't get me wrong it's not smooth sailing for our H/h that's for sure. There were a few times I really wanted to just pop Nate one because how could he do and/or say the things he was saying to this beautiful woman? But there's a reason for why Nate is who he is and my heart nearly broke for him because I totally got it after this revelation.

What it all comes down to is that two people that belong together fight hard to get their forever love with all sorts of hills and valleys which only makes the love they find that much more precious and fulfilling beyond their wildest dreams!

***4.5 Stars***

*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book.* Some say that the Universe has its own way of letting you know when the time is right. Unfortunately (or fortunately), the journey to get where you hope, isn’t always what you expect. Melanie Harlow presents us with another swoon-worthy romance that will leave you waiting with bated breath. For me, Emme, is the quintessential single woman trying to find her way through the dangerous jungle of dating. And unbeknownst to her, steering clear of the “tiger” in the form of her neighbor, Nate, proves to be a mighty big challenge. With a significant twist of events, their attraction is fiercely tested, but provides for the juiciest and most passionate moments. Each one more palpable than the last.

As with so many Harlow novels, her secondary characters are so well developed. I love the moments of sisterly love and advice that are sprinkled throughout this book. “Only You,” is chock full of characters that you become desperate to know more about, and Emme’s sisters, Maren and Stella are no exception. Beloved Harlow characters that we have come to know and love make appearances that are representative of what we hold near and dear to our hearts.

Each time I was forced to step away from this book, I was itching to come back to it. I was left on the edge waiting to fall or be saved. Melanie Harlow amazes me with each new book, and “Only You” certainly fits the bill.

“I held nothing back; I gave her everything, everything I had, felt it flowing from me into her, my body, my heart, my soul, my trust.

Well, Melanie Harlow has done it again. She’s given us another story for us to fall in love with, characters that we can fall for again and there’s nothing wrong with that. I know I was ok with because how cannot love Nate. I love, love, loved Nate and Emme’s story, I laughed, swooned and maybe shed a tear because she gave us a story that had the right balance to it.

“I love you. Only you. Always you”

I love these two characters so much; the chemistry between the two of them was off the charts. Not only that but the back and forth banter that they shared was great to read. Not only that, but I am a huge fan of friends to lover story and Melanie did a fantastic job with painting Emme and Nate’s story. These two characters, even though they’ve been friends for a while, they’re personality is so different. Nate struggles with things form his past while Emme is an open book. I love the whole opposite attract aspect of this story because in the end it works perfectly with this story. The watch the evolution of Nate was more than beautiful to see. I FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK SO DARN MUCH!!!!!

A Review of Only You by Melanie Harlow

Nate and Emme - 5+++++ Stars

I absolutely LOVE the cover for this book! To me, it totally exemplifies these two characters. I loved the chemistry between them, even when they didn't realize how much of a relationship they had built with each other over the three years they lived across from each other. As a wedding planner, Emme has always believed in love and finding the ONE person that God meant for her to be with, that each failed relationship was only leading her to the right person. I loved Emme's relationship with her sisters and getting to see her cousin (Mia) from a previous book was a true highlight. I also thoroughly enjoyed the meaning behind 'Only You' from Nate's POV. This book gave me laughs, tears and a reason to believe in True Love again. I also loved how 11:11 played a part in this story. You want to make sure you pick this one up as soon as you can -- you really don't want to miss it!

Sexy Single Dad? Yes Please! Witty Banter? Oh Yeah! Super hot and steamy passion? Definitely!
Melanie Harlow's new Friends-to-Lovers romance will capture your heart and never let go!
Emme had a way of picking the wrong men, but that didn't stop her from believing in love and soul mates. She is funny, fiesty, and slightly prone to disaster. She gets herself into some hilarious situations only to be rescued by Nate, her sexy neighbor. Nate doesn't believe in love, and finds it hard to trust. But he likes that Emme needs him, even if she doesn't want to. The tables get turned when he finds out he is a father when his baby girl is left on his doorstep for him to take care of. Now he needs to depend on Emme for help. His initial reaction to his daughter is priceless! Nate and Emme make a great team and are scorching hot together. Nate is so swoony as he navigates being a new father and learning to love. There were so many comical moments but several emotional moments as well. I loved everything about this story from the charming characters to the hilarious and steamy story. I am also a huge fan of the grand gesture and this had a very sweet and romantic one! It was perfect!

Melanie Harlow is an amazing writer! She will bring you the good, the bad, and the sexy! I love Nate and Emme's story. I have read many romance backs with the "Surprise Baby" trope and what not, but Only You outshines it all. When we are introduced to Emme, I was laughing hard with her antics. Nate comes in and "saves the day" so to speak. You get a bit of their history and it really is hilarious. I love Emme with her clumsiness and all. With Nate's unexpected surprise, he realizes he needs Emme more than he could ever imagine. And I am not talking about help with his 2 month daughter!

This story has some amazing sexy scenes. It connects Nate and Emme to a new level of intensity. What was suppose to be friendship, only grows to more. The challenges were there for this couple, and sadly Nate pushes away. I had a few curse words for him and was hoping in the end, these two would make it.

Only You made me feel all the feels. I have a new book boyfriend and definitely have a claim on Nate. Watch out ladies! You will fall for Nate and Emme's love story fast and hard ;)

Swooooon!!! What a sweet read by Melanie Harlow!! I love Nate. I love Emme. And... I am so in love with this story.

This book is not what I expected. I was pleasantly surprised by Nate and Emme's friendship first. Their rapport and the ease in which they fit into each others life is endearing and fun. Nate, with his noncommittal and sometimes cold ways and Emme with all her sass and her dreams, couldn't be any more different but they're so good together. When Nate suddenly becomes a dad and ask Emme for help, it's a true testament of how strong their bond is and how much they truly care for each other.

It's no secret single dad stories are my kryptonite. I can 100% understand Emme's changing feelings as she witnesses Nate interact with his daughter. Ovaries exploding moments galore.

Only You is the kind of book where you give yourself a few hours and just lose yourself in a gorgeous story. It's the kind of book that melts your heart and your kindle along the way. This sweet, swoony, sexy read is my favorite kind of book and I'd highly recommend it to anyone!!

Another Incredible read from the amazing Melanie Harlow!! ONLY YOU has an original storyline that keeps you turning the pages. Neighbors & friends that are almost polar opposites. Nate is a gorgeous sexy divorce lawyer who doesn't believe in Happy Ever Afters and Emme is a Wedding Planner who can never find a decent guy to settle down with. They enjoy watching movies together now and again. Now add a surprise baby to the equation and Nate suddenly realizes just how much he depends on Emme for support and sees her entirely in a different light. I loved their chemistry together, their banter and how real they seemed to me. The steamy scenes when they finally get together are incredibly hot, be prepared!! Toe curling for sure as only Melanie can write!! There are so many great parts through out their love story, I don't want to spoil it by telling more. Just grab your copy on release day and enjoy!!! I have always loved all of Melanie's books and ONLY YOU is no exception. I highly recommend it to all who want to read something just little bit different. I absolutely loved it!!

Friends to Lovers - Check
Single Daddy - Check
Second Chance - Check

Melanie Harlow is always a one-click author for me and Only You is no exception! The story was different than any I have read before. I had all sorts of feels reading this book!

I loved most of the interactions between Nate and Emme! I also wanted to slap Nate silly a few times. Emme was so endearing! The way she centered Nate when he faced one of the biggest life changes a person ever goes through...PARENTHOOD!

Emme was there for Nate every step of the way and helped him figure out how to take care and love his baby girl. This made the pair grow closer together, but as the two grew closer, the more Nate realized he needed to put space between himself and Emme essentially pushing her away. The more time he spent away from Emme, the more he realized he didn't want to live without her. Question is, what lengths is this anti-marriage man willing to go to in order to win back the woman he can't seem to live without?

I highly recommend this book!

Five big Swoony Stars!!!

As always with a Melanie Harlow book I was hooked from the very beginning all the way to the very end. These two are so sweet and this story will make your heart very happy.

Sometimes life doesn’t go as expected. Sometimes things happen and your whole life changes. One minute you are a bachelor and the next you are a father. Never knowing that what you need is right in front of your face. Sometimes you are just too scared to see it, feel it and take it.

Nate and Emme are truly one of those friends to lovers romances. They both don’t even realize it till it’s a full blown love. We watch these two navigate Nate being a Dad, working through their feelings and figuring out that they both need each other.

It takes a few bumpy roads but in the end it’s only them.

Only You is a must read romance!
Highly recommended.

Another perfectly written story that will have you fall head over heals.

Nate is the ultimate in making me swoon all the swoony swoons.
He’s sexy, he’s single, he’s an Attorney and a single dad. What more could I ask for in a story? Ladies he will melt your heart and your panties.

Emme is one of those females you can’t help but want to be. She’s smart, driven, independent and loves huge. She’s not winey, or needy, she’s not weak. She’s my favorite kind of female.

Melanie writes the best characters, always men that we love to love, and always woman that kick butt.
This book was everything you could want and more. It was funny, sweet, romantic, full of banter, and a sweet little girl to help us all fall along the way. And let’s not forget about some favorites from the past that appear.
My heart is so full, I loved everything about this story. The way Melanie tells a story it’s almost like it’s effortless. She just pulls us all in. It’s just another reason why I will read and recommend EVERY BOOK SHE WRITES.

Gahhh! I adore Melanie Harlow, her writing is exquisite, her characters drive me crazy in the best way, and her stories are full of steam and heart! Only You is no exception. You have Nate, which, if you promise not to tell anyone, he wasn't my favorite in the beginning. Sure, he has the perfect guy look down, he's always a hero to our heroine, Emme, but he's also a cocky divorce lawyer and a man-whore. The redemption aspect of this story just stole my heart though, I loved how he grew throughout the book, total swoon-worthy material. Then you have Emme, an adorable wedding planner who is a ball of sassy, sweet, and smarts. Throw in a baby, and while it should have been more cheesy with that aspect, it was the cutest part of the book, just imagining this hot guy with a baby.
Front to back, Only You is a favorite of mine for this year. From the intense emotions that rolled through me, to the dichotomy of innocence and salaciousness of the book, I craved it all, and have no doubt you will too.

Wow another beautiful story by Melanie Harlow! I loved everything about this book. Emme is so awesome and completely relatable. She’s reeling from a bad breakup and has another emergency that has her hot neighbor coming to her rescue. Nate is swoonworthy from page one! The banter, playful sarcastic ribbing and genuine caring for each other is very apparent. Well Emme is definitely able to pay him back when Nate finds a newborn baby left at his doorstep. Laugh out loud moments are plenty as Nate tries to navigate fatherhood. What neither Emme or Nate expected was for incredible chemistry that’s too strong to ignore grabbing them both and pulling them under. The problem? Nate is a divorce lawyer who does not believe in love and Emme well she is the ultimate romantic! Emme’s sisters and friends are so incredible. Emme & Nate ride the emotional roller coaster with real, vulnerable feelings. One thing for sure, you can’t help absolutely rooting for these two to find their HEA ❤️

Cute story, cute characters but it's very unoriginal. Handsome bachelor afraid of commitment finds out he's a dad. Adorable neighbor dreams of getting married. They're best friends but the baby changes things, makes him realize he wants more, then he doesn't, then he does. No surprises, nothing special. If you like this type of story but want more substance try Forever Right Now by Emma Scott.

Another great book from Melanie Harlow! She's one of my go-to authors.
This book starts off with wedding planner Emmy receiving an invite to her ex & former employee's wedding. Enter sexy, charming neighbor Nate (who's also a divorce attorney) to the rescue to extinguish the minor fire Emme set to destroy the invitation. I love how Melanie always has a great mix of humor and all the feels in her stories. I had some good laughs I haven't had from a book in some time, but also had a few tears along the way. Add in the surprise of a baby girl left on Nate's doorstep, Emme is now the one coming to Nate's rescue for a change.
I loved Emme so much and connected with her from the very beginning. As put together as Nate seems, he has issues of his own to work through. I loved that we got to revisit the Frenched series characters as well. Makes me want to go back and read those books and fall in love with those characters all over again.

My blog partner has been an avid Melanie Harlow fan for, well forever! I decided to take a chance last year with From This Moment. I was hooked!! So, when Only You came available to read and review, I knew that I needed to try another book by her. I have to say, I am a little hooked! I really do need to binge read all of her work here soon!! Maybe this summer by the pool.

Anyway, I digress… Only You is a friends/ neighbors to lovers story that was just plain old fun to read.

Emme Devine, in a nut shell, is a hot mess when we first meet her. She has just been invited to her ex-boyfriends wedding. Needless to say, this invitation leads to a FIRING disaster that her neighbor and friend Nate Peasrson “saves” her from. The thing is, Emme saves Nate more in this book than he saves her.

I loved that Nate and Emme have a good foundation as friends first before they become more. I also love the heart that Emme has throughout this book. She was the perfect character to bring this divorce attorney to his knees.

“The very first night when you told me to make a wish, I wished that the next man you fell in love with would love you back the way you deserved. And he does.”
~ Melanie Harlow, Only You (One and Only #1)

After this second book, I have to tell you, I am such a Melanie Harlow fan! I am so glad that I took a chance and read her books. I think that everyone needs her books in their life!

Sooooo sweet and sexy!! With a very relatable heroine.

“But I want you to stay.”

“Nate,” she whispered. “Tell me what to do.”

I reached for her. “Come here.”

I am a big fan of Melanie Harlow and I picked up this book because I was in the mood for something purely romantic and sweet. Nate is a handsome divorce attorney who lives across the hall from Emme. She keeps dating all the wrong guys and doesn't think she's asking for too much - just a man who loves her and is honest with her.

All Nate knows is that marriages don't last and that Emme is sexy and adorable and off-limits. And add a surprise baby to the mix and you have a delightful, funny and perfectly swoony story.

"I’d wanted to say Yes, come back later, have dinner with me again, lie with me again, and this time, don’t leave. Let me hold you in my arms as we fall asleep. Let me breathe you in all night. And whatever you do, don’t let me push you away, because I’m going to try."

Emme agrees to help Nate with his baby daughter, since he has zero experience with children and a lifestyle that doesn't exactly have room for a newborn. Nate and Emme really like each other and decide to try being together but without any heavy commitment to anything permanent. While this might sound like a familiar trope, it really works well here and the writing is sexy, witty and very, very enjoyable.

I loved the male POV here mixed with the sweetness of the story. While sexy an swoony, this story also had a note of poignancy that I really loved.

"Why did lightning strike for some people, and not for others? Why did some of us pick the wrong people over and over again, and others got it right the first time? Why were we told as kids to listen to our hearts when things like geography or timing or luck seemed to matter so much more? What did our hearts know, anyway?"

If you are in the mood for a super-romantic, but funny and fast-paced book, then you will love 'Only You.' I also adored the fact that my favorite characters from 'Frenched' made an appearance here (and you MUST read that book!) If you want to laugh, cry and be swept off your feet, then definitely read 'Only You.'

“I wished for you,” I told him ... “For this, for us.”

This was a very sweet and smooth ride.. The story about Nate and Emme two good friends with diffrent goals and diffrent lives living in the same building just across from each other..

Emme is a beautiful woman who had so many bad experiences with men and love.. she doesn't want to fall for another man who will not commit or wont want the same happily every after.. she doesn't want a heartbreak all over again.. but nothing is written and everything is about to change with such sweet and unexpected arrival..

Nate living in "fear" not wanting to fall in love or give his love to anybody.. he has a wall in his heart.. he thinks love is pain, sacrifice and nothing but a heartache.. he doesn't want a woman in his life, a family or any of that.. he was used to work, fun and women leaving his home after a fun night.. but never wanted more, never seeked for more.. until she arrived unexpectedly.. she is sweet, small and doesn't even know how to speak but still she's already messing up with their lives..

love the friendship Nate and Emme have.. they're fun and mature together .. even though Nate keeps trying to put a wall between them .. being afraid of letting go.. but Emme has the power to bring those walls down..

Nate had a past that is not letting him be free or feel free.. he's been carrying this sadness and memories for so long ... he has put so many walls because of this sad memories.. now the question is if he would be able to open his heart for Emme and Paisley..

Love the story, the characters.. Emme was a strong heroine even if at times seems like she gave too much.. and believed too much but she always had her priorities in check.. Nate was a good man, with a good heart but fear and sadness kept him away from what he most wanted and needed .. love, family and trust.. nothing will ever be the same, if he never let himself go..

great secondary characters.. Stella, Rachel, Maren all of them helped to make this story more wonderful and with a great happy ending ... just brilliant..

Can't wait to read Only Him the story of Dallas and Maren!!

Emme and Nick are neighbors in the same apartment building. They have forged a friendship of sorts which pretty much involves hanging out occasionally watching movies together at his place when they are both at a loose end.

Emme looks at the world through Emme coloured glasses, believing in love and happy ever afters. However, she has been burnt in the past because for her sexual intimacy with a guy is an emotional experience and she goes all in pretty quickly.

‘Why did lightening strike for some people, and not for others? Why did some of us pick the wrong people over and over again, and others got it right the first time?’

Nate, is the complete opposite, he has a revolving door of hook-ups that fulfil his need to have no strings sex. He never wants to marry and forget any form of relationship, he does not do feelings at all. He has a busy life working long hours, working out at the gym regularly and releasing tension with naked women.

So it will come as no surprise then that when he finds a small baby girl in a car seat outside his door with a ‘congratulations you’re a dad and tag you’re it’ type of note, his whole world flips on its axis. Holy f***, he is in deep crap now. You know that saying about not knowing how you would handle something until you are going through it? Yup, well that certainly applies to Nick. He finds himself elbow deep in dirty nappies, baby formula and has forgotten what sleep is.

Emme is more than happy to help him out until he comes to grips with his new life but seeing him with his daughter is doing crazy things to her libido and messing with her heart. To be fair, I felt the same way too, Nick is so good with Paisley and he falls pretty fast for his cute baby daughter. He is also feeling conflicted about what he is feeling for Emme.

‘I needed something to anchor me in the chaos that had become my life. I needed to feel like I was going to be okay.’

Nick makes a habit of sabotaging anything good in his life, as soon as he begins to ‘feel’ he puts distance between himself and what is creating these feelings – so naturally he does the same with Emme.

‘Why was I such a dick? Was I afraid of giving her too much hope? Was I trying to lower her expectations even further?’

This story is really about the transformation of a guy into a man. Nick does a lot of growing up and soul searching to become the person he never knew he could be. I absolutely loved the plot and the journey of how Nick went from self centred to self sacrificing. Loved this!

The single parent trope is my KRYTONITE so when I heard that Melanie Harlow was writing an insta-daddy tale, I knew that I was gonna be ruined! And man did she pack an emotional wallop with ONLY YOU!

THE STORY:
Handsome, successful divorce attorney Nate Pearson is an anti-love, anti-commitment kind a dude, but he sure enjoys his no strings attached dalliances with the ladies! But this one and done womanizer is in for a mighty big wakeup call when one of his one night stands comes with a mighty lasting consequence! FATHERHOOD! To say he freaks out when he discovers an 8 week old baby girl crying on his doorstep with a note saying HE’S the daddy is an understatement! Baby Paisley is a byproduct of meaningless weekend hookup with a woman he met at a tax law seminar but man oh man his feelings for said baby is the furthest thing from inconsequential.

This gorgeous, suit wearing, emotionally-aloof alpha is the LAST MAN ON EARTH/b> that Emme Devine, a disaster-prone, woefully unlucky-in-love wedding planner, should be lusting after! Because despite their easy friendship, these two next door neighbors basically bicker over everything—except James Bond movies--and to say they want different things out of life is putting it mildly. The footloose and fancy free bachelor longs to play the field indefinitely whereas Emme is a hopeless romantic who dreams of happily ever after with white picket fences. But even though Nate is mighty good at rescuing her when “Calamity” comes a knocking, the poor guy is clueless about how to raise a baby girl. So when Emme gets the opportunity to return the favor--and rescue HIM for once--she can hardly resist!

Before long, the close proximity stirs up pent up desires and they surrender to their red-hot temptation. But there are many bumps in the road along the way! Against all odds, can these two polar opposites be granted the grandest wish of all—true love?

MY THOUGHTS:
Melanie Harlow has become my GO-TO AUTHOR for sweet, sexy and swoon-worthy romances, and I swear I become more and more enchanted with her writing with each subsequent book! And she totally nailed it with ONLY YOU, a friends to lovers romance with an insta-daddy twist! I was truly enraptured in this story from start to finish, and I love the delicious infusion of romance, humor, steam, aching tenderness and emotional poignancy throughout. This book is deep and emotional, but warm and funny too, and the between the sheets action is so SCORCHING HOT!

Oh my word! I l just loved both these characters SO MUCH. Nate is an uber sexy, buttoned up, jaded alpha male who thinks with his head-not his heart. Yet even though the devastatingly handsome lawyer is not looking to settle down, he is NOT a jerk, and has a surprising tender and adorably neurotic side. Especially with baby Paisley.

And omg! Those heart-melting scenes where Daddy Nate, who knows nada about babies, is thrown headfirst into fatherhood and slowly but surely learns the ropes ? OVARY. EXPLOSION. GOODNESS. I mean is there seriously ANYTHING swoonier than a big, hunky guy cradling a tiny baby against his chest? I THINK NOT!

Meanwhile, Emme is a breath of fresh air! Sweet and feisty, girly and gregarious, she is the kind of fun loving heroine who wishes on stars and always wears her heart on her sleeve. And what a HUGE heart she has! I dug not only her incurable romantic streak, but her warm, giving nature. She totally steps up to help Nate, who she secretly covets, through the terrifying prospect of unexpected fatherhood, and I love how she does so without ever thinking the worst of him or ever passing judgment.

The romance that develops between Emme and Nate is just so delightful and scintillatingly sexy! Despite their differences, these two friends ultimately prove to be each other’s perfect match…and the way that adorable little Paisley is a catalyst in bringing these unlikely lovebirds together is nothing short of majestic. I especially adored how as they both fell in love with his baby girl, they fell harder and harder for with each other!

But they have some MIGHTY big obstacles to overcome, especially Nate’s relationship-phobia, stemming from a heartwrenching past tragedy, which prove to be a huge stumbling block in this union. My heart hurt for both of them as they tried to navigate their way through some pretty big emotional land mines!

Although this book reads as a total standalone, I also really enjoyed the cameos from the Frenched series, which complemented the story BEAUTIFULLY, and the Sunday brunches with the heroine’s sisters, Maren and Stella, were highly entertaining!

BOTTOM LINE:
ONLY YOU checked off all my boxes for a captivating read. The storyline is rich and nuanced, the characters endearing and relatable, and there is palpable romantic discord, sparkling banter, hot and sexy times, breathtaking tenderness, searing emotional intensity and finally, a sigh-worthy HEA that WILL bring tears of joy to your eyes! Now I shall wait with bated breath for ONLY HIM, which…eeep…is coming this summer!

A MUST READ!
