I greatly enjoyed the book, though I wish the extended epilogue had more info regarding the aunt & cousin getting what they richly deserved. Mine ended with her waiting for her mother which was a bit disappointing.

Poor editing ruined this book for me. There are so many incorrect words used that I lost count. "Complement" instead of "compliment", "whit", not 'wit", "parameters", not "perimeters". The list goes on. In addition, there is a plethora of missing words, plus incorrect verb tenses made so many sentences nonsensical. I also don't think guests at masquerade balls are announced. Isn't anonymity the point until the attendees unmask? Mentally editing a book as I go along is not my idea of a pleasant read. It's a shame, really, because the story is sweet. This is my least favorite story by Ayles. Please get a competent editor!

I strongly dislike giving a bad review, but this book is almost unreadable because there are SO MANY typos, misspellings and problems with synonyms. For instance, waste is an excess of something that is sometimes disposed of. A waist is the mid-area of a woman's body. Misuse of words like this is very distracting and happens rather frequently in this book. Usually these types of errors don't bother me much. But spell check is not a good substitute for a good proofreader. The storyline is also trite and lack of anything interesting happening in the plot makes it rather boring. Good luck in your future books Ms. Ayles.

After skimming the previous reviews, I must be the only reader who found all the grammatical errors, typos and poor wording distracting. I'm always willing to read clean, Christian romance novels but this book was a struggle to get through because of poor editing.

I really enjoyed this book, but the editing is horrendous (as many others have stated). When I realized there was an extended epilogue, I even suffered through the editing a second time so the story would be fresh for the epilogue. Would you believe it was only THREE pages?? Completely useless! No answered questions to complete the story. I thought it was a download problem so, as suggested, applied to BookFunnel for help. Their answer was they "got the same thing on their download, so yes, it is just three pages". I have emailed the author about it but no response yet. Thoroughly disappointed. Why have an "extended" if it's not? In spite of this, I will keep reading this author's books.

The fairytale trope is in my top ten. The Cinderella story is in the top three of that trope. Consequently, I was compelled to read this version in it's entirety. Not an easy thing to do considering how poorly this was edited. The potential was here to be an engaging story. The characters well developed. The pacing good. The ending satisfying. These kept me plodding through the myriad of editing errors that proliferated this book, but kept throwing me out of the story making it difficult to truly enjoy a potentially good story.

I absolutely loved the way Miss Abby wrote this book. It was full of love. The Aunt was a bitter old lady who got what she deserved. She was unhappy with her choice of marriage mates and blamed the one who benefited from it. Instead of being glad her niece came to help she worked her like a servant. She was mean and malicious and suspicious. Read this book I'm sure you will enjoy the outcome.

The story was trite -- predictable. Characters were nothing new. Had a hard time believing that the heroin out up with so much abuse so meekly. Also impossible that the couple didn't recognize each other immediately. So many typos.

Great story and I enjoy reading Abby Ayles's books but the editing is terrible! I will stop reading a book if it's poorly edited, if the author isn't trying why should I? I usually finish her books because I like her style and the stories are clean. She is my one exception to the rule.

Loved the characters and the story! My favorite part was when the two were flirting with each other at the masquerade ball. Loved his desperation to find his love. I would have liked to read about how the two weddings happened and details. Also, I would have enjoyed hearing about Mrs. Henderson and her oldest daughter fared after the weddings. Otherwise.... I truly enjoyed the story.

Fast paced. Not a lot of page after page telling you what color the drapes are. Gets to the story right away. Great twists and turns. Suspense. Great characters. Didn't want to put it down. On the down side, I don't know who edited, but there are several mix ups on words, names, etc. Otherwise, very well written.

While trying to make amends between her mother and aunt--Lady Louisa might leave herself with a broken heart. I enjoyed the book because it had moral and value with a sinister side-kick to the story. Sometimes being selfless can hurt one-self.

Yes, we all love Cinderella stories; however, this novel is in need of good editing and proofreading. Storyline is good, characters re well developed, but the misuse of vocabulary was terribly distracting. Please get help.

Love fairytales and this was a great one. Hated the way the heroine was treated so poorly by her Aunt and cousins.
I was very proud of her help with everyone. Loved Cinderella all my life and this was a great story.

It would be a great story, but the Kindle edition was a grammatical and spelling DISASTER!! Some paragraphs I had to reread in order to make sense of what was written. The last chapter actually says BETA in the middle of a paragraph... twice. I read to the end because I wanted to know what happened, but I will be sure to avoid this author & publisher with future downloads, as I am not sure who is responsible for this embarrassing release.

The book was enjoyable. The writing was nothing to write home about but it wasn’t bad. There were a few blatant errors in the book, but it was clearly meant to be a beta version - as stated in the very text

Lady Louisa's mother wanted to make a gesture toward her estranged sister who had recently lost her husband. She arranges for Louisa to visit her Aunt and cousins in the hopes that Louisa may be able to repair the rift between them. Louisa is determined to make the visit have a positive outcome, but ends up being taken for granted and used much as a maid in her Aunt's home. A chance meeting with a strange gentleman as Louisa walks to town will set the stage for much distrust and harsh feeling between these two when they meet again and Louisa learns he is a Duke, and he learns she misrepresented her identity. As the story progresses Lady Louisa suffers many challenges with her Aunt and cousins as her Aunt schemes how to present her eldest daughter in a favorable light to the Duke despite the fact that the family should be observing their year of mourning. The Duke has his own challenges as his uncle has threatened to with hold his inheritance if he does not find a bride. The characters do indeed remind you of the stepmother and her daughters in Cinderella, complete with the Duke searching for a masked lady who flees the ball. The story moves at good clip and fully held my attention to the end and through the epilogues. Toward the last half there were many spelling errors, which distracted from the story, However the story and plot were so interesting, that it overall was a great read, and I recommend it unreservedly. If you are not already a fan of Abby Ayles, you will be by the stories end.

I love fairytale adaptations and I really enjoy seeing an author able to express a fairytale without being too overly obvious (or trying to follow the original exactly) in the portrayal. I think this did a wonderful job providing elements of the tale but still being able to show its own storyline. I loved the many wonderful characters and their involvement in the story.

The ending was a bit rushed, to the point (I miss having the opportunity to enjoy basking in the moment when a couple comes together and all the pieces fit into place). Also, it always saddens me when the cover art can’t match to the character in the story. I love the reference to the masquerade, but why couldn’t the dress be green like in the story? (I wish they could read the story before creating the cover. It would be so much more enjoyable for the reader to have matching art).

Who doesn’t love a Cinderella story? This one does not disappoint. It has the mean step mother (in this case, her aunt) , the two sisters (one is mean, one is not), a handsome, and very wise prince, and of course our Cinderella, Lady Louisa, who is not the prettiest girl at the ball, but the most interesting and bewitching. The Duke must search for his missing Cinderella in the green dress when he realizes that she is the one. Very entertaining start to finish. Loved the characters, good and bad, loved the dialogue, and of course, the charming love story!

In "A Cinderella for the Duke" we follow Lady Louisa, a character in the previous books by Ms. Ayles, while she matures. Although shy and reserved, during her stay with her aunt her daughters, Lady Louisa discovers her strengths and, through some twists and turns, her happily ever after.

Ms. Ayles has taken a classic fairy tail and adjusted it in a clean and sweet regency romance. It was a truly captivating story I couldn't put down. I highly recommend it for all fans of regency romance.

A Cinderella for the Duke was a wonderful read, and I enjoyed it a great deal. Lady Louisa Fraser goes to spend time with her aunt and two cousins in the country. She basically becomes a servant in the house. Henry Vaughan, the Duke of Rowland, must get himself a wife or wait until he turns 30 to get his inheritance. To watch these two characters meet and grow has been great fun. Anyone that loves the Cinderella story line will enjoy this book.

I loved reading this enchanting book. Lady Louise has been sent to help out her aunt after the death of her uncle. Even though the lady inquestion hasn't spoken to her sister in years she hopes this will bring the families back together. Although she is treated more like a servant than a lady she has many great adventures and learn the tru meaning of being the best you can be under all circumstances.

Lady Louisa has always considered her self as plain and likely to never marry. She is however a selfless and giving person. She grows stronger and more confident through her experience at her bitter Aunt's home, meets a dashing duke and finds direction in her life while helping others. A charming love story.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC copy of this book.

This rendition of the "Cinderella Story" , was fresh and believable. The relationship between Louisa's aunt and cousins reminded me of one of my own. Enjoyable characters and the confusion between Louisa and the Duke's romance is typical. Loved this one!

A little slow at the beginning, but as the excitement grew, it was most enjoyable. Enjoyed the take off from Cinderella.. Characters were enjoyable.. even the scruffy, self centered aunt and her likewise daughter.
