The writing is very simplistic, the plot predictable. Ironically, although the heroine is the one with trust issues, she is dishonest by deliberately neglecting to tell the hero certain things about her family's past.

It's not a bad book. There just isn't any substance to it.

Subject material did not feel comfortable the way it was initially presented. Didn't bother to get into it further. I can understand a situation of being a child out of wedlock a long time ago, but the author has lots of slams on the mother, the sisters, and the father. It's like she's setting up the horeine to be the "good" person. Presentation didn't appeal to me.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were very likable and had depth. I've found in some romance stories, I never really care what happens to the people as they are too one dimensional. These people immediately drew me in. This is a well written story, clean, no language and great characters. What more could you ask for? Going on to read Everly's sisters story now!

I received this book from the author through a book giveaway. I decided to review and this is my honest opinion. I am not normally a romance or a western reader, but this tale has me feeling good. It was cozy, scary, compassionate, tense, funny, maddening, and enjoyable all together at once. Kay Dawson has a light touch with her writing skills with the ability to describe character, scenes, and relationships in a short and potent way. This is a short, smooth read without overt sexuality and coarse language. I appreciated that aspect. It also made me ponder trust, criticism, and the ability to forgive; something we all need to do on a frequent basis. Books such as this leave me feeling that no matter how hard I try every day to live in a decent manner, I must try even harder and not get complacent. Thank you, Ms. Dawson!

This was a thoroughly enjoyable book. Although it was fewer than 200 pages it portrayed the characters in a believable way and kept my attention throughout. I will be reading the next book in the series soon. I highly recommend this for fans of mail order brides books.

If you want an evening with the romance version of a box of candy floss. This is exactly the right book. There is nothing here to offend and it is very well written (just remember just like candy floss, too much at once might give you tummy trouble. :-))

Thank you for writing a clean book. Too many mail order bride books are full of graphic sex and that really isn't necessary. I always enjoy reading about mail order brides and then to have this be a clean book is a treasure. Thank you.

This book delivered as promised. It was a clean, MOB, western. The threat of taking the girls from the uncle seemed like mixing too much of the present with the past. Guess I am a stickler for details.
