I don't like badly written romance, or romances with the same tired old plots. This book was worth reading. The main characters were very lovable; the sex scenes were steamy and very well-written (none of that "he laved her . . . . " going on here); the plot was just plain fun. A nice beach read. I wouldn't pay $8 or $9, but I enjoyed it. True, you have to suspend disbelief, but who wants realistic anyway?

I usually read much more serious mysteries or investigative procedurals, however this book was a nice way to break that up. It wasn't like a romance novel and it wasn't like a whodunit. It was an interesting mash-up of the two with a lighthearted tone. It was an easy read. I'd describe it as the book to read while you sip cocktails at the pool or beach.

This book was something that I wanted to read because I had just finished another series and I wanted to try something different. While it was interesting at times I decided not to continue reading the series. It just was not what I was looking for. But, it was a good book overall.

I really enjoyed this book. Roberta, transforming herself into Bobbie, was great to see. After years of not rocking the boat in order to keep her job and her husband she ends up losing both anyway. She decides to make herself over into someone she can be proud of, stronger and more sure of herself.
Bobbie follows her husband to the town where he has met up with is high school sweetheart. She wants to show him what he's lost by dumping her. She gives herself pep talks to keep her confidence up. It was great to see her grow and become who she wanted to be.
The characters are hilarious and scarily acurate for small towns. Bobbie wants to fit in and be liked, but where Roberta would have caved at the first sign of trouble, Bobbie takes a deep breath and forges on.
This story had it all. Mystery, murder, a bad boy who was really good at being bad and had a soft heart, a hunky sheriff who was anything but stupid, nasty villains, who deserved what they got, and great sex scenes. What more could a person want in a book.

I loved Bobbie Jones and the other characters in the book were interesting. The twists and turns had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put the book down. I have been telling everyone they have to read this book, there are some laugh out loud moments and enouogh suspense to keep you guessing.

I really enjoyed this book! It was like the subtitle said: it was funny, it was mysterious and it was sexy! No tears involved with this book, but I didn't figure out who did it until the author wanted me to!

She's Gotta Be Mine begins when Bobbie decides to completely change herself outside and inside. Her husband just left her for his high school sweetheart, and she has no idea what she's going to do. So, instead of wallowing in self pity, she decides to go to Cottonmouth and show him what he's missing. But she never expected to meet Nick, and to have problems when someone is murdered.
This book was okay. I liked it, but the heroine drove me nuts sometimes. Other than that I liked the plot line, and I enjoyed most of the characters. It made me laugh quite a few times, and be happy about the whole woman power thing too. :)
So, this was a nice simply read to pass the time with, but it wasn't something I was emotionally invested in. It was still enjoyable though. But I'm not sure if I will read anymore in this series.

I purchased this book because previous reviewer's said it is funny. I just finished it and found nothing at all amusing. There is nothing special about this book. It is not a can't put it down/can't wait to pick up but it is just an okay read.

The book description on the store said” if you’re a fan of Bella Andre, Susan Andersen, Rachel Gibson, Jennifer Crusie, and Janet Evanovich, then step into the world of Jennifer Skully!” So, I took a chance and read a new author.
The hero, Nick Angel, had lived away from Cottonwood (a very small town) for twenty years. He moved back at the age of 38 after the death of his parents. He was an outsider even though he had been born and raised in the town. He did not care to dispel the rumors of being a serial killer. Many people saw him bury roadkill (tossed on his lawn,) and thought he was torturing animals which fit the stereotype of a killer.
Meanwhile, Bobbie Jones, the heroine, moved to Cottonwood and rented the house across the street from Nick Angel. After 15 years of marriage, Bobbie’s husband left her for his first love. She followed him to Cottonwood to prove she had value he had not recognized. Bobbie was warned away from Nick, but she thought she could use Nick make her husband jealous.
This book was a mixture of too many elements. It cannot be summarized. It has been a week since I finished reading it and I am still not sure how I feel about it. Despite laugh out loud moments, it was not a romantic comedy. It was not a young adult story or a coming-of-age book since Bobbie was 40 years old. However, she was just discovering her identity which usually features college-age woman. The first half read like a romantic comedy. Then the tone shifted to romantic suspense. I almost skipped to the end to see how the mystery was resolved. I probably won’t read her again. Perhaps I was expecting too much?

Review Sassy and satisfying read. Solid 4.5. I am getting stingy with my 5 stars.
Roberta has been dumped by her husband in favor of his high school sweetheart, a sweetheart Roberta helped him find so he could find "closure". He finds closure all right and moves to Cottonmouth to be with his ex, Closure-girl.
Not having read the romance heroine rulebook, Roberta does not go into a decline, does not grovel and beg him to come back, does not look the other way. She dyes her hair red, changes her name to Bobbie, gets a sassy, slightly risqué wardrobe, quits her exciting (not) job as an accountant, and moves to Cottonmouth too.
She's threatened by closure girl, is interested in the serial killer with great pecs across the street, and gets an awesome job at the greasy spoon where men tip based on how cute her rear end looks. Okay, so that's not politically correct, this month it's even more politically incorrect, but sometimes a girl needs t be appreciated for more than her little grey cells, Monsieur Poirot! Especially when said chick has turned 40, been dumped, and hasn't had sex in forever.
There is a mystery to be solved other than why her husband left her for Closure-girl who is NOT a nice woman, AND Closure-girl gets her comeuppance which is always nice when you want vengeance in your heart for the downtrodden, abandoned and ill-used.
The relationship with her serial killer neighbor starts off slow and bumpy, but when it hits it stride, IT HITS ITS STRIDE if you know what I mean.

I started the first chapter and was not sure this book would be for me, but I was completely hooked within a few pages. She has great characters and they don't feel as though they're cut from a cookie cutter. Some fun twists and turns.

I gave this 3 stars because it is basically light, fun reading; I believe, as it was intended. Writing is decent and plot interesting, although I found the reversal of the principal male character's feelings and personality to be pushing "suspension of disbelief". Not nearly as bad as many of the negative reviews and not anywhere as good as the 5 star people would have you believe.

Great book! Always love a story where a woman does a complete makeover and learns to move on with her life. Usually she gains confidence in herself and this story does just that. Love the lead character. The story is pretty interesting too.

I was pleasantly surprised to not have to trip over the typical typos, grammatical and punctuation errors found in free ebooks! Although the leading lady was annoying at times, it was refreshing to watch her grow. I'm going to read the sequel!

Even though the story isn't believable, I thought it was fun and liked that her husband learned how wrong he had been to leave her. The thing I didn't like, I wish someone had mentioned this in a review before I bought the book and got interested in it. I HATE to listen or read God's name being taken in vain. This book did that several times and I can't even count how many times the characters say Jesus or Jesus Christ. Lots and lots. Really, it was over the top in my opinion. I find that to be disrespectful and before everyone starts jumping all over me for that, I know there are others who agree and I'm just warning them the way I wish someone else had warned me

If you enjoy funny romance/mystery, you will enjoy this book. I really liked all of the small town gossip & clicks. I don't think I will think of "the Cookie Monster" the same again! If you want to know more, read this book!

I downloaded this book because it seemed like was a good read and it was. I loved the setting and the characters that Haynes and Scully had in the book. Especially naming the ex girlfriend Cookie Monster. Overall I gave the book five stars because it was a page turner for me. I have to stop now before I have to give a "Spoiler Alert".

I loved this book! It was funny and the characters so likeable! It was sexy and a good storyline. There were some twists and I really wanted the two main characters to end up together.... Is won't say if they did or not!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was funny, entertaining and overall great. Similar style to Janet evanovich ( in my opinion). The book had me going right till the end. There was just the right amount of detail (unlike other books that I find I tend to skip over pages) without getting bogged down. I've just bought the 2nd book in this series and can't wait to start it tonight.

Wonderful from the start, lovable characters, sexy as hell and hands down the best book I've read in ages. Could not go to sleep for wondering what would happen next. I mean I stayed up until 2AM devouring She's Gotta Be Mine. Being an early to bed, early to rise kinda gal ~ that was way weird for me. Bobbie Jones is on the rebound after being dumped by her schmuck of a husband for his long lost, high school sweetie (that's still married to Daddy big bucks). Bobbie embarks with a noble cause of sticking it to her man, then finds herself in love, and fighting to clear her soon to be ex's name from a murder he didn't commit. Twists and turns abound in this delightful romantic, mystery.

Nice fun book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was rather surprised by the negative remarks. I enjoy books by this author. Sometimes they are a bit silly but since I want to be entertained I find that is a plus not a negative.
