This book had potential but it failed. The characters are superficial and are more stereotypical than believable. It read like an adult after school special or a poorly done Hallmark movie. If you're looking for a mindless read, go for it, but if you're looking for a good book, skip it.

This story was great very inspiring for people who fell bad about there weight. My daughter and her best friend are very obsessive about there weight. So much that there into hard training and they are never happy about themselves. Her friend won't even be in a house if they are eating she is so obsessed with their weight. The thing is they are not over weight. I am going to recommend this book to them.

Book Review: Picture Perfect
By: Alessandra Thomas

Cat gains sixty pounds due to a horseback riding accident. This changes everything she ever was. Adjusting to this drastic physical appearance change proves to be challenging for her.

Stories like this are necessary. Being self-conscious and having self image problems is very common. To have a story plot expressing this issue helps to notice the problem. Noticing gives those who suffer from it a chance to heal. Helps to see how others really look at you, revealing that the criticism is really your own.

This book reminds me of the saying, ”Oh how the tables turn!” It also reminds me that life changes and that's okay, it's just how we deal with it that matters. How we see it and deal with it determines if it's a good life experience or not. It's your choice :-)

Please, Anyone with body issues (Yes, you - you know you think everyone else is prettier, thinner, curvier, anything- than you!) Read this book! It's almost as good as therapy and good for your heart, too. Not too graphic, but sexy and loving.

Loved this story! Couldn't stop reading until it was finished. What I loved most is how the heroine found it in herself to love who she is, not who she was. And for the hero to to remember that in order to be a real hero, it is in the acknowledgement of how one rises out of the ugliness that resides within. Will definitely read something else by this author!

This girl was real, I felt everything she was going through. Cat wow what a story she has and Nate...gorgeous. The story just fell short for me. Not enough detail in parts and too much in others. I felt it ended way to easily and fast. It was an ok read. I think the author does a good job in getting the issue across but felt short in the story department.

I would like to thank Ms Thomas because this book spoke to me. Even though it is fiction, the potential shown in Cat's story for what can be achieved once peace with your size is made is inspiring. We should all be less judgmental of others and more critical of how we treat each other in spite of our appearances instead. Everyone has a story.

I absolutely love this book. It was soooooooo heart warming. I understand where Cat is coming from. I understand how it feels to think nobody will love you for you because of your body, and how nothing fits. I'm a plus sized girl and I hate myself everyday for the way I eat and how I don't push myself to do things. But I REFUSE to let that make me think I'm unattractive. This book is one of those books that teach you to love you for you and who cares what anybody else thinks ? They aren't worth your time. Just know that you don't have to be skinny to be beautiful. Just remember to love your body and

Enjoyable read! I like the fact that the lead character is not "picture perfect" and finds how to like herself in her own skin. Most stories just deal with issues, but she continually has issues related to her looks that several of us go through at some point or another.

I honesty just found out about this book yesterday! I read an amazing review by Asheley at Into The Hall of Books and had to go get me a copy. Even though I knew this sounded good I had no idea it was going to keep me up all night. I totally needed this! I think every women, and maybe some men, could relate in some way to Picture Perfect.

Happy reading,
Rebecca

I simply loved this book. This addresses the issue that plagues millions of women. Will look forward to her next book. Ladies if the man you like doesn't like you because of your size forget him and move on. There is someone worthy waiting for you. Remember one man's garbage is another man's treasure !

This story of Cat, Catherine finding her way back to loving herself was excellent. Nate had a huge influence with her in starting to believe in herself and her beauty again, just by treating her exactly as she was, beautiful. Picture Perfect is a really enjoyable story, especially if you are someone struggling to fit in.

I really liked the book up until the end. SPOILER!!! After the main character finally accepted the fact that she is beautiful no matter what size she is and that she doesn't need a man to tell her that, she gets back together with the guy who made her feel like crap.

What can I say, I completely felt like this character. Every girl has been there where they don't feel good enough. Where we don't feel right in our own skin. This book made me feel like I was reading a story about my own life. What an amazing book that really makes you see that you are not the only one out there that has body image issues.
Cat was the ultimate character, sensitive but strong. I loved her. The determination that she has to be "back to normal" is something that every woman should read.

This was such an awesome story with a great message. So many girls suffer from poor body image and I am no stranger to it. It is hard to accept the changes in your body from 17 to 25 to 50 especially in this society which is so judgemental... I loved the characters but most of all I loved the message!

What a heartbreaking, strong and wonderful story about loving yourself and realizing you have to love yourself. This book made me laugh and cheer and cry. No one is perfect, but everyone has something beautiful about them. This is a great book about how words can really damage someone's confidence.

I usually read time travel romance books, but I got this book as a free download, and couldn't put it down!! When I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about the characters. It was a relatable issue for me to read about her body image issues. I'm just sad the book is over.

I love, love, love this book. So many romance books describe their characters as "thin". I am a plus size person and struggle with seeing and reading what society thinks of the "normal" size of a woman. This book is absolutely wonderful. No matter what size you are, there is someone that will love the size you are. LOVE IT!!!!

This book is inspiring and motivational. Every girl in the world including myself have had image issues or experienced an injury like the one or similar to the one Cat experiences and this book addresses those issues and encourages us to love the skin we're in. Because if we don't who will. Every girl deserves a Nate to love them unconditionally and make them feel desirable.

Good story about learning to love yourself which is a lesson a lot of men and women (including me!) need to learn. If you've ever struggled with your weight you will understand where she's coming from and if you've not you might learn why friends or family that do struggle with there weight feel the way they do.

First book I have read from Alessandra Thomas. I loved it. At first I thought it was boring and was going to stop reading it. But I pushed through. I feel in love with Cat. When than she met Nate and fell in love.

I honestly really liked this book. I could feel her pain because the same thing happened to me. I was 115 pounds and then got hurt and gained 60 pounds. I felt her embarrassment, love, restraint, and happiness. This book opens your eyes from the stereotypical way of beauty!

It started like any other, but the farther I went the more I found myself in the words, the more I needed the characters to come out right in the end. A wonderful story of finding respect, for yourself and others, but mostly for yourself first.

Gorgeous little love story about loving not only the person that fits you perfectly but loving yourself. As a big boned girl, it was refreshing to read a book about a heroine who has some meat on her bones. And a hero who loves her that way.

When I first purchased this book I was skeptical. I mean most of us women spend our whole life judging our bodies and our attractiveness, so I didn't know if I needed to read a book that reminded me of that. I'm glad I did. This book is very real and hits close to home for a lot of us. I really like that despite everything that had happened she found a sense of normalcy and with that love. This is a book on empowerment and the women's body, while not always the way we want it, that everyone can love.

This book was inspiring up until the end. The way Alessandra tackled such a sensitive subject in our society was great. There are a few loose ends though. That is the only reason for the 4 star rating

I loved this book. The characters are wonderful and real. The issue of weight and body image is very predominant in our society and it is very brave for an author to address this issue in her first ever novel, kudos.

This book is the epitome of New Adult literature. Cat is more real than most YA or adult main characters- you are rooting for her every step of the way to overcome, at the same time most American girls can identify completely with her struggles. I can't wait to see what Aless does next!

I absolutely loved this book. I can relate to some of the stuff in it. I loved how the author used real people. Every book I read always has skinny girls, or girls with curves in all the right places, but they never mention what size they are or the slightest hint that they have a few extra pounds. Thank you for writing an amazing book that's relatable!

Being a plus size women myself, I totally knew exactly how Cat felt. This story was just heartfelt and inspirational. Nate was so perfect. Wish more people were how he was portrayed. Can't wait to read more from this author.

This book was amazing!!! I'm not what most people would consider fat, but I have put on more weight than I am comfortable with and it changed the way I perceived myself. This book helped put things in perspective a little. I need to love myself no matter what weight I am or what society deems as beautiful. This was a great read. I do wish we could have found out what happened with the contest though and what happened with the characters at the end.
