EVEN MONEY is the first instalment in Alessandra Torre’s contemporary, adult ALL IN romantic suspense duet focusing on Las Vegas billionaire and multiple casino owner Dario Capece, and college student /cocktail waitress Bell Hartley.
NOTE: Due to the story line content, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from first person point of view (Bell), and several third person perspectives including Dario Capece EVEN MONEY follows the forbidden relationship between Las Vegas billionaire casino owner Dario Capece, and twenty-two year old college student / cocktail waitress Bell Hartley. Bell Hartley is a struggling cocktail waitress working for an underground casino that caters to the uber rich and famous- those who wish to remain out of the public eye. Enter Las Vegas casino owner Dario Capece, a married, powerful, self-made billionaire, known as the king of Vegas, who worked his way up through the ranks including a ten-year marriage of convenience to the Majestic Casino heiress Gwen Hawk, a marriage, that for all intents and purposes was, in name only. Affairs and sex outside of the marriage is an accepted practice between the married couple but falling in love, with someone else, meant a change in status that was a difficult prospect to swallow. Meeting Bell Hartley threw all caution to the wind including his personal mandate never to fall in love, or to let any outside relationships interfere with his business or his wife.
Dario Capece wants Bell Hartley within minutes of meeting our story line heroine but Dario’s reputation as a manwh*re with a hard-nosed, take no prisoners attitude is only surpassed by the scathing reputation of his father in law Robert Hawk. Warned by her friends to not get involved with Dario Capece, Bell Hartley is drawn like a moth to a flame, an involvement that has attracted the attention of the man in charge. Bell Hartley is no withering wallflower but a tormented heroine whose own past is filled with betrayal and loss. What ensues is the insta-lust/inta-love relationship between Dario and Bell, and the fall-out as the upset to the status-quo means someone may be about to lose their life.
EVEN MONEY is an intriguing and suspenseful story line that reveals a number of heart-breaking backstories, the power of money, and the potential for greed and jealousy to destroy them all. The premise is edgy and fascinating; the characters are spirited, flawed and tragic; the romance is intimate, intense and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. EVEN MONEY ends on a cliffhanger-you have been warned.

Even Money, Alessandra Torre
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
Genre: Erotica, romance
Alessandra's writing is perfect for me, solid plots and excitement, real feeling people I can like – or dislike, books need those too, plenty of drama, angst, steamy, erotic encounters and loads of emotions.
So I went into this one eagerly and wasn't disappointed, its got all of that and more. What I hate in a book though is a cliffhanger and this is a real doozy....BUT thankfully book two is only a week or two away. I can live with that, its when it happens in a book and the next isn't due for 12 or 18 months, or even longer....( of course I'm lucky enough to have got an ARC for that on my kindle, but I'm writing there as a standard reader, about how frustrating it can be when the next book is so far away)
Bell's a cocktail waitress in a “neutral zone “ casino, one where the other casino owners come to play. Its owned by two men who have become really good friends of hers, the kind who will – as the saying goes – help you hide a body without asking questions.
I like Bell, just wants to get through school, enjoy life and live and do her best to be independent. She's had a tough background, some awful events in it and yet is strong, determined to live a better life.
Dario – I wasn't sure of him at first, he seemed arrogant and one of those snap his fingers and demand instant obedience types. As we get to know him though I liked him more, he's like Bell in that he too comes from a non moneyed background, but he's talented, worked hard and married well financially, and is now in a strong position. Despite all that his hands are still tied in a way, his wife's father, what an awful man, totally immoral, money is God type, and Dario and Gwen are tied tightly to him. Independence is close but they're not there yet.
Gwen, Dario's wife, is mostly a background figure. They married for complex reasons, live separate lives in many ways though they live together, and have a close respect and friendship with each other. So when he tells Bell Gwen knows and is OK with him having other women, he is actually telling the truth, not spinning a well worn line.
Of course life isn't smooth, even though her bosses warn her about Dario, even though she knows he takes and drops women when the next comes along, even though she promised herself she'd never get entangled with a man like him she's drawn to him, some undeniable thread pulling them together. Dario can feel it too, this connection that keeps him coming back when he Never chases, Never pursues women. There are too many ready and willing for him to have to do that.
Of course true love never runs smooth, and despite all the signs and self imposed blocks they do get together, then the fireworks start, ending with that astonishing cliffhanger.
I was desperate to read book two, and have it on my kindle so I did just have to take a sneak at the start to see how that cliffhanger moved forward....but didn't let myself read more until I'd written this.
Its hard for me to write a review if I've read both books, trying to recall what was in book two not book one so I was disciplined! I was almost tempted to get up in the early hours and write though.
Stars:Five, fantastic read, excitement, drama, hot and erotic encounters, great characters. This book is a perfect read for those who want a solid romance with some real adventure. No sweet and cute folk here, no fluffy feeling scenes, no “heart warming” sections, heart rending maybe ;-) I will be eagerly reading book two today!

I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC from one of my favorite contemporary authors, Alessandra Torre. Her latest project, a thrilling romantic duet, Even Money and Double Down are hitting shelves weeks apart, and I was all but jumping up and down when the first of the two hit my kindle almost an entire week early from its release date.
During the few days I was running back and forth to NYC for Book Expo, I spent my commute devouring this book.. and I mean devouring. I think I finished this book within a 24 hour period while I curled up on the train.
Bell Hartley is a college student and cocktail waitress hustling to make a living in Sin City... Las Vegas. Living in such a decadent and fast-paced city has not only made her very aware of the people around her, but combined with an abusive past, has kept her hardened to love and all the fuzzy feelings. Then Dario happened.
Dario Capece is Las Vegas. A major mogul and total household name through the entire strip, he's used to getting what he wants and he wants Bell. It's when he tries to pursue her that he realizes it doesn't matter who he is, but he's not going to accomplish his goals so easily.
Not only does Dario throw Bell off her game, but he's a complicated creature who terrifies her when it comes to any sort of agreement or relationship. He's a high profile man, and he's been known to have numerous girls in his life, and he's also married.
Despite his reassurance and the fact that he severed ties with his other entanglements, Bell remains guarded and hesitant when it comes to Dario. His power and his seduction attempts are crumbling her walls and she finds herself in uncharted territory. She won't admit it, but they're both falling hard and fast for one another.
Dario's marriage adds another level of difficulty to their lives. He and his wife are friends, but they know their wedded bliss is nothing more than an arrangement, a charade. Despite Dario being candid and up front about these facts with both Bell and his wife, Gwen, Bell is hesitant, and Dario is unaware that the two of them are in danger.
When things escalate and threaten fatality, all bets are off.
There's so much going on in this story and I couldn't stop turning the pages. If I could've pulled off walking the streets of Manhattan with my nose buried in my Kindle, I would have.
Torre is a master at keeping the readers on their toes, and she does it so well. The text is electrifying and I was constantly guessing or anticipating everyones' next moves. When I finished this book, I was actually sitting in my car in a parking garage at the train station fairly late at night because tensions were high and Dario and Bell found themselves in a deadly situation. I had to know what happened before I drove myself home, and once I did, I felt almost traumatized. I actually had a sick feeling in my gut and all I wanted was book two, and ot maybe cry and scream a little.
Im constantly astounded and envious of Torre's talent to write such sexy and provacative characters mixed with such a suspenseful plot. It's stories like hers that make her a guaranteed must-buy author every single time. If you're buying a story from Torre (ha), be prepared for oozing chemistry and sensuality, secrets, deception, danger, and off the charts romance.
Needless to say, I'm frantic for book two in this duet so I can see how everything unfolds. I need answers and I'm so anxious!

Received in exchange for a honest review.
Wow just wow. Alessandra’s writing continues to expand and grow. We still have that signature erotic romance that she does so deliciously but we have the element of a romantic suspense-one that has many twists and dark pasts it is hard not to get caught up in the story and be taken up into the surroundings that Bell and Dario are in but also get swept up in their situation and the danger stealing Dario’s heart represents.
When you meet Dario at first he seems so controlling and you get a glimpse as to why he is like this but you also see that he is drawn to Bell. For some reason that he cannot explain Bell is a magnet for him and no matter what he tries he cannot stay away. Bell is the same way, they are like moths to the flame and just are drawn to one another no matter how much they fight it it is inevitable.
Once you get to know Dario, you see a complex man who loves wholly. His marriage to Gwen is complicated and yet lovely. His love and friendship for her runs deep and is tied to their past and his protective nature especially of Gwen herself. They have a open relationship one that is a house of cards that at any moment can fall down if emotions for others come about. These two are so close to being free of some burdens even though the chains of the past are there in different ways. Her and Dario are constantly walking on eggshells as they continue to make their business successful and legit while fearing for their lives at different levels. When Dario finds Bell and falls in love that puts them in a precarious situation.
Bell is feisty, strong and owns her sexual desires and makes no shame about it. She tries hard to stay away from Dario but the feelings and draw between them makes that impossible. The story is mostly in her POV with Dario’s POV in third person. When she learns the truth of Gwen’s and Dario’s situation she didn’t flinch but looked inside her heart for the answer. Bell does have some trigger topics in her past. Ones that changed and shaped who she is now. It also shaped her parents as well.
The story is full of suspense, danger, intrigue and sexual desires coming true for Dario and Gwen. We get some spicey scenes between Dario and Gwen and it shows us their passion for one another. The mystery game changing person really gives you a look into the mind of Mr. Hawke and it truly is scary. He is definitely one to fear and Dario and Gwen have a healthy fear of him.
The ending was jaw dropping. I am not sure I like Dario’s last sentence but based on what is gleamed throughout the book it was necessary. Question is going forward what happens. Will this hurt Dario and Bell’s love and relationship? the danger for them sky rockets now as well. So much danger is still in the air and being increased by the end. Can’t wait for the conclusion to see how their relationship holds out and if they stay alive but also what happens to the mystery lady who set the lies of Dario and Bell’s in motion at the end.

Holy Wow! This book captured me from page one and by the time I reached the end I was a balled up mess of nerves.
Working for friends who feel like family at an underground casino, Bell meets the man who basically owns Vegas. The chemistry and attraction to Dario is immediate despite the fact that few words are spoken. When it comes to light that he is having her followed, he uses it to push open the door and enter her life in a substantial way.
Dario is instantly attracted to Bell and unable to get her off his mind. With stalker like actions, he sets out to learn everything he can about her. Once he accomplishes his goals he is completely trapped. His desire for her has now put Bell and his wife in danger and any decision he makes will only compound the problem. But he can’t let her go.
I loved Dario’s obsessive tendencies in regards to Bell, his need to protect and provide for her. However, she’s a strong independent woman who has survived a nightmare and refuses to yield to his demanding ways. (Be assured, this trait does not lead to any too stupid to live moments.) Bell has no intention of getting into a relationship with anyone but she finds herself unable to stop the pull that Dario has on her heart. I enjoyed watching her slowly accept that what she felt for Dario was love.
Together, this couple move through some rocky places as Bell is reluctant due to his marriage and Dario is intent on keeping her safe. The pull toward each other overcomes all their obstacles. Along the way, we occasionally get another point of view in the story. This one is dark and sinister and ratchets up the angst each time they pop up. There is evil here and it’s only a matter of time before it rears its ugly head.
This had a great pace to it that never got too wordy. The secondary characters were wonderful and the steam between the hero and heroine was scorching. Yes, it’s true, Dario is married. However, his wife is his best friend and the marriage was arranged for purposes other than love. While his wife is in love with another man, he has arrangements with two women.
This ends in a huge cliffhanger! I’m talking HUGE! Thank goodness the next book, Double Down is releasing in a few days.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
So honestly, if I had known when I was signing up for this book that the hero was married I probably would have given it a pass. I am not a fan of cheating. But man, that would have been a HUGE mistake on my part because this book turned out to be majorly eccellente. The writing was fantastic. It was very well paced. The plot was super engaging and had me hooked from the getgo. I loved the setting as well. Last, that cliffhanger of an ending. How could you do me this way, Miz Torre!? Book two better release before I am off to Italy for two weeks! *squinty face*
~HERO~
DARIO...Well first, I really needed to do a complete brain bleach because my FIL's name is Dario...and NO, just NO. Carrying on... I adored Dario. He really was perfect hero material. He was sexy. He was sweet. He was caring. He was bad***. He was enamored with Bell right from the start. I am figuratively salivating in anticipation of watching him exact his revenge in book two.
~HEROINE~
BELL...Bell was just as awesome as Dario. She was feisty. She was strong. She was sweet. She was independent. She was a great friend. I loved how she lead Dario on a merry chase and didn't just fall at his feet. There wasn't anything I didn't like about her character.
~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
There were so many awesome secondary characters in this one. I LOVED Bell's bosses (and friends), Rick and Lance. I loved Bell's roommates. I even liked her buddy Ian, and Dario's wife Gwen <--- and kudos to this author for not making Dario's wife a crazy witch!
~HEAT LEVEL~
Low to Medium. There are a handful of spicey scenes in this one, but it is pretty late into the book before this couple has intercourse. I am usually not a fan of slow burn romances, but it worked very well in the instance. Plus, this couple has AMAZING on page chemistry.
~ANGST LEVEL - SEXUAL HISTORIES~
Low. I didn't find this one particularly angsty, to be honest. This couple's attraction was pretty insta (especially on the hero's part). There are a few ups and downs, but for the most part, they stay pretty solid throughout. Neither were virgins. Dario is married, but it is a marriage of convenience. Gwen is his best friend, and they tried once over ten years earlier to make it a physical relationship, but neither were interested in each other that way. He also starts the book with a mistress, and a waitress he f-***. He ends both relationships when he meets Bell. Bell has a f***buddy (Ian), that she does have sex with a few times on page (but it isn't overly detailed). I *think* she actually slept with him once after she meets Dario, but before they become anything. Other than those things, there wasn't any OW or OM drama.
~IN THE END~
I LOVED it completely. From beginning to end this book had me in its grasp. The writing was excellent. It was fast paced. The plot was engaging. The characters, both main and secondary were intriguing and well developed. The chemistry between Dario and Bell was electric. And that ending...OMG...ripped my heart out. I seriously need to get my hands-on book two ASAP! Therefore, yours truly is going to give this one two HUGE thumbs up, and strongly suggest you add it to your TO READ list immediately.

This book. Gripping. Enticing. Sexy. More. I didn't want to put it down. I wanted more. And now I'm left wondering... How am I going to stand the wait for more? What am I going to read that is going to hold my interest like this one did between now and the release of Book 2?
Somehow, I manage to forget just how much I love this author's writing in between books of hers. I'd never read split points of view (of which this book has several) written in the style she uses--heroine in first person narration and all others in third person. Ms. Torre does it very successfully, and I've found I enjoy the change, even though I'm not one who generally cares what narration a book is written in. It's different, and it's refreshing.
I actually cannot think of a single negative to say about any of the characters in this story. Generally, I have likes and dislikes. However, each of these characters was as he/she should have been. Bell was fun, flirty, and fierce. A great balance. I liked that she could show vulnerability when she needed to but wasn't afraid to stand her ground either. I thought Dario was going to be a completely different character than what he turned out to be. I honestly expected him to be a menacing a-hole that would have taken away some of my enjoyment of the book. Not that he couldn't be one, but he was one where the situation fit rather than just because he could be one. His softer side had me swooning. It feels like it's been forever since a book hero made me swoon. I won't go into detail about the rest of the characters because I don't want to give too much away, but they all played their roles well, whether it be adding to the humor and lightness of parts or being the villainous villains out to ruin all the things. It was perfect. #characterwin
Just as I don't have anything critical to say about the characters, I was equally satisfied with the way the story played out. For those of you who don't like cliffhangers, this one does end in one; though, it should be expected since it's the first book in a duet. The setting is Vegas, and though I've never been, I was still able to follow the story like I was familiar with it because of the author's adequate descriptions and explanations. I appreciated not being left behind because I wasn't in the know. I liked the slow build in the relationship that came despite the instant attraction, the ups and downs, the struggles, the gratification. All of it. It was a twisted web of love, loyalty, licentiousness, and lethality. I wouldn't change a thing; though, the ending was a bit tragic.
I can't wait for more.
**I received an ARC of this book from the author through Netgalley.**

My head is absolutely blown away. Pun intended. WOW! I’m speechless. It’s been awhile since a book had that effect on me and left me tossing and turning all night just thinking about it. YEP, that happened with this one. Be prepared to be completely swallowed by this story in typical Alessandra Torre style. There is nothing conventional in her stories and this one was no exception. I recommend you go in completely blind and enjoy this crazy ride. It was so amazing to unravel this book layer by layer. Alessandra always keeps you on the edge with her stories, never gives you the complete information from the start and reveals it little by little, making you guess, wonder and make assumptions. This one was like unwrapping a present. Everything was well hidden and was not what it looked like.
Dario seemed like the typical bad boy – very rich, famous, having connections everywhere, and always getting what he wanted. Very determined and overpossessive – the typical alpha male. Sounds a bit cliché but there was something in him and the way his character was portrayed that intrigued me from the start. Then we have Bell - the complete opposite. An ordinary girl working in a casino, but she didn’t put up with his cocky attitude – feisty, defiant and confident. She had some dark secrets from her past that somehow turned her into this strong and resilient woman she was. I instantly loved her easygoing personality and was grinning like an idiot every time she stood up against him.
Their love story wasn’t the typical sugarcoated romance. It was far from it, but this predicament they found themselves in completely swallowed me. I was turning the pages like crazy, wanting to know more and reveal all their secrets. I was curious to find out what type of game is everyone playing in this whole messy situation. There wasn’t a dull moment in this story and the suspense was off the charts. Another thing that was off the charts was the steamy passion between them. Boy, I really needed a cold shower after some of those sexy scenes. They were intense and hot. And this combined with the whole mystery, thriller storyline turned this story into the perfect combination for me.
The ending was like the cherry on the cake. Completely blew my mind and now I can’t wait to dive into the next book and see where this story would go from here. I could write a lot more about the awesomeness this book was but I’m impatient to read further on with Double Down. I suppose the nail-biting and the crazy heart pounding will continue with full force there.
If you are in the mood for a hot, steamy read with a substantial amount of action, suspense, secrets, and intrigue – this story will definitely meet your expectations to the fullest.

This book. Gripping. Enticing. Sexy.

A riveting read full of twists and turns. Alessandra Torre has once again written an addictive story line filled with mystery, suspense, and undeniable heat. Book after book she’s not slowed down one bit.
The heroine Bell Hartley has had some bad luck thrown her way and at the age of fifteen, the biggest of them was enough to knock her on her butt. But the best part about Bell is her resiliency. Yes, something so life changing most definitely affected her in ways she couldn’t control but instead of falling prey and getting sucked into a black hole, she takes control of her destiny and shot out of the small town she grew up in. A town that made her a victim. A town who didn’t believe her when she needed them most. Her luck starts to turn for the better when she finds herself in Sin City. Las Vegas, a metropolis built on gambling, vice, and other forms of entertainment. An oasis made to dazzle and indulge. Scantily clad cocktail waitresses are ubiquitous in the casinos and that’s where Bell finds herself in. Employed by 2 men who have become brother figures, she sets on this new life with one rule in mind— not to fall in love.
Dario Capece gets everything he wants. No isn’t a word that is part of his vocabulary. When Bell strikes a chord with him from their very first meeting, there is no other choice but to have her in whatever capacity he could. It should have stayed at just sex. Something so simple, an act so pleasurable. But of course, life loves to throw out those curve balls and it isn’t long before their hearts decide to join in on the fun. Something that started out so simply quickly escalates into something murderous.
They should have known that danger was lurking behind their whirlwind romance. With the amount of power, wealth, and influence Dario has over the city, it shouldn’t have been a surprise. Marrying into a wealthy & powerful family doesn’t come without a price. And that price is a psychopathic father in law with plans to bring down Bell. Keep the dysfunctional family intact even if it means murder.
I was absolutely enthralled with Even Money. Unable to put my Kindle down, it only took one sitting for me to get through the whole book. The ending. OMG, the ending just about had me jumping off the bed. I flippin’ NEED the next one like I need my next breath. I’m all out of sorts knowing I have to wait until June to find out exactly how everything will unfold. Cliffhangers like this gives me life— a literary masochist’s weakness. Even Money is a MUST read!

Okay, before you even start reading this book there are two things you should know. First, you may want to hold off until a weekend because you will not want to put this down. Secondly, it is part of a duet and does have a freaking heart pounding cliff hanger so if you are not a fan of those then you have been warned.
As soon as I began to read this book I had a feeling it was gonna be good, it was a given that it would be amazing just because Alessandra writes incredible stories but it was the characters that really pulled me in.
The story is set in Las Vegas, the city of sin. Bell works as a waitress at a small casino owned by her close friends. She is a student by day and has a pretty good life. She has been through some serious stuff but come through the other side relatively unscathed. Apart from her need for no strings sex only and definitely no dating, relationships and never love.
Dario first lays eyes on Bell when he walks into the casino she works at. Their eyes meet and the connection is something he cannot stop thinking about. It was only several seconds and he meets many people on any given day but for some reason Bell is someone he cannot forget. He wants to know more about this beautiful woman.
When Dario starts showing an interest in Bell she is initially very skeptical but there is this ridiculous pull between them. She knows he is married so a no strings thing could be on the table there but she also knows how powerful he is in Vegas. Then there is his father in law who is an extremely dangerous man and that in itself is a reason to stay away from him.
‘I had to remember our differences. I was nobody and he was somebody. I was single and he was married. I was too young and naïve, and he was too old and…’
Bell finds herself giving into the pull that is Dario and in doing so unknowingly puts herself in potential danger. There is always someone watching and despite Dario & Gwen being able to hide some things from her father, not everything goes by unnoticed. Dario finds himself taking risks and doing things he never has before. His marriage to Gwen is solid but lately it feels like the ground is shaking and it all began will the moment he met Bell.
This was a thrilling, sexy, intense, fast paced, danger laced read. At the end I was left feeling shocked and incredibly sad. Now I just need to see what the heck is going to happen because the outfall is going to have serious consequences on everyone.
‘He was too everything – a black hole that could suck me in without even feeling the crush of my soul.’

Opportunity doesn’t always lead to better life choices. For Bell – life hasn’t always dealt her the best hand. Until two men with a unique opportunity changed the direction that Bell’s life was headed. The chance to enjoy a better life while hob-knobbing with the rich and famous on the Vegas strip. A life that afforded Bell the ability to distance herself from those she chose, and the means to further her education. A combination that was hard to ignore for even the most star struck individual.
Working as a waitress for The House was always a pleasure. With bosses like Lance and Rick – Bell never had to worry about her safety or the type of clientele that frequented their establishment. Everything was on the up and up. Until the day Dario Capece walked in the doors of The House. An instant punch in the gut that left Bell reeling. What was it about this man? After all, he is certainly unattainable. Something that Bell can’t quite get out of her head. Then how is this one chance meeting pulling at Bell by an invisible thread?
Nothing about Dario is what others expect. Power, stability, and danger roll from his skin. A combination that leaves men scrambling to get out of the way, and women hoping for a quick roll in the chips. Dario knows what he wants in both his business and personal life. Right now – he wants nothing more than to acquire what cannot be obtained. Walking into The House that night changed everything that Dario desires. One woman that is causing the head strong businessman to change the ‘rules’ that he has always lived by. Dario knows that he should look the other way, but that ‘pull’ he feels towards Bell is hard to ignore.
The stakes are high without the added attention that Dario would bring upon Bell if he pursues her. Nothing is going to stand in the way once Dario makes up his mind. The only problem now is convincing Bell that the risk is worth the gamble.
Even Money is a sordid tale that take us through the underbelly of the Vegas Strip. The seduction that exists in the roll of the dice, the chips on the table, and the cards that land so eloquently at the hands of the dealer…..all of it combines to bring Dario Capece into the world of Sin City.
While I thoroughly enjoyed a romance that wasn’t your typical run of the mill ‘boy meets girl’, I did find a bit of predictability with the plot. Is it the story itself or the fact that I have read every book Alessandra Torre has written? Not sure, but I do know that this has the signature writing style of the author stamped all over this novel. While the suspense was interesting, I figured out the cliffy ending to the first book in the duet pretty early. The ‘clues’ were there in black and white if you paid close attention, and I would have loved the plot to have been a bit more intricate.
The romance between Bell and Dario is not typical either. There is not guy intentionally looking for the girl to complete his world. Dario already has everything his heart could desire……or does he? The relationship between Bell and Dario isn’t exactly ‘believable’ in parts of the novel. Intense…..yes! Interesting…..yes! Just not as realistic as it could have been between the two characters.
With a high stakes game going on behind the scenes, Even Money might just be the antidote to make you say ‘All In’. Lay the cards on the table and watch the action fold before your eyes.

Alexandra & Vegas is a lethal combination. She's a master at writing intrigue and hot scintillating sex. What better backdrop than the Sin City itself.
Bell Hartley is working real hard in High House with Lance & Rick, who're more like friends than bosses. High House is a hidden Gem, an unassuming and unadvertised Casino for High Rollers, Casino owners, politicians and billionaires who prefer low key, high end games away from the eye of competition and paps.
In steps Dario Capece.
vegas was full of sharks and Dario Capece was a killer whale, one who you saw right before getting eaten
He has Bell in his crosshairs now. And what he wants, he goes and gets.
She definitely feels the pull but there's a problem. He's rich, powerful, way out of her league and married !!
It had been sixty seconds of interaction. Less than a commercial break. As short as a hand of blackjack. Forgetting her should be easy. But in sixty seconds, a gun could be fired. A knife thrust. A bomb ignited. Sixty seconds could be nothing, or it could destroy a man.
To Gwen Hawk, beautiful and powerful co owner of his casinos and businesses. More interestingly, she's the daughter of much feared Robert Hawk, a man not to be messed around with.
Robert Hawk, a billionaire with as many demons as dollars and the recklessness to turn those demons lose without provocation
Bell wants to stay away, to protect her heart and her life, but their pull is much stronger and Dario has her hooked!
Some things in the story were like wowza! some simpler and few were mismatching.
The frustration of Dario being stuck in a situation of not his choosing, his craving for Bell and his need to control his surroundings are all penned well by Alessandra
he was in a dire situation - pulled in different directions by 2 incredible women. One held his heart in her delicate grasp, the other held his heart and his past in her fist
The buildup of dread and danger was pulse throbbing, sexual chemistry was shooting off the thermometer, there's few tender hearted moments as well and then there's a murder.
All in a pot boiler, bubbling and frothing to be blown up in the next book

“You don’t need to be afraid of me, Bell.”
“I’m not afraid of you.” It was the truth.
Maybe I should have been.
Bell Hartley was just your average college student by day, cocktail waitress by night. She’d been through some tough times in her youth but has managed to come through the other side but as a result, she keeps her relationships purely physical and doesn’t let her heart get involved. All that changes, though, the day Dario Capece enters her casino and their eyes meet from across the room. Suddenly she finds herself considering things she never thought she would. Dario is one of the richest and most powerful men in all of Vegas and for some reason he wants Bell. She doesn’t know if she should follow her head or her heart but either way, she finds it impossible to stay away from Dario. Their connection is unexplainable yet powerful but being with Dario is not without risk. Between the secrets, stalking, and murder the danger Dario poses to Bell’s heart may be the least of her worries.
Holy cliffhanger! I was well aware that this story was part of a duet so I was expecting a cliffhanger, but this one left my jaw on the floor and I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next. This was one of those stories that sucked you right in and made you not want to put it down until you were done. There was a passionate love story building but there was also mystery, danger, and suspense that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat. And with the way this one ended, I have a feeling that the second half is only going to be more intense! I thought that Dario and Bell were very intriguing, complex characters. Dario was rich, powerful, and dangerous yet he was loyal, protective, and at times, just your average guy. I really enjoyed exploring all these layers and I’m sure there’ll be even more of that in the next book. I can’t say much about the story itself because there are so many potential spoilers but the situation that these two find themselves in is so complicated and messy and it’s probably going to get worse for them before it gets better. There are a lot of things that’ll keep you guessing and I’m very excited for the conclusion to see how everything comes together because, if this first book is any indication, it’s going to be so good!!

Bell Hartley, cocktail waitress and college student doesn’t do commitment or relationships. She doesn’t do feelings after events in her past cause her to build walls around her heart. So when one of Vegas’ most infamous men walk through the doors of the casino she works at, she doesn’t understand why she is so drawn to him when she should be walking away instead.
Dario Capece rules Vegas along with his wife. But it’s a marriage of convenience both looking the other way when lovers are taken. But when Dario feels an instant connection with a cocktail waitress in a casino he wants to buy, he’s willing to risk it all to see where things could go with her . . . even if she claims she doesn’t do relationships.
It’s a no win situation as both Dario and Bell develop feelings they shouldn’t have for one another, yet they can’t help falling in love. But, when Dario’s psychotic father in law enters the picture, no one will be safe and lives will hang in the balance.
Even Money is the first book I’ve read by Alessandra Torre and I am hooked! I literally found myself repeating OMG OMG OMG over and over again when I read the last page of this book!
I loved Bell. She’s a woman who knows exactly what she does and doesn’t want. She loves having fun and enjoys no strings sex, but relationships are out. Dario, however, has her breaking her own rules and she can’t even figure out why as she starts falling more and more for him.
While I usually don’t enjoy books with cheating, I actually loved Dario’s character. He’s a bit of a white knight and married his wife to save her from her psycho father and to get them both ahead and a piece of Vegas. While he’s loyal, he’s never been in love with her, so falling for Bell was completely unexpected. Even knowing the consequences, he can’t walk away and together, these two have off the charts chemistry that will leave you fanning yourself!
This book has smokin’ hot scenes and enough intrigue that you won’t be able to put it down. Watching Bell and Dario dance around one another and what they shouldn’t be feeling is fun as heck to read . . . even knowing that it’s probably a doomed romance. Once Robert Hawk gets involved (remember the psycho father in aw) all bets are off the table and pure suspense ensues and will keep you turning pages until the very last sentence.
As this is part of a duet, Even Money does end on one heck of a bang leaving readers screaming for more. Luckily, part two is coming in just a few short weeks, because I need it!
5 Stars for Even Money! I’m definitely all in!

What happens when two characters with unconventional views on relationships, meet and become consumed with one another, despite all the risks?
This story, book one of a duet, explores those challenges.
Told in the third person, it took me some time to figure out who the main characters of this story were and what the overall theme would be. However, as you learn the backstories of Bell Hartley and Dario Capece, the uniqueness of their situation became apparent.
"Every man needs his wits around a tempting woman."
There were a number of things that surprised me about this story:
- Dario and his unique marriage to Gwen. This marriage is hardly traditional, more of a union on paper build on friendship. And that leaves him a opening to court Bell. But even given the circumstances of the marriage, it was interesting to see how some underlying issues came to play as Dario's feelings for Bell grew beyond the physical.
- There seems to be an insta-element to the story, particularly on the part of Dario, who senses his feelings toward Bell run deeper than attraction. Despite that, and despite the number of intimate scenes he shares with Bell, they wait longer than I expected to give in to their desires.
- Gwen's dad, Robert Hawk, is a horrible human, and given the hatred and fear that Dario and Gwen share about him, I wondered why they didn't do more to get out of his clutches. They seemed to let him control them at every turn, and it backfires spectacularly.
- Claudia and her mission. I didn't get this girl and why she would willing do as Robert ordered. Given what happens at the end of this book, I hope we learn more about her character in book two.
While I enjoyed the complexities of the relationship between Bell and Dario, and the potential risks of that relationship represented, I would have liked a heavier dose of tension. Claudia's mission fell flat at times, and while I loved the big twist at the end and how damaging it could be, I would have liked more heart-racing moments, given this genre.
With that said, I'm eager to see where this story leads. The risks have escalated and it will be interesting to see where the author takes the story. To be continued . . .

"...our connection wasn't normal. It was two planets colliding. Explosions. A black hole that pulled you in, regardless of the danger."
A sexy and dangerous love affair between a college student/cocktail waitress and a Vegas heavy hitter/casino owner.
Bell is just plugging away at her education and job. She lives a life that she quite enjoys. While having a tragic past, she has taken steps so that doesn't define her life. She is not looking for love, she actually is almost allergic to it, but she doesn't have issues looking for a good time. She is a spit-fire and ballsy. She is an easy character to enjoy. Even though you spend a good portion of this book in her head, I was never tired of it and looked forward to her thoughts on what was going on.
Dario is a complicated man. He is at the top of the Vegas food chain. He owns a number of casinos and never wants for anything. He's had a mistress or two and doesn't get wrapped up in feelings. He has a magnetic personality and quite owns the pages when he appears. He becomes drawn to Bell and that is bound to cause trouble. A lot of trouble.
I knew this was a part one and I expected to be left hanging. But I am more intrigued than anything. I feel like book two is going to bring us more suspense and I am dying to know where the story is going to take us. I really enjoyed this book as I really love the way this author ability to weave a story together. This story was complex but not cumbersome. It was sexy and delicious. It had characters that are engaging and you what to know more about. While the romance was fast and furious it fit with this looming danger and suspense. I am super excited for the next part because I need answers to my, "well that was certainly unexpected" feeling at the end.

Alessandra Torre has always managed to grab her readers in every story. Whether it’s a heart pounding cliff hanger, a corrupted plot twist, or just a heartbreaking love story, she gets your attention every time. Even though this story didn’t manage to wow me like her others, you can never take away the fact that her words and her style, has us coming back for more.
Belle Hartley practically seen it all in her time in Vegas. From gambling, to drugs, sex and money, there’s nothing or no one in this town that could shock her. At least that what she thinks until she meets the infamous Dario Capece. When your world has been nothing more than forbidden, what’s a little bit more danger?
Dario Capece is the king of Vegas and he wouldn’t have it any other way. Money, status, women, and one of the most biggest personal contracts that has catapulted him into legendary history. Life as he knows it right now is more than good but who would want that when you can have extraordinary? Its going to take one cocktail waitress to turn his life upside down for better or worse. How far is Dario willing to go to be with a woman like Belle?
I initially loved the premise of the story and if I’m being honest, I fell in love with Dario’s character. He had this allure about him that made you want to be in his presence at all times and there was this underlying danger about him. I really liked his character and I think that if we were shown a little bit more of his dark side, I would’ve in love even more.
Aside from the fact that I couldn’t really connect with Belle and I guessed the plot twist towards the end, I’m still anxious to see what’s going to happen in part 2. Will Dario and Belle survive these dramatic turn of events? Or will there be a new key player in the game?

Even Money, with its sensual words and smooth characters, screams to be read. Once you turn the first page, you’re hooked and Alessandra Torre keeps you on edge until the final page. This is the first book in a duet series and the second book, Double Down, releases on June 18th, so you don’t have to wait very long for the continuation of Bell and Dario’s exciting love story.
You’ll realize fairly quickly that Alessandra is a master of wordplay and the way she writes has a lyrical quality. It brings to mind the scenes and the characters within the scenes, how they look, how they feel, what they want. It’s spellbinding and just one more reason to love this author’s novels.
Dario is the King of Vegas and should be off limits. He’s bold and brash under silk ties and expensive suits. It’s an interesting juxtaposition to read what he’s feeling versus his actions and just another thing that makes Dario a unique character. Bell is young, closed off, and used to being in control sexually, but what happens when she finally meets Dario? Sparks fly, emotions blossom, and a truly fantastic story unfolds before our eyes.
Alessandra Torre once again shares a story of two people that shouldn’t be together, but can’t be kept apart. I’ll tell you to expect the unexpected as there are a ton of twists in this story. I appreciated the peripheral characters, including Rick and Lance, as they are what give you a little more insight into Bell’s character and why they are so protective of her.
Even Money as a story seems like something that could actually happen in the Vegas world. It’s not far-fetched and has roots in reality. Truly an exciting read and I cannot wait to get my hands on Double Down next week.

WOW, Alessandra Torre once again did not disappoint with this one. Cannot wait to dig into Double Down now.
Even Money was a bit of a slow start for me. I really struggled for most of the book the switching back and forth between writing in 1st POV and 3rd POV, my preference is 1st POV but do enjoy 3rd POV but it takes me a bit to get into 3rd POV and I found the switching back and forth betting the POV from other characters at time pulled me out of the story. By the time I got to the 40-50% mark the story had picked up enough for me to get really pulled in so I was engaged in the story and the swapping pulled me out less.
I loved Bell's character, I loved how strong she was, I loved that her horrific past only made her stronger rather than weaker. I loved the chemistry she had with Dario who was so powerful but never did she cover. Bell truly was the perfect female lead.
Dario, how can you not swoon over this sexy dangerous bad boy. I love the man he is, he may be bad but he is loyal to Gwen yet at the same time gives his heart to Bell. Dario may be bad and a bit scary but he totally won over my heart, someone who hardly ever goes for the bad boy.
Overall this was a fabulous, on the edge of your seat hot and sexy first of Bell and Dario's story. I loved the dynamic the author built for them and I loved the chemistry they had. It was instant and you couldn't help but feel it. This was definitely a 5 star read for me but the switching back and forth took a lot away from the story making it more of a 4-4.5 star read

Wow!!! What a read!!!! When I read the synopsis, I knew it was going to be a good read, but it far surpassed anything I was expecting.
Bell is a cocktail waitress working in a casino trying to forget the horrific event that happened during her childhood that changed her forever. She thinks she is doing pretty good. She has great friends and a great job. She controls her own emotions and relationships with men, never giving her heart to ANYONE! When she lays eyes on Dario Capece one night, everything changes!
Dario is rich, and he has worked hard to be the success he is. He has a wife, Gwen, but they have an arrangement. She sees who she wants and so does he, but it’s discreet. They always promised to never leave the other, but when he sees Bell, life for him is getting ready to become EXTREMELY COMPLICATED!
This is a book that kept my interest from the very beginning, not only the storyline but the characters as well. Both stand out in the book. It is told from several POVs which makes it even more interesting. I felt for all three main characters, Bell, Dario, and Gwen, Dario’s wife. All three have led really hard lives, and Gwen and Bell have suffered things no person should ever have to endure. Torre has given her readers three very complex and multi-layered characters.
This is not just a romance, but it full of betrayals, secrets, action, and an evil villian. Parts had me on the edge of my seat because I wasn’t sure what was going to happen. You will know what I mean the deeper you get into the book. It does end in one heck of a cliffhanger, but never fear, the sequel is releasing very soon. I’m a certainly looking forward to it.

Well, leave it to Alessandra Torre to leave me rendered stunned and speechless. With its jaw-dropping ending, 'Even Money' left me on the edge of my seat and craving more of this All In Duet!
I love feisty heroines, and Bell totally fit the bill. As a powerful and wealthy man ruling over his Las Vegas casino empire, Dario seemed arrogant and overbearing, and I didn't feel that I was going to like him. However, as his complex character and past were revealed, I saw there was much more underneath his facade. I loved how Bell gave Dario a run for his money when it came to his controlling nature! There was definitely an instant draw and spark between them, which followed with some sizzling chemistry and passion, and I was happy there was more depth that Dario and Bell shared.
This really is one of those stories where I don't want to give too much away. As always, I know that I can count on Alessandra Torre to deliver a unique story, and she certainly did here! Although it was a bit slow at the start, I ended up loving the way she revealed the storyline, and once it got going, it was very suspenseful and kept me on my toes!
I loved the descriptive setting in the Las Vegas casinos, and Torre did a fantastic job submerging me into the casino lifestyle. I also really enjoyed the multiple perspectives from Bell, as a struggling waitress and student, Dario, as a wealthy casino tycoon, and the secondary characters in the story as well.
'Even Money' was very intriguing, a bit crazy, and an exciting read, and the 'kapow' in the end totally caught me off guard! Now I am anxiously on the wait for the conclusion to this All In Duet in Double Down!

Wow, just wow! You never know what you’re going to get when you pick up a book by Alessandra Torre and Even Money definitely didn’t disappoint. There are quite a few twists and I was left with more than a few questions. Dario is in quite the predicament yet I can understand why he is doing what he’s doing. There’s so much more to him than what meets the eye. I loved Bell. I loved her independence and how she didn’t let something from her past completely alter who she is as a person. I admire her for not completely falling for what Dario had to offer and still wanting to have control of her own life. While Even Money, is mostly a serious read with a good bit of suspense, there were a couple laugh out loud moments that had me in tears. Things I was able to relate to having received a degree in mathematics. Part of me hopes we get a bit more background on that particular person in Bell’s life and his need to know more about linear regression. I also loved her relationship with her bosses and how close they were. I’m glad they did what they could to look out for her no matter the case. The connection between Bell and Dario was intense from the very moment they laid eyes on each other. It only got stronger as the story progressed, no matter how much Bell tried to ignore it. I can’t imagine being her position, having to make that choice, knowing Dario’s situation but also know the connection they share. The ending wasn’t too surprising. I had a feeling it was going to play out that way. I was just shocked with the way Dario handled that situation and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how this plays out. I can’t wait to get my hands on Double Down!

"Dario Capace was trouble, I reminded myself. MARRIED trouble. Getting involved with him would be a disaster."
This was only my second book my Alessandra Torre and man did it not disappoint. I always find her stories to be so intriguing and different from anything else I've ever read. When I first read about Even Money, I was so excited and captivated by the blurb...that I couldn't wait to dive in.
"I've kisses a lot of men in my life. Our first kiss in The Gold Room seduced my mind. This one broke the first chain around my heart."
Even Money follows the story Bell, a cocktail waitress and Dario, a billionaire who owns many things in Vegas. These two couldn't be more different or come from different worlds. But the second they met, Dario is fascinated by her. More so than he ever has been with any woman. Bell though, isn't stupid and about to get herself caught up in a fairytale only to get hurt. She knows what heart break feels like and she doesn't ever want to feel that again.
Bell finds it hard though to stay away from him, captivated by his allure and power. She finds herself quickly in his grasp and wrapped up in a web she never thought she would be in. A web that has caught her heart.
"I'd always been a gambler, with my money, my time, my safety...but never my heart."
As feelings grow and evil lurks, Dario and Bell will find themselves on the biggest ride of their life. And will leave you...BEGGING for MORE!
I couldn't put this book down and when it was over...I wanted more instantly. I look forward to the second book in this series and to see where these characters will go. Because anything can happen in Vegas.

Even Money (book 1) by Alessandra Torre is sexy, steamy, suspenseful, and all levels of dark –and I loved it!!! This is the story of Dario the alpha king of Vegas who comes with a secretive past and Bell the waitress who works at another Vegas hotel who was the “one” that caught his eye. Their eyes met and held. Let me tell you that from that moment when their eyes met, that moment was seriously HOT. From that moment on the story was additive, hot and held me captive until the epic cliffhanger ending. Bell knew Dario was off limits but something about him kept her coming back, just as Dario found something about Bell that made him super possessive of her and he knew it was better to walk away but he could, they both knew they should walk away but neither could. All they could do was fall for one another very fast and they held on for the emotional rollercoaster ride of their lives. Dario and Bell's romance was hot, intense, deep, erotic and passionate. You could feel their connection, their chemistry even when they tried to deny it or refuse it, it was there and it was deep. And the angst was also there. I don’t want to give the plot away but suffice to say there were several secondary characters that were determined to keep these lovers apart and that epic cliffhanger has me wondering on the future for Bell and Dario. OMG I didn’t see that ending happening. I cannot wait for book 2 to find out will they get their HEA or was this the final curtain call for them. What a fabulous and emotional read that will hit every note you look for in a romance story.

The blurb was the hook, especially the whole “And someone died.” part, and while the blurb is most definitely accurate, this book threw a few things that surprised me, or I guess I should say, the characters surprised me and I thoroughly enjoyed it...even with that ending aka cliffy from h$%l.
I really liked Bell and Dario. Their pasts are both troubled and dark and yet they’ve both persevered and have become something more than either thought they’d ever be. I loved Bell’s sass, snark and confidence. She does have a few walls up, for good reason, but she’s honest and upfront about it. Dario is all kinds of alpha AF male. Determined, overbearing while being charming and sweet and smexy as all get out. As for their relationship...it’s definitely convoluted and there will be those that just won’t feel it, regardless of that inexplicable pull they have towards each other. For me though, I really enjoyed their dance because they were actually honest about what they wanted and where they stood.
The writing was engaging and so easy to get lost in. The various POV’s were done in an interesting manner, but I didn’t find it difficult to follow. The secondary characters are all quite interesting and there are a few I’d love to know more about, so we’ll have to see what happens in the second book. And as this is a duet, there is a cliffy and OMG what a cliffy it is. Things are about to get really complicated and I NEED to know how it all plays out.

Bell Hartley can sense trouble from a mile away. Living and working in Vegas, she is used to navigating her way through men with money who always get what they want. But, when she meets Dario Capece, there is nothing she can do to keep the attraction between them from changing... everything.
Dario Capece is married, in name only. Having gone through many mistresses and flings, when he meets Bell, he knows immediately that she may be the one person who finally destroys the life he has painstakingly built with his wife...
But, he won't let that stop him in his relentless pursuit of her...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This was such a fantastic read! From the very beginning of the book, we are immediately immersed in the high stakes reality of the darker side of Las Vegas...
Bell is a Vegas transplant who has a job she loves and friends who are like family to her. When she meets Dario, not only does she sense how bad of a situation it would be to get involved with him, but she is constantly warned of the danger that always follows in his wake.
Dario is the King of Vegas, who already has a Queen at his side. Pursuing Bell is a bad idea, but once he meets her, he refuses to let her slip through his fingers. Offering her a lifestyle she could never even fathom on her own, it's only a matter of time before she gives in to him...
Neither of them want a relationship, but once they become involved there is no stopping the trajectory their lives are about to take...
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
Wow, just wow! You never know what you’re going to get when you pick up a book by Alessandra Torre and Even Money definitely didn’t disappoint. There are quite a few twists and I was left with more than a few questions. Dario is in quite the predicament yet I can understand why he is doing what he’s doing. There’s so much more to him than what meets the eye. I loved Bell. I loved her independence and how she didn’t let something from her past completely alter who she is as a person. I admire her for not completely falling for what Dario had to offer and still wanting to have control of her own life. While Even Money, is mostly a serious read with a good bit of suspense, there were a couple laugh out loud moments that had me in tears. Things I was able to relate to having received a degree in mathematics. Part of me hopes we get a bit more background on that particular person in Bell’s life and his need to know more about linear regression. I also loved her relationship with her bosses and how close they were. I’m glad they did what they could to look out for her no matter the case. The connection between Bell and Dario was intense from the very moment they laid eyes on each other. It only got stronger as the story progressed, no matter how much Bell tried to ignore it. I can’t imagine being her position, having to make that choice, knowing Dario’s situation but also know the connection they share. The ending wasn’t too surprising. I had a feeling it was going to play out that way. I was just shocked with the way Dario handled that situation and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how this plays out. I can’t wait to get my hands on Double Down!
"Dario Capace was trouble, I reminded myself. MARRIED trouble. Getting involved with him would be a disaster."
This was only my second book my Alessandra Torre and man did it not disappoint. I always find her stories to be so intriguing and different from anything else I've ever read. When I first read about Even Money, I was so excited and captivated by the blurb...that I couldn't wait to dive in.
"I've kisses a lot of men in my life. Our first kiss in The Gold Room seduced my mind. This one broke the first chain around my heart."
Even Money follows the story Bell, a cocktail waitress and Dario, a billionaire who owns many things in Vegas. These two couldn't be more different or come from different worlds. But the second they met, Dario is fascinated by her. More so than he ever has been with any woman. Bell though, isn't stupid and about to get herself caught up in a fairytale only to get hurt. She knows what heart break feels like and she doesn't ever want to feel that again.
Bell finds it hard though to stay away from him, captivated by his allure and power. She finds herself quickly in his grasp and wrapped up in a web she never thought she would be in. A web that has caught her heart.
"I'd always been a gambler, with my money, my time, my safety...but never my heart."
As feelings grow and evil lurks, Dario and Bell will find themselves on the biggest ride of their life. And will leave you...BEGGING for MORE!
I couldn't put this book down and when it was over...I wanted more instantly. I look forward to the second book in this series and to see where these characters will go. Because anything can happen in Vegas.
The blurb was the hook, especially the whole “And someone died.” part, and while the blurb is most definitely accurate, this book threw a few things that surprised me, or I guess I should say, the characters surprised me and I thoroughly enjoyed it...even with that ending aka cliffy from h$%l.
I really liked Bell and Dario. Their pasts are both troubled and dark and yet they’ve both persevered and have become something more than either thought they’d ever be. I loved Bell’s sass, snark and confidence. She does have a few walls up, for good reason, but she’s honest and upfront about it. Dario is all kinds of alpha AF male. Determined, overbearing while being charming and sweet and smexy as all get out. As for their relationship...it’s definitely convoluted and there will be those that just won’t feel it, regardless of that inexplicable pull they have towards each other. For me though, I really enjoyed their dance because they were actually honest about what they wanted and where they stood.
The writing was engaging and so easy to get lost in. The various POV’s were done in an interesting manner, but I didn’t find it difficult to follow. The secondary characters are all quite interesting and there are a few I’d love to know more about, so we’ll have to see what happens in the second book. And as this is a duet, there is a cliffy and OMG what a cliffy it is. Things are about to get really complicated and I NEED to know how it all plays out.
I can finally breathe! That was a whirlwind of emotions. I think I need a drink now and it’s only book 1! Lol
This is a book about Belle, a college student/waitress, f$@&ing her way through life and studies. She’s not loose. She just knows what she wants and when she wants it. No strings attached. That is until Dario shows up at her place of work and their connection is undeniable. Will she make this out alive and intact with her heart?
Dario is every woman’s wet dream. He’s insanely hot and is dripping with sex. He’s wealthy and cocky. He drives Belle insane and did I forget to mention that he’s married?
Leave your preconceived notions at the door. This book isn’t what you think it is. It’s not a book about cheating. I can see why one would think that but it’s not and I encourage you to read it.
I couldn’t put it down. I was breathless by the time I finished and my heart is beating out of my chest. I feel like I ran a marathon and I have Alessandra to thank for that.
Even Money is very intriguing. Suspenseful, dark at times, funny, and hot as heck. You will not be able to put it down.
Alessandra writes only as Alessandra does and that is unapologetic. You will experience emotions. You will feel dirty. You will question your morals but in the end you will bow down and worship her. She’s the queen of darkness and lightness and everything in between. Her writing stands out on its own and Even Money is a great example of it.
Leave it to Alessandra Torre to suck me in again. Dangling a sexy alpha hero and a spitfire heroine in Sin City, this story read super fast and had a deliciously wicked ending.
Dario Capece.......his name alone sounds fierce, powerful and sexy. He’s the man of Las Vegas. People both respect and fear him. And he’s married.
Bell Hartley......a cocktail waitress whose beautiful and sassy. But she hasn’t had an easy life and she doesn’t do relationships.
But.....*“Of all the gin joints in all the towns...” “I didn’t plan to walk into yours,”*
Dario and Bell have an intense combustible attraction. Both feel it and both try but can’t deny it. It’s a No Win situation for either but their connection can’t be denied. They take their attraction slow.....it’s a push and pull but the pull is magnetic.
*In the third kiss, he owned me, the contact deepening, a delicate play between two mouths born for each other, one where arousal flared, breaths quickened, and our hands tightened and traveled, first needy, then frantic.*
The story has twists and turns. The authors incorporates them and spins them in major ways. There is some mystery, intrigue, and lots of sexual tension. The intensity of Bell and Dario’s relationship is marred by several factors and those factors makes for a wickedly wonderful read. And that ending.......pure Alessandra Torre!!! I know I’m counting the days till the next book!!
Even Money - Alessandra Torre
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Holy Cow!!!! I’m like..... speechless.
Just finished this incredibly detailed and shattering story.... WOW.
When Bell Hartley turns up for her shift at ‘The House’, a Vegas underground Casino, frequented by all manner of high rollers, she never expects to be struck by the surge of chemistry between her and the dark, dangerous and devastating Dario Capece as he arrives for a meeting with her bosses and best friends Rick and Lance.
Dario lives outside the lines of the Vegas strip, managing his holdings, casinos and all manner of sordid secrets that he keeps but the one thing he protects is his wife, Gwen, daughter of the ruthless Robert Hawk. Gwen is his priority, until the dark haired cocktail waitress known as Bell gets under his skin and creates a divide that Dario can’t unravel.
One of the best dark, romances I’ve ever read and with a cliff hanger, I’m quickly writing this review and diving straight into Double Down.
Alessandra Torre is an author that I’ve heard a lot about but never gotten around to reading but..... I’m totally hooked.
Brilliant story, great characters, not all of them you’ll like and enough heat, passion and sex to catch your kindle on fire.
Gotta go.... Double Down is waiting for me.
Please RateEven Money (All In Duet Book 1)
Bell is guarded, determined, and sexually aware. She knew what she wanted and a relationship wasn't it. Dario is an anti-hero. He's an alpha to the bone with a side no one wants to meet in a dark alley. The chemistry between the two of them is seriously hot. The connection between them, immediate. As I mentioned, they are both well-written with elaborate backstories that deepen the storyline. The secondary characters are just as flawlessly developed. I really wish I could have loved it.
Now, don't get me wrong, this is a good book. It just wasn't the book for me. I've fallen in love with Torre's writing in the past, so if you're on the fence about this one, give it a try. It just might be for you. And while I probably won't read the next in this duet, I will be reading more of Torre in the future.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader's copy of this book.
