Short story I would have loved it to be a bit longer with a bit more happening with Eric however it is a super read for the price and the author described things well .. did I mention I like the hot inked up sexy Eric ? I shall take one of those to go thank you

This originally caught my eye cause it said steel city and I always try and support authors from my hometown. I really liked the book. It was a easy, cute read no angst, no misunderstandings, just a nice fast read.

This is officially my ultimate favorite book I never read books more than once and I've read this one 2 times going on 3 it sucks you in from the beginning. Plus I love how the author describes the mans tattoos in great length. You actually get a detailed picture not like in other books when you have to guess. All in all, if I could I'd give it 10 stars!!

Bank teller Mina feels 24 going on 40. As guardian for her wheelchair bound 14 year old sister she doesn't get out much and can't identify with her peers. She meets sexy tattoo artist Eric when she decides to get a rather intricate tattoo. He is nothing but professional while giving her the tattoo but when Mina's best friend rising photographer offers to take pictures of some of the ink work as advertisement for the shop Mina and Eric end up in close quarters and the chemistry between them is obvious. With some pushing from her bff Mina agrees to a date with Eric. But will he still want to go out with her when he finds out that he can't be her first priority?
I love that these characters are so real. Mina is so strong but riddled with insecurity. Eric is strong and sexy but not perfect either. They are perfect for each other.
Hot Ink is a short book but it is filled with a terrific story with multiple sub plots. It is well worth the read. I do have one problem with it though. The plot device to introduce the two is improbable given Mina's character. She wouldn't spend the money necessary for a tattoo especially one that involved. But once you get past that...

Mina is the sole guardian of her younger, wheelchair bound sister. Eric is the man inking a masterpiece on Mina's side. Eric tries to ask Mina out, but she is busy with work and her sister. She is sure that after running out on him once, he won't be back again. Fate has other plans. Fate and Mina's best friend. Mina and Eric are posed together for a photo shoot of their tattoos. It get's intimate and Eric takes his second chance to ask Mina out.

What I liked was that Ranae Rose took everyday life and turned it into a wonderful story. Mina works, cares for her sister, has a lot of responsibility. That could make for a dull book, but Ranae Rose is good at her craft. Mina and Eric were more real than some characters you read. Mina was easy to relate to. I could understand the feelings she was having and why. Eric was an all around good guy. He wasn't a knight in shining armor or hero to save the day. He was an ordinary, attractive, nice guy. He also has an awesome tattoo of a dragon. Yeow!

This made for such a charming quick read. I enjoyed it but found the plot to be lacking. There just wasn’t a lot that happened. I suppose that’s to be expected for a series starter though. While the ending left much to be desired, at least it didn’t end with a cliffhanger. I do feel its current price of $2.99 is a bit steep considering its only 155 pages.
Long review cut short, I liked the writing style and the character depth was impressive for such a short book. I will definitely check out more of this series, and more of this writers work.

At just twenty-four years old, Mina is mother, sister and best friend to her wheelchair-bound sister. Mina works as a bank teller; a job she doesn't really like, but it pays the bills. Her love life isn't all that exciting either. She can't be bothered especially when men realize that her first priority is and always will be her sister. That's not to say that Mina is totally unaffected by sexy men, and there is one in particular, her tattoo artist Eric. After a failed non-date, Mina thinks she's lost her chance with him. When her best friend asks her to model her recently acquired tattoos for a photo shoot, she reluctantly agrees. The impromptu job is going well until Eric shows up, and she gets talked into posing with him for some really sexy pictures. Their chemistry is undeniable, but he'll just run like the other men once they find out that she and her sister are a package deal. Or will he?

I LOVED this story! The author managed to pack in a lot of (com)passion and a little drama in this short story, but it never felt rushed. The budding relationship between the hero and heroine felt believable. There was a lot of great sexual tension that got released in increments as the story unfolded, and I didn't get the impression that waiting for the sex to happen was the main focus. It was one of those "it will happen when they're ready" moments.

Mina was a great character and very down to earth. I admired her for her sacrifices and for her relationship with her little sister. She's fiercely loyal and protective, but underneath it all, she bears the burden of their mother's actions in the past. That burden leads to her making assumptions about Eric, and he has his work cut out for him to make her see that he's not a bad guy. Eric was pretty much perfect in my eyes. He showed Mina that she was desirable and entitled to happiness while raising a teenager. Simply put, he brought stability to Mina's chaos.

If you're looking for a feel good, short, romantic read with little drama, lots of ink, steamy make-out sessions and one zinger of a love scene, then you'll want to read this.

My thanks to the author for sending me a copy of her book in exchange for an honest review.

Mina is a twenty-four year old with the responsibilities of a forty year old. She is the only guardian for her disabled sister. Her job as a bank teller lets them get by, but it doesn't allow them many luxuries. However, there is one thing that Mina is determined to do for herself and that is getting a new beautiful tattoo. Mina never expected the attraction that hits her when she is alone with the tattoo artist Eric. She also never expected to act on it but when they are both asked to pose for some pictures the heat rises quickly. But will Eric be able to accept everything that comes along with Mina's life.

Hot Ink is a good story. Mina is a strong character and I admired her determination to make the best life for her little sister. Eric is a handsome guy with a good heart. I like the elements of this story that bring these two together and I could see a forever in their picture. I found the tattoo plot line to be interesting and unique and loved the twist surrounding Mina's job. Need an afternoon full of sexy ink and sensual romance? Then you need Hot Ink.
