This was the second book of the Raistlin chronicles. It was interestiong to find out about the twins' adventure being soldiers. It was an excellent book but sometimes I ached (literally) to find out what happened to one person but it would go to another persons view in a totally different place! I recommend this book because it's fun to read. It reveals some facts that aren't revealed in the other books. (If you read any at all) Margaret Weis is a wonderful author. If you like mages and dragons and elves this is the book for you!

This book continues the pre-dragonlance lives of the twins Raist and Caramon. Long time fans of Dragonlance will find this a must read. The dark mage has always been a good topic. This book (like Soulforge) however, lacks certain elements that the origanl Dragonlance trilogy had much less the 2nd trilogy and "Summer Flame". If you are a long time fan of Weis (and Hickman) this book is worth the read. If you are just beginning to find the Dragonlance worlds, I strongly suggest reading the earlier books ... or would that be the later books?

This book was one of my favorites! Even though there wasn't much (if any) "Magic with steel" in it, I'd say it was a really good book. The details were supurb and I couldn't put this book down untill I finished it! I would recomend this book to any Dragonlace fan! Margaret Weis did a great job on this one. Margaret, you rock the house!
Dragons of Spring Dawning (Dragonlance Chronicles - Book 3) :: Volume Two (The War of Souls Book 2) - War of Souls Trilogy :: The Red Sea (The Cycle of Galand Book 1) :: The Red Sea: The Cycle of Galand, Book 1 :: Volume One (The War of Souls Book 1) - War of Souls Trilogy

I read this book and the peceding (soul forge) and found them to be incredable.A amasing walk into Raistlens life. This is the book to read if you want to know why Raistlen is the way he is.It takes off where soulforge leaves off making my understanding of Raislen (my personal faverate caracter) that much greater. So in retrospec thank you M.Weis for all the books you have wrote and all I hope you well write in the future.

Hi this book was good because it was very exiting and Raistin Majere, Caramon Majere, and Kitiara Uth Matar played a very important part. I think who ever read the Soulforge would definatly like this. It was very exiting and adventurous. In this book Raistlin becomes a war mage and Caramon become a warrior. Immolatus is in this book(He is mentioned in The Ledgend of Huma). I would recommend this book to anybody who likes Harry Potter.

If you have read the Soulforge, you will love it's sequel. It picks up right where the first one left off. Now that Raistlin is aware of his power, he must learn how to use it effectively, He does so by learning the art of being a war mage. Also if you are an AD&D fan, Weis has an awesome description for explaining the art of magic. I can't wait to get the next one

Raistlin is the most human character in the book, and I feel I can relate with every decision he makes(well, maybe not EVERY decision); but I need this book to be released NOW or I am going to die of anticipation and frustration over waiting. Also, I hope it comes out in hardcover form; I'd rather have a book that will last a lifetime rather than a book that will last a decade.

Hello? I read this book and was aghast at several things. Are you sure MW had anything to do with this book? It seems like the work of a different author... Like previous other dragonlance spin-offs, this book had several glaring errors in protraying Raistlin, Kitaira, Caramon and other minor characters from previous books. For a die hard fan like me this meant that it totally spoilt my enjoyment of the book. Bleah. In any case I note that several readers have observed this as well. I should have listened to them before buying this book. The Raistlin (and Caramon) in this book do not bear much similarity to the twins in Chronicles or Legends (what little we know of their past before the War of the Lance and beyond)in past or manner. For those who have not seen the light, I suggest you go read the earlier books AGAIN before embarking on this book. On the other hand, maybe it is better if you just re-read the earlier chronicles and forget about this book.

It could have been better, but there were some parts that were just sophmoric, unrealistic and unecessary. This is pulp fiction that can entertain, but unfortunately, parts of the book are forgettable.

I enjoyed this book, but there is absolutely no reason to have Caramon resemble Gomer Pyle when training as a mercenary. He may be naive to the world at this point in his life, but he is not a fool either. It sometimes seemed as if Seargent Carter and Gomer had enlisted in the Mad Baron's army.

If you are intrigued by Raistlin and want to know his detailed story, starting at age 6, this book, along with Book 1, are the books to get. All of the questions I had about him, and even some I didn't know I had, were explained.

This book captured the deep details of the first book. The enthralling world of magic entwined with the plot of the story to make one amazing but plausibe book that keeps you into the story. This book talks about Raistlin's experience in the Test and will surely captivate the reader's heart.

Margaret Weis has done it again. A wonderfull story. It fills in the gaps in the story that readers have been waiting for. Though I miss Tracy Hickman, Don Perrin has done well and captured the flavor of Dragonlance. A must read for any fan of Dragonlance or the Brothers Majere.

Continuing on the Enigmatic character Raistlin, this book goes into how Raistlin and Cameron learn how to fight together, and their beginings as adventuers. If you enjoy D&D, Wizards, and campaigning, you'll enjoy this quick read!

Weis has done it again! After SOULFORGE, I did not think that anyone could have written a better book. Was I wrong, and I am so glad!!! Its a MUST read for everyone, especially the awesome Dragon Lance readers out there! Peace and love.

Big disappointment after Soulforge. Weis is much better off without Don Perrin. He obvliously got to help because of his relationship to Weis and not because of any writing abilities. Glad I got this from the library. Would have been ticked if I had wasted 6 bucks on it.
