Doesnt have anything you cant find online on a forum for workingout. And I find the advice of you shoukd always check with a doctor before trying something is bad advice. My doctor usually will look at me somewhat confused and then reply back to me "should be fine to take it but theyre are no miracle pills". Not what you want to hear about something you dont know about. Do the research yourself first

was ok nothing earth chattering. I apologize for giving a false impression. I gave it two stars originally cause it wasn't for me I should give it 4 stars and explain. It is well written and a good book but just not for me I don't use supplements so it really didn't have any value for me. The two stars was not for me not that it was poorly written I apologize to the author for that

This book was complete garbage and a complete waste. It only caters to women. The author is obviously not having the right kind of people or supplements. I am a personal trainer and care deeply about each of my clients. Supplementation is not a waste and can help immensely. Why is this called a guide to workout supplements when all it does is crap on them??

I've been studying training and nutrition for years with mixed results, sometimes I'm in great shape and I let myself get soft and I'm always trying different things to see how my body responds to them. I don't pretend to be an expert but I do have a lot of experience and that experience has taught me when someones selling me a snake oil solution to fitness. There's none of that in this book, it's an honest straight forward look at how to get in shape. This guy has a YouTube channel as well and I've found his videos to be among the most helpful that I have found. He's got other eBooks too all of which are great, if you're sick of fad training and fad dieting and are ready to just put in the work and get in shape I highly suggest checking this guy out.

Finally someone that tells the truth about supplements: which are helpful and which are just hype! I have done a good bit of research on my own in trying to find the correct stuff and this book matches my independent findings to a t! Very helpful and enlightening.

Hey Folks, let me tell you Michael Matthews is the real deal, when this guy writes I listen very attentively, so should you, he separates the BS from the facts, just the facts.

Cheers,

Commonsense review of common supplements and macro nutrients for fitness and buidling lean muscle mass.
Rightfully eschews expensive ineffective and potentially dangerous supplements.
He does not push any companies products.
This is useful information to me.

Thanks for an easy explanation of what is what. Happy to know the AA I have been taken are really not needed, and that I should be adding some fish oil!! Thanks Michael Matthews for directing me in the right direction.

Some of his science is over simplified to the point of erroneous, and the information is now outdated as new research has come forth. Still a good basic primer on supplements. Use this book as a starter. It is not a complete source.

Very opinion based and the lack of Knowledge of the actual supplements used in todays scientific Sports Field is virtually unknown by the author.

The pros and cons of the different supplements and herbs are just not consistent with recent scientific journals and scientific findings in 2013/2014 now...
