Mr. Matthews is a very reputable, credible, respected health and fitness expert that just lays it out there. No sales or gimmicks..just simple evidence-based literature supporting what is correct and why

Overall, this ebook does an OK job of busting many commonly held muscle (gym) myths. However several of the take away messages still cherry-pick the science and do not properly (or in some cases, incorrectly) explain the science. For example - "protein is a good source of .. when cutting because of how little of it is turned into fat." This may be partially true insofar as the thermic effect of protein is higher than that of carbohydrates or fat and that a given amount of energy in the form of protein will produce less stored fat than the same amount as carbohydrates/fat but ultimately if you consume too much protein you consume too much energy and any excess will ultimately end up as stored energy primarily in the form of fat (This is actually a complex discussion and there is neither time nor space to even really begin to discuss the pros and cons of this message - which would need to include the chronic [long term] effects of a high protein diet).

Worse, after slagging off supplementation, the author actually admits that he uses a variety of supplements including "fat-burners", protein powders, . .. like many people of similar disposition, he probably has very expensive urine.

In summary, if you know very little, this book has some good practical advice that may benefit you and it "destroys" significantly more "bad-habits" than it promotes. However, despite the intro blurb talking about cutting out BS getting rid of "Broscience" etc - it unfortunately still perpetuates a few myths and distorts some of the science. Consequently I have trouble recommending it.

Very informative and easy to read. The information is all very relevant and it's astonishing just how much "broscience" and misinformation are truly behind so many of these myths that are all too often accepted as fact without questioning where they originated.

This book is absolutely amazing! The content along with Mike's real world experience and scientifically backed information is invaluable. Hands down one of the best fitness books on the market especially for the price. Mike delivers again with this book and it is a must get!

Another good Mike Matthews book and worth the money and time investment.
All 50 were not new to me, but it is a good list and if just one helps you on your quest then it was worth the $ and time to read.
I recommend all of Mike's books, I bought them all.
