This is an amazing novella about a wolf shifter looking for his mate. Although this was a short read it was fast paced, well written and, this book has it all; action, drama, love. It was also told in both the male's and the female's perspective, which I think adds more to stories. And just a heads up for some who may not like it but there are sex scenes in this story. Can't wait to read about more from this pack of shifters!

Jace Riveaux is a wolf-shifter in the bayou. He and the rest of his pack keep themselves hidden from most humans. There main concern is finding a mate during the Mating Season to help the pack flourish and continue.

Skye Michaels is a photographer who fell in love with the bayou and a bit in love with Jace Riveaux. She has a love of wolves and likes to catch the wolves in bayou on film when ever she can.

Skye and Jace have had a thing for each other for a few years, ever since they met, but due to one or the other being a relationship they have never made a move for being anything other then friends.....until now. Jace is single and Skye just ended her relationship with Lannister, who turned out to be a real jerk. In more ways then one. Skye didn't know what Jace was or that Lannister was after them.

Jace has realized that Skye is his fated mate, but how can he trust someone that has been sleeping with his enemy?

Ms. Cox does a fabulous job with her descriptions of not only the people and their actions but of the bayou as well. She brings the bayou and the river to life. I could feel the dampness in the air, see the moss hanging from the trees and the subconscious knowledge that there were creatures out there watching me from their hiding places.
The novella starts off quickly and moves at a fast pace so the reader is never bored or left wondering where the story was going. I liked the tattoos, especially how Skye described what she thought the paw prints represented. This book was just over too quickly. I want to find out more.
The only thing I had an issue with was the style. Each chapter was written in either Jace’s or Skye’s voice and I am not a fan of this style as is causes me a moment of confusion at the beginning of every chapter and I really dislike my reading flow being stopped.
However, I would not let that stop me from reading more from Kenzie Cox, as her storyline, characters and her descriptive style are wonderful. I found no flaws or other distractions. Truly a master story teller.

This is a delightful novella about Jace, a wolf shifter, and Skye, a lover of wolves. Both had an instant attraction to one another when they met several years ago but circumstances and other relationships kept them apart...until now! After an unwelcome visitor to Jace's family land leads to a misunderstanding, will Jace and Skye find their way to each other? Will Jace reveal he is a wolf shifter?
This is a rollercoaster of a read! It starts of quickly with the build up to to "will they or won't they", hurtles you down quick with the misunderstanding, and slows builds with confrontation scene. Emotions run along the same course from happiness, frustration, excitment and awe. The story is well written with characters you'll enjoy geting to know. I look forward to getting to know Jace and his family in future books.

When an unexpected storm forces them together they can no longer fight it. But there is more to keep them apart. Secrets and danger. Is she part of the danger or in danger? Old relationships put her loyalty in question.
A good shifter read with strong characters and family ties.

I just loved this book. It catches your interest from the beginning of the book and never stops. Sky and Jace are suppose to be together. Sky comes back into town to do a photo shoot and she feels a strong pull to be with Jace, who she has known for a while. He ex boyfriend is sewing the wolves to get their land. Her ex comes back into town to find her but she puts a stop to that. This is a very good book to read. I can't wait for the other books in the series.

THIS AWESOME BOOK WILL KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF!!!!!!!!!! I just can't wait for the next one. The story line is 'FREAKING AWESOME'!! The characters are SOOO AMAZING, you'll never want the story to end. Jace? YUMMY..yeah. If you love shifters you'll flip for this one. I was gifted this book for a honest review. AND I LOVED IT SO MUCH, I'll read this one again and again. Good luck on putting it down before finishing it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!

The goings on between jace and sky had me gripped from the first page. When I reached the end I was frustrated because I wanted more. This novella had the makings of a full novel. Great start to a new series! Jace has been attracted to Skye from the moment he sets eyes on her but one of them had always been attached. Their chance finally arrives and oh my is it HOT. Then the real world intrudes. She has ties to his enemy but seems clueless.

Great characters and absorbing plot made thus book fly by for me. I wish there had been more of it just cause I'm greedy.

The Bayou Wolves of the Rising Sun work together to get rid of the hunters. Jace and Skye are destined. Aiden will be next in the mating season. These are stand alone, but more fun and rewarding if you follow in order with the characters. Highly recommend. ENJOY !!!

Skype Michaels is a plus size model who broke up with her jerk boy friend and hide out in a town in Louisiana to get her head clear and to take the photos she loves so much. It also helps that this town has this good looking guy named Jace. She has had a crush on him for 3 years and he has had one on her as well. Still trouble is brewing and this story has some nice little twists in it and action too.
I will be checking out the rest of the series! Kenzie Cox is a great writer and the book was fun to read.

Well written and fast paced. You have to remember this is a novella so the story moves very quickly with very little back story, just enough so you understand the characters but not in depth.

Told from both male and female point of view which is always refreshing.

Both very strong characters. Here is to hoping someday the full story of Skye and Jace will be told.

What a great beginning of a new story line. Kenzie Cox makes you feel right there in the bayou. Jace Riveaux and Skye Michaels makes me wish that I was a Skye and had a Jace in my life as I read the story. I also liked the way the story line moved so fast. I was at the end of the book before I knew it. Thanks Kenzie for a great story. I can't wait for the next book.

I enjoy the story lines surrounding most shifter books,whether they're romance or action/adventure, they allow my mind to embark on a mini-vacation that I anticipate from the first sentence to the last page. This one didn't disappoint me and took me on a wild shifter ride for a couple of hours. Well worth my time.

When her ex returns, her trustworthiness is questioned. Can they move past all and be together. One of the best shifter books I've read in a long time.

I just finished reading the first book of the series by Kenzie Cox. The storyline is great and the characters have a lot of chemistry. The only thing negative I would have to say is the story seems a bit rushed to end. I'm going to read the next book hoping that its better
