First, let me say that the term "paranormal romance" has no appeal to me. That being said, I LOVED this book! The characters are so lovable and the story is fun ! I recommend it, even for those who don't think they are "into" these kind of books! I am anxiously awaiting the second book!

What a exceptional paranormal read! This was my 1st shifter/vampire book to read and I truly enjoyed it. Keep me up through the night and then early the next morning!! I couldn't sleep knowing that I was desperate to know "what happens next". You know it's a good book when your eyes hurt from reading but you tell yourself "next chapter I'll go to sleep"!!! Well this is one of those books. I don't give spoilers but you HAVE to buy and read this one. Cannot wait for the next book. His book has a HEA and is not a cliffy although the author does mention there will be other books for some of the other shifters & vampires. I will 1-click those bad boys in an instant!!!!

The author started out with a great story concept. Unfortunately as the story line progressed it became repetitive and slower. I was constantly taken out of the story by errors on almost every page; misspellings, grammatical errors, words that were repeated, and words that were out of place in the sentence. That ruined the story for me.

Cliffhangers make me so mad... I enjoyed this story until it left me hanging at the end.
I can understand a writer setting up for other books about different characters in the
series, but to have people, shot, cut, and kidnapped and leave that just hanging there
is uncalled for IMO. I could get the next book by signing up for news letters, but I am
done with this author and don't care to be left hanging once the next one is done since
that seems to be the way this author likes to write...
Too bad too, cause it was a decent story that I would have continued reading had I not
been left hanging and felt like I was being scammed into buying the next books...
I don't fall for scams sorry!
SO my advice to you other readers is, pass this one by unless you like being left hanging
and scammed into buying the other books to find out what happens.

Anaya/ Naya is a vampire princess. She was in line to go into Pulse a very popular nightclub to meet her best friend Kenzie who is a human and was already inside. Pulse is one of the hottest spots for entertainment in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area. Naya was very tense as her parents were preparing an arranged marriage for her.Minneapolis and St. Paul are separated by the Mississippi River. Naya didn’t approve of the vampire rules especially the one where all vampires were supposed to live on the St’ Paul side. All of a sudden Naya’s heart pounded with exhilaration, she hadn’t felt that in a long time as she felt someone’s attention on her. Naya tried to locate her admirer but couldn’t . Vampires only existed on Vampire blood, they could drink human blood but it would not sustain them. The new feeling was gone in a short time and Naya was more depressed than earlier. Kenzie went up to a couple of guys and was talking to them. Naya wished she had the male of her choice to fall in love with. Instead she would mate with the parents her parents chose for her. There would be no passion in her mating and if she had children they would be out of duty not love. Her parents were looking for for a future king not a future mate. Then Naya felt a burning sensation, it had to be her watcher that warmed her from her inside out. Then Naya went up to the bar for a drink and the only open space is near a very drunk guy who sorely needed a shower. The drunk tried to hit on Naya and was becoming insistent when Naya said she was with someone hoping the drunk would leave her alone. Then Naya senses a presence behind her and it was in anticipation, excitement, arousal, and exhilaration fused in one engulfing feeling. He just put an arm around her waist and kissed her neck and told her to go along with him. He played up to the drunk they were together. Then he told Naya his name was Vaughn. Then he asked Naya if she was okay and if the guy had scared her. Naya said she was fine. Vaughn had been staring at the most beautiful face he had ever seen. Vaughn first saw Naya when she walked into the club and he immediately wanted her. It had been awhile since Vaughn had been with a woman. Vaughn planned to go to Naya but he didn’t her to see him spying on her like a stalker. He wanted her to relax first he could tell Naya was edgy. He had come to the club with his friend and coworker Sawyer in hopes of getting a feeling for the club. Then Vaughn saw the very drunk man hit on Naya and that made him mad. Then Vaughn heard Naya tell the drunk she was with someone and he knew she had come alone so Vaughn went to Naya to act as the someone she was suppose to be with. And it gave him an excuse to touch her. Then Vaughn asked Naya to dance. Later that evening Arianna who was Naya’s cousin was preparing for first dinner of the evening. She was waiting with her aunt Celeste and uncle Marek who were the King and Queen of the vampire species. Arianna did not understand why Naya wanted to be with humans. Payton was in the family room when Sawyer stormed in Payton had known Sawyer since she was a little girl. He was like a second older brother. Payton’s father was Sawyer’s boss and Vaughn was her brother.
I absolutely loved this book another new favorite. I loved how Naya wanted to be herself yet tried to do as her parents wanted as she knew her place in Vampire society and that she was the next in line to be Queen and let her pick out who was to her mate and future King. I also loved how Naya stepped down when in front of the council and asked to be mated to Vaughn. I wasn’t too happy with Naya’s parents but then her father although King was not willing to lose his daughter or his future grand kids. I also loved that Naya volunteered at an animal center and saved Max. I loved how Vaughn for the most part was very gentle and loving to Naya even when Naya questioned his with her because she was pregnant. I loved the plot and pace of this story. I loved the forbidden romance part of this story. I really can’t think of anything I didn’t like in this book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend.

Naya is a vampire princess that will become queen one day and her parents are trying to pick a mate for her. she is tired of her family sheltering her and deciding what she will do with her life. Vaughn is next in line as alpha in the cat shifter clan. Naya and Vaughn meet at a nightclub and later learn that their romance is forbidden by the two factions. This is a wolf and cat shifter clan along with the vampires, but not all know about each other and they have been feuding for awhile. Good story, but the end went quickly and never knew how the kidnappings were solved or if they were. I guess it will be covered in the next book or two. A cliff hanger is fine, but I did not feel like the cliffhanger made me want to learn more. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

WOW!!! You need to go get this book ASAP! Or at least once it's released - which is soon :-) I can't wait for the next in the series, and then the one after that! I was instantly hooked and fell in love with the story and I just could not put the book down.. I think I would have finished it sooner had I not gone to work (which I did think about :P). Sure there were grammar issues and it needs to be edited - but a) there wasn't enough of them to make it difficult to read and b) it didn't take away from the story at all. I loved the authors take on the supernatural creatures in this book. I also loved the characters and how each was unique in their strengths and weaknesses - they weren't all perfect.

I want to know what happens to Kenzie and Sawyer - will they finally get together? What about Damien & Payton? Oh my word, there are so many unanswered questions and yet there is enough of an ending that I feel satisfied knowing where Naya & Vaughn's relationship stands - I'm so unbelievably happy that they finally talked - for a while I was a little frustrated with them both for not talking about their doubts and fears with each other, but in the end it all worked out. I don't want to go in to too much detail because I don't want to give away any spoilers so I'm just going to say this again - go get this book as soon as it comes out! You won't regret it. This book has everything - romance, suspense, action, mystery, supernatural creatures... everything! Go get it now!

This was a fabulous book of the paranormal, Vampires, Cat-shifters, Wolf-Shifters I loved everything about this story and as you go through the story you know somethings not quite right and you get that niggling feeling your missing something and dame you have to just keep on reading till BOOM there it is !! all the secrets are revealed leaving you finally going 'oh of course' and wham it all makes sense!!

Expertly written with unexpected twists and super hot sexual encounters this book is one hot steamy read, completely action packed and a lovely flowing read which keeps you gripped till the very end.

I so loved the characters and their personalities, the main characters are just made for each other and as we see their love blossom and obligations get in the way of their true love you just can't help but think surely here will be a happy ending!!

Excellent and lovable supporting characters and you can get a feel of other future love blossoming between others and the whole background and history is explained giving a more in depth into their past and the reasons for some people reactions in their now future!!!

This is a superb story and was a pleasure to read I can't wait for more in this series and hope we won't have to wait long !!!

This was my first time reading R.L. Kenderson and I have to say that I am so glad a I took a chance on this book. This was an amazing book and I could not stop reading. Naya and Vaughn are the perfect couple, I loved the alpha maleness of Vaughn and the innocence of Naya. I loved how the relationship between the two developed it made for more interesting reading. The one thing I loved above all was the authors ability to switch from character to character without overwhelming the reader it was cool, and it made it harder to figure out which characters would be the focus for the next book I loved that usually I can figure it out but not this time. Overall I was extremely pleased with this story.

Oh yes a Princess for the Vampire race and a next in line Alpha is that not a recipe for HOTNESS!?
Naya feels smothered by her parents, her race, and her life. So she decides to go the club with her best friend. She wants to let loose and feel free! She is rescued by the sexiest man she's ever seen. Vaughn noticed her the second she walked in the club. He stalked her through the whole club and when a drunk hits on her he rushes to her rescue.
The have an amazing night and Naya is suppose to go back to her life. She really is!
Vaughn can't stop thinking about Naya and Naya is heartbroken that she will have to let Vaughn go.
Then the unexpected happens and they get there chance but, will a enemy from the past destroy it? You really must read it to find out!
Great writing, yummy scenes, action packed, and leaves you wanting to know more of this world! I'm looking forward to what the author comes up with next!

Great book I loved the story line and everything but have to admit I was disappointed that a part of the story just ended and it went to epilogue so you know it obviously worked our but you don't know any of the details it's like it was missing a chunk of the story and then bam went to epilogue , unless it tells it in other books as this is no 1 of 3 but it should of been told in this story
But I still really like it and want to read more definitely

An excellent start to an erotic paranormal romance series that definitely has me in it's embrace, wow! Several stories occurring at the same time made my interest skyrocket as the subordinates and their stories are extremely captivating. But the main stars of this book are very alluring. The vampire princess and her shifter mate had me laughing happily! And this is only the first book in a series with more intrigue and romantic comedy waiting in the wings! Wow, what a book, plots within plots, multiple POV from different characters, steamy love affair, complex characters and intrigue make this a definite must read. I loved Vaughn and Naya's story - Vaughn wasn't interested in relationships, he was just having a good time and Naya was about to be forced to mate with someone not of her choosing but when they found each other, all bets were off. I think I feel in love with Sawyer though, no offence to Vaughn. I cannot wait to read the next in the series and see how the other characters' stories evolve.

A great first book in this vampire/shifter paranormal series.
The characters were likable and easy to root for. I would have loved to see more of their relationship develop especially in the beginning. The minor characters were enjoyable to read and I'd love to see more of them in future installments.
The plot was engaging but I would've loved to see more action and drama like the ending. Sometimes things were tidied up quickly rather than adding more risk and stakes for the characters and their story which I would've enjoyed more. I love a good high stakes story but this one kind of lacked it for me.
Also there were times the author explained things which kind of took me out of the story for a moment setting off the pacing.
All in all, the story was good and I plan on reading more in the future. I love paranormal and now have a new series to look forward to. I can't wait to find out what happens to the other characters.

Suffice to say I loved this book, and already cannot wait for the second in this series to come out. While I am an avid reader I have to say I am very cautious about trying out new authors. But when something is recommended to me a lot of times out of respect for the recommendation I will read the book. And this one is a gem.

The characters pull you in and Vaughan, to be frank, is hot. Definate book boyfriend material.

The couple are not as fraught with problems of being together I think, they are more of miscommunication and reading between the lines and ineviatably reading them wrong. It was quiet refreshing from this book to be honest. Usually there is a big problem a big split and then the happy ever after. While there is a split it is not as insurmountable as they think and it makes them rely on each other more than anything else.

If you are looking for a book that makes you want to smile and laugh in places and want to start a new author or series, I couldn't give this a higher recommendation. As a reader with almost three thousand books in my collection this gets more than a thumbs up.

I freaking loved this book. I just read another vampire novel and I wasn't feeling vamps after that one, but this made me do a 180. I love it. It was funny, and sexy. Pretty sure I laughed and then my anxiety spiked. Wonderful book. I won't be reading the 2nd novel, simply because I need to skip to the 3rd to figure out what happened with the best friend.

Forbidden Blood is a quick and enjoyable read.  It has vivid imagery that had me engrossed. It offers action, drama, intrigue, and romance.  Anaya and Vaugh's chemistry is off-the-chart. The dynamic between them kept me entertained. I appreciated the family drama associated with Anaya, it had me rooting for her happiness throughout. I adored the relationship she had with "Leo," it kept a smile on face. Looking forward to Payton and Kenzie's stories.

This is just an awesome paranormal romantic read between vampires and shifters and is totally addictive. A hot and steamy romance with a great storyline and once you start this book you will not want to put it down, in fact you will have to read the next book asap!

I really loved this book. It is a fantastic paranormal romance. I haven't read one this good in a long time.It was so sexy. I absolutely cannot wait for this next one. I instantly fell in love with the characters and the story was great. I am biting at the bit to find out what happens to a few characters who I hope have some sort of conclusion to their situation in the next book. It's driving me crazy. I am so excited. I will tell me friends about this book. They will love it.

Wonderfully different - refreshingly so. I was thrilled with this book. Absolutely loved it! Vaughan and Naya were great together. I was very absorbed by their story. Only one issue for me, but not enough to make a stink over. My issue was the end of the chapters to the epilogue timing was 4 months apart. I was enjoying this too much to not know what happened in that time. However, the reason I said it wasn't enough to make a stink over is that I see we get Damien and Payton's story next and then it is followed by Kenzie and Sawyer together in their own book. Yep, can't wait, as I'll be reading those for certain. I know my blanks will be filled in with those two stories. Now, I just have to be patient,...oh boy, make that I have two issues...

I was given an advanced copy which I read voluntarily, this book has it all pride,prejudice,hot shifts,vampires and shame bad wolves. Then you have hot good wolves,oh and let's not forget the lost shifter cat at the shelter with the silver collar. So many coincidences yet so much fun. This book has it all adventure,love,hot sex and pregnancy can't wait to read the children's story wow that's gonna be great. This is definitely a must read for anyone who likes shifters,vampires,and happily ever after.
