If you like D list super villain or the Blackjack series, this is worth a read. Very enjoyable. I read a few books every month and only leave 5 star reviews for the deserving Authors to try and help other people find interesting fun reads like this. Warning-u will have a hard time putting this one down at night.

This books main character is probable one of the most interesting I've seen in a while. Mess with him and he might get snarky. Mess with those that he loves and he will bring on the pain. The entire book is about his perch between heroes and villains and that the difference between the two can be more labeling than substance.

This book captivated my attention and read it all in one setting. I'm definitely looking forward to all the sequels. Well written and worth the read. My be considered a harem novel by some but so far it's PG. Maybe the next book will step up potential romance. The action is good and the storyline has several twists to keep it interesting.
The Dungeoneers :: Undeath & Taxes (Fred Book 2) :: Super Powereds: Year 4 :: Orconomics: A Satire (The Dark Profit Saga Book 1) :: Caverns and Creatures: Volume I (Books 1 - 4)

Very easy to read and interesting story. Once I got started reading it, I had trouble putting it down. I have already bought the second book to continue the story.

Based on another review I saw, if you are looking for a goodie two shoes comic hero with no flaws, know going in that the lead character isn't that kind of person.

It was an experiance like a manga, only without pictures drawn, they were in my mind. An ordinary guy (with a unique power) with a harem of beatiful girls, superheroes no less. Action, manga, sci-fy, if these are up your allye buy it. Cant wait for a sequel. And i mean it. Please write it. I beg!!!

Arand got it right. As the book went on, questions and what-ifs arose. As the book continued, answers were provided. This balance was perfect, satisfying and added the piquant spice that kept me engaged. I don't normally read high fiction, but this was a delight, nothing less. I sincerely look forward to the next books. I enthusiastically hope for many more.

The story starts out right after occupation by the villain. Some fairly gruesome events in there, offset by some special powers. The writing could use some improvement to add some more detail to the world but it works well enough to convey the story. Will certainly buy the sequel, plenty of questions left unanswered.

Was looking for a quick fun read...jackpot! But the characters had more depth than expected and I found myself more invested than I ever imagined I would be. There are a lot of times where I just thought.. "what about xyz?" and "why didn't they just do this or that?" Then I realized that was the fun and draw of the book. The characters are flawed, Super, but flawed all the same.

Never has such a great adventure been created from bargain shopping. This was a real barrel of laughter with plenty of twists. The story had me captured and is definitely the best new book I've read this year. A tale for those looking for a realistic look at what life would truly be like in a world with super powers. Judge not a hero or villain solely by their title but by the actions they take in life. I hope to see a continuation of this great novel.

I absolutely loved this story. Original idea, fast paced, well done! Actually got caught up in a well-fleshed out group of characters. Looking forward to more of William Arand. Definitely worth the read!

Anticipating the second book I read this for the third time and still found I couldn't put it down until was done. I highly recommend you don't start it until you have enough time to finish it with minimal interruptions.

While the story and the powers of the main character are not luging terribly new, the behaviors and attitudes of the characters within this story are refreshing and make the entire book come to life. I feel as though things may have progressed a bit too quickly to really understand how hard they must have worked, and the final fight was a bit glossed over. During the book it didn't feel as though there was much effort put into the antagonists and they are left feeling flat and undeveloped. Still, it brings me back to read it more than once so it deserves the 4/5 stars

While it had some flaws, the setting was well conceived and the writing was generally fairly solid. I feel like I took a chance and am glad I did, because the book was a great read that I finished in one evening. I hope the author writes more like this!

Outstanding. Loved the concept of a villain run city and a frank view on supers believing the end justifies the means.
One of my favorite stories. I've read it twice this year alone. Please write more.

I started reading this an hour before I wanted to hit the hay. I finished it before I feel asleep 10 hours later. While some of the themes disturbed me a little, the writing drew me in. A pretty good study of moral relativism. :)

Slightly better than Otherlife , definitely much more original.

A little to gruesome for my taste, but it works.

It's not high literature, but it's definitely a fun read. The last few chapters seem very rushed.

Buy, if you need something to read during a long flight.
