Love the single page learning format of this book. I pick it up when I only have a few minutes and quickly zip thru 5 or 6 principles that I want to frequently be reminded about. Good sound advice that is representative of the current changes in wellness science. Bravo! It is a great coffee table book that my friends peruse when visiting.

Although it may seem like just another diet or health fad, there are a lot of great ideas in this that I have incorporated into my daily life that are more than just a diet or fad. Well worth the money.

I found the ebook a 'light magazine article' type experience. Great photos. Each topic in the self-improvement arena was given only a sentence or two about what we have come to consider as, the obvious, for our well being. The information would only be educational to the person who didn't know that white sugar and white flour was bad. I did make a few notes for important reminders. I will read more from them.

I answered one of the reviews here that was saying this book was pretty basic and when I was updating it I decided I'd just repeat myself in my own 5 star review:
"The more I study and research health the more and more I become aware that consistent application of the basics is what matters most. I have bought many 'health care' books that are complex with detailed research and theory so a small book about basics appeals to me.
I'll read The New Health Rules and report back. UPDATE: Read it Love it!
Also, I would suggest to anyone interested in common sense helps to 'seek out' herbalist Richard Schulze's small (266 page paperback): Dr. Schulze's 20 Powerful STEPS to a Healthier LIFE. This book can be read online for free. [...]
or contact Dr. Schulze's company American Botanical Pharmacy in Marina Del Rey, CA for information on how to get a hard copy.
Dr. Schulze web site is [...]
His herbal products are wonderful --only many of his products contain peppers which I have a sensitivity to. I still take a few of his products and I love them and I have friend who use all his products. Schulze is a Hoot -He is authoritative and dogmatic but with a great sense of humor. His teaching is down to earth, natural easy and common sense. He shares a lot of great information from his books and his blog.
Please never pass up information because you think it is too simple, too basic. Simple, God given natural remedies work and are often low cost or even FREE. Truth wherever you find it will set you free. I think it is important to give credit where credit is due and I find the hard copy of 'The New Health Rules...', beautiful and helpful. I keep a copy on my coffee table and I review it often. I have also given it as a gift. It has great simple ideas for Human Health. Along the lines or simple, powerful truths consider for Human Spirituality what the Word of God proclaims in 1 Corinthians 1:18-31.
You cannot buy or sell hope and the best things in life are provided free by the Grace of God. John 14:6"

Such a beautiful and easy to read/easy to understand/easy to implement book. It takes wellness to another level, and I am grateful that mostof these ideas are very thoughtfully presented and beautifully illustrated.

Excellent simple book that all outlines many key healthy living and nutrition teachings Frank Lipman discusses in his books and blogs. He is one of the best nutrition experts focusing on diet, exercise, yoga, detox. Highly recommended

I was hoping for some practical and main-stream advice for long-term healthy living. There are some gems sprinkled in, but mostly it is a new-age book that has highly complex philosophies intertwined with expensive and sophisticated lifestyle changes. This book is written for the 5% at the top of each of these categories - not the top 20% who would like to stay in a healthy and happy range without spending 100k a year in that pursuit.

Simple yet powerful health changes to create impactful life extending longevity. Dr. Lipman hits on important health changing topics without allowing them to become to overwhelming with unnecessary words and engages you with inspiring photos. Great for keeping yourself in check on your lifelong health journey. Great gift for love ones as well.

Simple, basic info. Not appropriate for anyone who is advanced in their nutritional knowledge, but great for those who are just beginning their adventure to adapt healthy diet and nutritional guidelines.

Absolutely love this book and how it's organized. I read it in one sitting and made a list of all the inspiring and easy tips. Finally - a one-stop place that makes sense of all the conflicting health advice we hear today - and makes it easy to implement, too!

I thought this might contain information based on advances in science. I didn't find it as I expected. The new rules seemed the same as the old ones - but I didn't finish the book so perhaps there is some treasure hidden in it.

This book is for everyone. The short, info packed chapters are easy to understand and can spark simple changes to improve your health. It's not at all overwhelming like some of these kinds of books can be. Choose one thing to change and build on that. I highly recommend this book!

In the crazy, rushed society we live in today, Dr. Lipman has given a gift to us all with his book. In a short amount of time, you can get a wealth of topics to delve deeper into yourself - IF you have the time! Following his suggestions, should bring all readers to better health in no time.

This is a very knowledgeable author (I have one of his earlier books, plus this seems to be "my" area so I'm familiar with Dr. Lipman) but I sure am tired of the Paleo Diet nonsense. Look it up; its benefits have been much over-rated. This may sound a little simplistic but really, humans only became civilized when we settled down and ate grains. WHOLE grains --- very unfortunately confused with heavily-process crap so ubiquitous in our stores --- are a necessary and valuable part of a healthy diet. If you don't trust wheat eat farro or short grain brown rice or quinoa; there are many others. Additionally the way one eats has quite an impact on one's mood and interaction with those around him or her. So go ahead and eat Paleo in the early part of your day, but you'll find you sleep better, feel more relaxed and interact more pleasantly with the other human beings around you if you dial back the protein and ramp up the whole grains (and legumes and maybe nuts/seeds) toward the later half of your day. I wanted to like this book; it has many good points and I admire the authors' skill in distilling complex topics down to essentially written word sound bites. I wanted to buy a large number of copies and give it to friends and relatives (so they would no longer need to listen to ME!). But unfortunately it has become tainted for me, with not one but at least three items/pages, where grain-bashing has occurred.

This is my new favorite book...with short entries on many topics, I find it immensely helpful and inspiring. It's easy to overwhelm yourself with 'to-do's for achieving better health and wellness, and I like how Dr. Lipman keeps things short and simple. I've added colored tabs throughout the book to highlight the ideas I want to start with. Look forward to making some positive changes in my life! Thank you for keeping it simple!

Great and practical advice for a healthy life. I read this book in one sitting and was truly inspired to adopt its principles. The book covers all facets of life, body-mind-soul. It not only contains great information about eating and exercise, but also talks about using chemical-free products on your body and in your home. It talks about getting enough sunshine, good sleep, meditation, and much more. Some of it I already knew, but it's written in a way that motivates me to follow through. It's a book I'll read over and over to keep anchoring these healthy habits.

Thank you Dr. Lipman for once again creating the perfect inspired read! Beautifully designed and with accessible, bite-sized chunks of exceedingly helpful information, it's a feast for the eye and the soul. I raced through this in one sitting and have it handy to dip into at any moment. I'm ordering more copies to give to family and friends.

This book is filled with false information such as when it states that GMO seeds are injected with antibiotics and hormones. Do research. This is NOT how GMOs are created nor is there any evidence they're bad for you. Horrible book.

Lots of mostly obvious advice mixed in with some really ridiculous ideas. No actual research shown, no real information for his "rules," no development of the ideas. You just have to take his word for it all. Sorry, not my idea of sound health or medical advice. The high levels numbers of good reviews on this book just show the troublesome trend of many who reject sound scientific research for the advice of dubious shysters and quacks.

Short, lovely reminders for staying healthy in our world of changing dangers. Simple but clear.
Would make a lovely gift. My only disagreement would be that I'd have chosen different photos for the yoga illustrations. Simpler poses for the less practiced body. You don't start walking by comparing yourself to a marathoner.

The book’s message is to the point and concise. I was happy to receive a review copy of this book. It is filled with gorgeous photographs which immediately make you want to go get fresh, wholesome ingredients or start a yoga practice.
The book covers food exercise, supplements, sleep, emotional wellness, and many other areas. Little tips like buying local and organic produce to ensure you are consuming nutrient rich food, taking supplements for better sleep or recharging adrenal glands, and switching up your breakfast for half an avocado, sardines, or boiled eggs with greens for maximum nutrition.
Favorite quote: Yoga is about a lot of things, but largely it’s about learning how to stay in an uncomfortable place.

This book is excellent. Dr. Lipman and Danielle Claro get right to the point! The pages either have a paragraph or so on them or a photo. Everything written is understandable and interesting. The book itself is beautiful, including the cover. Every little detail is appreciated! I am definitely incorporating many of the things in this book into my daily life. I liked it so much that I bought it for my mom. She got it today and told me that it's everything I said…..and more! I will continue to buy this book for others that I think will be interested. Congratulations on an outstanding, thoughtful book that will help many people!

Overall, this book gave practical ideas to help make your environment and body healthier. Some ideas were on the extreme side given my way of life, but overall they seem reasonable and easy to implement.

Such a great idea for a book: beautiful images and simple-but-powerful health tips, many of which totally surprised me (i.e., you're supposed to eat the whole egg, yolk and all). I've never been able to get through a health/wellness book before--this one is truly fun to read and i've even been re-reading it, turning to random pages. The voice is very down-to-earth and as a result the info stays with you--I've already implemented several of the suggestions almost subconsciously (i've ditched the anti-bacterial soap!).

I was grateful that my son-in-law recommended this book to me. Though my years on earth may be less than his, I may live the rest in better health choices. I like how each chapter is to the point. It will be easy to use a my guide. Thank You
