Zoom (Picture Puffin Books)

Provides a hands-on activity for educational presentations. Can be used to illustrate several points. The only problem I had with it was the fact that the instructions and ideas did not come with the books. I had to find them online. Should have ways to use, instructions with the books.

Great book for team building activity. We tore the pages out in order to use it this way. Very effective for discussing perspective and communication.

My children also enjoyed it before I took it to work! They had some very interesting thoughts on it for 4 and 7...

I use this book with several classes I teach - adults and children. Makes you think about perspective and this concept can be incorporated into most disciplines. I have seen it used in the traditional (science, history...) classroom and also vocational classes (construction, nursing...). There are just so many great uses.

We used Zoom in a Team Building excercise. I separated all of the pages and distributed to our team; they had to work together to assemble the book back together. I look for team building excercises each month for our meetings; using Zoom was one I had read about and decided to use. The team loved it and it made everyone think about 'things not always being what they seem.' Great Book.

While looking for ideas to use at a planning retreat, I stumbled upon a suggestion to use this book. Thankfully, there was no "give away the surprise" with this suggestion, so I was able to turn each page of this wordless book and discover the unexpected. Even once I realized what was going on, I was greatly impressed by the creativity of author-illustrator Istvan Banyai. Everyone at the workshop was equally as delighted in discovering what the next page might be. I've since recommended this book to many others. It helps you ponder your perspective of things and also realize how we are all connected.

My daughter, aged 4, was a little bit confused at the book when it first arrived. She didn't like that it didn't have words. After "reading" it with her a couple of times, it has fast become one of her favorites.
More then once I have found her in bed "reading" this book by herself and she will still pick this book on occasion for one of her bedtime stories.

I purchased this book to use in a group activity. The sequence of the pictures is pretty remarkable. I took a smaller sequence of the pictures matching the size of group I had and had them determine the order of the pictures by discussion and viewing only their one picture. It was a great team builder and communication exercise. However, the book is also a fascinating use of a zooming perspective of a series of items.

Believe there may have been some dampness in the paper, because as I was laminating individual pages for an activity, the lamination did not adhere evenly. I couldn't tell that there was dampness by touching pages or looking at them, so it didn't effect the visual of the bright colors until I laminated. Otherwise, love the book!
