Hard to Hold On To: A Hard Ink Novella

They did it! They guys at Hard Ink succeeded in their mission to save Sara’s sister, Jenna, from the clutches of Sara’s ex and the horrors of the Church gang! Easy can’t believe how close they had been to losing her, if only he had stayed with her to keep her safe. But nobody expected Bruno to be so ruthless once he found out about Sara’s betrayal. Now Jenna is traumatized and banged up, but she’s alive!! But Easy is the only person that makes her feel safe, so it’s his duty to help her through this. Right?

I don’t really know what to think of Easy and Jenna as a couple. The attraction was there from the previous book in the series, Hard as you Can, and has carried over to this book as well. They both have ugly pasts to fight and it makes sense for them to heal together.

I also found it strange how much time Easy and Jenna had to themselves. If she had been my sister who had been kidnapped, I wouldn’t want to leave her for a moment, and would be driving her nuts!! But Sara seems fine to let Easy deal with her instead…

This book also broaches the subject of suicide, and was the most emotional part of the whole story. It was good seeing how everyone came together to help a friend in crisis, and to show others out there with the same suicidal tendencies just how important it is to lean on friends to help you though to the other side.

This book was just an okay read to me. I wanted to like it more, but with the abrupt ending, it just felt incomplete to me, like there was more story to tell. More about this romance. More about the Church gang. More about the mission to clear these discharged men’s names. This book did not advance the storyline on either of those last two points at all and just felt like fluffy filler. It felt like they jumped off the roller coaster from the last book, to go on a Sunday drive in this one, when there were many more thrill rides to experience back in that amusement park!!

I’d have been much happier if this had been a full-length novel that did broach Church and the mission to clear their names once and for all!

This tackles a very real problem many people face, especially our Veterans. It is a wonderful story of love and acceptance of a person who believed he wasn't worthy of love.

Laura Kate is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors. This book is riveting from the beginning, as Easy works through the demons that haunt him from PTSD. He finds comfort in Jenna's arms even as she works through the trauma of being kidnapped and drugged by Churchmen gang members. This book rocks! You will love it.

The latest installment of Laura Kaye's Hard Ink series is an emotional hard-hitting story of what PTSD can do when it takes hold of someone. It's a great love story too but it has a gripping emotional depth that will stay with you long after you finish the story. I can't wait until the next story comes out.

This novella was great! Easy was someone who made my heart ache and me cry. hearing him confess to what was going thru his mind was hard to read. This story was so heartfelt and yet hopeful. This series is just amazing that I can't get enough of it. can't wait to read more.

As usual the chemistry is instant. But I have great empathy with depression and was most surprised to hear the military statistics in the afterword. What a tragedy that America doesn't know this. On a lighter note, I am grateful for the novella since we have to wait until December!!

Just love this book about one broken man that needs help to deal with past military tragedy. He end up saving a young woman from the bad guys. They end up helping each other to survive and believe that life is the way to go! So enjoy the read and the audio for this book!

Do yourself a favor and read this series. it will keep you wanting to know so much more about these characters. I love every book so far and can't wait for the next. Thank you Laura Kaye for always writing great stories. I always recommend your books to anyone who asks what to read next.

This novella was awesome!!! Confronting Easy's demons was a tough subject but the author handled it beautifully. I loved the chemistry between he and Jenna. Talk about hotness!!! This series is so good!! I love it. Can't wait for the next book. Happy reading people!! Happy reading!!!

This was a excellent story, and a great reminder of our military men and women and how much they give us. I love Easy's story and Jenna for supporting and encouraging him. I love the whole team and how they are there for each other no matter what.

5 Stars. Easy has been hiding himself away since he was discharged from the Army, secluded from his brothers. Finding solace in Jenna and admiring her strength, Easy finds the need to show his scars so he can be a better person for Jenna, for his own life as well.

Such an emotionally gripping story of love, loss, and finding the courage to keep going after devastating events. Jenna and Easy's story was so touching. I love the Hard Ink series more and more with each one I read. Laura Kaye is just brilliant!

Jenna and Easy have a story about finding love and overcoming the past. Each character has gone through some traumatic times. It's sweet and sexy and heartwarming. I am really enjoying the "Hard Inc" series and can't wait for the next story.

I gave this novella five stars because it was well written and the characters were great. As someone who struggles with my own mental illness, I enjoyed the way the author dealt with this sensitive subject. I recommend this book for you.

I nearly skipped this Novella and what a mistake that would of been! From the gorgeous cover to the highly emotional and truly important story within, it was all-around fantastic. The only thing that would of made it better was if it was longer! I didn't want it to end.

Another great addition to the Hard Ink series. I'm definitely hooked on this whole story line. Well written and very interesting and intriguing. Can't decide which of these I like the best. Hope we're closing in on the solution to the big mystery.

Kaye really hit her stride with this novella. Beautifully told, the perfect mixture of sweet and hot, all delivered with a poignant touch at the end. A solid read and my favorite of the first three stories in the Hard Ink Series.

Love, love, love the story of Easy and Jenna!!! It was wonderful to see such a hard topic, written so beautifully. I craved more of the heart wrenching story and only wish it were longer!!! Laura did a fantastic job of bringing to light a very serious issue among our veterans. I only wish more could be done by all to help lower the number of 22's.

A good short story, this author does not disappoint and this storyline keeps getting more and more interesting as the men of this team find their partners in love and life. I look forward to the next book in this series.

The Hard Ink series is fantastic but Easy's story is so special. Having a military friend that is currently dealing with PTSD, this story hit every heart string. A must read for fans of Laura Kaye, but also for every military friend or family.

I wish that everyone would read this beautiful story. It really brings home the struggles of our courageous servicemen and women. As a wife and widow of a veteran i know the many sacrifices they make on our and their country. Thank you Laura Kaye for this touching story.
