The Start of Us (No Regrets)

It was good in the beginning, adventurous and romantic but the end was weird. I am not sure what to make the end and what it will mean for the next book so I guess I will have read The Thrill of It next.

This short beginning of a story was flowing, and very I enticing that will have you want more and cause they give you a taste for the next story you will get hooked as I have. Two people with their own demons coming to terms that they make the best of one night they meet, and what are the chances that both their demons are the something similar. Yes I will read on!

I personally think that flipping back and forth from one POV to another can get confusing and it sort of did in this book. I don't give away spoilers in my reviews and I won't start now...but I sort of lost track of what was happening b/c the POV kept switching.

I have read (audibly) every single thing Lauren Blakely's written. If it's been published, I have read it. (heard it, actually) and I was lucky enough to stumble upon this gem of a novella to get me started on Trey and Harley to see what I thought. Normally, a romance with teens is something I might pass by with too much angst and drama and what I feel are silly problems teens and young adults face. Gang, don't pass this series by. Matter of fact, if you are currently reading something else, STOP and start this one. This prequel will set you up for the ride of a lifetime. This entire three book series, days later, is still with me. It's not the usual LB fun and games fluff fun read, trust me. It''s one of the most unique, riveting series I have yet to listen to in many years with Audible. The No Regrets series has this little short 1.5 hour prequel, and then two following books: The Thrill of it and Every Second with You.
We find Harley and Trey meeting, and experiencing a connection that's strange and unique and towards the end, you are made aware this is not the last time their paths will cross. And, you're glad for it.

Wow, what an enticing introduction into the No Regrets series! Trey and Harley are so beautifully broken and intriguing. They have instant chemistry when they meet, and they don't want their night together to end. Tomorrow brings huge changes for them both and they never expect to see each other again. We get a peak into what their dark secrets could be and it only makes me want to know more!
Narrators, Erin Mallon, and Joe Arden deliver a flawless performance. They make Trey and Harley come alive and perfectly express all of their emotions.
I can't wait to listen to the rest to Trey and Harley's story!

This is a defining moment. A short recap of Harley and Trey's first meeting. I definitely think you need to read this after The Thrill of It. I don't think it would mean as much if you read it first!

Harley and Trey’s meeting at a tattoo parlor was fate. You feel their instant attraction. Both running from and owning their demons, they have one night to enjoy one another. Each having to pay for sins of their past, they make the most of the time they have together.

Joe Arden and Erin Mallon are so great! I can’t get enough of their narrating gifts.

Holy Smokes I am LOVING these characters. I am so glad we got to see how Harley and Trey meet. Getting a glimpse of the attraction these two had for each other after just one meeting. AWESOME job Lauren Blakely!!! This little novella is sweet and sexy and I flippn' LOVED it. 5 stars!!!
