It’s a scorching and erotically-charged journey to self-discovery for two men whose connection starts out casual but quickly becomes consuming in this m/m romance set in the BDSM world. It’s a quick read but no less satisfying as the two leads engage in a delicious dance that left me blushing with each turn of the page but cheering its truly happy ending.
Jamie Fielding always thought he knew what he wanted in life, thought he knew what satisfied him, until the day he takes a friend’s advice and walks into a world he never knew existed. What starts out as erotic lessons soon becomes something more as matters of the heart unexpectedly become involved. Jamie’s young and exuberant to learn about this tempting new world and jumps in wholeheartedly the moment he meets Alex. He held nothing back in a relationship that started out as a student/teacher before quickly becoming something more profound, something that changes his life irrevocably. Despite all their lessons Jamie never lost his youthful demeanor which brought joy and hopefulness to his relationship with Alex. His youthfulness also brought unnecessary drama though as he let his father’s judgments mar the happiness he found in a frustrating act late in the story.
Alex McGarry’s been a Dom for years, is a master at it and has always felt self-assured with who and what he is. Lately though he’s feeling a bit lost and feeling that something’s missing. The moment he meets Jamie he sees a young man brimming with excitement and innocence, a young man whose naivete could lead to hurt, but he also sees just what he’s been missing. Though he worries his brand of dominance might be too much for Jamie, he also can’t stand for someone else to get all of Jamie’s firsts. They start out as student/teacher between the sheets but long talks away from the club soon has Alex thinking of the future until Jamie’s self-doubts put a wedge between them that might ruin everything. Alex is very intense, very serious at the start of the story. Being with Jamie brought him joy and rare smiles would flash, smiles that were richly rewarding. Despite this gruff side Alex is clearly a caretaker. The quiet moments after their sexual interludes were heartwarming for the blatant affection he bestowed on Jamie, moments where his actions spoke louder than words. The closer they got to each other the more hopeful I was for their future, especially after seeing these moments.
Alex is clearly the more mature in his relationship with Jamie, not only age-wise but also when it comes to accepting oneself. Alex is very self-assured while Jamie’s just discovering who he is and what satisfies him. At the club they’re a combustible couple, both feeding off the other in interludes that left me parched. When it comes to the outside world though Jamie’s youth comes through as he let the judgments of others mar his journey to HEA. The moment came out of nowhere, felt overly melodramatic, and though I wish it hadn’t occurred at all it at least was worked through quickly. Despite that distraction this was a story full of decadent delights, intensely erotic encounters that vividly depicted the BDSM lifestyle, along with a surprising bit of heart that slowly crept into their many scorching encounters. Though this is part of the Blasphemy series, with previous characters making appearances and showing support as an unconventional family, it stands strongly on its own. Alex and Jamie are a likable couple for the most part and courtesy of a sweetly written final chapter I was left with a smile on my face.

With series after series, Laura Kaye’s riveting storylines and compelling characters have kept me addicted to her writing. I love everything she writes but I must admit that the prospect of reading another M/M romance by this author had me particularly excited to get started on the newest installment of her Blasphemy Series, On His Knees. Blasphemy is by far her steamiest series to date, with each book pushing the envelope in a fresh, stimulating manner by exploring a different facet of the BDSM community. And On His Knees is off-the-charts steamy. As in, you’ll be fanning your flaming cheeks and double checking no one is reading over your shoulder because it’s so steamy. And I loved every minute of it.
As one of the twelve Masters and co-owners of Blasphemy, Alex McGarry is a seasoned sadist, longing a meaningful relationship with someone who shares his particular tastes. The near-jaded Dominant is looking to follow in the footsteps of his fellow Masters and settle down with a committed submissive. What he doesn’t expect is to find is Jamie Fielding, a lawyer whose recently discovered attraction to men and an unquenchable sexual craving for pain and humiliation comes as a complete, but welcome surprise. Jamie journey of sexual self-discovery leads him inside the doors of Blasphemy and straight into Alex’s capable (if wary) hands.
Jamie’s eagerness to experiment and push his boundaries ignites a fire under Alex, who challenges the younger man physically, emotionally, psychologically, etc. The lines between fantasy and reality blur as the two men indulge in their innermost, darkest desires. Their romance is a whirlwind – a raw, lust-fueled, passionate, primal affair. These two characters are captivating, drawing you deeper in to their all-consuming, overwhelmingly intense relationship with each new chapter.
With a fast-paced, addictive narrative, a relentlessly erotic romance, and characters that’ll tug on your heartstrings, On His Knees is a must-read, whether you’re a fan of the Blasphemy Series or are just in the mood for an incredibly sexy M/M romance with an extra dose of kink. Once you get started, I can guarantee you won’t want to put it down until the very last page. Laura Kaye delivers yet another unforgettable installment in the Blasphemy Series with On His Knees, and I can’t wait to find out who/what comes next.

I've really enjoyed this series, though BDSM reads are typically not my favorite. It's just not my kink, and I was afraid I'd have a hard time connecting with the characters and their needs. So far, that hasn't been an issue at all. But it was this time. These characters' kinks are on the far end of the S&M part of BDSM, and it was hard for me to get into it. That doesn't take anything away from this author's writing, which is always stellar.
Jamie Fielding is a patent lawyer, and is terrible at relationships, but not for lack of trying. He's never seemed to be able to make it work with a woman. Something is always missing, and he's never been sure what. Funny enough, a conversation with a good friend of his (a familiar face if you've read this author's other series!) puts him on quite a journey of self-discovery. Not only does he come to realize that he's a masochist, but he also realizes that he is bisexual. Through an introduction to another friend of his friend, he gets an invite to check out the private BDSM club, Blasphemy. He's nervous, but so excited to further investigate this previously unknown part of himself. Maybe he can finally find what he's been missing.
Alex McGarry is a psychiatrist, with his own practice. He's also 1/12 owner of the Blasphemy club. He's been unsatisfied with his play there for quite some time, because he wants to settle down with someone. But, that's hard to do sometimes in the lifestyle, especially with his sadism kink. He doesn't need it every time he has sex, but he DOES need it, and so he has to find someone that fully embraces him, and the pain he needs to give them. When Master Kyler asks Alex to give a new tour to a prospective member, he knows Kyler is up to something, but it isn't until he meets Jamie, that he understands why Kyler was so adamant. Their needs align perfectly, but Jamie is very new to the lifestyle, and to being with a man, and Alex isn't sure he has the heart to train a newbie at this point in his life.
Alex and Jamie's chemistry was very strong from the start, and I enjoyed watching Alex fight against Jamie's pull, without success. I enjoyed their interactions with each other when they were getting to know one another. But, their sexual encounters didn't really do it for me, as I am not into humiliation/pain/degradation, and while that was working well for Jamie, it just made me uncomfortable. I don't judge anyone for what they like, but I just couldn't really get into reading about it. I did feel for them, when they had their issues, because I think everyone has wondered if the person they're with is happy and proud to be with them. That's just human nature, and feeling as though that is not the case is devastating.
Alex and Jamie were at different places in their lives, with about a 10 year age difference, but I loved when they realized they weren't so different at all. They were both looking to have a successful, long-term relationship, and they started to realize they could have that with each other. My heart was broken by the way Jamie handled rectifying their issues, and I really felt for him during those scenes. I was a bit mad at Alex for how he was handling it, but I forgave him in the end. My only other issue was that I wish we could have had more resolution between Jamie and his family. I would have liked to have known more about that part of his life and how it resolved.
I enjoyed the brief glimpses of the other Masters and their submissives from the prior books, and I especially loved the super-fun cameos. Even though I couldn't get into the sexy times in this book, the romance itself still came through for me crystal clear, and that is due fully to the talents of the author. I truly enjoy Laura Kaye's voice, and her style, and her world building. She makes you really care for her characters, and because of that, I'll always read anything she writes. There will apparently only be one more book in this series, and I'll be sad to see it go. But, I'm excited for the new series she's announced, and for her getting back to her roots with former military heroes!

MY REVIEW:
Sometimes the most unexpected reviews are the most rewarding. I hadn't planned on reading Master Alex's story anytime soon. You see, the subject matter of sadism and masochism are two of which I cannot wrap my head around and do not know much about. Since there are two of us who alternate reviewing Laura's Blasphemy series, I offered the work up to the other reviewer. Unfortunately, something came up and she had to back away from the review. It is not like me to let the Ms. Kaye or InkSlingerPR down, so obviously I'm doing the review.
Here is the thing about the Blasphemy series. You not only get a fantastically hot, sexy, romantic, scorching story, you also receive an education because she has done the research. Even though this is a short novel, the characters of Master Alex and Jaime are well developed. Jaime's frustration and confusion were palpable before he ever walked into Blasphemy. After reading this, I swear I will look twice at some of the men and women who are heavily tattooed and wonder if they are not masochists at heart. Maybe not to the extent Jaime is, but it will make me wonder.
The fear Alex harbors deep within his heart to never have a fulfilling connection with another person touched me deeply. I think we all wonder if we will have that. I certainly did. It's why I married my husband, in part. Love grew from our twenty plus years together, but it wasn't the primary reason we are together. We are two very different people who learned to compromise the they were to make this marriage work. Kaye showed us love can be found, even in a short period of time, if you are patient, open and willing to give yourself a chance. Alex learned via Jaime's willingness to learn, eagerness to finally be happy and connect with himself and another person who truly understood him. Love is love is love. Light to dark, joy to sadness, yin to yang.
Though I still do not understand why someone enjoys the S/M lifestyle anymore than I understand why people smoke marijuana to relax (it gives me a migraine and yes I know I am a weirdo), I now have a better understanding of the lifestyle. More importantly, we'll see Master Alex and Jaime again. Especially since they are adopting a beautiful little girl whom I hope gives them nine kinds of heck.

If you are not curious or comfortable with the idea of sado-masochism, of non-consensual role play, then ON HIS KNEES is not a book for you, so please move on. Or dare to take a walk on the wild side, live dangerously even if vicariously, expand your horizons, take a chance on an extraordinary book…
Master Alex McGarry, at almost forty, would love to settle down but his latest encounters have him wondering if the BDSM life has lost its spark. Alex wants to settle down, but because of his sexual proclivities, he wonders if he will ever find that special someone. Jamie Fielding had been dating a woman for two months, and again another attempt at a relationship fizzles. Sometimes Jamie has a problem performing, and he worries about images he needs to generate to be able to achieve some semblance of sexual fulfillment. To try to feel better, Jamie goes to Hard Ink Tattoo to get some more ink – but mostly to feel some of that wonderful pain that getting tattooed brings. That’s when Jeremy Rixey, the tattoo artist, tells Jamie that Jamie might have some masochistic tendencies and Jeremy can put in a word for him at Blasphemy, the exclusive BSDM club. At first, Jamie is nonplussed, but after doing some research, he comes to the conclusion that he needs to at least have a look…
Man, this is HOT! Laura Kaye outdid herself once more with this amazing story.
I loved how Jamie analysed this situation coolly and rationally, re-evaluating his sexuality, his tastes; his road to self-discovery was riveting. How Alex and Jamie met was brilliant; it was so simple and yet electrifying. I was completely mesmerised by Alex and Jamie, separately and together, and Laura Kaye did the impossible because ON HIS KNEES is possibly her best book ever, my favourite book in the Blasphemy series, and definitely the best erotic romance I have ever read. This is not “cute” S&M, this is the real thing, with people who need it, who breathe it, who live it. The sex is scorching hot, the chemistry blistering; it is powerful, intense, raw, and gut-wrenching. The “mistake” almost took my breath away, and how it was resolved was astoundingly realistic and touching.
Now, for the “trifles”: my favourite book boyfriend ever, Jeremy Rixey, is in there! I wish the epilogue had been longer, because wow; I gobbled ON HIS KNEES as if my life depended on it, and I wanted more, more, more. I would like to see Mistress Dyann, I can’t wait for Master Leo, I can’t wait for Laura Kaye’s next book. Oh my God, this was an awesome read!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

4.5 stars-- ON HIS KNEES is the fourth instalment in Laura Kaye’s contemporary, adult BLASPHEMY erotic, BDSM, romance series focusing on the twelve Masters who own, work and play at the BDSM club Blasphemy. This is forty-year old psychiatrist and Master Alex McGarry, and thirty-year old attorney/submissive Jamie Fielding’s story line. ON HIS KNEES can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. There is a slight cross-over with the authors HARD INK series with the cameo appearances of tattoo artist Jeremy Rixey and his fiancé Charlie Merritt.
NOTE: ON HIS KNEES is a M/M story line with sexually graphic language and text including strikingly detailed, sadistic and masochistic sexual scenarios that may not be suited for all readers.
Told from dual third person points of view (Jamie and Alex) ON HIS KNEES follows the building relationship between Blasphemy Master Alex McGarry, and submissive Jamie Fielding. Jamie continues to struggle to find that special someone in his life but it is not until his most recent tattoo session that a light-bulb moment blew up his mind. Perhaps Jamie’s interests lie elsewhere with the realization that pain and humiliation are what it takes for our hero to get excited both in and out of the bedroom. With a recommendation by tattoo artist Jeremy Rixey, Jamie ventures into
REVIEW
the world of BDSM and Club Blasphemy-a world he previously knew nothing about. Enter Master Alex McGarry, a stubborn, strong but independent man looking for someone as well. What ensues is the building relationship between Alex and Jamie, and the fall-out when Jamie is unable to accept all that he is and has become.
The D/s relationship between Jamie and Alex is quick to develop. From thinking himself a heterosexual male to becoming a masochistic, sexually fluid (aka bi-sexual) submissive took but a matter of hours, and in this I struggled with Jamie’s rapid acceptance of the lifestyle and relationship in which he was about to enter. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense; the S/M scenes are graphic, detailed and carnal. Jamie’s need to submit is heart breaking and sad. I commend the author on the strength of the writing as it pertains to Jamie’s needs and wants.
ON HIS KNEES is an impassioned and decadent story line of self-discovery. The premise is palpable; the characters are energetic and fierce; the romance is intimate and edgy. ON HIS KNEES is an enthusiastic tale about trust and acceptance, and two people who found what they had been missing.

This is the fourth instalment in Laura Kaye’s Blasphemy series. Centred around an exclusive private members BDSM club co-owned by 12 Master Dominants. This story centres on Alex McGarry; a Psychiatrist by day, but Master Alex inside the club. Something is missing for Alex though, he loves to dominate and is the perfect sadist, but he’s restless and the club is not sating him, and watching his friends pair up and find that perfect someone is just a little hard to watch as that’s exactly what Alex is craving, but what are the odds that he’ll find someone who’ll share his unique brand of domination?
Enter lawyer Jamie Fielding, who’s finally―at nearly thirty years old―coming to the realisation that he harbours submissive traits and loves the bite of pain. It takes a visit to his tattooist to make him see that this is something he craves and can’t ignore the calling much longer. I loved the fact that Jamie’s tattooist was Jeremy Rixey from the authors Hard Ink series which I loved, it was great to see how Jeremy and his fiancée Charlie Merritt are getting on and that Jeremy still sports his hilarious (and often very rude) pun t-shirts.
Jeremy points Jamie toward Blasphemy and to a coming together of Alex and Jamie. Thing is though, Jamie’s a complete newbie, never even been with a man before and although he settles in like a duck to water, Alex doesn’t need anyone that green but the more he gets to know Jamie, the more he realises how perfect he is and what they could have together.
Jamie seemed to fall into the D/s lifestyle quickly, but it was how fast he had sex with a man for the first time which felt a little unbelievable and too easy because he did so without any soul searching or fanfare, it just seemed to be skated over. Also, as they begin to fall deeper, something happens and Alex pulls away and wants nothing to do with Jamie. I thought this was very harsh of Alex considering how new everything was to Jamie; dating a guy and the whole BDSM lifestyle. It felt like one mistake and poof! you’re history, and even when Jamie tried to be contrite and apologise (this bit was heartbreaking) Alex was still quite hard and stubborn.
On the whole this was a pleasant story of two men finding just exactly what the other needed. The BDSM was descriptive and well researched and the scenes were hot. It’s a good addition to the series apart from a couple of gripes.

'Jamie Fielding was like the bright, warm flame to Alex’s cold, lonely heart.
And it was {censored} hard to look away from the light.'
Jamie Fielding can’t understand why he seems to fail at every relationship he’s been in. He longs to find someone to share his life with but there’s always something missing whenever he’s with someone and he just can’t figure out what the something is. He may finally be able to shed some light on those needs of his when a friend lands him an invite to the exclusive and private BDSM club, Blasphemy. Alex McGarry, one of Blasphemy’s twelve Masters, is feeling a little jaded with the whole scene lately after struggling again to find a partner who can handle the type of play he enjoys. When the young and eager Jamie shows up at his club, he’s at the same time hesitant because of his newness and intrigued by the things Jamie claims to want to try. Through their play they are both able to explore not only their intense connection but also new aspects of themselves. Master Alex is able to open Jamie’s eyes to a whole new world but what will he say when Alex wants him to go all in?
You can’t go wrong with a Laura Kaye book and this was another great addition to the Blasphemy series. Laura Kaye knows how to bring the heat and her M/M books really crank it up to another level! Alex is a sadist and Jamie always seemed to get the most pleasure when there was pain involved so getting involved with Master Alex really allowed him to explore his masochistic tendencies. Not to mention also exploring his sexuality, having always been with women in the past. I wasn’t sure how I would like the S&M aspect but Laura Kaye has a knack for portraying these kinks in a tasteful, responsible manner while also maintaining the heat and sexiness. I enjoyed following along as these two explored this thing between them and found it sweet as they started building something beyond the walls of the club. There was a bit of angst and the fallout will tug at your heart a bit but the resolution was very sweet!
“All this time…all this time I thought something was wrong with me. When I just needed this.” Those gray eyes slanted up at him. “And you.”

So far the books in the Blasphemy Series have been short, sweet, super hot and surprisingly emotional. When I saw the synopsis for On His Knees, I only hesitated about a second when I saw it was M/M and leaned towards the S/M side of BDSM. That’s a bit out of my comfort zone, but I knew Ms. Kaye would make this work, and boy was I right.
Right from the start, I loved that Jamie wasn’t some immature child of a man looking for a Daddy figure to rein him in. I’ve seen that one too many times in BDSM books with a M/M element and it usually does nothing for me. Jamie was a great guy who’d done well for himself as a lawyer. He knew he was missing something with the way his relationships were going and set about trying to figure out what “it” was. Once a well meaning friend clued him into his possible masochism, he took a very methodical and well thought out approach to finding out if it really was for him. His kink may not be my kink but I respected the heck out of the way he went about figuring things out and coming to terms with his needs.
To say Alex was gun shy about starting anything with Jamie was an understatement. Alex’s needs were particular and hard to meet. I think as the resident sadist, he had become jaded and was no longer getting the fulfillment he had in the past. He was looking to settle down, but he’d been burned before and knew starting something with someone brand new to the scene was a bad idea, no matter how well Jamie seemed to fit his needs.
Surprisingly, even though M/M isn’t my jam, Alex and Jamie were so freaking hot together it’s a wonder that my iPad didn’t catch on fire. What ratcheted up the heat factor was the emotional aspect as Alex helped Jamie discover huge parts of himself and what made him tick.
The only thing that didn’t work well for me was the drama at the end, well, Jamie’s show of contrition. I can’t even put my finger on why, other than to say it felt overly dramatic and I couldn’t picture Jamie acting that way. Other than that little blip, I truly enjoyed On His Knees, and can’t wait to see what Ms. Kaye has in store for the next Blasphemy Master to fall.

We find Alex feeling a little lost at the beginning of the book. I think it is a combination of frustration from not being able to find the right partner for him and his needs and longing as he has been watching his fellow Masters and friends find their one match. Alex is aware that his Sadism needs and wants are far from standard needs and desires. He is less than excited when he is give the task of welcoming a newbie to Blasphemy with masochism tendencies. Sure there is an attraction, they seem to have similar desires but can he put himself out there for someone learning the lifestyle?
Jamie is trying to understand yet another failed relationship, he is turning 30 for crying out loud, should have this figured out by now. Needing the sting of a needle to clear his head he visits or friends of Hard Ink. Where conversation leads him to really think....maybe he has been looking in the wrong places for what he really needs. Once he opens his mind to the idea, he jumps in both feet, eyes wide open. Spending hours researching and finding himself with a trial at a BDSM club in a matter of days. As Master Alex shows him the ropes of the club, he begins to feel a little less lost with each turn. Willing and ready to learn, to see if this is what he has needed all along and not backing down when things get harsh.
Will Alex open himself up? Is this what Jamie has been looking for all along? Are we witnessing another joining of hearts in the Blasphemy church?
I truly enjoyed this book. Yes the sadism/masochism can be a little harsh but the emotions that Ms. Kaye brings forward with these men is something else. I found myself routing for them all along. Even thought I loved the characters and the book, knowing that these books are a little shorter in length, I would have liked a little more time with Alex and Jamie. But it didn't change the outcome for me. Excited to see what happens next in the world of Blasphemy.

Alex has been watching his friends, the other Masters at Blasphemy, pair off and start to settle down with their submissive soul mates. He longs for that same connection but is starting to fear that his kink won't allow him to find it. He is a sadist who gets off on providing the pain others need to find their pleasure, but he is starting to question whether anyone out there can really handle him.
Jamie has just been dumped yet again, and he is sick of failing at relationships with the opposite sex. He is missing something in his life but he doesn't know what it is. When his tattoo artist makes an offhand comment about Jamie being a masochist, he isn't sure why that resonates with him. When he starts to do a little research, it's an eye opening experience that has a lot of little things clicking into place for him. He accepts an invitation to talk to Master Kyler who decides to play matchmaker and introduces him to Master Alex to provide some insight into the lifestyle.
As much as he doesn't want to believe it, it seems as though someone made Jamie just for him and it doesn't take long for them to start burning up the pages as Alex introduces him to his world. I will admit that I don't really dig S&M but it was written in a way that I didn't really bother me. The only cringeworthy moments for me happened when an element of humiliation was thrown into the mix and fortunately those were few and far between.
On His Knees is a quick read at under 200 pages, and as such there is an insta-love element at play here too. Jamie is earnest, loyal and reminded me a bit of a lovable golden retriever. Alex is intense and demanding as you might expect, but he really lost points with me for his behavior in the last few chapters. All things considered, this book was a fun read and a nice addition to the Blasphemy series.

(I voluntarily Reviewed an eARC of the book for For The Love of Fictional Worlds)
Alex is a jaded Dom with sadistic tendencies, who has finally reached the stage where he wants and needs to have a meaningful relationship, gender be damned. He just wants someone who would love the same proclivities he does and accept him the way he actually is.
Jamie is a man who only just understands exactly what he really wants – and it’s like he has found the missing piece of his soul; and it was gratifying to see him accept his own orientation with the grace that he did.
The attraction between Alex and Jamie is instantaneous and sizzling hot – I adored the way they just fit together! It was so easy to see their connection to each other and the feelings that were instant!
I just wished that they had been given a detailed epilogue; because with the investment that I made into them, I needed that closure; but that’s just me *shrugs*.

Jamie doesn't know what is missing, he just knows that something is. After many failed relationships, and at the age of 29, Jamie starts to figure it out. He wants a bite of pain with his pleasure. With the help of his friend, Jeremy (thanks Laura Kaye for that revisit!), Jamie is directed to Blasphemy. There, he is able to explore what he wants and/or needs. Not knowing that would come in the for of Master Alex.
Master Alex has been looking to "feel" something, too. He just didn't know that what he was looking for was the human connection he finds with Jamie. Jamie's tastes align too perfectly with his own, that it is frightening for him.
What a wonderful story of two people coming together. Perfect pieces to a crazy puzzle they have been both trying to figure out. Love is love is love! This is a great story by one of my favorite authors.

This is book #4, in the Blasphemy series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. To avoid spoilers, and to fully understand the series, I recommend reading this series in order.
Alex feels like he is letting down those around him. He used to believe he had his life all planned out - and suddenly it feels lost to him somehow. Then he meets someone who needs him and what he can provide.
Jamie has felt like a failure for some time. He never seems to feel right about relationships. He cannot describe what he needs to someone else, so how could he find it?
This was such a great journey. I like how the MC's went after what they wanted and were unapologetic. Their heat was hot. The slow burn felt almost like a live wire, because when it picked up this book was on fire.

Laura Kaye always manages to suck me into her books with just a few pages. On His Knees is no exception. I loved the connection that Jamie and Alex could form in their days together. These two men needed each other and it was obvious from the first time they met. There were so many moments that made me tear up.
The sex scenes in this book are very intense and beautiful. One of the scenes is a roleplay of a home invader, forcing themselves on the homeowner. Yes, it’s very intense and I will say could trigger a reader. However, all the other scenes are well thought out and passionate. They show the bond that the two have.
This book was such a good love story. It’s about two men discovering what it is they were missing. I will be thinking on this one for a long time.

Two people tried something new. Alex was new to playing with an inexperienced sub, while Jamie was new to the lifestyle in general.
Alex was an intimidating man from what I gathered in all the other books. He was as solid as one could get. I really liked that though he seemed scary to most people, he found his match when he met Jamie.
Jamie pushed the boundaries, probably because he was new. I liked the way he made Alex feel -- unsure but excited?
This book was fairly short, but as always, Laura was able to hit me right in the gut during the climax of the story. I really admired Jamie's way of penance, though naive, it was effective. He was just a kid compared to Alex. That was an interesting concept as well.
Overall, I appreciated the emotional journey they both went through

Holy Smoke!
Master Alex, where to start with him. He knows what he wants is to settle down, but will he ever find the right person with the same desires as his? He has watched the other Masters find significant others, so when they all try their hands at matchmaking, it just makes Alex mad.
Jamie has always felt that he wasn’t cut out for relationships. He thought that he was bad at them, because he never could find one that lasted. So, he has a friend get him in at Blasphemy for a 2 week trial. From the moment he meets Master Alex he begins to question things about himself.
Misunderstandings happen and Hearts are broken. These things will break your heart too! Especially, when you see the depths that Jamie is willing to go to make Alex understand things.

Holy smokes…On His Knees by Laura Kaye completely blew me away. THIS BOOK….wow, seriously I have no words. Yes, this book is not your conventional cookie cutter romance but WHAT THIS BOOK was about was exploring and seeing a different kind of passion. A passion and intensity that explores BDSM on an emotional and physical connection. I don’t want to spoil the book but I will just say this love story is about finding yourself and acceptance. So if you are looking for a book that explores a sexual awakening and takes it into a whole new light and perspective then I HIGHLY urge you to read this book. Trust me when I tell you Laura Kaye has truly outdone herself with the story of Jamie and Alex. Her writing was an emotional flawless masterpiece. A must read!

I really enjoyed this book. I'm not familiar with the series since the first four books were m/f, and I only read m/m, but it did not detract from the reading experience. I never felt like I was missing anything and the characters from previous books, while present, didn't play a huge role in this one making it a true standalone story.
The book is definitely more on the erotica side. There were several smoking hot scenes depicting sadomadochistic scenarios that threatened to set my kindle on fire. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough. I would've liked to read some of the conversations mentioned that led to the two main characters building their emotional connection. The book had the right amount of heat, but not enough relationship building moments outside of the club.

Jamie has just realized that he has desires that are so deep he hasn't even begun to explore them. As he does, he is drawn to Alex and these two connect in a very hot way. Jamie's journey into the place he feels like himself (BDSM) is very erotic. And while the story unfolds in a relatively short time frame, the emotional connection is strong. Though I was not a fan of how Alex behaved near the end of the book (like a total jerk AND a guy who goes back on his promise to Jamie) I did love watching the way Jamie takes his 'fate' into his own hands to get what he wants in his relationship. My overall feeling about this book is it is steamy and I'd read more from this author.

I absolutely loved this book. Alex and Jamie's story was so sweet and beautiful. Both men were lost and searching for something more. Alex knew what he was looking for but he just couldn't find someone to be his HEA. Jamie was feeling lost and he wasn't sure what it was that he was missing. He kept putting the pieces of the puzzle together to find his true self. When he and Alex come together, it's like everything clicks and seeing their journey apart and together was so beautiful.
I loved seeing more of Jeremy and Charlie from the Hard Ink series and the rest of the Blasphemy crew. Laura Kaye just made On His Knees my new favorite in this series. I've read it twice already!

The chemistry and emotion between Alex and Jamie was amazing. I knew that they were going to have issues, not only because Jamie was new to the lifestyle, but mainly because he had never been with a man before. I think Alex overreacted and did not handle things well with Jamie. The ending felt rushed to be, but I realize that this was a novella and not a full length book. This was definitely a story that I think deserved to be longer.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.

ARC received for honest review. Laura didn’t hold anything back with this Masters story. I loved the back story about one person knowing what he wanted but couldn’t find that person and the other not knowing what or how to know what he wanted. She takes you on a journey through love with these two and it touches on many topics that are important today. The best message from this story is that Love is love is love. I loved the fluidity of the story. The Blasphemy series has been one of my favorites and this one did not disappoint. I also loved the peek back into Hard Ink. #reviewthread

This story was amazing! Two men that are a perfect fit that stumble and still make it work! Jamie and Alex are two men that on the surface have everything together. But Jamie is unable to keep a relationship going because there is a something missing in himself. He finds himself being referred to Blasphemy, where he meets Alex. The two of them discover what they are missing with the other. The story is such so well crafted! The sex scenes are hot but I was most captivated by the groveling. It is heart melting! Do not wait to read this story!

This book was incredibly hot, I loved it from cover to cover, couldn't put it down. My favourite of the Blasphemy Series by far.
Relationships just don't seem to work for Jamie and he finds solace in pain. Another failed relationship see him in a tattoo parlour chancing the high he gets from the pain. This points him on a pathway to self discovery, in the direction of Blasphemy and sadist, Master Alex.

Wow! Laura Kaye just keeps getting better and better!
This latest installment to her Blasphamy series is hot hot hot!
Alex and Jamie have chemistry that's off the charts, but this book also has lots of feels.
I love how this author shows how Jamie put a lot of thought and research into perhaps finding a new lifestyle.
Alex struck me as a little stand offish until the end.
I thought this book was a little short, but maybe it's just me being a selfish reader.

The emotional rollercoaster was totally worth it! I wasn't sure how weird the m/m romance would be for me but the blasphemy series is my favorite so I decided to give it a shot and I'm so glad I did! The character development, plot line, and romance was everything I've come to love about Laura Kaye's book. Highly recommend this book!

I enjoyed the newest story in this series. Alex and Jaime were awesome together. This was a short read and I wished it was longer. I also enjoyed learning more about this aspect of this lifestyle. It was a bit different from other books in the series. I loved the quick appearance of two of my favorite characters from the hard Ink series.

I have read this series from the beginning and really enjoy getting to know a different master with each new story. I loved the instant connection between Alex and Jamie. If I had any complaint, it's that it was too short!! I would have loved to see more of them in and out of the club.

Every book in this series becomes my new favorite! I love that this series keeps evolving beyond my wildest expectations. Alex and Jamie are every couple trying to figure out who they are and what they want. And I loved the little epilogue.

There's nothing like being 75% through a steamy book and realizing you're so invested in the characters that you start crying when the obligatory plot shows up.
It's excellent. One of the best books like this I've read in a while, really. A little rushed for the ending perhaps, but very well done.

Holy Hotness!!!! Uber Ugly cries! Beautiful every lasting love. I just spent the day with the most beautiful love story. I have a new favorite go to book when I need to remember what true love can be.
I have to be honest, I didn't think this series would be my "cup of tea." I am happy to say that I was so wrong. The author takes a topic that always made me blush and made it beautiful. This story takes beauty to an all new level.
Master Alex is feeling lost. He is a little out of sorts. The others can see it. He knows something is missing. But what?
Jamie just can't make a relationship work. His latest tempt at happily ever after has just walked away. His answer is a tattoo. He needs the pain. It is a shame he doesn't see the complete picture. But have no fear Jeremy does.
Walking through the doors of Blasphemy changes everything. Under the care of Master Alex, Jamie accepts.
Walk through the door with Jamie and discover love. It won't be easy. There will be mistakes. Devotion needs to be shown and accepted. True love is worth everything.

Wow! This series! I just love it!! Laura Kaye rocks!’
This is a super fast, super hot and super sexy read!
It is an amazing story about love and self discovery. Just shy of 30, Jamie never realized what he truly needed to feel whole. For so many years he thought there was something wrong with him. He knew he was missing something but until he goes for a tattoo at my favorite tattoo shop with one of my fave tattooists (great cameo there) he wasn’t really in sure or in touch with what that was. That leads to a visit to Blasphemy for the first time and a meeting with the very sexy sadist Master Alex. He soon finds out what he’s been missing and what he needs. At 40, Alex has come to a point in his life where he is ready to settle down. He just hadn’t found anyone who was his match in every way until Jamie.
I absolutely totally adored the epilogue!!

I love Laura Kaye books and the emotion she brought to Jamie and Alex did not disappoint. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book like this that was not only hot to read, but also a bit disturbing. How is this possible? The combination doesn’t make sense, but it works in the context of this storyline.
Jamie is a man who is reaching the age of thirty and has never had a real relationship with any woman. After his last failed attempt at one he feels like something is missing in his life, but he can’t pin it down. Needing to scratch an itch he makes an appointment with Hard Ink and we have a beautiful crossover moment with one of my favorite characters, Jeremy. Jeremy is currently in a long term relationship with Charlie, but is known for switching it up for both teams. Jamie has a huge revelation while getting inked and soon finds a whole new world opened up to him; submission, masochism, and degradation. Jamie finds the piece of himself that he was missing.
Master Alex is a sadist, but lately has been feeling the lack luster of giving pain to submissives. He can’t place his finger on what’s missing except a feeling on maybe someone is in his life. When Alex meets Jamie for the first time he hesitates to give his what he needs, but it isn’t long before Alex crumbles and succumbs to Jamie’s natural submissive ways.
This book isn’t for the faint of heart, but it is a great addition to the Blasphemy series and Hard Ink crossover.

The chemistry between Alex and Jamie is electrifying. Alex has become weary, dissatisfied witb his life. He wants to find someone who meets his sadistic needs. Jamie finally realizes what's been missing from life and relationships. He sets out to find it at Blasphemy. Alex, at first, keeps Jamie at arm's length but finally realizes he really feels something for this man. They discover how much their kinks align and begin an intense 6 days of discovering each other. Their first outing in public as a couple ends up costing both of them lost time with each other because of Jamie's insecurities and Alex's lack of understanding. Jamie sets out to show his contrition while Alex basically ignores him. Finally understanding and forgiveness is given by both parties and they declare their love for one another.

Just finished and am breathless. So much emotion packed into this novella that I am still in turmoil from how this author’s words made me feel. The Blasphemy series is one of my favorites, and seeing the man behind the sadist nearly brought me to my knees. The chemistry between Alex and Jamie was explosive, and the realistic portrayal of obstacles inherent in the lifestyle brought me to tears only to be healed by the love of these two characters. 5+ emotionally loaded stars!!

I have a love/hate relationship with it LOL. LOVE LOVE LVOE the book...HATE HATE HATE that I finished it. OMG the end (don't want to ruin anything but...sleet...broke my heart but she mended it at the end!) Laura can make you hot, make you cry, laugh and just lose track of time in a story you don't want to put down. The very end was the best with the what happens in July 2022 wink wink. Can't wait for more Masters to find their story!

Laura Kaye out did herself with this book as well as the other books in the Blasphemy series. Jamie and Alex's struggles to be together as a couple was topical but like all true love was able to overcome them with help from friends.
Please RateOn His Knees (Blasphemy)
As one of the Masters at Blasphemy, Alex McGarry knows a thing or two about sexual preferences. With no clear definition of a desire to only play with men or women, Alex is finding that he is not fulfilled with any partner in particular. With an introduction from another Master, Alex is introduced to a brand new potential member to the club scene. With no desire to teach a brand new submissive the ins and outs of the BDSM livelihood, Alex finds that there is something about Jamie that piques his interest. A pull that cannot be ignored.
With a mutual intensity that neither man can ignore, Alex and Jamie find that they might have more in common than they think. As Alex and Jamie explore their desires with one another, a shift happens in the dynamic of how each views his sexuality. Can they find the one thing that has escaped their grasp in another male? With their desires and hearts on the line….uncovering their deepest desires might be harder than they ever imagined.
Whew!! Talk about an intense search for finding your soul mate! This quest for finding that special someone isn’t without a lot of soul searching. Alex is struggling to find the person that ‘completes’ him. Jamie has never found a relationship that filled his heart. Together – they explore their desires in the realm of the BDSM world. Their kink is an exploration in trust, desire, and most of all respect.
Laura Kaye has written an extremely complimentary novel that delves into the BDSM lifestyle. Something that only showers the novel with the depth of detail that Laura Kaye puts into her writing. A compliment to the intensity and realism that the author places into all of her books!! On His Knees was definitely an intense dive into the relationships that one can have when looking for love.
