I found myself instantly drawn to Kitty. Her strong will to survive, her social conscious, everything about her hooked me in. I found myself relating to her in some ways even. I loved this book, I find myself wanting to know what happens next. How does her life with Tom end up? I wish there were more.

I loved the courageous Kitty O’Cain!
Never a dull moment in this woman’s life!
You imagine being right there with Kitty, trying to protect her from her self imposed danger!
I will read it again in the future!

I enjoyed the historical aspect of this book. It was interesting the interaction between idealism, realism and the motives behind an individual or a groups' actions. Kitty's determination to make her own way and be independent while still being dependent on men, often not to her benefit, was impressive.
new and revised edition (Classical Historical Fiction Book 2) :: Daughter of the Nile (Classic Historical Fiction Book 3) :: the story of Cortes and La Malinche (Classic Historical Fiction Book 4) :: romance and courage (Classic Historical Fiction) - A haunting story of adventure :: Not Alone: Second Contact

I really enjoyed this read.. the characterization of Kitty, Tom & Lincoln were great... I felt the passion, the sadness and the energy. The story and description of the Russian Revelation was so vivid... captured the the ugliness of socialism & communism.

Light read, not what I would call thought provoking nor insightful, however, a nice read on a snowy day. Too much history as a backdrop, and not really all that relevant to the storyline..less of t hat would have been preferable. So just skim over those sections.

The situations and historical details of this story were entertaining, the characters were not. The title character, in particular, seemed poorly formed. While reading, I felt as though the author never got to know Miss Kitty O'Kane, and so, of course, the readers will never know her either. She may be unkillable, but this book certainly is.

A great way to consume history in an entertaining fashion. The characters are believable, even if the circumstances seem otherwise. A wonderful book and highly recommended for anyone interested in people and history.

Very entertaining in a frustrating way. So little self-esteem, yet always being "tough enough" to make it thru histories major disasters and events. I wanted her to see her own value and to reach journalistic sucess , but happiness did win out in the end.

Not a huge fan of the characters choices and found myself frustrated with some of the actions. Didn’t really relate to the main character especially but the story was compelling and it was entertaining.

This was an the store freebie for Prime members. Thankfully it was better than most which fall into the category. There were times when I felt as of I was reading a fictionalized account of Angela's Ashes or about the female equivalent of Forrest Gump (always in the midst of world changing history). But the book improved as Kitty's story grew. The end was a bit too predictable, but overall it was a nice read. I truly appreciated the aithor's afterward detailing his research of different people and events of the time and the impact on this story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book – Kitty being the character she is had an adventurous life that kept me reading to the end, couldn’t put it down. A lot of it is based on real history and then there was some fictional stuff thrown in --- good read!

I have ties with Ireland so always enjoy books that have anything to do with that country. It was interesting because I knew where parts of the story took place. I don't think you will be disappointed with this book as it holds your attention all the way through.

I liked this Historical based drama and its psychological insights from WWI through the cold war periods. I thought the female psyche was well written by this male author! I also related especially to the Irish parts. I recommend this read. Would like to see more of his work.

Loosely based on several real people, Falconer has created a character who takes us through two notorious shipwrecks, the Russian Revolution, and the Irish Civil War. The story is always engaging and enlightens as it entertains.

Although a good read, the description of the book was deceptive, in that I thought I was reading an “adventure,” only to realize midway I was in the thrills of the Irish Revolution. Enjoyed the book, liked the ending; it actually had my stomach in a knot.

I enjoyed this improbable adventure of a young woman who flees violence of one can to encounter other types around the world. Kitty maintains both her wide-eyed belief that change is possible and her fear that her own life is not worth changing. Pretty good read.

Interesting story and a quick read. Starts at well and keeps your interest although it's somewhat predictable. The romance at times seems unnecessary and distracts from the narrative. Entertaining and well-worth reading
I seldom give a book 5 stars.

Great fiction work based on historical facts. Just how far has the women’s movement actually gotten to? And how about the Russian history too? Makes one wonder about the era we are in now. Sounds familiar. Hmmmm Good read!

I truly enjoyed this book. I even Googled some names, events and vocabulary just to gain more knowledge. As a diehard James Patterson fan, it was refreshing to take a break from his books and read The Unkillable Kitty. I would highly recommended this book.

Any book that combines history and fiction is one that attracts me and this one was worthwhile. . Kept my interest for the entire book and at times was exciting. Very interesting historical references. A wonderful heroine with an admirable attitude.

I loved this book - it is my first Colin Falconer read but it will not be my last!!!!! Now that I am retired I can read to my heart’s content. Can not talk about the story - do not want to give anything away - just read it. You will not regret the time spent.

This story seemed so believable! The writing kept wanting me to see what was going to happen to Kitty next. I also enjoyed the references to actual historic events. It of course is a novel so it obviously was embellished but it was still very interesting in that respect. Very enjoyable book. I would like to read more by this author.

Engaging, imperfect but !likable and relatable characters.
An interesting set of disparate settings.
Human conflicts that are timeless , related to truth and meaning (or lack of it) of life.
Highly recommend this book.

This book started out well enough, I cared about the characters. I also really enjoy historical fiction, prefer more historical than fiction. I would not have finished this book except I wanted this supposed feminist woman to quit allowing men to use her. I do not believe the f-word was used so casually in the 1920s, that's more of a recent development. And then at the end I find that the characters are an amalgam of several people who didn't really do most of what's in the book. I will probably not read another book by this author.

The scenes set in Ireland are the most evocative. Everything else about this life is borrowed from other real lives. The author does a great job making you feel the cold, and the deprivation, and the tumult of the Bolshevik years. But you always know how it will end.

Enjoyable read, but a bit predictable; however, the ending did have a momentary surprise. The historical aspects were informative. The story's primary character (book written in her voice) got a bit repetitive....how undecided can one be and how ofter???

I loved this book! I loved Kittys spunk and determination. Kitty and Tom were always meant for each other but she always seemed to move on to something else. You won't believe how it ended. A must read!

This book has it all: history, politics, war, fiction, and romance! It was well written, with lots of detail and made me learn some things along the way. I love books with strong female characters, too. I will think about these characters for a long time to come.

Interesting premise. Surviving two legendary shipwrecks at critical times in history. Well developed female character. Love/convenience story. But somewhat stilted dialog and the female lead was really not that convincing. Not a page turner and not particularly memorable.

The book had almost entertaining set of vignettes about events of the tent century. It also explored many of the characters uncertainties regarding their lives. As such it left the reade also uncertain but uncertain.

Love this great adventure story. She sure had spunk! Although she tried to pull away from her family dysfunction it seemed to still influence many of her decisions. Some good, done bad. It takes a lot to trump your roots.

Great read. The drama is very real. You're looking forward wondering what is going to happen next. Kitty is one of the best. The author had me wondering what she would have to get out of next. Like to know if she is for just one book.

As one reads this story the feeling that there is enough to make a mini-series grows stronger with each chapter. Kitty represents what one might perceive as a cross-section of the girls and women of turn-of-the century female life. The story provides the reader with a great knowledge of the chaos of our world in these times.

This was an interesting read - to a point. Like many other writers who do extensive research for their books, this author felt obligated to not let that time go to waste. The historical details and descriptions so bogged me down that I skipped pages trying to find the storyline again. It might be because I am a retired history teacher, but I knew enough of the historical period that I did not need a series of lessons to follow Kitty life. I felt there was one fiction book and a series of magazine articles about events and people combined into this book

I enjoyed this book. Kitty is such a strong character with a strong story. So many events were so unfortunate and I loved to hate Lincoln and how he treated Kitty. I loved that her views changed as she matured. So many crazy things that she did, I was not supportive of but that was part of the draw and I couldn't stop reading.

Early 20th century history from a different point of view. Not an accurate depiction of events, but the atmosphere of the times.
Reminds one of the deplorable conduct of the English in Ireland.

Think the “unsinkable Molly Brown” meets the October Revolution, more disasters than you can shake a stick at, at least one too many shipwrecks, and more imteresting men thst ome woman deserves. The major strength of the book was the accounting of history provided and the all-too-real description of what it was like on the sinking Titanic. Thoroughly enjoyable.

The main character in this novel was underdeveloped and read a bit flat. Not enough time was spent developing her relationship with the childhood friend who was supposed to be her One True Love. Kitty's motives for making most of her choices are weak, which she seems to know, but the end result is a main character who doesn't really grow, and who is fundamentally at odds with what is supposed to be a key theme of the story. Kitty is a survivor, but not through any actions of her own.
