Once I started reading. I couldn't stop reading it. It's beautifully written and I love books with supernatural romance. I don't know why I do but I love them. I strongly recommend for those who are into supernatural romance.

Enjoyable paranormal romance. The animosity between the hero/heroine was a little too drawn out, but they finally came together . The adventure and action are nicely done. I've added the next book to my future reading list.

A very well written plot, makes extremally easy to get lost in it from the very first lines, none of that bull... that goes in circles and makes you confused, lots of explonations to the characters, great describtions of the hot scenes- and those are very hot indeed, once I started- I just couldn't put down and couldn't wait to buy another. It's got everything I was looking for and I would recommend it to anyone.

The heroine was not too tough and not too weak. I really enjoy a strong but sexy female character who can challenge the "big strong guy" type. I recommend ordering all three at one time, since they are very good quick reads. I regret ordering them single because I paid more in the end.

This was a great find! I couldnt put it down. Jack is sexy, hot, and everything you would want from a vampire. I loved the story line. I cant wait to read the next installment "Bound by the Vampire". I just wish it was longer... :)

This is a great book for anyone that wants a quick read and good story. Chloe Hart manages to tell a great story while putting in some steamy romantic scenes. Her vampires are sexy and rough, just what I want in a vampire.

I enjoyed this ebook short story. Liz was tough, hard-core and emotionally vunerable. Her dislike of vampires is understandable, and her need to fight the desire she feels for Jack is a normal reaction for anyone to have. Jack has a hard surface, but is really soft, and open to hurt deep down. I loved the chemistry between the two and Jack and Liz's ability to see past their differences and find love.

It was written in such a way that you couldn't always tell whose point of view you were following. It just seemed like a set up to get the two into bed, no real content. And the big fight scene was anticlimatic. Found the book boring.

I must agree with Nina! I love when the main characters start off antagonistic and end up ripping each others clothes off! This was such a fun read and Chloe is an excellent writer. Just wish that this was an excerpt and that the full novel was laying around somewhere to read! Chloe, more please.

This was a very short novella and I was very happy with the characters and their lives of protecting the people of their beloved city. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a great novella to read.

I won't do a summary since other reviewers have posted summaries. I felt this novella was a great read and I am anxious for the second book.I know some of the reviews felt this book was short, but this was a novella which is a short book. I enjoyed reading it and can't wait to read other books from this author.

This has got to be one of the most sexually vivid vampire books I have ever read. It had me begging for more. Very vivid characters and the plots never lost their focus. Very nicely done. Every book had an ending that left me wondering what was next. Very exciting.

After reading this book I couldn't tell you anything about the creature both the girl and the vampire were supposed to be fighting. The scene were the girl fights the creature was seemed like an after thought. Three chapters of how to have sex with a vampire seemed over kill. For me one star was being generous.

I am not one to bash someone elses work, especially when it comes to books, but the point of view in this book is all over the place. I had a very hard time following who's train of thought I was in at that moment. Whiplash! I love the idea of this book, a loathe/love paranormal novella, but with how short it was, I was expecting more, and it fell very short. I love following series, but sadly, this will not be one that I will follow to the next book. It could have been so much more!

Taming the Vampire was a short story, that left little thought into the plot. I'm a huge paranormal romance fan. So to have been so disappointed in this book was not good. This is a short story, written well but so predictable not really intriguing the reader. There is a love to hate relationship that we all knew were the relationship was going, I don't like you but I have this secret guess what I really do like you. I could have used more of everything, more depth, more character, more plot. So in the basic review of this book that's just it, very basic. This book received such great reviews on the store I wonder what people were thinking. I mean if you are just in the book to read it for the sexy. Then by all means take the FREE download and read it. I want a book to have more than just that. So overall I'm glad it was FREE.

BRIEF SUMMARY
Liz is a part of the Green Fae Clan and is a demon hunter. Jack is a vampire and one of the few Liz is not permitted to kill, as he is an allied to Liz's clan. Both Liz and Jack dislike each other since they've met. With an evil killer loose in Boston, both Liz and Jack needs to come together to kill the threat.

THOUGHTS (might contain spoilers for some)

This might be a novella, but it packed a good read for the length of the book. Even though Liz and Jack seem to dislike each other, it brought out good chemistry that readers will love. Jack's verbal witty attacks towards Liz were cute. Only Liz and Jack can say I hate you so many times and make it sound so sexy. Needing to battle the threat, Liz and Jack needs to perform a ritual to become stronger. What the ritual entails gets an A+ from me. Once their moment came to initiate the ritual I had different stages of enjoyment. First, an awkward moment, then an entertaining moment, and lastly, a very hot sexy moment. The action towards the end was pleasing and I enjoyed Liz's best friend, Celia; hope we read about her in book 2.

I have no dislikes other than I wanted more of his vampire tendencies to be used a bit earlier on in the beginning.

***Update: I enjoyed book 2 in the series 'Bound to the Vampire'.

Storyline: GOOD
Intimacy: GOOD
Enjoyment: GOOD

Liz Marlowe is a warrior a member of the Green Fae Clan. She is a demon hunter, while on patrol she meets her nemesis Jack Morgan six foot six of drop dead gorgeous vampire with the bluest eyes ever. Liz and Jack do not get along never have, Jack does not not think that Liz is strong enough to fight demons, being only one-sixteenth Fae the rest human. Jack is one of a few vampires who are allied with the Elven Clans, he also likes to rile Liz he finds it amusing, full blooded Fae warriors are cold without emotion but Liz is part human. After her little run in with Jack, she goes to see her best friend and sidekick Celia, Liz has been taking Absinthe which increases strength and speed, but you are only supposed to drink it on the night of the solstice, it can be dangerous otherwise. Liz knows there is a new danger lurking in the city three dead bodies have already been found, something powerful never encountered before is out there. Celia is a spell caster she has been looking for ways to increase Liz's strength, now she has found it. There is a ritual which centres on having sex with a vampire, after that their strengths are combined in Liz for one night only, but Liz would be invincible. There's only one problem finding a vampire to have sex with, Celia has the perfect candidate for Liz, Jack Morgan.
What a fabulous story this is the writing is descriptive and you find it easy to visualise the settings and the characters, the reader is drawn into the story, which is well paced and flows perfectly. The characters have real depth. The sex is really hot. A brilliant read as this is book one in the series I can't wait to read the next instalment.

Taming the Vampire is a wonderful read.

Liz is every bit the warrior she was bred to be while Jack is the perfect seductive vampire. Both on the hunt for a mysterious creature that has been leaving a trail of bodies in it's wake. Working together is not something either of the main characters want. For starters, Liz hates Jack and when her friend discovers a way to increase Liz's power, more than doubling her strength and giving her the tools she needs to defeat whatever it is that is lurking and killing in the shadows of Boston, she is repulsed. But after facing the demon on her own, and taking beating, Liz admits, she needs the help and goes Jack with an interesting proposal. If they have sex, she can absorb his power and become strong enough to kill the demon.

For a short paranormal romance, this book has spice and striking characters. As expected for this type of book, the pace was quick and never dull. However, as I was reading I felt as if this was a second book rather than a first in the series. The world building was a little weak, not much background was given of the hunters or the vampires and there wasn't much of an explanation given for what Absinthe really even is. Though, lack of world building has actually made me want to know more and I have already acquired book two, Bound by the Vampire. If you like paranormal romance and don't have the time to delve into a full length novel, I would recommend this series.

I am liking this series :)

So Liz is a slayer! She is a 1/16th Fae but she is mostly human. She works for the Green Fae to take care of the things that go bump in the night. Well the Green Fae has and truce with Vampires that have proved themselves and work together with the Green Fae to protect humans. Jack is one of those vampires.

Jack actually helps train the Green Fae be the best fighters that they can be. Jack and Liz despise each other! I mean they call each other every name in the book and they fight constantly.

So there is a new monster loose on the streets....the child of a Kracken!!
Liz's friend, Celia, tells her about a spell where Liz can absorb the powers of a vampire for one night in order to kill the Kracken.

No biggie, except the ritual calls for the "seed" of a vampire and the only vampire that Liz would consider having sex with is Jack but it repulses her to no end.

So can she get over the disgust, will it really be disgusting?? Do they fall in love??

Really good short read!!

Ms Hart wrote a very good short story & I thought the dialogue & story flows very nicely. Some short story leaves holes big enough for a truck to drive through. If you're into paranormal romance who doesn't mind a kick ass heroine & alpha hero try this freebie. I enjoyed the tense interaction with H/H & cracked up laughing at times with their dialogue towards one another. I have bought book 2 & 3 which I hope would give me enough entertainment throughout the weekend.

The book was short so the series of events took place rapidly. However, despite that, the author managed to still paint a clear decisive picture of the two main characters. With its added spice to offer her readers a little edge, Chloe Hart left me wanting more.

Hey wonderful complete plot for such a short story. You can feel the sexual tension from the start and when it finally combusts it makes the perfect erotic little scene. And the end is better than I could have imagined!

I was hesitant to read this book since I never heard of Chloe Hart before and I am picky on these kinds of stories. After reading the book I am glad I did. There was one scene that almost made me give up but I kept reading and discovered I would have missed out on a great story. Edgy characters that are fun to watch as they grow. Love this book and the style of writng is great. Hope this series continues for a long time.

Taming the Vampire was a great quick read. The story was entertaining and easy to follow. I enjoyed seeing the emotional tug of war along with the action of fighting evil. I enjoyed it so much that I bought the other novellas/novels in the series.

Taming the Vampire was an OK read. I was interested by the product description and downloaded the book to pass the time. I finished this in about an hour and found it quite boring. I enjoyed Liz and Jack's witty dialogues, but that was about it. There was no sexual tension, the plot was boring, and the action was dull. The story needed more fleshing out. Also, the story ended abruptly and there was little romance involved. Overall, a decent read, but not one I would read again.

I enjoy these books. The characters are quirky, loveable, and the stories are well written. I can't help but feel like I have found an old friend each time I read one of Chloe's books. While waiting I have to read The Final Showdown, so excited!!

After reading Vampiric, I wanted another book of the same genre. After looking around, I came across Taming The Vampire and have to say I am happy with this discovery. While a bit shorter then Vampiric, this was still a very good book. Considering it's free, I recommend anyone to go ahead and give it a read.

A very fun and sexy read with smart, witty dialogue and likable characters. I was pulled right into the story. The hero is hot, the sex is seriously smokin'. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

The characters we good. The story did not lag. It stayed interesting. There was enough explanation to fill in background but not so much that it bogged down and became boring. Can't wait to read the other ones

The book did not tell about her fight with the krakan i  would have been better if it would have explained the fight. Other then the lack of info in most parts of the book, the book was a good quick read and woul recommend this book to people who like short romance/action books.

I really enjoyed reading this novella. Its was a nice surprise, most free stuff is either a large let down or just barely meets expectation. This, however, exeeded expectation :D. Sadly though, it was short (like all novellas) and i would LOVE if she would write a novel that was based on these charicters and concepts.

~Happy Reading :)

The book was a nice distraction for a couple of hours. It reminds me of Hot Vampire Kiss (Vampire Wardens 1)or The Phantom King (The Kings). Thank you for letting us have it for free.
