impressed with this book. Not too much information,, very straightforward. I read it to my 5 year old and 8 year old boys. I think I should have started earlier with the 8 year old. I would recommend the "Its so amazing " book for 8 year old + ages,, and also would recommend "You mean its not the stork?" book for 5+ year olds. Both are informative and can be read in pieces to what you see fit.

I absolutely love this book! Out of all the books i ordered to answer the dreaded question,"where do babies come from?" This book allowed me to actually get to the root of my 5 year old daughters questions about babies. She simply wanted to know how our bodies produce babies. I didn't have to delve into the sexual aspect of it yet. I'm giving her information in small and understandable doses. Eventually, I will give her info about "the act". But this book allows you to go at your own pace. Finally, a book that's allows me to be straight forward without being embarrassed while reading it.

This is a great book for children learning about their bodies. I feel like it maybe more suitable for 6or 7 years olds. My son is about to be 5 and loves his "special book" but I feel as if it may have been too much too soon. However, it helped me explain questions that he had in a way he'd understand. It's a great book!

Appropriate for preschool up to about age 8, especially if this is their first book about the topic.
It covers basic anatomy with appropriate drawings of the parts you can see and what's inside the body. It explains eggs and sperm and says that when a man and a woman love each other and want to make a baby the sperm joins with the egg and a baby grows. It doesn't explain any further how the two get together.
A couple of things to be aware of: 1. it only depicts a circumcised penis and I'd prefer it educated about both; 2. The back cover is geared toward parents and says things like "aren't ready to learn about sexual intercourse." So, if your child can read be aware of that.
All in all I think this is a good first introduction to the topic for young kids. It provides honest information without being too graphic.

When my six year old boy became more curious about his body I came to the store to search for an appropriate book. I truly did not know it would be such a difficult task. After reading the reviews for a number of books I was very surprised (disgusted was more like it), especially when I learned of the books that promoted group masturbation as "ok" and "experimental". Finally I came upon this book. It was perfect for my boy. In fact, my seven year old girl and three year old son too enjoyed the book. They giggled at some of the pictures which made the book fun as well as educational. There are only two pages that were a bit too advanced for my children (the gargantuan penis complete with sperm and the oversized uterus). I gracefully skipped those two pages, they were just beginning to understand the maturing of the body and that was a bit much. However I will insert that back in, no pun intended, when I read it in the future. Lastly, I have spotted the book in all three of my childrens rooms. They went back on their own and have had a chance to read at their own pace. I recommend this book to conservative parents with young children.

This book is a great book that definitely explains to kids the changes that will take place their bodies. The illustrations leave nothing to the imagination so if you are offended by nudity or are not yet ready to expose your child(ren) to nudity than this book is not for you.

My daughter was engrossed in this book and asked a lot of questions. We happened to buy it when she was naturally asking questions and exploring, so it was perfect timing. Well done! Kept everything simple

Great book - introduces that no matter how old a person is, what's yours IS YOURS and you have a right to protect it. While I didn't notice an age-range on the book, my child is 4 and I put this book ina drawer until he is just a bit older.

This book is very well written for such sensitive information. However, I didn't realize it was going to show adult Men and Women naked and discuss masturbation which was a bit advanced for what we needed to address. I felt it was appropriate to skip these parts for later because it was a bit too soon for my little ones comprehension. For those whose kids are already going through some of the more advanced changes its a good read. Our child is 3 and was simply asking about the differences between boys and girls. We didn't feel it was necessary for her to see a grown man's penis. Although it t did prompt the "personal space and wrong kind of touching" conversation. So I have it 4 stars.

This book gave just enough details for my almost 6 year old. She had so many questions and I wasn't quite sure how to answer them. This book gave cartoon illustrations which made it easy for her to understand.

My daughter loves this book, seems to address the main points and my 4 year likes it aside from the page with the screaming baby...don't think the book did anything wrong, my little guy is just sensitive I guess.

First purchased this book for my daughter (age 3) as an introduction to understanding the physical differences between boys and girls. The photos and language are tasteful and age appropriate, putting a parent at ease. It has since remained as a great go to book/reference as she has continued to grow (now age 9) and her questions on sexuality have matured. We have bought the sequel as well.
