The Shadow of Your Smile

This book has an interesting storyline and I enjoyed it. I have read almost all of her books and have never been disappointed. This is a good mystery that will keep you turning the pages into late at night.

This author has an amazing way of analyzing family members' diverse reactions to one crisis situation. She has deep insight into the emotional and spiritual struggles facing each family member. Their journeys through tragedy lead them to healing and hope. This is a must-read, but keep tissues handy.

Easy read, interesting; could stimulate discussion which would make for some discussion at book clubs but is easily forgettable. Seems that Ms. Higgins Clark is stuck in the same rut as the rest of us - eventually it gets a little old - she needs to expand her repertoire. I must say that I do appreciate the PG nature of her novels - I can always feel safe in sharing her novel with my mother and aunts.

This book deals with some very emotional issues - murder, the loss of a child, a broken marriage, and amnesia. The storyline drew me in early on, but I found myself skimming over some of the sub-plots ... they just didn't hold my interest.

Susan May Warren is a favorite of mine and I've thoroughly enjoyed her books, but this wasn't one of my favorites.
