This award winning book is one of the most requested for me to read on Skype to my 4 year old granddaughter. She loves the language and the imagery it evokes. She has even memorized whole passages and "reads" them aloud when we reach the page.
Truly a must read for 5 and older!

This story is an amazing story about a trip taken into the woods to find owls. A child and his father explore the forest. It is a great mentor text to use when teaching narratives. My students really enjoy it!

Maybe I missed it, but I thought I was purchasing a new copy and it arrived used. I don't know if there is a way to check after the fact. This book however, is highly recommendable--a wonderful story, perfect for winding down and gathering up peacefulness.

The way that the author describes all what is happening on that special night, for the little girl, really puts the picture in your head. It is almost like you are walking with them that very night hearing, seeing and doing everything they do right along with them.
The realistic pictures help bring the story to life, they make it seem as if you are there!
