While Damien is romping through the Stars on Hand business, his old Captain is still soldiering on. This is a great continuation of the crew's adventures after Damien takes his leave. I've enjoyed every book I've read, and can't wait to read more.

Another great chapter in this incredible saga. Love the characters and love the story. I also love the world that Stewart has created. Magic and technology seamlessly melded together with classic space opera and intrigue. It's enough to make the scifi geek in me giddy. Definitely worth the read.

I stumbled across starships mage a few months ago and when it ended i felt lost but I was ecstatic to learn of blue jays team making a comeback to fill in some blanks..and Hand Stealey? can't wait for more in the Red Falcon series.

Space opera genre novels date back to Doc Smith or before. This one crosses over into trader-to-the-stars drawing from Poul Anderson’s Polesotechnic League novels. The series is off to a good start with plenty of hooks for future plot devices. I’m looking forward to a long series!

I received an electronic pre-publication copy in exchange for a review. Glynn Stewart has rapidly become one of my favorite authors. Really enjoyable characters, great plots, believable and engaging dialogue. Incredible action. A very enjoyable story set in the Mages of Mars universe. If you've ever wanted to know what happened to the other characters from the first book, you find out here, and it's a storyline you'll want to read!

I will read anything written by Glynn Stewart. He can weave a tale that makes me want to finish the book in a single sitting. In this episode, he writes a story about another story happening in the same universe where magic and science work together.

I received a free electronic advanced reader's copy in exchange for your unbiased review. The author continue to impress me and the plot is very impressive. Mixing science and 'magic' is certainly a winning combination for success. Again a great read.

Firstly! I received a pre release copy free of this start to a series ( I hope it is a series), was most impressed with the underlying plots and had to read straight through. A second reading was worth it, apart from the very few typos/spelling errors, which I am sure any proof reader will correct, immersersed me further into the plots. Can hardly wait for the continuation to the series.

This spin off novel is very well written; plot, dialogue, action, and pacing are all spot on. Though it takes place right after book 1 it does explore the background of plots from book 5, no real spoilers but keep it in mind all the same.

Another incredible book by Glynn Stewart, this one follow Captain Rice one year after the loss of the Blue Jay. Intrigues, assassins, Space battles, everything is there! Once again I can’t wait for the next book!

Another excellent story from the mind of Glynn Stewart! While I did receive an advanced copy for my honest review, I can wholeheartedly recommend this newest offering without reservation! Taking off from his other excellent Mage series, this smoothly dovetails from that to begin an entirely new series of adventure that are sure to hold the reader captive from start to finish!

I got an early copy in return for honest feedback.

I was really excited to find out the next chapter in the saga, however, it's more appropriate to call this book a side chapter.

The book itself was a good read - Glynn always does a good job. Had good pace, story was interesting and had twists, but I felt it lacked the punch of earlier books in the series so only rated it 4 stars. Would have been good to have a cameo appearance from someone somewhere rather than a secret communication here and there.

That said, it's still better than a lot of other books.

Another good story in the starship mage universe. Well written, likeable characters, lots of action. Not quite as memorable as the original starship mage but that's a high bar. Will definitely read the next book.

Excellent beer and peanuts book. Mr. Stewart's universe is obviously well thought out and constructed. His books, while not up to par with other universes such as Wheel of Time or Malazan(how many are though really), are very enjoyable reads
