When a wedding planner and a divorce lawyer are put into forced proximity when the lawyer becomes the best man for his brother's upcoming wedding, the heat is on!

For those who have loved Meader's sexy Chicago romances, including hockey players and firemen, this will not be a disappointment. That said, this was decidedly sweeter? Still super sexy, but overall just a really lovely little romance without quite as much of the angst. It was nice to see an alpha male who loved to dress well, likes to cook his Hello Fresh subscription, and his willing to let you cuddle on his rooftop deck while watching classic films.

This is a truly fantastic read. Filled with heat, heart and humor, this fun romance will sweep you off your feet. The chemistry and banter between Max and Charlie is sizzling and sharp. This opposites attract story offers a cute plot and lovable characters. Both of these characters had been hurt before and both dealt with the scars very differently. I loved the sparks that these two created together and the sweet emotions that they brought out in each other. This is an amazing book that is poignant and passionate. I adored it and am already impatiently waiting for book two. I'm voluntary posting an honest review.

I looked forward to this new series by Kate Meader and was not disappointed. I enjoyed her Hot in Chicago and Chicago Rebels books for their well written characters and loving while realistic and complicated relationships. I especially like the way she develops the family and other social dynamics in her stories, not just the primary one between her two main characters. The new series starts out with an improbable pairing between divorce lawyer Max and wedding planner Charlie who meets Max when she is hired to plan his brother's wedding. The heat between them is instant and so is the distrust. Add in a love of old movies, the Cubs' manual scoreboard and a cathartic place called the Punch Palace and you get another great read from Kate set in my home town of Chicago.
The Nearness of You (Love Everlasting) (The Thorntons Book 1) :: Darkness Awakened, Volume 1 :: Taste of Darkness (a werewolf-dragon shifter romance) (Darkness Series Book 2) :: Unexpected Hero (Skyline Trilogy Book 1) :: All We Had: A Novel

Down with Love is the first book in Kate Meader’s Love Wars series and I thoroughly enjoyed it! A Wedding Planner and a Divorce Lawyer…sparks fly with these two! So much chemistry, fun banter, great humor and of course the sexy times too! I loved Charlie and Max together. I definitely recommend this one and I’m so looking forward to the future books in the series! If you love the opposites attract / enemies-to-lovers tropes, this one is for you!

What happens when the divorce lawyer who is against married runs into the wedding planner? Lots of tension, one upping and laughs.
When his brother decides to get married without a pre-nup Max is doing his best to support him. He deals with divorce everyday and knows how this can affect him, however his brother doesn't care. Max just keeps getting pushed into the planning and up close with Charlie.
This book had me cracking up just the way Charlie and Max went back and forth was priceless.

Down with Love is a sweet story about how Charlie Love a Wedding Planner looking for love and Max Henderson a cynic Divorce Attorney who doesn’t believe in marriage; prove that opposites can fall in love. This story will just show that communication is always the best thing for any relationship.

This was my first book by Kate Meader; I found this book entertaining and enjoyable with every page. I love some good bantering between couples and Max and Charlie didn’t disappoint. Plus their sexy time together was steamy.

Looking forward to reading more books in this series!

Loved, loved this romcom!! Opposites that find their HEA with a few bumps in the way. Max Henderson, divorce attorney meets Charlie the wedding planner of his brother's wedding. There is a sexual chemistry that they can not deny.

This is a fun romcom that is told in the first person POV with plenty of witty banter between the two that will have you laughing out loud. Their sexual chemistry is hot. Plus, how could I resist true Cub fans!! I highly recommend this book. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

"Down with Love" by Kate Meader
I loved this story. I want to make it required reading for anyone contemplating marriage.. or divorce, too, maybe.. There is a lot of really good food for thought between the covers of this story. And, be sure to read ALL the quotes that begin each chapter... What a great contemporary romance novel. I was gifted a copy of this story via NetGalley . I so enjoyed this story... I couldn't put it down... maybe I will start re-reading it in just another couple of days!

The cynic and the optimist have declared war. Let the temptation begin. Charlie and Max are fighting a losing game. Whether fairy-tale fantasy trumps real life drama. Love is at stake and it's anybody's game. What happens when your enemy becomes your heart's desire? Kate Meader never loses her humorous side. Down with Love begins as a flight of fancy but transforms into a dance of love. A broken heart in need of a fresh perspective finds it's home in this fantastic fight to the finish.

I had a difficult time getting through this book. I usually enjoy Kate Meader's books but this one just didn't click for me. The relationship between Charlie (the wedding planner heroine) and Max (the divorce lawyer hero) came across as contrived and not natural. There were also too many other sub plots that I felt overpowered the main story. This is not one that I would recommend. I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This story is about a commitment-phobia divorce attorney and a optimistic wedding planner. Max comes across a little too acerbic for having only one failed engagement. Charlie attacks life full of gusto but just couldn’t figure out what she really wants. The storyline was ho-hum, with nothing new to propel me to read other books by the author. Failed to see as much rom-com as I like. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Kate Meader new series Law of Attraction starts out well with Down with Love. A cute story about wedding planner Charlie Love and divorce attorney Max Henderson. These two very different people fought the immediate attraction that sparked when they first met. I enjoyed watching as the author used humor as they learned more about each other and themselves as they moved to their HEA.
I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley.

I loved this book. It was fun, flirty, romantic, sexy, & I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed all of the characters but of course my favorite ones were the lead characters, Max & Charlie. He's a jaded divorce attorney & she's a wedding planner. Opposites may or may not attract as this book goes on. I highly recommend reading this book if you love a good rom-com!

Max and Charlie might not like each other but the attraction that they feel towards each other is off the charts. Max might not believe in love especially after having his heart broken in the past but I am glad that at the end he was able to get over it and have his HEA with Charlie. Down with Love was a fun read!

I loved the chemistry between Max and Charlie! The dynamic between them made for a interesting plot - will they? won't they? can they make it work? It was great to see the the background of these characters be slowly revealed their motivations. It was steamy and drama in all the right places! I love stories that get me into the characters and it definitely got me invested in them. HEA!

This is definitely a romantic comedy. The banter between the characters makes the story flow easily and Charlie and Max have more than just sexual chemistry that drive their attraction and the story. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of heat, but there is so much more to this story beyond that. I recommend this for anyone looking for a fun weekend read.

Charlie and Max have the same ideals...no relationships even if she is in the business of making the dreams of wedding bells go off without a hitch for brides. When the 2 have an unforgettable night together, Max is shaken to his core, maybe she is what he needs. But Charlie the ol' so stubborn Charlie gives Max a run for his money. LOL Great story!

I really enjoyed these characters and their development throughout the story. I loved how Max and Charlie went from having great antagonistic banter to allowing themselves to become vulnerable with each other. I always enjoy reading a novel where the female protagonist is capable of being witty and in control of her strong attraction to her love interest, and I'm happy that I've seen this in the other 2 novels I've read from Kate Meader. I also liked the other characters in the story as well. Max's friends were interesting enough that I look forward to reading about them in the future, and I found myself rooting for sweet Gina and James.

This love story was good. It’s started really good but it kind of slowed down a little. I think if the story was a little shorter it would of been better.
What happens when you think you can’t find love again. Max is everything you don’t want.
Charlie is in love with the idea of finding love. When both worlds come together it’s a reality check for both of them. They learn that sometimes love takes time and it’s okay to not be okay all the time.

How can someone annoy another person so much but feel attracted to them at the same time? That is how Max and Charlie feel towards one another. They are so different in many ways but have a lot of things in common. Standing on opposite sides of the momentous occasion that can occur in one’s life they find the love they were missing with each other. Absolutely brilliant and it will definitely make you laugh.

A wonderful story about two people overcoming their fears to try love.
Max was about to say I Do when he found out his fiancé was only after his money. Charlie found out her boyfriend was not interested in being with an orphan with a troubled past.
When Max and Charlie meet, the sparks soon turn to fire. With their troubled pasts, what could go wrong?
You’ll enjoy finding out. 5 stars!!

I loved this book! Max and Charlie were great characters and had amazing chemistry! It was an unique storyline (wedding planning vs divorce laywer/brother of the groom), which I found very enjoyable. Both characters had reasons for why they acted or thought the way they did about relationships and marriage, and when they started breaking down each other's walls, it was truly heartfelt. Loved this book!

Max and Charlie are finding that opposites attracting isn’t just a saying but a fate in their case. Charlie is a purveyor of magic, fairytale, and fantasy. Her business is to make your special day the most perfect day ever and she prides herself on doing the best job. She also wants to practice what she preaches and is actively trying to find Mr Right among all the Mr Wrongs. Max has seen just what becomes of a once good meaning marriage when things go inevitable wrong. He has mediated so many ugly divorces that he has no desire to enter into that three ring circus. When his little bro tells him he had willingly decided to enter into this blessed state. When Max meets his brother’s wedding planner he is snide, rude, and unbelievably turned on. When Max and Charlie give in to their insane chemistry they quickly flip flop position. Fling or forever, Lust or Love, Now or Never!

Kate Meader writes the best banter I’ve come across!! Max and Charlie’s snarky quips had me cracking up so much, I woke my husband up, lol!

I loved Max and his dislike of change, along with Charlie and her hot and cold personality. The sexy tension between the two was obvious, but it was Max’s romantic tendencies that melted my heart and had me smiling, especially when he was frustrated by his lack of progress! And I loved the parent units. They were the best. Two sides of the same coin, showing the work that marriage takes during the ups and downs.

My happy hands can’t wait to grab the next book with Max’s partner, Lucas, to see what kind of mischief he gets himself into.

This was a wonderful storyline with exceptional characters and great dialogue. I enjoyed this story from the very first page and the pace of this story couldn't have been better. The author did an amazing job of developing the characters and their romance and I enjoyed the secondary characters almost as much as the main ones.
Definitely a five-star book and an author I enjoy reading for contemporary romance.
