This book along with Something In the Way broke me, rebuilt me, and changed me. It's so rare to come across a book where I feel an author truly poured themselves into text form. Although this book is fiction, there is so much heart, insight, life, love, pain...and it all felt so real!! Also, I don't reread books, but I know I will be rereading these. I don't do spoilers. Heck, I rarely leave reviews, but this book deserved recognition. Thank you Jessica Hawkins for your heart and putting it into written word!

My poor heart is in tatters. I'm already chomping at the bit for the final book (which I already preordered). This is a heart-wrenching story of forbidden love (nothing creepy, chill). I'm a big fan of Jessica's, and this book just did me in. Go. Buy. (Start with Something in the Way though.) Fall in love with Lake and Manning.

There aren't enough words in the English language to express how much I loved this book. I think I get every feeling possible while reading Lake and Manning (and Tiffany's) story. I knew the story would be amazing but I don't know that I expected just how amazing it was going to be. I can't wait to see what happens next for Lake and Manning.

Enjoyed the first book, gave it four stars. By the end of this one, I was thinking "is Lake THAT stupid?" The answer is YES, she is! I pushed myself on, thinking she might come to her senses and realize she loved Corbin. But, no. She continued on that horrible path with the despicable Manning. I wish I had stopped after the first book! Instead, I read three...two too many.

Holy moly! This was an incredible read! I am still processing my feelings after devouring this book. I think that I experienced every emotion possible. Some were definitely more pleasant than others. This is book 2 of 3 in the Something in the Way series and is not a standalone.

I apologize in advance for this vague review. I just want every reader to be able to ride this emotional roller coaster and experience it in their own way. The journey that Jessica Hawkins takes readers on is not an easy one. We learned that in book 1. This continues in Somebody Else's Sky, but we also see many of the characters grow and mature as well. Characters we may not have liked much before have moments that challenge those feelings and possibly even allow us to see them in a more positive light. I'll be honest, the push and pull angst is really high. Even though I tried to prepare myself before diving into this, my heart was no match for this beautifully gut wrenching story.

Readers may not agree with the decisions and choices that our characters make (I certainly didn't!), but I can empathize and understand that most are ultimately made with the best of intentions no matter the physical and emotional cost. The best books and stories to me are the ones that make you question and rethink your beliefs. Jessica Hawkins has accomplished this in spades. Things are so many shades of grey in this series, that I can only sit back and trust that she's going to take us on one hell of a journey whatever the outcome. It is October yet?

Lake & Manning 's story continues. Oh how the feelings are growing. Lake is still trying to price she's maturing. Manning his wants to keep her pure & innocent. Tiffany falls for Manning. Talk about a love sick triangle?
If you want to read a book (series) that makes "feel" then this is a MUST!!! I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!
I can't wait to start Move The Stars!

Most intense, heart-wrenching book I've ever read! I am counting the days until the final book comes out. After reading the first in the series, I was waiting and longing for the second book so I tried to read all JH other books. NOTHING even touches the angst from this series. **** Spoiler possibility**** the confrontation on the beach was so real, I felt it deeply. Can't wait for book 3. I hope Ms. Hawkins continues down this path.

I started this book with high hopes that things would work out with the characters and I ended up hating 2 of the characters. I cried and I felt like I had been betrayed. I am now reading the 3rd book and I hope I come to love at least one of the characters again. This series is superb and definitely worth the read.

WOW! My heart bleeds for Manning and Lake. This book tore me to pieces. I can't wait for book 3 to put me back together. While I understand the choices Manning made I am still so very mad at him. I absolutely love this story. I can't wait for Karma to catch up to Tiffany.

Another great book. This continued story about Manning, Tiffany and Lake is just so heartbreaking. I'm not going to get into too many details and ruin the book for anyone, but this is one epic love story. That ending....gahhhhh! So glad I waited to read this series after the 3rd book came out, so, off to jump into book#3!!

Definitely waking for the next book. This royalty did not go the way I expected. I would love to know what's going on in the sister's mind. I was thinking she would back off but clearly we need to get in her head to see why she is so determined to hurt her little sister.

I just finished Some Else's Sky by Jessica Hawkins. This book. This series. This is why I read. Books like this are my Kindle Crack.

Jessica Hawkins, you ruined me for other books. I think I'm going to be suffering from an emotional book hangover for a long time. I feel like my heart is shattered into a million pieces. The last time I felt like this was after reading Slammed and Hopeless by Colleen Hoover and More Than This by Jay McLean. I know I'll get over this feeling. But I really won't. I'll patiently wait to read the next book. In reality, I'm lying to myself. I'll be COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS when Move the Stars releases on 10/23. Can I give this series six stars?

Unbelievable! You know that feeling you get when you have been waiting desperately for a book and once you get you hands on it you hang on to every word you read....you are so excited that your heart beats like crazy, desperate to devour and know how it all ends....its one of those books! Jessica doesn't disappoint at all, I felt every little feeling and the dual point of view was perfection! I just can't put into words how much this book blew my mind, now the agony begins all again to know the final end...the cliffhanger is pure torture.

REELING, doesn’t quite cover it. I have been anxiously awaiting the release of SES, the minute it landed on my kindle (12:07 a.m.) I dove in and could not stop until I finished.
Oh my, what a ride. I am functioning on a few hours’ sleep and I will say that it was well worth my now zombie like state.
The story picks up with Manning serving out his sentence, struggling with the consequences of his fateful decision. He is in survival mode, weighing heavily on him, are thoughts of Lake. Thoughts he attempts to push out of his mind (futilely) His balm, much to my dismay is the selfish self-serving older sister of Lake, Tiffany. She has set her sights on Manning, playing the role of dutiful girlfriend. I much as I hate to admit, it – she is good to him while he in incarcerated she takes care of a lot of loose ends and serves as his conduit to the outside world. He allows himself this small mercy because he knows he cannot have the one who truly owns his soul.
LAKE, I love her more now – this girl/woman - Jessica created an amazing character. She is the light in Manning’s darkness – her innate goodness and capacity to love is boundless. This girl LOVES Manning with every fiber of her being – I felt it. She is desperate for a word from Manning, her letters unanswered – her only connection to him is through her EVIL sister – she tries in vain not to ask too much, for fear of being discovered. Tiffany senses the connection between these two – and at every opportunity, drives daggers through both their hearts. Lake is counting down the days until her 18th birthday – in her mind, this is the obstacle impeding her and Manning from being together. She will wait patiently in the wings for the man she loves. We watch how she slowly transforms to radiant young woman, trying to please her father with his dream of her attending USC, trying to navigate new relationships (Corbin)
Things get complicated once Manning is released and confronted with reality. The reality that Lake is no longer a girl but a ravishing young woman, that his heart beats wildly and longs only for her despite sharing a home and a bed with her sister. The plot thickens, decisions are made, hearts are broken – and we are left in the wake of this soul crushing end.
I don’t know that I have done the story justice – if you a lover of angst, believer of soul mates – THEN you must read these books.
I am counting the days until October. #TeamLake

This installment ripped me to shreds. Sobbing, ugly crying, snotty shreds. I can't begin to explain the emotional hurricane you will go through while reading it. It was so well done, I felt everything like it was part of my own journey.

Sometimes Love wins, sometimes not! It does matter between two Sisters who Love the same ?.Manning lives up to the Good Man image although much in his Life has gone Haywire. I gave This a Four ? rating.I challenge you to see what I saw?

Will they? Won’t they? It’s so intense. Lake and Manning are one of the most painful sets of star-crossed lovers I have ever met. A somewhat cliffhanger ending that has me diving for book three.
