This is an excellent follow-up to the first. Action packed. I could have done with out the political parts of the story. But it was a needed addition to the plot. Can't wait for next one. Keep them coming.

Once again, really good job, Mr. Harris! I particularly appreciate the detail, subtle humor and other suitable adjectives for your development of the story line. So far, these reads have been thoroughly entertaining. Keep them coming

Great start to a space drama that has decent plot legs and technical underpinnings. Wish this was expanded from the shorter novel it is, but has the potential to be a not to be put down series line the Slaver Series from Raymond Weil

Somewhat of a disappointment after the first book, this second book relies upon a considerable amount of conversation, some intrigue, and a little action. Much is said about ship befitting and the eventual primary opponent shows its true colors, but there is little real movement within the story.
The ending was also disappointing, ending just before a major confrontation which should have been included within this book. Hopefully future books will improve.

The stories in this series are very well written and true to the space opera style and hard SF format. My main complaint is that each book is more like an installment in one long story. Each of the two books in this series just ends with "... to be continued" and there is no local subplot that gets resolved. I think that when you purchase a book, it ought to bring the story to a satisfactory conclusion, even if it is part of a longer series or saga. It seems like what you have purchased is just a teaser to make you purchase the next book in an attempt to find out how the plot resolves.

Theseus is exceedingly well-written, making it a very quick and easy read. The storyline continued from Ingenuity is somewhat engaging.

The downside is that this series has fallen into a pattern that seems to be becoming common in modern series; this is not a book. This is a portion of a book. SPOILER ALERT... The only significant plot points are that the Guardian's appearance has thrown earth and the TFC council into turmoil, and after some ship-swapping, predictable politics, and reconnaissance, Theseus very briefly engages an enemy task force. That's all that happens! As much as I like Harris' style of prose and see potential in the storyline, I won't be continuing to spend money to read what is essentially a few long book chapters.

Arrrgh, I hate the ending but the book was excellent. He had me up until the very last sentence! It is a cliff hanger and I want to know what happens next. This is a great story and a lot of fun to read. The characters are great and the science is very good.

The writing is AWESOME and has so much potential. Unfortunately, the story doesn't... it's a tiny short book that plods along at a ponderous pace.
I mean, for God's sake, how do you build up to an engagement in book 1 and not even bother finishing it in book 2?

The author needs to either move the story along quicker, or combine multiple 'books'. Given the tiny amount the author advances the story in book 2, I'd suggest it should have been a few chapters rather than a book unto itself.

Very entertaining and great continuation of the story. The writing style is easy to read with no heavy handedness to the story. There are some comparisons you can make to the present. Looking forward to # 3.

Good story line. Some of the paragraphs were too long (this my pet peeve with writers that causes me to knock off 1 star.). I am looking forward to the next book in the series and I have already pre-ordered it.

Finish the story! Too much descriptions of irrelevant material. This book could be much shorter but better would be to have the story come to a logical conclusion. Harris is a good story teller when he's not just filling pages and has a good premise here. This may be a series that you can skip every other book and still know what's going on and pay what the story is worth.
