Poems from the Typewriter Series - Chasers of the Light

The photography and the aesthetic of this book are beautiful. It might be worth having just for the sake of having something so pretty. As for the poetry- I was a little disappointed. Based on what I'd seen of Gregson's work floating around on the internet, and the many good reviews, I had high hopes. But all the poems are very short, with little substance, and many seem to be very minimally different versions of the same love poem. A couple did stand out to me (not that I can reference them as there are no page numbers or titles, which is another problem with the book) but the rest were underwhelming. I appreciate this book as a concept, and the idea of a collection of 'unedited' poems is interesting, but the execution fell short for me.

As a poet Tyler Knott Gregson wins. He just does. He mostly writes romantic poetry but there are beautiful photographs and some life inspiring pieces in this book. I haven't finished it yet and I know that I will treasure it for years to come. Go typewriter series!

Such a beautiful book. I've been following Gregson on Tumblr for many years now before his name made it into the mainstream. I am so happy to see his poems and photography being published after all these years. Worth it! I love the book cover too, it's lovely.

Tyler Knott Gregson speaks to the soul on every single page of this book. I have read and re-read these poems over and over again and never have I read anything before that has made me feel my heart so intensely in my chest. Endlessly beautiful.

The authenticity of this book is amazing. Every page sucks me in and has its own unique style, I love that it's hardcover and a portable size, so I can read at airports, or when I'm taking a break from studying.

I believe things come into our lives for a reason. Three years ago, Tyler's poetry came into my life when I needed a sign for hope and courage. Recently divorced I had trouble believing in love. Broken, shattered, and bitter Tyler's words breathed fresh air into my worn out soul. I called my ex and shared his words knowing this would help us heal. Three years later we still find joy sharing Tyler's words and photos. Knowing how thrilled she would be, I purchased this book for her. We read it together. Tyler's poetry has given us courage to believe and to love. Something neither of us thought would be possible after the divorce. We have moved on with our lives and are happier as friends. I hope one day soon she will find love again and that she will get the three things she wants the most on her wedding day. The first, marrying a man that truly loves her, the second, an original Tyler Knott Gregson poem to commemorate the wedding, and lastly to have Tyler capture the first moments of her new life.
Tyler, thank you for sharing your words and photos with us. This book of poetry is a must read for everyone. Do yourself a favor and read this book and then go to Tyler's website and read the rest of his poems, haiku's, and black out poetry. Your life will be richer, and fuller.
