I wanted to like this 2nd new installation of the Walsh family. I loved the 1st book. This one was slow, lacked passion and chemistry. I kinda hated Andy, the h, but liked Patrick, the H. He deserved better. Andy came off cold and aloof. I will try one more book in the series, but Kate better bring it or I'm out!

Something about this book just threw me off. First couple of chapters started out okay then I found myself skipping over stuff just to keep moving along. I did not like Andy at all, no emotion, cold and robotic. Maybe if I finished the book I may have figured out what was wrong with her. She had to talk to herself to act normal emotionally. Patrick was okay, but besides be attracted to how she looked, not sure why he found her so intriguing, sure she was smart but ugh what a wet blanket. Not even sure why she picked the friends she had. Maybe I needed to read the first book, the family has a lot going on between all the siblings and a lot seemed to have happened during the time they grew up. At about 35% I just decided to not waist my time and hope it got better.

3.5/ 4 Stars

Patrick Walsh runs a preservation architecture firm with his siblings. Andi Asani is their new apprentice working a six month internship. She’s admired Patrick’s work all through college and working for their company has been her number one goal.

Told via Andi and Patrick’s first person point of view, as the story unfolds Patrick turns out to be quite a keeper. Though on the surface Patrick can be grumpy and he certainly has his share of frustrations, under it all he is a dedicated, hard working, guy, loyal to his family and the woman in his life.

Andi, on the other hand, initially came off confident, intelligent, and strong, but she also tended to run a bit cold, keeping people at a distance. In the beginning she acts like a tease to Patrick, and then later her behavior turns immature and entitled. The scenes with her whining about making partner left a sour taste in my mouth. While her character was primed to learn a lesson that doing what you love while surrounded by the people who matter most to you is more rewarding that a prestigious job title on paper, I never felt that truly happened. In the end, I wasn’t sure Andi deserved Patrick. That was disappointing because the premise of this story—two adults with similar backgrounds, interests, and careers developing a romantic relationship while working alongside each other—held potential.

Had the story stayed focused on Andi and Patrick making their relationship work alongside the back story of the old Walsh family home it might have avoided the angsty climax that drug on. For all the sibling discussions about the house, the will, and the father, (which honestly I suspect you need to read book one to follow when it’s first introduced in this story,) that sub plot is never used to its full potential. None the less, I did enjoy the little bit of intrigue it provided.

All in all, what the story has going for it is no cheating, no OW/OM drama, a non-manwhore hero, and plenty of sexy times. But the story execution could be tighter and the heroine’s character growth is minimal. A bit more communication between educated adults would have gone a long way in making their relationship something to really root for. None the less, it's a sexy, safe story worth checking out.

Andy Asani, architecture student applying for an internship, meets Patrick Walsh, managing partner of Walsh Associates, an architectural firm specializing in preservation and “green” architecture. Andy and Patrick should NOT get together because of the whole “you’re my boss, no you’re my intern” bit. But of course, romance happens.

The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between

-Well developed little ‘verse: I can see myself spending some time getting to know the Walshes. The time and care spent in building this universe, developing the business while building these individuals and their relationships brought. A couple of awkward turns of phrase aside, the story is well written, with good pacing and a great balance between their work and romance.

-Second book, but easy enough to follow: While there is an earlier book, not having read it didn’t detract from my enjoyment of this tale. It might have made certain relationships clearer at the onset, but I caught up quickly with minimal fuss.

-Excellent chemistry: The writing was fantastic and it really shone with the lead-up to their inevitable first time. The firsts in general were very well done, and Ms. Canterbary really set the scenes for each in a way that drew me in and made me lose myself in those moments, enjoying their truly excellent heat. The story is told in the first person, dual POV between Andy and Patrick. Usually that means that one voice is still stronger than the other, but in this case it simply highlighted how these two characters really clicked.

-Andy and Patrick, perfect for each other: There is an art to drawing well rounded characters and Ms. Canterbary has done it with Andy and Patrick. Finding a balance between saints and sinners is harder than it looks and many times, in the quest to keep the leads likeable, they lose a bit of spark. Here, Andy and Patrick can be difficult and they each take turns being, for lack of a better term, a-holes, and I liked it. Yes, they’re snobby, kinda yuppy, perfectionists, but they’re also smart, witty, funny and damaged by the pain they’ve carried around from their pasts. They fit each other really well and I really liked them, even when they screw up. And they’re fictional characters - they have to screw up or there is no story. So, having said that...

-The final obstacle was a bit overwrought: When Andy and Patrick inevitably get to the final big obstacle before the end, I thought Patrick’s screw-up wasn’t as well done as Andy’s. I understood her actions and it was perfectly in keeping with her character and the story as it had been told. Patrick’s faux pas was dependent on a curve thrown from left field. I would have also liked a little more at the end, even an epilogue. But that’s probably just me being greedy.

The Bottom Line
I really enjoyed this. Good contemporary romance with well rounded characters and an excellent amount of heat. I recommend it and I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.

There are a couple of reasons why I was feeling excited about this book within the first few pages of this book:

1.} The character development starts of freaking excellent. While the story is told in alternating POVs between Andy and Patrick, Andy is the first POV that we get and reading her inner monologue while she in her interview with Patrick felt real and had me connecting with her right away. The author clearly knows her character very well because she has created a living breathing character that knows her stuff and has a passion for green architecture.

2.} My husband is what I refer to as an 'archineer', he has mad skills in both architecture and engineering. He is at the top of his field and recognized for his hard work & passion. He has also been LEED certified. So while this may be totally random information for you at this moment, it will all make sense when you read this book {and it will only take a few pages to make the connection}. It was pretty cool to read a story related to what my husband does for his career.

3.} After meeting Patrick's sister, Shannon, I instantly loved her. She is a bad ass and I love that she puts Patrick in her place. I want to be friends with her. I actually want to be friends with this entire group. Which is why I have plans to read this entire series over Christmas break. And if you have KindleUnlimited then you are in luck because the first 3 books of the Walsh series are available! The fourth book, The Cornerstone, releases tomorrow, December 8th and is available for .99 ¢ pre-order.

If you are a fan of Kristen Proby {I love her} then I think you will love The Space Between by Kate Canterbary. She has created a cast of strong-willed woman who are kick-ass. Then there are the alps-males that are a bit arrogant at times and a little rough around the edges but they are loyal and love fiercely. I loved this book so much, I devoured it in a single day, and when I had to be torn apart to do this little thing called eating, which felt totally over rated at this time, I was thinking about Andy and Patrick.

I found this book to be funny, smart, motivated and full of sexual tension. It was a fantastic read and was the perfect introduction to the Walsh crew for me. Even though this is book 2 of the series, they do not have to be read in order. They are all standalone books that have overlapping characters. I can’t wait to read the other three books of this series and get the details on everyones HEA.

Here we have the oldest Walsh, Patrick, who starts the book interviewing a new intern architect from Cornell, Andy. In the prior book, we saw a little of Patrick, including his inability to keep staff around. Andy though turns out to be perfect for him, not only in his business but his personal life.

I was actually slow to warm up to Andy, to her personality. She came across honestly as a bit snobby and elite, and frankly a little weird and not in a good way. Most of that impression stayed with me, but whatever as she was still the match for Patrick. Their romance had to navigate the problem of her being his intern, reporting directly to him. That was a big issue obviously. I never actually understood her rage regarding the big blow-up at the end of the book (leaving out the details due to spoilers), but that is probably part of her personality that I just don't get and don't like.

In any case, my dislike of the heroine detracted at a star, but this was still a solid read, well written, and I loved the interactions among the siblings. The series story arc regarding their history and their father continues in this one with a little bit of insight. We get to see the missing Walsh, Erin, briefly. I'll definitely be continuing with this series as I absolutely have to see the others find their mates.

I mostly like this book, for the same reasons that I liked the first in the series: good background including family, city and the architectural firm. The main thing I don't like is the ending which I felt to be a cop-out. Andy is justified in being concerned that there is no future for her at Patrick's firm despite what he says. On the one hand, he says it's just paperwork and he can change it whenever he feels like it, yet on the other hand he says he can't do it just then (change the organizational hierarchy to permit promotion) and for no particular reason. No one in the real world who cares about their careers will settle for the ambiguity of her job situation. If she is as good as the book makes her out to be, I hope after a couple of years she will set out to start her own firm.

The Walsh family is back in this second installment in the series about a close knit group of siblings tainted by the pain their father heaped on them from the moment their mother died in front of them until the day he died. It's left each of them doubtful of their abilities to love and be loved and it's a struggle of extreme emotions for them to reach their HEA in this nicely paced story with lots of steamy encounters.

Patrick is an intense man who doesn't tolerate those who can't keep up with him. He likes to control all facets of work and home life but is thrown for a loop by the first woman to truly challenge him. The only trouble is is that she's the new intern and having a relationship with the boss might jeopardize her career. Patrick tries to fight his attraction but through lunches and thought-provoking conversation he becomes more obsessed with her. Friendship slowly morphs into flirty texts and when one drunken night turns sensual there's no going back for either of them. Patrick never saw himself as the marrying kind but each touch and glance has him longing for more until gossip and misunderstandings ruins the deep connection they've created. Will Patrick finally become his own man or will the ghost of his father keep him forever alone?

Andy is a strong-willed woman who's kept herself closed off since the murder of her father. She's not close with her family and has very few friends. She's a woman of mystery and it will take a determined man to get her to open up. Career is everything to her though and as she's always admired Patrick's intelligence she longs to work for him and learn all she can from him. She's drawn to him from the moment she sees him, enjoying their witty banter and increasingly steamy encounters. Though she wants to keep things relegated to just sex their relationship grows deeper and soon they're inseparable until his harsh words drive her away. Their need for each other is incredibly strong but it will take a lot of groveling on Patrick's part to get Andy back in a richly rewarding and heartfelt conclusion.

This was an enjoyable story from start to finish with immensely likable and larger than life characters. The dialogue between Patrick and Andy, as well as Patrick and his siblings, was rapid fire and playful and often put a smile on my face. The sexual tension between Patrick and Andy was obvious from the moment they met and got increasingly hotter to make for a crackling and deep-seated connection between them. At story's end the highlight is on family and their playful and argumentative interactions that were endearing and have me excited for future installments as each of the remaining siblings has issues to deal with. Ms. Canterbary has crafted an entertaining series with realistic familial interactions and I highly recommend it to readers who like stories full of colorful characters and steamy romance!

“Andy rolled over, her brown eyes boring into mine before she wrapped an arm around my neck and pulled me in for a kiss. Her lips soothed, and communicated that she understood, and knew the limitations of words. She pressed her forehead against mine with a smile.”

4 sweet, caring, stars!! I love the Walsh series, they are so sweet and refreshing! And while it’s sweet, it’s beyond sexy!

Patrick is a very successful architect, some would even say he’s the best in the field. His firm has decided to hire him an intern to alleviate some of his work load. Andy is more than excited to be working for The Walshes firm and swears she won’t do anything to mess this opportunity up. But secretly she’s got it bad for Patrick, she wants to learn everything from him. And as much as Patrick sees her passion he doesn’t want her there, because he’s attracted to her. They try like h@ll to stay away from each other. And as much as they try to deny their feelings, one night of passion changes everything for them. Patrick wants more from her and Andi is ready as well, they decide to keep things to themselves so the office doesn’t know. But things start to change when Andi finds out that Patrick hasn’t been the honest man she thought he was.

This series is amazingly well written and so cute and sexy in all the right places. I love the Walsh family and each one gets better than the next one. Definitely worth the read!

Thoughts: This book is amazing! And I'm going to say A-MAZ-ING one more time, because that is a complete about face for me when it comes to the books in this series. I'll be honest...I was less than impressed with book one of this series (which I rated with a C-....you can check out that review here: Underneath It All Review) So, I will admit, I was a bit hesitant to pick this one up....imagine my surprise when I could not put this one down! The way this one was told caught my interest, and I was captivated...yes, captivated by this book. I loved the draw Patrick felt towards Andy....even more so because it drove him so crazy trying to get a reaction out of her. I simply loved it and couldn't get enough out of their interactions. Amazingly enough, books told in multiple points view are also not usually a favorite of mine, but it worked in this case and even added to the intricacies of the story. It can also easily read it as a stand alone - in fact, this is one of the very few times I would actually advise it.

I want more books with the draw of Patrick and Andy! This book had me melting - I love that build up of tension between the characters...that intense want, desire, and need that just builds and builds until you think you can't stand it anymore! Loved it! Can't wait to see what the author has in store with book three!

The Space Between, Kate Canterbary
Genre: Romance
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
Book two in the series and I was so pleased to see it. It reminds me a bit of the Kat and Stone Bastion book series No Weddings. Not in the content, but in the style its written, much of it first person, pathos and humour, a story that makes the reader see both sides, and a supportive, though at times bickering, family who run a business together utilising each persons strengths. Where NW gave us fabulous descriptive parties that I could envisage, and delicious inventive cakes, this family's story gives us incredible buildings, insights into sustainable mechanics, and just what can be done to old and new buildings. Sustainable future is something I’m passionate about too - and of course we’ve a story that mixes humour with tears, passion, romance and smouldering sex, with deep, dark drops that made me really sad.
I loved the first book, though I floundered a bit on working out the back story and how everyone related. I’m still a little in the dark, but as the story grows more becomes clear. The stories centre around the Walsh siblings, and what a terrific group they are. Four brothers, two sisters, ( I’m desperate to know what brought on the breach between Erin and Shannon – 5 years is a long time to hold a grudge) and all apart from Erin work together in their own firm. They each have specialised talents and different characters, very, very different. Patrick as the oldest is known for being abrupt to the point of rudeness, but passionate about his work and a born leader. They’ve all got nicknames and his is Optimus. ( My boys were Transformers fans as kids, so I recognise the irony of it. I love Matt’s wife-to-be, Lauren’s name – Miss Honey, she’s a schoolteacher/owner and they’ve taken the name from Roald Dahl's book Matilda)
Finally the firm is taking on its first intern, and Andy appears. From the first sight of her Patrick is struck – and he hates losing control. He doesn’t want to take her even though she’s undoubtedly perfect for the job, tries to say “no” at the interview but Andy's having none of it. He’s her hero, his dissertation has been her inspiration and bedtime reading for years, this is the job she’s aimed for since her teens, and she’s getting it. As he interrupts her and starts to say No, she stops him and tells him she hasn’t finished speaking..... Needless to say she gets the position, and its Patrick she’ll be working with.
The first few weeks are a nightmare for him, he can’t concentrate, her nearness affects his thoughts, his speech and his actions. He’s so abrupt in the office about her the others think he hates her but nothing could be further from the truth. When they’re out on site he manages to wrangle her lunching with him, and thinks up every excuse he can for them to spend more time together. Somehow this self contained, ever composed, always in control man is soon in the throes of a passionate affair with Andy. She’s afraid for her reputation, doesn’t want people gossiping, saying she only get the job because she’s sleeping with him. Patrick is just mentally displaced and can’t work out what’s happened, just knows he can’t get enough of her. I love the way they are together, and it’s like they are just so perfect. Still, the secret romance gradually gets to be more widely known in the family, but just as it seems as if they are finally going to go public, tell everyone they’re in love all goes wrong. Terribly wrong, and the old prejudices on both sides that have made them both hold parts of themselves back so far, snake out and they say things they regret.
Poor Patrick, and poor Andy. He regrets what happened and what he said, she can see where she’s maybe jumped to conclusions and yet she can’t go back, or maybe that’s won’t. She’s afraid that everything she’s spent years working for will be lost...and won’t respond to his apologies. Its a really sad time – and I love those, and for me its extended perfectly, to the point where I wondered whether this would continue to another book...( it doesn’t, no cliff hangers) I just couldn’t see how they’d come back, how Andy could put things behind her.
Along with the Patrick and Andy story, there’s the overall smaller plots regarding the family, changes within the firm, the aftermath of the death and reading of their fathers Will, Matt and Lauren’s wedding, and the mystery surrounding Erin. Its a family full of secrets, a family so hurt by their fathers actions. He loved them dearly, they were a wonderful, close and happy family for years, until when Patrick was eleven their mother died in really tragic and bloody circumstances, dying in front of her young children. Their dad seemed to blame them, has been a drunken and angry father since, and his rages against each of them were vitriolic, so cruel and destructive, picking at what he knew were weak spots and creating as much hurt as he could. Really its a wonder they survived so well, and it’s made them a very tight knit family. The earlier part where in book one I said it felt like I didn’t know the backstory is gradually coming out, and I feel I know so much more about the family this way. Its so massive the background that this show way of letting me see the past is best, had it been just “told” then I think I’d not have got the full impact of the horror that was their childhood after their mothers death. I hate being told a plot anyway, I find I just switch off, and don’t remember essential info, so this way has proved great for me, even though I had initial misgivings.
I certainly want to read more from the family but who next? Erin? with whatever’s between her and Shannon, or Shannon with her full on aggressive man-eater kind of outlook that’s probably covering a vulnerable and hurt inside. Or Sam, the gentle soul on the surface, but with deep emotional issues simmering beneath, the man who their father mocked and called gay even though he’s always out with the ladies...or Riley the baby? He’s Andy’s age and yet there seems years between them. He seems like one of life’s innocents as far as malice goes, always joking, friendly, outgoing but he gets teased for his ability to mess up his clothes ( the coffee!) and often seems to get the bum jobs dumped on him. I wonder what’s going on behind that make everyone smile image he shows.
Stars: Five, a wonderful gripping sexy continuation of the Walsh family.

Kate Canterbary kills it again!! I have to say this is an unbelievable series so far and we are only in book 2!
This is a stand alone book but can be read as a series and I certainly recommend the first book in the series because that was a five star for me also.
This is Patrick Walsh's story of how he met Andy.
This quote does it all for me!
"Andy and me, we're a lot like those old homes. Steeped in history. Living in the present while bearing the weight of the past. Secrets hidden beneath the surface. She believed in histories and she believed they were a critical element in understanding the present. Andy showed me that it was possible for someone to know my soul."
This book is an all around high-five! From the characters to the plot line to the ending I loved every minute of it and I stayed up late into the night to read the conclusion to their story.
Andy is by far the one of the best female characters I have read this year! I loved just about everything about her. Not only is she a quiet force to be reckoned with but she is like a book that needs to be opened up and turned page by page to be read...I loved her!
I highly recommend this book and I cannot wait for the next book in the series! Great job Kate!!

I think the Walsh siblings have replaced my other favorite Walsh siblings you remember those twins that moved from Minnesota to Beverly Hills. This is the second book in this series featuring a member of the Walsh clan that consists of six siblings Patrick, Matt, Sam, Riley, Shannon, and Erin. In the Space Between we get Patrick’s story. He is the eldest of the Walsh’s, and we quickly learn the one with a lot on his shoulder. I came to admire his dedication and strong work ethic, as well as his perseverance. He was a role model to many and when we meet Andi, we realize that intelligence and sophistication is what is most attractive about him. You would think that would make things easy for him, but no just the opposite, and well Andi his apprentice seems to complicate things for his carefully coordinated life.

As this book can be read as a stand alone it will be beneficial to read the first book in the Walsh series. The events from that book give you an insight from the past of the family. Plus it’s Matt and Lauren’s story and so good. Book two in the series starts where the first left off and continues with a new apprentice being hired. Andi is a smart, and career driven women. She has idolized Patrick forever, and it would be her dream to learn from him. The only thing standing in her way is how attracted she is to her new boss’s body and mind. She admires him for his designs and his ideas. At first, Patrick is hesitant about having Andi as an apprentice. He has a hard time concentrating around her. Her beauty and finesse amaze him, and also he sees a lot of potential in her as a colleague. These two were pretty much born for each other. Connection forms and there is no denying the sparks. The only question is Andi willing to risk her dream career for Patrick, one she has worked long and hard for?

Andi wasn’t a soft character, she was blunt and raw. Sometimes I felt she was too confident, but those qualities attracted Patrick to her the most. She didn’t care what anyone thought of her, and she knew exactly who she was. She fit right in with the Walsh’s and Patrick proved to be her perfect half. As for Patrick well, he is like a male version of Andi and although their personalities clash at times, it makes for an interesting story.

Patrick and Andi’s chemistry had the flawless combination of dirty and sweet. I enjoyed them together in and out of the office. They had a few ups and downs, but nothing extremely catastrophic. This was an easy read for me. I would say that this book would appeal to a certain age group. It had a mature feel throughout the bookas most of its characters were well put together.

I am liking this series more than I imagined. I’ve become attached to the characters which didn’t take long at all. I love the dynamic of the story and am looking forward to more books about the Walsh’s.

Growly alpha male
Sexy driven apprentice

Book #2 in the Walsh series, gives us the story of Patrick, the difficult, growly, alpha male architect and his sexy, driven apprentice Andy. Patrick works with his 4 siblings at their sustainable preservation architectural firm and although he has trouble keeping assistants, Andy is determined to become his apprentice. Both immediately feel an attraction for each other but due to working together they try to ignore it. Needless to say, that doesn't turn out so well.
If you read Book #1, you know that Kate Canterbary can write some fabulous sexy times and this book doesn't disappoint!
The characters are both strong, intelligent, well written individuals with quirky flaws that make you fall in love with them separately as well as a couple.
These books keep getting better!!

This book exudes sexiness! The author is beyond extraordinary and I will buy anything she writes!

The leading female character, Andy, is strong, intelligent, independent, and confident. Patrick is the quintessential Irishman, which in my dictionary means strong, sexy, intense, stubborn, and moody. Externally, her composure remains cool and dispassionate, which drives him borderline obsessive. Internally, they are both going insane just to be close to one another. Their chemistry is atomic!

I was addicted the moment I started! I’ve grown tired of reading about docile women lately, which makes this novel a refreshing change. Andy makes Patrick earn her trust, though it’s not a game. Although their banter is playful, and sometimes spicy, the undertones are endearing.
The Welsh family is adorable, quite lovable, and each sibling complements another. I can’t wait to see who finds love next!

There are several elements that play a part in the brilliance of this erotic novel as a whole. The characters are amazing, the writing is incisive, and the romance is alluring. Point of view is bounced between the hero and heroine decisively, enriching the quality of the read. Research, or extensive knowledge, of Sustainable Architecture is evident. This author has an astute and articulate writing style.

I’ve already purchased the first installment of this series, and I will not miss another!

I was gifted an ecopy in exchange for an honest review.

Kate Canterbary does it again. This is a family series and I love those; you get to see where the previous characters are and their stories continue and you learn more background into what made them all the way they were. Kate's stories overlap and she does an amazing job at keeping everything consistent. Patrick is the oldest child in the family and he is the head of Walsh Associates, he is also a difficult pain in the A$$. Andy sees Patrick as her idol and wants to learn everything she can from him. She ends up learning a lot more than she bargained for (no I just don't mean sex you dirty minded people). These books are about romance and sex, don't get me wrong, but what I love the most is that they are real. The characters have problems, you learn about the relationships they have with their siblings and you get to dig deep into their personalities. Kate is a literary genius.

The Walsh family is quickly becoming one of my favorite families right behind the Walkers and the Montgomery’s. Kate Canterbary did a brilliant job of building the tension and chemistry between Patrick and Andy. And I liked Andy from start to finish. Kate’s first book, Underneath it All was a hard read for me since I had issues with the heroine and her treatment of Matthew Walsh in the first part of the book. But not this one. Andy was already quite smitten with dear Patrick before they even met and her idolization of him only made their interactions that much sweeter. And Patrick. Good grief, that man is adorable and so freaking hot! He was such a goner for Andy and didn’t even realize it at first. Watching their relationship unfold and develop was a treat to read.
And the interaction between the Walsh siblings is priceless. They have such a messed up history and yet they are some of the closest siblings I have seen. This book, like the last one, deals in some heavy history and emotions for the siblings, but Kate expresses it all brilliantly. This book is intelligent and sexy and real. The characters are flawed, but the story is well paced and realistic. Kate Canterbary writes amazing sex scenes. She captures the intimacy between the characters and the emotions bleed off the page. I really enjoyed this book and I will be impatiently waiting to see what happens with the Walsh family next.

Andy finds that she is working for a very dangerous man. Dangerous to her as a woman and as an aspiring architect. She knows its not in her best interest to mix business with pleasure. Deep down soul filling pleasure, but sometimes lines get blurred then crossed.

Patrick know that he should stay professional with his new apprentice but things are not that simple when he find her to be so much more than he could have ever expected. Their shared passion turns into a shared passion.

Canterbary had done it again for me. She has brought me back to the family that I fell in love with in her first book of this series 'Underneath it All'. Know its time to see more into Patrick's life and you will not be disappointed.

This is the first book about The Walsh family that I have had the pleasure of reading. And I was not disappointed! The chemistry alone was incredibly intense and I LOVED IT! How can you not just fall in love with both Patrick and Andy??? What a great couple to follow and see how they meet and fall in love.

Patrick needs an apprentice and Andy fits the bill. He is hesitant at first because he knows this is heading towards something more. I mean how can it not?? Andy is breathtakingly beautiful and how long is Patrick suppose to go without touching her? She is also incredibly smart which makes her even more attractive.

Andy is definitely hesitant at first because getting involved with her boss is a very bad idea. But she loses that battle pretty quickly. She finds Patrick's beauty too much to resist. Did I mention that he is the perfect book boyfriend? Sweet, strong, romantic with just the right amount of sexy!

Patrick and Andy's story is sweet and definitely one you should read. The chemistry between these two characters is palpable throughout the book and the sex scenes are nothing short of HAWT! This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. But I plan on reading the first book of the series, Underneath It All and you should too!!

Starting out your dream apprenticeship lusting after your boss is now way to go! Unfortunately for Andy Asani that's exactly what is happening. When that lust is reciprocated, one long year is surely ahead!! Hopefully lots of wine, vodka, and yoga will get Andy through it. Patrick Walsh doesn't make it easy though. Always the serious, grumpy Walsh brother he seems to change around Andy making him hotter than he already is. When things get heated will they be able to keep everyone else in the dark or will their secret affair flare out of control??

I love this Walsh family. All a little bruised and a lot battered, what they have is each other and the loyalty they have is fantastic. This is a great series and this book is definitely one I recommend.

This book we get more insight into the oldest brother Patrick. We get to enjoy a wedding and a small snippet of Lauren’s brothers.
I really enjoyed Andy and how she never backed down. Her and Patrick had great chemistry.
I wish we had more on the whole partnership and if that will really happen as that was mentioned but no details.
On to the next sibling!

I definitely have moved this series to my must read list. Kate Canterbary is a talented writer. Her characters are so vivid and interesting that I find them easy to connect to and I feel invested in their happily ever after. Though this is part of a series, it could stand alone. I have read the first book though, and I recommend it. The Walsh family is one I would like to be related to, or have as neighbors. What fun that would be! I especially appreciate the crisp, sharp dialogue and the family banter. Oh, and let's not forget the passion factor - so high and so very well done! I cant wait for the next book!

I am truly enjoying this series! Love the connection the Walsh siblings have with one another, especially Patrick & Matt (the conversation in the attic was hilarious!). Andi was a nice addition to the group, as she made instant connections with not only Patrick, but those close to him as well. Such a fun and entertaining story.....and once again, I can't wait to read about the rest of the Walsh family!

I am getting nothing done......except fly through this amazing series! This is Patrick's story and #2 in the series. If you haven't read the 1st in the series, you really should start there. This is a family of fast talking, 3rd generation Irish/Boston family business owners, that not only have lived through a childhoods from hell but lived to tell about it. I am a little.....ok a lot in love with Patrick and want to hang out with him at lunch. This is a love story and when Patrick finally realizes what how amazing and devastating love can be he finds out he finds himself comparing it to the old bastard that made his family life hell........

4 'TERRIFYING and AMAZING' STARS.

I love the way Kate Canterbary writes. It never gets boring. The way she does segues from one topic to another and then connect them together, I love it. The way she introduces a new line of thought then reference it to a previous one, I love it more. The superhero references, I LOVE them most.

For a lot of apparent reasons, Patrick and Andy were meant for each other. It wasn't their similarities that made them perfect for each other. It was their likeness and differences put together that made them click as a couple.

Also, Underneath it all (Lauren and Matthew's story) is a favorite of mine so on top of my fondness to this author, I love her even more everytime I read bits and pieces of Matt and Lauren in this book. Another thing that made this story more interesting is that it included more history about the Walshes. I really love how these siblings interacted with each other, how they bantered and cursed at each one and then showed love and respect at the same time. I love it that each sibling had his/her own personality yet you wouldn't mistake them from being a true blooded Walsh.

Kate wrote simple and short scenes among the siblings showing how they cared for one another like they were no big deal but in fact these little scenes were what made the series a great one that it is.

Obviously, I love almost everything about Kate's writing (IF not all) and I'm so up for reading the next two books and then wait for the last 2 to be released. I can't wait to unleash more Walshes secrets.

The second book in 'The Walshes' series is just as amazingly written as the first was.

The eldest Walsh brother, Patrick, meets his match in the young but brilliant Andy Asani.

The characterization is done extremely well and I will never get enough of these people. They are intelligent, funny and have everyday troubles and it was very refreshing to read, in between all the rockstar with stalkers/ kidnapped by the maid/ my husband is the easter bunny things I read every day.

This book should be read after 'Underneath It All' and you will not regret it if you pick it up today!

I enjoyed reading The Space Between. I was immediately drawn into the Walsh family despite not reading book 1.
Both Patrick and Andy had sadness in their past. I liked the way the author handled their issues. It was over dramatic.
I liked Patrick's surly but sweet personality. He was all Alpha but not over the top demanding.
Andy was headstrong and determined;fiesty and smart. I liked watching her give Patrick a run for his money.
While I enjoyed reading this , there wasn't too much in terms of drama or angst. When it did happen it was close to the end of the book and was resolved rather quickly.

I was given a copy for a honest review.

My first Kate Canterbary book and I haven't looked back! Patrick growly, Andy his apprentice whom he has the hots for but does not want to cross the line. Oh how I loved Andy! She is what real women should aspire to be, that and have fabulous hair. The unspoken words between Andy and Patrick via some very hot stares (fans self). Yeah, you need to read Patrick and Andy's story and fall in love.

Who says you can't work for your hot boss?

Gah! Patrick is my new favorite! I really liked this one. Andy felt like a super relatable heroine and sort of reminded me of myself. She was equal parts bitchy, nerdy, and hot.

Patrick was moody and broody like I knew he would be, but I looooved his love for her.

I can't tell you how much I adore this family dynamic they have going on. At one point, it felt like an episode of Parenthood when everyone is talking over each other. Super entertaining and endearing. I've fallen for every single member of their fam. I'm looking forward to Sam's book because I LOVE me a tortured soul with a side of kink! ;)

This series just keeps getting better. The protagonists are likeable, strong, smart and love one another deeply. The stories have an HEA with just a little angst but not enough to derail it. Ms. Canterbury's books are romantic, hot sexy and revolve around family (that's what makes them real). Don't miss this one it well worth the!

Oh boy Kate Canterbary has a way with these growly bity boys. Patrick was the epitome of possessive alpha male and I adored him from his freckled head to toe. There is just something about a man that never hides his attraction or feelings. From the moment Andy and Patrick sat across from that interview table, the sparks were going off.

But that big blinking sign

It hung over their heads and the fun began. I like those story lines that brush up against the lines of breaking the rules. With Andy being Patrick’s apprentice ..that line was right there ..aching to be crossed.

They jumped right over it and I was so happy to see this love story begin. From secret bathroom escapades to some almost nookie in the office.

This was hot! Patrick was so open and straight up about how he felt. He was passionate and sexy and his dirty filthy mouth just kept me smiling.

Andy she was a very very hard character for me. I tend to need my heroines to have a nurturing or soft side. But also to be strong and feisty. She had those 2 elements down pat but was so closed off ..I was just as confused as Patrick sometimes. There were a few moments I saw a glimpse of softness in her but for the most part I like Patrick said.

She never gave us anything.

But Patrick loved everything about her and I loved seeing this strong man fight for the woman he wanted. By the end I really started to like Andy as I saw that she just was this strong woman who wanted to make it a world of men and didn't want anything to take her away from her goal. Once she figured out that her and Patrick were one amazing team..it all worked out. She even had to look closely into her own heart to see how she had pushed everybody away. All in all this was one very sexy and very funny at times romance.

Kate gives me perfect alphas and I can’t wait for the next one

Another great book. I love the Walsh Family!
Kate brings life the her characters. They family has a unique gift for architecture and building relationships to spite themselves. Patrick doesn't know what's hits him when he meets Andy at an interview for his firm. She captures and holds his attention and it's fun to watch the two dance around each other. Great read. Can't wait for Sam, Riley Shannon and hopefully Erin's books. (less)

Patrick, Patrick, Patrick...what can I say about him?? Kate has out done herself in writing another awkward, sexy, smart, romantic, and totally lovable hero. Her books have the perfect mix of story and character development and sex. I like both in equal amounts and Mrs. Canterbary delivers on all fronts. The interaction between Patrick and Andy is some of the best and it's what keeps me coming back to this particular book again and again and again. I love a good reread and I have them on audible, too. I highly recommend both. If you haven't met the Walshes, what are you waiting for?? Get the books!!

Patrick Walsh is the epitome of perfectionist. Unless you can logically convince him to do something, it's his way or no way at all. So when Andy Asani comes into his life as a headstrong, never-back-down, knows her s*** apprentice, oh boy do the fireworks start. Doesn't help that they're also insanely attracted to each other. Yet another book I couldn't put down!

I could not wait to continue the Walsh series with Mr. Patrick Walsh. What a yummy grump. I have to admit I love a grumbly guy. And enter Andy who can give him a run for his money. I think Andy is my spirit animal with her calm, cool demeanor. Love her!. And of course the fabulous Kate gives us another well written, smart, sexy story. Definitely recommend.
