My 2 year old really likes reading this book. The illustrations are neat to look at. I only wish there was more contrast between the illustrations and text. We tend to read in a dark room before bedtime and it can be difficult to see some of the words sometimes.

My two year old looooves this book and requires someone to read it to him multiple times during the day and even attempts to read it himself. He has memorized a lot of it. If your child is into trains, this book it perfect.

Initially, we did not think this story was a cute or engaging as the others we have about trains, but it is well written and "grew" on us. It's a frequently requested title at bedtime now.

I would recommend!

Super cute pictures and story. We are pretty picky about our books and we really liked this one. I love a good, simple rhyming book and the illustrations on this are well thought. If you're looking to expand your bedtime collection this is a good one!

Purchased this for my 3-year old grandson. He loves it and was asking to have it read to him every night. So, I also then gave him "Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site", which he likes equally well! Now, at least my son and daughter-in-law can rotate the books each night!

This is one of my favorite bedtime books, my boys also like it and sit still when we read it (that doesn't happen for all books). The words are rhythmical. The pictures are very creative and it seems like we see new things on each page every time we read it.

I usually have to slowly introduce new books to my (18 mo) son before he decides he wants me to read the whole thing (I'll get through a page or two and then he's asking for the next one). Not this book - first night we read it he wanted me to read it twice! We read it last every night and he's always engaged - the pictures are interesting and playful, the cadence of the story is perfectly tuned to sound like a train going slowly, then fast, then slowly again and tired back into the station...and my son is tired at that point, too. It works!
