Cars, Trains & Things That Go
Review:This is absolutely one of THE BEST books I ever read! Your children have to be a little older to truly understand it! I read it to my 11 and 13 year old and it was just perfect! It teaches about life's up and downs while encouraging your audience they CAN DO IT!!!! I loved it! It was first introduced to me by a mom who came in to read it to my first grade class! So inspiring and heartwarming! Read more

Review:I love King and I love the fact that he decided to make a children's book. Oops, I mean Mr. Evans! I read this to my daughter upon purchase. She is six, and although she did cry when she thought Charlie would die and found is face a little creepy, she loved the story and it really engaged her on a different level then the generic children's book. She loved it so much she put her name in it and it already has found a prominent place on her shelf.
This is the magic of King. This is what h... Read more
Review:I was getting Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site for my son and decided on the box set. GGCS is a cute book that follows various different pieces of construction equipment as they go through their bedtime routines. The pictures are on the dark side but in a soothing way. The story is cute but it takes a bit too much time to get the cadence of the rhyme right. There are a couple of places where I improvise because I just can't seem to make the original words fit. All in all it is a cute book.... Read more
Review:This is probably Pete's worst book. There is one part of the book that makes no sense to me and I always turn back because I figure I must have missed a page. The playground equipment crashes to the ground and on the next page it's put back together. It's very odd because the whole point of the book is construction so up to that point they talk about how they plan and build it, then it falls down and magically reappears??? Just odd. Too bad - mostly for me. My son doesn't seem to mind but ... Read more
Review:My English language learners love Pete the Cat. This is a nice story for emerging early readers, as the illustrations help children to understand any new vocabulary that they don't know. In this book, Pete explores a train and tells his story about travelling to see his grandma. My ESL students really latched on to and understood the concept and had great discussions after they read it. Great little learning tool. Fun illustrations! Read more
Review:This is a delightful book filled with lots of "action" words (bam, whop, dig, smush, etc) and a jaunty narrative. I love that it takes the reader from the very first stage of building a road (marking the road on a map) to the very last (opening day) and the author even thought to add planting around the highway before it opens. The illustrations are vibrant and cute. Both my 2 (boy) and 5 (girl) year olds love this story and it's one I don't mind reading over and over again! Read more
Review:The Wander
The wander is a very good adventure story about traveling across the ocean in a boat. Unfortunately it is very hard to get into. I had to start it twice before it got interesting.
It is about Sophie and her cousin Cody. In the beginning it tells about how Sophie always seemed drawn to the sea and how she was so happy to get to come on this transatlantic voyage with her uncles and cousins. Sophie and Cody write in there journal about there impatience to leave and get to Engla... Read more
Review:My transportation obsessed toddler is obsessed with this book. We look at it multiple times a day, and multiple times a day I hear, "Uts dis?" This is perfect book for little eyes that like things that go! Read more
Review:I'm extremely disappointed with the quality of this book - despite being a picture book, the text is independent of the pictures and the pictures are tiny on an iPad. As far as kids go, it's a sad excuse for a book. Not worth buying and I'm sorely disappointed in the quality of the experience. Save your money. Read more
