Cars, Trains & Things That Go
Review:John Flanagan produced a great series with the Ranger's Apprentice, you got to watch Will grow up and change, while each book covers a singular, but exciting quest or battle and ends in our hero learning many new skills and more about himself and his comrades.
In the Brotherband books, our hero, Hal, is well described and so are his companions, but they spend all of their time one one single quest and he seems to already have most of his skills, his intelligence already handed to him at t... Read more
Review:Ok I enjoyed the ranger apprentice series and went looking for a new book by john flanagan and I found the brother band chronicles. This series over laps,in my opinion with the ranger apprentice making it at times confusing. For instance this book gave a reference to Horace and I first thought king but then I remembered this book is set farther back than book 12 of the ranger apprentice. Overall great series but I liked the ranger apprentice better and wish more would be made. Read more
Review:I purchased this book for my monster truck lovin' 3 year old. I personally do not like the use of "But heck" in the book, which is why I gave it 4 stars. Without it I would have rated it a 5 simply because he loves the book. I have chosen to omit reading him that line and felt I should give others a heads up before making their purchase. Read more

On occasion it felt like an example (beautifully done with one page of statements and the opposite page describing the actions being taken for the transaction) had already been covered, but in the end he leaves no stone unturned. If a basics building book is what you're looking for- this is it. Read more
Review:This book was driven by a great and very imaginative plot. The language used was absolutely beautiful, and the characters were immensely rich and engaging. Over all, this is worthy to be called a take off of the classic "Moby Dick". Read more

Review:A sweet story for young travelers. The animal travelers have adorable expressions, the journey is explained in rhyme but details are factual. I especially appreciate the explanation of how the air lifts the plane, and the explanations of the pre- and post-flight. This book was received with enthusiasm and read daily before/during a long trip. If you're a creative reader (adding to the book with further stories and descriptions), this book can work for as early as 18 months, and could also be an ... Read more
