Absolutely loved this story of the origins of Santa Claus. What a unique story that was fun to read. Loved all of the little details that eventually lead to explaining all of the 'magic' of Santa Claus. Really looking forward to the author's next foray to the North Pole.

I absolutely loved the science brought to the story of good ol' Santa Claus. It was an amazing read, couldn't stop once I started reading, I will definitely be suggesting this one to everyone I know.

I loved this twist on a favorite tale. Brave strong people, face daily challenges created by some totally today errors in family life. Add in the magic of science and the whimsy of Santa and Jack Frost. This is a WINNER. :-) :-) :-)

As a primary school librarian, I have seen tons of Santa Claus books. This one is so different from any that I have read, and I loved it! It is definitely for older children, because of the dark aspects, but it is a great new twist on how the Jolly Old Man came to be and do what he does.

An amazing Christmas tale that explains Santa, elves, Jack Frost, flying reindeer, snowmen, and so much more. Great to read alone, or start a family tradition of reading it together with the whole family as Christmas nears. That is something I plan to do should I ever have children. Easily re-readable. Highly suggest.

Really good concept and plot. I admire the author for thinking outside the box. Some of the story was slow and some of the writing lacked in areas, but I really enjoyed reading it. It's a great holiday read for all to enjoy.

This story was entertaining and imaginative. I couldn't put it down, even when I suspected what might happen. It would make a great animated movie. When Jack spoke, I imagined Jack Nicolson's voice! I liked the way the author weaved common knowledge of the Santa Claus legend as we know it into his fantastic story. The description and imagery put me right there with the characters. The twists in the plot and the way the author brings it together keep the reader's interest.

This is my first book review, and certainly not going to be a well constructed review, but I can assure you that this is a story you won't want to miss! I can honestly say that this is one of the best books I have ever read. It grabs you from the first chapter and leads you through full speed till the very end. The characters are heartfelt and inviting; you feel like you have known them all of your life!

Really good read - I especially enjoyed the way the story developed throughout and how the plot was worked into a narrative combining a few centuries ago with modern/futuristic technology

I would recommend it.

I really liked this story about who Santa is. It is not meant for children so parents please understand that! It is a great story for those of us who love to BELIEVE so that our kids can see the spirit in us!

Now this is a totally different concept of the Santa Claus story!

I found it very entertaining. The author created a completely new universe and did a wonderful job of blending science and magic.

I cannot express how much pleasure I received while reading this book. So well written, beautifully tying together the childlike beauty and imagination of Christmas. I plan to read it again and again at Christmas time.

I just finished reading this book and it's awesome! It's a bit twisted but has all the folk lore and stories you've ever heard cleverly rolled in to a great tale. It answers all the questions I've ever had since a kid. I can see this as a animated or Tim Burton kind of Christmas classic. During the whole read I pictured Jim Carrey as "The Cold One". Lots of fun.

I chose this book because it looked different. "Claus Legend of the fat Man" is definitly not your normal Santa Claus story, but one with a twist. I loved the story, loved the characters and upset it ended. I finished the book last week and am still thinking of it. It would make a great movie with all the action that goes happens. Go to the store.com pick up this book and find your reading spot to enjoy the story.

I recently discovered Tony Bertauski and I'm glad I did. This was the first book of his I've read and I loved it. This is the Santa origin story you get when you add in the sci-fi elements that neatly explain all the things you already know about him. How does he get around the world in one night? How does he know when kids are sleeping or awake? Now's your chance to find out.

This is a very different portrayal of the man, elves & the origin of this much beloved legend. I simply could not put it down and read it all in one day. I really enjoyed how bits and pieces of the folklore were sprinkled throughout the story to come together in what was a very satisfying end (and new beginning)!

This book gives the reader a quirky and thoroughly entertaing twist on the Santa Clause story. The characters draw you in with their warmth and relationships: the plot careened through suspense, adventure, thrills and spills and plenty of action. A unique new take on an old story: a fast fun read.

This is a great imagining of how Santa Claus came to be. I loved it from beginning to end. It's well written and engaging. I'm not a big reviewer, so I'm not going to go into a ton of details. All I can say is, read it!
