I mentioned in my Damnable Grace review last week that I had missed Styx a little in the newest Hangman book, but then Tillie goes and surprises us all with this beautiful little novella which is all about my favourite main man. I was one of the very lucky few who got an ARC of this book and I literally spent the entire day refreshing my kindle account waiting for it to drop in!

This is going to be short, sweet and spoiler free because there is not really anything I could tell you about this book that wouldn't ruin it for you. Basically it's exactly what we hoped it would be and more.

"That’s who I’m gonna marry. The wolf - eyed girl I met behind the fence."

It's hard to chose a favourite couple from this series because I love them all for different reasons, but Styx and Mae will always hold a special place in my heart because they were the first. And so getting this novella which is all about them and their love for each other, no biker/cult/clan or whatever drama to get in the way.

"Trust and love and safety. And light. Light so bright and pleasure so strong that I did not feel Styx move beside me until his lips met mine and his tongue pushed into my mouth."

Mae's and Styx's love has always given me all the feels but in this book, told in alternating POVs, it literally pores from the pages. Styx's dilemma over wanting to speak at his wedding was just so raw and honest and I was filled with so much emotion watching him struggle to do this one simple thing for the woman he loves so much.

So, simply put. FEELS, LOVE, EMOTION...that's basically it. And it's AMAZING!

"The infamous Hangmen mute of the Hades Hangmen, so different with her than with anybody else. To others he was aloof, silent, and menacing. But to me, he was loving, caring,a and the most beautiful soul in the world. The other half of my heart. "

This has been a long, anticipated event within the Hangmen world for quite some time. Styx and Mae are the two that began this series, this world, and it feels like forever ago that their story came out!
I was so excited when Tillie announced a secret Hangmen project... that excitement escalated ten-fold when I found out it was a novella about these two on their wedding day. I love the way this series is progressing and how we're getting stories from every member of the crew but I find myself missing past characters. The small glimpses into their lives isn't always enough to satisfy my selfish cravings. Styx and Mae are the reason I fell in love with this series, as well as Tillie's writing. Of course I want more of them! Regardless, I'll take whats given to me!

"I want you to promise yourself to me, but I will not see your pride and dignity jeopardized simply for the unnecessary sacrifice of words."

The story/ceremony was beautiful and moving. It warmed my heart and made me shed some happy tears, finally. (Lord knows I shed enough sad ones over AK in Damnable Grace, oy vey.) I look forward to watching their family grow and seeing Styx as a father.

If you clicked all the way to the end of the book, you'll see whom the next book will be about! I'm interested and excited to see what Tillie plans to do with the plot and where these characters will go next.

Coming on the heels of Damnable Grace, Tillie Cole's I Do, Babe is a light read in the Hades Hangmen series. Taking place during and after the events of the last book, it unites two of the favorite characters in the books in matrimony. Styx and Mae were destined to be together since they were children. With all of the chaos reigning down around them, it is sweet and nice to see Styx worry about his insecurities regarding his speech. He really wants to say his vows to Mae. To see the love they have for each other, despite the difficulties and obstacles they have had to endure, is still one of the most beautiful things ever.

The day has finally come for Styx and Mae...their wedding day! So much excitement and anticipation for this day and poor Styx is hiding his fear from Mae....he wants to be able to declare his love for her and be able to speak the words to her on his wedding day but wanting and actually being able to are 2 different things entirely. Can he get out all the words or will he be mute on the happiest day of his life? Can he declare his love for his blue eyes beauty or will he be mute and not be able to???? Love Tillie gave us this little novella...it was perfect in every way!!!

Seriously can Styx be any sweeter? Sweet is certainly not his usual persona as Prez of the Hades Hangmen, but when he's with Mae, he's a totally different man. Their wedding is even more than what I expected and the love these two have for each other is just everything! A short, but perfect companion novella to Damnable Grace (as parts the storylines are happening at the same time).

What a sweet addition to the Hades Hangman series. This is the wedding I’ve been waiting for. After all, Styx and Mae were the beginning of this incredible series and this novella provided the perfect look back at their love story, how it began and how far everyone has come. Styx is struggling with his inability to speak his wedding vows while Mae worries about Styx and what she feels he is keeping from her. This was a nice departure from the usual angst that the Hangman go through while being a heartfelt and sometimes heartbreaking story.

What an unexpected treat, Styx is my fave and after reading this I now want to reread 'It ain't me, babe'.

The marriage of Styx and Mae, it's a loving moment in their lives and I couldn't be happier with how it was written.

Romantic, passionate exactly how you want a wedding to go. I loved it.

Ky did have me laughing in this, he was such a little #shit.

A quick read. No forward progression to the overall storyline, it's a typical wedding epilogue. But it was highly emotional and fans of the series will enjoy it. My only complaint would be that the phrase "ice blue wolf eyes" was severely overused. We get it. Imo this story should've came out later in the year when Hangmen fans were restless for a taste again. *shrugs* But it was good.
