Before I read the book, I have little knowledge about creating an application. But after I read this book, especially chapter 4:Conducting Competitive Research, I know a lots of useful methods to know my directed or undirected competitor. Also, chapter 7 helped me finish my first prototype in a efficient and convenient way. I am so proud of to have my first application prototype with fully researched and when I have interview in product manager, I am willing to share my product with interviewers. It do help me a lot in my interview.

This was a fantastic read. It helped very much to clarify what is meant by UX strategy and the high level approach that is taken to establish optimal value in a product. The stories that Jamie shared about her family's business adventures really helped to drive home each principle. I would recommend this book for the student and the practitioner. Lots of valuable action items covered which make it easy to start thinking UX strategy right away.

This is a great book with lots of practical, real-life examples of how to apply UX strategy. Unlike many other books and resources, there is equal weighting given to both user needs and business needs, and how to combine the two to come up with a product that users will like and want to use. I learnt a lot about strategies that I could use in my own work as a UXer such as methods for getting stakeholders on board with user needs and doing initial research to prove or disprove the value proposition of a new product idea. A great read for beginner and experienced UXers alike.

Love this book. Its concise, passionate, opinionated, funny, honest and above all useful. Whether or not your are in UX,you will find it full of gems, and clear guidance. The author outlines a clear and in depth methodology that could be used for almost any digital discipline, where the urge to build often overtakes the need for solid fundamentals, alignment with business strategy and the need to generate actual revenue. If you've ever wondered how to achieve all that, then buy this book, and enjoy!

The book really boils down the key elements of UX design and UX strategy process in a super readable and digestible manner. All important terms are well explained and given examples to support. More than that, the author oversees the word "UX" from a higher level which encompasses discussions about business strategy, and other important tenants. Recommend for both beginners and professionals!

I enjoyed learning from this book, it's clear and user-friendly. I would consider this one of my favorite reads along with other authors like Steve Krug, Jesse James Garrett and Eric Ries. Levy does a great job of clearly explaining among many others, the differences between business strategy and UX strategy and design, which is highly informative and essential for still a relatively new industry. This should be an great addition to any library collection of designers, innovators, rebels and disruptors alike.

Jaime Levy has written a fantastic book that shows you how to not only reach, but also to grab and hold the user's attention from a business, design, and user's point of view. It's great for a beginner like myself, and clearly contains enough advanced material for the more experienced business persons and designers to make it worthwhile for them. If you are looking for a business and UX book to help you provide your users a greater experience and to get them to take more action, this book is for you. 4.8/5 stars.

I am reading this book and working on my business idea recently. I found this book extremely useful because it not only talks about building products, but also talks about the business strategy behind it. Because if you don't know how to get customers, no matter how awesome your ideas are, you will not make any revenue. This book taught me to become more than just a product designer! 100% recommended!

I read this book for my UX design immersive course back in Oct 2015. It REALLY informed my learning and professional practices going forward. She presents the needed strategies to provide killer UX and business strategy in a very accessible way. Jaime's voice rings out loud and clear through the test and feels alot like being walked through the process by a friend/mentor.

Definitely something I will reference back to often.

As an entrepreneur involved also in product development, I understood better the role of the UX Lead on a strategic level. This book helps to understand the UX as a strategic differentiator and a crucial liaison between stakeholders, product management, marketing, design and development team. It fits perfectly with the Lean philosophy and methodology.

A great resource for getting and sticking to the bigger picture for professional UXers who (like myself) often find themselves distracted by arguments like "Should we use radio buttons or a dropdown here?". I am glad we chose this book for our local UX Book Club in Berlin where Jaime was also happy to answer all kinds of questions from our community.

Jamie has caught my attention in the early nineties with her Cyberpunk themed interactive artwork. Since then she never stopped growing and this book is a testament for her progress. If you have not seen her speak or read her insights yet, it's not too late!

It's really an amazing book. The book emphasizes on user validated learning. It helped our team to build a prototype in no time. The important take away is never waste time building a product no one wants. When you are done with all the exercises given in the book, you would have enough data to decide whether to persevere or pivot from the idea. I would recommend this book to all the startups.
