I have been full time in the real estate business since 1956. This, without a doubt, is one of the best books ever written, concerning real estate. It is not only good for the new person entering real estate, or thinking about entering, it is also excellent for those that have been practicing for a good number of years. I purchased a book for each of my agents and we reviewed it page by page in subsequent Staff Meetings.

In addition I have purchased several to give away to potential agents. I want them to know what is required to be successful in this business.

Dirk Zeller presents valauble information in this quick and easy to read book. There are no "secrets" in this book. You will find real world information that will make a positive impact on your career whether you are a brand new agent or have a few transactions under your belt. This book will help you combat counterproductive activites and manage your time more effectively. I have two years experience in the business and still found this book invaluable. If you want to avoid the traps that can rob you of success this book is for you. Avoid negativity. Realize your full potential! You can get there from here!

I just completed Dirk Zeller's book, Your First Year in Real Estate. I found this book to be the comprehensive learning tool any new or seasoned agent could benefit from. Dirk lays a foundation of basic real estate principles and techniques every agent should institute daily. He then takes you on a journey, advancing you thru the various real estate markets step by step, with the knowledge and skills of a pro. By following these practical lessons any agent, novice or seasoned, can graduate themselves to what I deem will separate the "Top Performers" from the average agent. This book should be hailed "The Real Estate Agents Bible for Success".

This book along with some training classes taken at your local Real Estate offices can be the backbone for your new career! I wouldn't devote 100% into the books "SCRIPTS" on how to talk to potential clients because in this day and age there are to many different cultures and everyone sees things diffently when expressed to them in language. Just take the "SCRIPTS" as references and make your own judgement on how things should be said and you will do well. Everything else in this book is of great value for knowledge of the business and trying to get ahead of the "Novice Realtors". Highly recommend for any newbie Realtor out there!

I purchased this book just prior to taking my real estate test and beginning my new career. It has helped tremendously and everything I have tried that was recommended has worked! The information is well laid out and presented in a format that is easy to follow and understand. Now, after being in this business for 6 months I have re-read the book and have picked up even more. I have recommended this book to others just starting out in their career and recommend it to anyone interested in beginning a career in real estate.

I absolutely love this book! It gave me insights to this field that I didn't even know existed. I have been contemplating entering the real estate "world" and after reading this book, I have decided to give this a try.
His words are extremely motivating and his tone is up beat the entire time.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in becoming a real estate agent, you won't be disappointed!

I am pleased that I purchased this book. The first two chapters have already benefited me tremendously. I used Dirk's techniques to interview with three companies before making my decision as to who to place my license with. I hope everyone finds this book as beneficial as I did as a new agent. I also enjoy that it is a very easy to read and understand text. I will buy the remainder of Dirk's books in the future.

Dirk assumes all the readers of this book are women and everyone you work for is a woman. I don't know if this was an error with him or his editor but it's annoying AF that he assumes the reader is a woman when he refers to you in this book.

This book as a lot of personal insider experiences. I was looking for more information on what to do my first day, how to do it, and how to gauge your success or failure.
Overall, this is a good overview of the profession and what to expect. It is filled with pointers on success: Self motivation and discipline, training, and building relationships.

I recently attended a meeting where Dirk Zeller was the keynote speaker. As excellent as his talk was, his book is even better. As a new real estate agent, I was floundering in all the unknowns--it is one of those professions where you are thrown in and expected to swim (or sink). This book has made a tremendous difference to me, and I expect it would for any new agent.

Dirk Zeller does a remarkable job in setting the stage for the roles played in the career of Real Estate. As a new agent, it's quite overwhelming. With so much to learn and without divine coaching, one can become distraught. Thanks to Zeller's educational and professional strategies for those who want to suceed in this career, I'm on my way to professional success!

Great book! ... It set in motion the development of my plan on how to become one of the best real estate agents in Dallas. I have since attended tele-seminars giving by Dirk and it's first class. He truly inspires agents, new and old. As a new agent I have learned soo much from Real Estate Champions, Dirk's company. I know this book ... will help me excel as a real estate agent. I highly recommend this book to any agent that want to kick their practice into higher gear -new or old.

Mr. Zeller's book offers great insight and motivation for those new to the real estate profession. I read it cover to cover in a day and plan on reading it several times over. Only 2 months into my career, I felt like he was describing the very things I'm going through right now. I highly recommend this book!

Contains great insight on finding the right company and focusing on improving yourself. Good information about avoiding common pitfalls. Some decent tips on financial independence. Overall mostly a motivational book.

I purchased this book plus the "21 things" your broker never told you book several years ago at the store. I enjoyed both books, though the gaping hole in their advice is filled like like the height of the Hoover Dam! by the best books on real estate computations imaginable for anyone in real estate or appraisal or just wanting to see more and know more about time value of money calculations using one or another of the Hewlett Packard financial calculators, the HP-12C and the HP 17BII. I bought Mr. Tirone's books--though I hear his HP-17BII book is out of print at this time?--from the store. let me say that all of us in the office were amazed by the thorough and very cost effective book from Mr. Tirone on the HP12C used in real estate, "Professional Real Estate Problem Solving Using the HP 12C".

Yes, we do mostly selling and hunting for listings in residential and to an extent in comemrcial real estate. But, we are lacking at times in our understanding of the flow of numbers through a real estate situation. Here is where the gap is plugged times ten by Mr. Tirone's real estate calculations books. His work is based, he has told me and it jumps from his example in his book, directly from things he taught many real estate agents and brokers and consultants in his seminars. The books should be mandaatory reading and study for all serious real estate professionals, and they are mandatory study in our company here in New York State.

It is difficult to make a quick transition from a novice to a seasoned pro, but it can be done and you need all the help possible: a great broker; good books on the field; and you need some serious help where calculations are concerned. all are available from this great company, the store.com.

best wishes to all of you.

I was mislead by other reviews. This book does not address the real issues or addresses it superficially. This book contais lots of text without useful information, focus on generalities and repeats its contents very often. The useful information does not fill an A4 sheet.
Online reviews seem to be very dangerous for buyers.

Experienced agents definitely don't need this book. New agents probably shouldn't buy it either - the advice in it is very basic, probably something that the office manager tells you anyway. It covers everything from the surface but does not explain anything in detail.

Being brand new in the real estate world, this book has leap started my career. In the first two months that I have been selling, I have had 4 closings. I owe it all to this book. It teaches you whats important and how to compete with seasoned agents. This book is also a very easy read. I highly recomend it.

The book is overly simplistic and aasumes the reader has absolutly no common sense. I see little useful information here. The book lacks the detail anyone would be looking for entering into the resl estate business.
