This is an excellent book. Not only are the lessons outlined clearly and supported by solid examples. You learn much about what Lincoln had to deal with in his life and the multitude of challenges he faced once in the office of President of the United States.

The book is a quick read with chunks that can easily be digested. Mr. Phillips provides a nice format for both learning and understanding. This is a must read if you want to learn valuable lessons and tactics for leading or if you are just a fan of this great President.

This is a very easy read. Really enjoyed the descriptions of Lincolns' use of story to have difficult conversations. This is a well documented approach that Lincoln was a master at. Found many of the techniques to be very relevant for todays managers. Would highly recommend this volume be part of any leadership library.

Exceptional book, easy to read, great illustrations from the life of Abraham Lincoln.
I was able to take away thoughts and guidance that will stay with me for years to come.
You know it's a good book when it holds a mirror up to your life and then gives you a vision for what you can become by implementing clear steps that were outlined at the end of each chapter.

Philips pieces together keys to Lincoln's leadership style brilliantly in this book. He uses several good examples to illustrate his points and summarizes reach chapter well at the end. Great for anyone interested in improving their leadership skills.

I have always been fascinated by Abraham Lincoln and his presidency. I saw this book in the gift shop at Ford's Theatre and then purchased it for my Kindle reader. The author has done a very good job of highlighting Lincoln's leadership skills and discussing their relevancy today as we try to interact effectively with others. It's a very useful as well as interesting and entertaining book.

While Phillips describes Lincoln, style and techniques well, the kindle version of the text is riddled with errors and typos, making certain sections nearly unreadable. Others, read literally, convey sentiments that seem the opposite of the author's intent. The effect is frustrating.

I just downloaded the Kindle edition and was looking forward to reading this book--I have had a lot of people recommend it to me. So far, and I am in a good way, I am enjoying the content, but have rarely had so many typos in a Kindle edition. So frustrating. "Untied States", not instead of note, There were at least 6, maybe more, in the first two chapters.

Again, I love the content...

I just received this book yesterday and I have been glued to it. You hear a lot about Lincoln throughout school, but this is an entirely different look at his life with an unprecedented look at how he came to the decisions that made him the most popular president in US history. If you are at all interested in learning a little more about Lincoln or if you want to gain some insight for leadership opportunities in your own future, I strongly recommend this book.

The book was very interesting. I consider myself a leader and i found this book very helpful in giving me certain aspects to look at when trying to develop my leadership skills. Anyone who considers themselves to be a leader should read this book. Not necessarily to copy his style but to take pieces from his qualities.

Qualities that made Lincoln a great leader should be followed by management today. This book could be used as a guideline as to how to coach people, manage policies, and (for me) control personal emotions (especially anger).

Keeping the country intact was Lincoln's major goal and this book concisely lists the obstacles he overcame to accomplish this. If you want to read about leadership strategies, this is a great book.
If you are interested in Lincoln and the Civil War era, then it should be an essential part of your library that should be read over annually.

This a great and very valuable book that presents many different scenarios leaders face on a daily basis. The advice given is centered around how Abe Lincoln, one of the greatest leaders in our history handled similar situations. I learned a lot from this book, both about leadership and also about Lincoln.

This little book is rich in character trait examples that President Lincoln demostrated during his incredible life. I use this book as the text for a class of business and professional men in my church. We study leadership and character as it relates to our faith and daily lives in business, in our families and all those we encounter. This book in an excellent source on information that is relevant to everyones circumstances.

This is a good read with many thought-provoking, challenging and useful insights. It is also filled with typographical and spelling errors. Even the "corrected" version has distracting mistakes. One would expect more from the publishers of this book. I would give it more stars if there were fewer mistakes.

Many leaders need to learn the ways of previous leaders. A. Lincoln proved as a legacy that tenacity isn't bad, nor must it be rude to others. He was steadfast in his convictions & consistently worked with perseverance.
