Curtis Stone is such a sensible, modern cook who creates delicious and nutritious meals and this cookbook does not disappoint. Beautifully photographed. Many approachable, realistic recipes inside. (Some cookbook authors must not live in the real world, but Curtis does and it shows in this cook book.) It makes me want to cook to look at the recipes inside.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! I bought this book based on early reviews, and am horribly disappointed. It is going back. I am an avid cook, and have close to 1,000 cookbooks from all over the world. I find this book boring, and uninspiring. The photos don't help, as they are mostly dark and b r o w n; with the exception of a couple of drinks, that a child could make. In today's world of high tech, I believe the photos should be of the same standard as 'Southern Living' magazine, or better. I also believe that in a cookbook, the photos should be of the food, or preparation, NOT of the author's baby and wife. Those belong in the family section. In a cookbook, I look for fresh, exciting recipes that inspire me to rush into the kitchen. I want bright photos, whether elegant or homely. I want to learn something new, enriching. This is the first cookbook I have ever returned, in all the years, and thousands of dollars spent at the store. BUT..... I'm replacing it with Country Cooking of Greece, River Cottage Veg, Love Italian Food, and Stella's Sephardic Table. I shall be excitedly cooking up a storm for weeks to come, and I can't wait.

I ADORE this cookbook! Clearly, Curtis Stone likes to eat - his dishes are not only delicious but easy to prepare and the instructions are clear, containing great tips. I can't recommend this book enough. Classic Meatloaf is the best I've had and the various vinaigrettes and sauces are wonderful.

This book has quickly become my favorite. I got this book a few weeks ago as I was feeling like I was in a food rut. I have already made several of the recipes and I can honestly say I would make everything in here. A few of these will definitely become part of my regular meal rotation.
I find the recipes simple, the time estimates accurate and the tips helpful. And most importantly, the food is delicious! Even my 8 month old is happily enjoying the food!
This one is definitely a winner. Unlike the many cookbooks I have sitting on shelves, this one is destined to become stained and worn, as a good cookbook should be!

Curtis Stone makes cooking appetizing to the eyes as it is to the tummy.
His style is simple, down to earth, and approachable yet still provides elegance without letting the flavor suffer. Thanks Mr. Stone!

I haven't graduated to the weekend dishes, but the weekday recipes are exactly as advertised -- Delicious Recipes for a Busy Life!!! Before this book, dinner consisted of deli sandwiches, cereal, or frozen pizza. I've worked up to about 3 home-cooked meals per week now. The recipes are easy to follow and don't contain weird products that you have to drive all over town trying to find. My favorite so far is the Spaghetti with garlic, lemon, kale and parmesan, though I'm really excited to try the sliders with red onion marmalade and blue cheese.

Gorgeous photography accompanies easy to read and follow recipes. Always a consideration in selecting cookbooks. Inspiration for the daily question "What's for dinner?" can be found on almost any page. Ingredients are simple, fresh, nutritious and easy to find. A well stocked pantry can cover most recipes in the book. There are some great comfort foods like chicken pot pie with winter vegetables that my 10 year old son asked be the first recipe I make from the book. I'm looking forward to sampling the salted caramel pots de creme as well as his mums sticky toffee ice cream. This book will be used over and over to prepare great meals for my family. Thanks for another great cooking reference!
