Love it. I bought this on preorder before it was even released. I wanted one for every woman I know, but started with just one for my mom, the person who taught me to be a proud woman and feminist. She loved it, I loved it, and I'll be ordering more for not only the adult women in my life, but for my young niece too. I learned about so few women during my history classes, that I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't even know some of the women in this book. I love that it covers women from throughout American history, in a well-written, beautifully illustrated way. It's also 100% pro-woman with 0% man-bashing, which is really what feminism is all about. In fact, I'll be reading it to my son when he's older. EVERYONE can benefit from reading this book and learning about the strong, intelligent, passionate women in US history. There should be more books like this.

This book should be in every school library. These women's lives, both the famous and infamous, are a perfect place to begin research and to
spark interest in women's history. For any serious feminist with an interest in our foremothers this is a must.

terrific book and great illustrations. Which they didnt use Rad in the title it sounds so dated. American Women A - Z wold have been fine. Many women I have never heard of who were influential and importatnt to american history.
Purple, Green and Yellow :: Ragtime (Penguin Modern Classics) :: When Will There Be Good News?: (Jackson Brodie) :: Sharia Law for Non-Muslims (A Taste of Islam) :: Smelly Socks

This was a gift. However, everyone knows children's gifts are as much about impressing the parents as helping the kids become responsible people and I won this round. This was actually for my ex's niece (we are still close and she is three) I look forward to having some great discussions with her, prompted by this book, in the future. Currently, the grown-ups, are enjoying learning about women we have never heard of.

When she gets a little older (like ten) we will probably move on to something more Economics focused.

Love this book. I wish I could purchase individual copies for each of my granddaughters. Everyone mentioned in the book from Angela Davis to Malala will spark conversations with your daughters and your sons about women and their contributions to history. I found the choice of Angela Davis to be particularly enlightening in view of the current climate of politics and protests in America.

I purposely try to buy my daughter books and movies that show strong women doing amazing things. She is 3 and is slightly young for this book but it's written in such a great format that we can both appreciate it. Each page has the name of the woman it is about and a heading the summarizes what the woman did. I can get my daughter through the whole book just by pointing out the most exciting points of what each woman did. We've only had the book since Christmas and she already knows who Bessie Coleman is, which is amazing to me!

Excellent book! Great and easily digestible content, strong visual layout and illustrations with above average production quality (paper/binding/cover/printing). Most successful Xmas gift to my 11 year old niece yet!

This book is awesome. The art and design compliments the stories beautifully and I am so excited to share it with my 9-year-old. The type of things these women have accomplished are already hot topics in our house so I love that we can use this format to teach and learn more.

I bought this for kids in my life (nephews, cousins, bosses' kids) and I've gotten positive feedback -- mostly from the parents. My impression is that the kids think it's okay but the parents are really excited to have a book like this to share. The illustrations are great and hopefully we can get more books like this to our kids!

Rad American Women A-Z: Rebels, Trailblazers, and Visionaries who Shaped Our History . . . and Our Future! (City Lights/Sister Spit)
Definitely a good book to give to a young person as a gift. I would've liked the descriptions of each "rad women" to have been a little more detailed (not that I was expecting an "adult" read), but they did include an interesting and diverse list of women. These things considered, I would consider it necessary reading for a pre-teen. It would definitely add something to what (little) mainstream education teaches in terms of "important" historical women figures. I read it through and gave it to a niece (about 12 years old) and she loved the cover & illustrations. I think the fact that it looked "cool" convinced her to read it (above & beyond my suggestion). It even inspired her to research further some of the women included in the list, and it made me extremely happy to see her discover things on her own (outside of mandatory school work)!
