The Best Seat in Second Grade (I Can Read Level 2)

Purchased for a 2nd grader, and it was the perfect reading level for him. Being all boy, he wasn't much into reading but really enjoyed reading a chapter to me each night. He liked the story and I plan on using similar books to get him to read more.

I purchased this book for my seven year old, after seeing it on our school's recommended list for young readers. My son really enjoyed the book, and was eager to give it five stars. He thought it was funny, and told me that he's planning to read it again.

Our grandson is in second grade and his favorite books are Betty Birney's books about Humphrey the Hamster. He has all of that series now so when I saw this book about a second grader and his attachment to the classroom pet Hamster, I thought it would be a good "add-on" book to his Humphrey series. Our grandson loves the book and can also read it himself. The Humphrey books are still a little difficult for him to read.

I love these series. But most important that my son does. I got 40+ books and he loves to read them (usually it is not that easy to make him read). I got mix of 2-3-4 levels for the second grader, second level is too easy, but it creates some fun and he reads them with pleasure. Love it, I would recommend it.

I bought this for my 8 year-old grandson, because he'll be entering 2nd grade in the Fall. We read it together (with my help on only a few difficult words) and he really liked the story. The story has the class visiting the Natural History Museum, which I think is great. I bought a membership to our local museum so we could go as often as we like, so we have our own adventures there.

I asked my daughter before buying this for one of my grandsons - I was afraid it might give him ideas.....my daughter assured me he could probably come up with those ideas on his own and not to worry!
