Nonnie, recently divorced from a loser husband and unsatisfying vanilla sex, encounters a sexy Dom in a nightclub. It opens her up to the possibility of BDSM but also her uncertainties. The first book starts her journey.

No romance (yet) and the characters are not fully developed yet but true to the status of Nonnie's self-discovery and the reclusive, private nature of the two Doms interested in Nonnie

Well written and edited. I normally don't like stories which require the purchase of the next book (available now and not six months so you're waiting) for closure but liked this one. I will read more from this author.

That was fan-freaking-tastic. Excellent characters, hot scene full of sexiness. Getting into the lead character's head as she decides to try out the BDSM lifestyle was superb, and she wasn't a pushover about it.

The first book was "free" so heck nothing to lose, right? from the first few pages I was hooked and LOVED IT. The complete set was purchased before finishing The Businessman's Tie.
The story flowed wonderfully. It has been sometime since I have read a book that has kept in glued to the pages as this one has. Will admit that some parts were the same old, read a million times, but that was A OK with me. The full review is listed at The Power to Please box set. Great job Deena Ward.

Nice, very nice read. I wish this book finished out with happen with "The Playboy" and then "The Businessman". I do think it's a good representation of the life of newly single women. Good read, would have been five stars but I wanted more.

Let's see... where to start. The book was written in first person, from Nonnie's point of view. Starting out, her character was fine. Recent divorcee out on the town, meet's sexy Guy A and has some shady bar sex. Then it starts going down hill. A week after that, she goes to 'sex club' with some random chick, meets Guy B, and does more crazy sex stuff,

I don't live the lifestyle, but through my research I KNOW a Dom/sub relationship is a power exchange. A contract with hard and soft limits. There's some discussion before any of the crazy sexcapades and there's never any. There were punishments, belt beatings from Guy B,(Even though she told Guy B 'I'm not looking for a beating' he does it anyway. Charmer.), and huge black dildo usage without her consent from Guy A. And that dildo hurt her, she was screaming and not in the good way. But it's all good because Guy A sexed her up and apologized later. Oh, and it was her fault because she shouldn't think she deserves a reward for pleasing him, EVEN THOUGH NONE OF THIS WAS DISCUSSED.

For a woman who's suppose to be strong and independent, Nonnie's easily manipulated, used and abused. These men treat her horribly, but it's all covered up by other's saying 'he likes you, he keeps talking about you, blah'.

Augh. I'm glad this was free. Only my time was wasted.

As clergyman Charles Colten stated, "Imitation is the highest form of flattery." If so, would Jane Austin be proud? Deena Ward (DW) uses Jane Austin's book, Pride and Prejudice, as a basis for her book, The Businessman's Tie. Unfortunately, DW's book does not come close. The main male character is Gibson (the businessman). He plays Mr. Darcy and his step brother, Thomas, plays the George Wickham character. Gibson is always trying to right all Thomas' wrongs as does Mr Darcy with Wickham.

The main female character is Nonnie Crawford who starts out smart but half way through, shows she has an IQ of zero. Too bad. The sex scenes are interesting only sometimes. There are sections where Nonnie is abused by Thomas. (I skipped those parts.) I guess what I would like is strong and smart females, good writing that is sexy. I suspect I'm asking for too much. This book is just okay.

The Businessman's Tie was an amazingly sexy book. It tells the story of Nonnie and her introduction to the world of bdsm. The storyline was interesting and the sex scenes were HOT. I liked the fact that this story wasn't just some sex scenes thrown together...it had a plot, drew you into the story, and had good character development.
If you enjoy bdsm or are interested in learning more about the bdsm lifestyle, then this story is for you.

The Businessman's Tie was a passable read. While some have criticized the way the author demands that the reader suspend their disbelief, this is, after all a sexual fantasy book. Realism is not required. . I have two objections to the book.

Number one: It is written in the first person. For those of us who wish to immerse ourselves with the protagonist and "step into their skin" as it were, first person writing prevents this. One is forced to be the protagonist's best friend sitting in the coffee shop listening to her BFF's tale of woe, or joy instead. If you aren't into first person novels, forget this one.

Numer two: The author does not give us a complete tale. The author calls the book one is a series...what a lovely euphemism for "I'm going to leave you hanging at the end of this book to try an force you to pay a lot of money to see how it all turns out." Sadly I find the first book resistible enough to forgo paying money to see how it ends.

Thanks, but no thanks.

Give me a writer like Chloe Cox who gives me an entire story in each book including the initial freebie. Now, there's an author who believes in herself, her talent and in her readers. Her Club Volare Series is enjoyable, and I don't mind paying to read more of her work

Think about it, author, when you write your next set of novels.

Next time, perhaps you'll call your novels SERIAL novels? Then we'll know that you plan to leave us hanging.
