Resisting the Boss (Mid Life Love Series Book 1)

This was actually a really good book. The characters were beautifully matched, but so much was pushed aside. Can't really say without giving away too many details, sorry. I've got to read the next installment to see where this goes.

Claire was happily married or so she thought ! Until she was betrayed by her husband and best friend . Forced to start a new life with her twin sixteen year old daughters.Claire went 4 years without a man in her life and she was dealing with the anger of being betrayed so badly .Jonathon is succesful billionaire who gets a glimps of Claire one night after a dinner meeting .He discovers she works in his marketing department and starts to pursue relentlessly with so much resistance on Claires part . Without giving too much away Claire struggles with her insecurites and her being eleven years older doesn't help matters .
I loved the love/ sex scenes it seemed build their relationship stronger .

I took a chance on this book because the synopsis hooked me in......I was so glad I did. I love this little series (I downloaded the 2nd one and read it immediately following this one) and look forward to reading the other books from Whitney. I love mocha Mondays from her website and recommend everyone visiting that sight AFTER you read both books! You will not be disappointed with this book........

Yes even when your husband leaves you for your best friend and you think your love life is over you can get a second chance with a hunk who just happens to be 12 years your Junior and your boss. Loved it. You will too

I really enjoyed the story of this book. Though it involves a younger man with an older woman, it's classically told. It ventures away from the adage of "cougar" and just shows a vital attraction between two consenting adults. If the rolls were reversed in this story the woman would be looked at as a "gold" digger with one lucky old fart. First from this author, but definitely not my last. Well done!

Because there were just five stars would have rated a ten. Like everything about the story line and fell in love with the characters . Thanks for writing this book. Really liked everything about it. If i had to pick the one thing , the twin daughter were perfectly sassy and fit perfect with story line. I have never left a review before but i have read thousands of books in my forty six years of reading. So , please know that i am pleased with your book. Again luv it !!!! And thank you for making me laugh and cry and enjoy .

Ok this is officially my new favorite book and author. I loved how she kept me involved with every character in the story.It was definitely a page turner and I was sorry that it had to end. I will definitely be reading it again. I'm definitely going to be downloading the next book asap. Would recommend this book to all you women who don't think a younger man can handle business, read the book

Finally something really worth my time! For the past 20 or so books I've read, from similar genres, this has been the best. I finally got back to really reading the sex scenes instead of skipping them all together. The story was beautifully written, a new theme for me, and at no point I felt the need to beat Claire up.

This book was FANTASTIC!! Read it, read it, read it!!! Some serious HOT SEX and a lot of it. Jonathan and Claire cannot, absolutely cannot keep their hands off of each other and are doing it constantly. I am now a fan of this author and will most definitely read more of her work. Seriously, if you want hot sex with a hot man and a good story, check this one out...it's fan-flippin-tastic!!!!

I loved Jonathan. Younger but so mature. More mature than Claire who is a mom and divorced. I found her to be childish. But the story smoldered and worked for me because of Jonathan and how good he was. Claire was afraid. Read it. You will enjoy it.

Jonathan is sexy, rich, seemingly perfect in every way. Unfortunately, he behaves like a toddler making insane demands. His love interest is ridiculously immature . The book is easy to read, but more than mildly unrealistic.

Absolutely LOVED this book. It's funny, steamy, and a great story. Thoroughly enjoyed this read. Fabulous characters and story. You just HAVE to read this one, you will not be disappointed! One of the best romances I've read this year.

Usually romance novels are on the shorter side, but this one isn't and I love it. I feel Claire's hesitancy in being in a relationship with such a younger man. I wish it wouldn't have taken her so long to at least be public but the ending was perfect.

Whitney Gracia Williams did an excellent job with Mid Life Love, which in my opinion is an incredibly well written book. I will admit to more then a few moments of wanting to jerk Jonathan's overbearing chain around, but he was the alpha male and seemed out to prove he was top alpha/jerk. I'd highly recommend this book to any romance reader."

Freaking awesome book. I have read this one back to back and will keep this one on my kindle and never remove it!! Love that it was about a 40 year (young) old woman. The author did a great job developing this story and keeping in mind how a woman of Claire's age would feel about being a "cougar". Don't miss this one!!

Although I really did enjoy this book, there were times I really wanted to hit Claire to knock some sense in her. She played around a little to much with her own emotions and yes I know she is still hurt but she wasn't really my favorite character. I did however love Jonathan and hated Ryan with a passion!! Great book that caused me to buy the next one!

This book contains one of the most infuriating heroines. This woman was a piece of work. She was cynical, pessimistic, mean, rude, cruel, catty, dishonest, selfish, insensitive, self serving, insecure, cold, harsh, and she was a liar. She took, but rarely gave. The relationship between her and the hero was so lopsided. There was limited, if any, reciprocity in the relationship. The hero, was swoon worthy! He was optimistic, kind, loving, caring, selfless, sensitive, secure, honest, sexy, strong, etc. He repeatedly took the heroines nonsense...he kept taking the beating and getting back up and going for more. The heroine treated the hero as if she were embarrassed by him and he was not worthy. Honestly, I felt as if the heroine deserved to be throttled. She definitely did not deserve to have the hero and that kind of love. I get her past...I do. BUT, the hero didn't do that to her. He proved, repeatedly, that he would NEVER treat her in such a manner, let alone hurt her. I understand her being guarded and a bit jaded, but she was downright CRUEL to the hero. The entire book was like this...not 50% with some reprieve but the WHOLE BOOK! The ending was nothing to write home about. You would think, after the entire book being about the heroine treating the hero like garbage and fighting him every step of their "relationship," that we would at least get a noteworthy conclusion. NOPE...DID NOT. So, that leaves me to read the next book because I purchased them both at the same time. If the second is a bad as this one, I will not complete the read.

The billionaire boss/boyfriend has been overdone these past three years . . I get that but WOW this might be the best one yet. I thought it was head and shoulders better than Day's and James' seemingly never ending BBB sagas. The writing was sharp and funny, at times incredibly sexual and erotic . .a great romance.

Was a great story - one where you can understand Claire and her worries about dating a younger man. Jonathan was a honey.
If you looking for a book with lots of sex - then this is the one. At the same time you feel the emotions of both the characters, with a few other interesting players thrown into the plot.

I loved the development of these characters. Claire is strong, but yet so insecure that it frustrated me at times. Jonathan...he's just hot and a man you want in your life through and through. Now, his mother and Vanessa, they are a completely different story. This sweet romance is filled with humor & some hot lovin' you won't want to miss!

Loved it! The story was engrossing, sexy, a little angsty and a lot of fun. I have read a few May-December romance books that didn't keep my interest but this one was in a class by it's self. The author is so talented, she mixes the fantasy with just enough reality to make it believable. I can't say enough good things about this book. It's simple wonderful. Thanks Whitney G, keep writing and we'll keep reading.

Okay, honestly I felt an instant connection with this book. Why? Because I just turned 40 and have twins tween-aged daughters...see the similarities?!? I was sucked in immediately and felt a familiar connection with Claire. I loved her sassy "I hate my job" attitude and that she doesn't back down, she is feisty! Jonathan (another similarity in my life) is determined and will NOT take no for an answer...oh and did I forget to mention that he is the 28-year old CEO of Statham Industries who also happens to be smokin' hot!?! Swoon... The chemistry between them is instant, but Claire is hesitant due to her age and how she was betrayed by her ex-husband (Ryan the ass) and best friend. I loved that Jonathan just took over and pushed himself (literally) onto her. The storyline kept my attention and brought me to tears a few times. I really connected with the characters and storyline on a personal level and found myself utterly frustrated with Claire several times! This is a hot read with a great plot and the characters will make you smile, laugh, curse and hate them...a few secondary characters make my skin crawl! While you get your HEA...you finish wanting more...more...MORE!! I high recommend this read and hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Whitney did an amazing job...kudos!!!
