The maestro of metaphor presents a clear concise biting review as well rebuke of the political landscape. Lacking the time energy and ability to read books, I prefer to while away the mind-numbing hours I spend in my car listening to books. This audio made those mind-numbing hours pass like a (no, I'll leave the hip classy biting metaphors to Greg). The guy is brilliant and his monologues are always right on point and never without surprises. He's one of the few, or perhaps the only one of the current batch of talking heads I'd like to have a beer with, or in Greg's case a couple bottles of wine. Alas, I have nothing to offer him. I'd boor him to baby tears. But I'd love to pick his brain over the workings of his twisted yet overtly coherent mind. Oh wait, we do have one commonality besides a mutual admiration of him. We are both married to younger Russian beauties named Elena. Both of whom married well below their league out of sympathy.

This collection is from 2013 to 2015 time-frame and it is amazing how right Gutfeld was in many of his observations, whether about Obama or Clinton or Trump. His "looking back" edits are very informative. and down right funny. We shouldn't have to wait so long for the next edition 2015-2018.

I’m still listening but have enjoyed this very much so far. The audio book has two readers and an interrupting style that took a minute to get used to but I like it now. This is humorous and makes me think at the same time. I recommend it

Greg Gutfeld's nightly appearances on Fox News Channel's The Five and his weekend show, The Greg Gutfeld show, are some of the most entertaining news commentary bits on TV today. Gutfeld defies categories, abounds in strongly held (and strongly worded) opinions, and, most of the time, makes a whole lot of sense. But above all that, he's hilarious to watch and listen to.
In The Gutfeld Monologues: Classic Rants from The Five, Gutfeld collects several years' worth of his monologues, splits them up topically, adds some commentary and updates, and calls it a book. If you know Gutfeld at all, you won't be surprised by his takes on law and order, Islamic terror, Hollywood, or the environment. It's fun to see how his opinions have aged on issues and events that were in the news during the Obama administration. (Hint: they've aged well.)
Gutfeld's perspectives are reliably conservative, but not necessarily lockstep. Clearly he opposed Obama and, while he was not a big fan of Trump, since the election he's been largely supportive of Trump's administration. But what makes Gutfeld and The Gutfeld Monologues unique and fun to read is his self-deprecating humor, his random bon mots, and his silly turns of phrase. Sometimes his jokes are a bit nonsensical, but that's his style.
A few random examples:
"The last time I got my hands dirty was April 3, 2005. I can't get into the actual circumstance, because it involved a bucket of voles and a chinchilla."
"If you want to make something sexy, try to ban it. It's why I started eating Tide Pods once everyone was saying they were bad for you."
"Imagine if Hillary had won. We'd have to hear from these idiots [Hollywood leftists] every single day. Wait. Trump won. And we still have to hear from these idiots every single day. That's America!"
I could go on, but you should just read the book.
Gutfeld loves to point out silliness, expose hypocrisy, and shut down idiocy on the left. He does it all with a smile (or maybe a sneer) and with little reluctance to offend. He doesn't take himself too seriously, which is a perfect attitude in the current climate of political absurdity.

I have enjoyed Greg's hilarious and insightful "zaps" on The Five and love the raucous Greg Gutfield show. This book is the perfect accompaniment. Whenever I despair of the 24/7 political insanity, I can pick up this book, to any page, to find humor and a bit of equallibrium.
We have lost humor in the last decade. Late night talk show hosts have become parrots of talking points, each one trying to be edgier than the next. Greg brings back lightheartedness, parody the way it should be done, not by name calling or vicious personal attacks. Reading this book makes me feel like I'm chatting with a wonderful wise and witty pal.
Thanks Greg!

I bought the audio edition, and was so disappointed that Greg doesn’t read his own monologues. The intro is awesome, because he reads it.
I am a huge fan of Gutfeld. He is the comical voice of reason in a hysterical world. I think he underestimated the value and power of his own voice. The narrator is flat and expressionless (compared to Greg). I found myself thinking about other things because I just tuned out with the other narrator's voice. I’d rather read the book and at least be able to hear Gutfeld’s voice ranting in my head!
I'm sure I will give his book 5 stars; his monologues are so poignant.
