Anyone who follows Bill O'Reilly will appreciate what makes him tick after reading this book. It is articulate, humorous, nostalgic all wrapped into one. The content is equally appropriate for young and old.

So much wit and wisdom..You will remember the old America and the fun and the simple days. What a chuckle it will bring to you.
O'Reilly is a lot more humble than he appears on TV and is also a gifted communicator.

Extremely enjoyable. I can relate to this book as I had a similar upbringing. Unfortunately I'm not as fortunate as Mr. O'Reilly but I wouldn't change a thing. Reading this book reminds me of sister Joanice and sister Paulinus. They were very influential in my Catholic upbringing.

Well written and interesting. Some episodes from Mr. O'Reilly's life are almost carbon copies of any Catholic school surviver's stories. Extremely funny in places. Often misunderstood because of his prowess in a debate, O'Reilly is probably a pussycat at home. A dose of his passion for fairness would do us all some good. He explains clearly where he is coming from in this book...and it's a good place for America to visit and stay awhile.

I purchased patroits & pinheads first elsewhere, I did not know I could get it here, besides, I was not an the store.com customer yet.
Now, for this book. I loved it. I like Bill O'Reilly's writing style. The thing I really admire is the fact that he keeps no revenue from all the books he writes, he donates everything to places such as: Wounded Warriors, and all kinds of other charities. Did you know this? The book is well written. It tells all about what a brat he was as a child, and, all the trouble he caused everyone he came into contact with, especially, the poor Nuns putting up with him at the Catholic school he attended. This book is funny, and, an absolutally must buy. What a charater is was, and, still is! I would buy this book again, and, probally will for Christmas gifts. There is nothing I would have wanted to know about this book before I purchased it, because, I read all of the good and not so good reviews, before I make my own decision whether to buy something or not. Everyone needs to be doing this on their own, so, they are not disappointed with any product when they get their own copies.
Sincerely,

Bill O'Reilly...love him or hate him. However, it helps to have real information before making the decision. This can be obtained by listening to his radio program, watching his television show, that is, really watching it, or reading his book. What his book will give you is a look back at how America was during the time he was growing up and the influences that shaped him.

O'Reilly is a boomer, born in 1949, the same year as my brother. If you are anywhere near this age (I'm two years older), the book will jog your memory of just how different times were then. My husband, a fan of O'Reilly's, actually didn't want to read the book. I passed it around to three others before him; when he read it, he was thoroughly entertained and surprised because O'Reilly grew up within 50 miles of him. Like other reviewers have indicated, O'Reilly has managed to keep this book on a simultaneously personal/impersonal basis; that is, he has maintained his privacy but still shared part of his life.

He's an interesting guy, but at times you think....that's not the person he appears to be on TV. His religious views are strange, he will not entertain an other opinion but the one he's made, it appears. Maybe all Catholics feel that way, but I haven't run into them. He gives you the opinion that he thinks pretty highly of himself, and he knows it. He's at the top, but has compassion on those beneath him. The title makes sense after you read it.

Nuns at St.William the Abbot school in Seaford ( class of 1975) would echo this phrase while slapping you for whatever offense you committed , and I heard it plenty. Laughed out loud at
Bill and Clems adventure at the convent. Many thanks for a great read and words of wisdom. 4 stars !

I had reservations about getting this book, but like Bill O'Reilly so much and had read his other books; so decided to get it. I'm more a mystery book type person and reading a memoir didn't sound very exciting, but I have to say I couldn't put it down. I almost felt like I was talking to Bill in person and had ask him the questions he was explaining. It explains why Bill is Bill, very good book and I would recommend it to everyone, even if Bill is not one of your favorite people. The book will remind you of someone you do know or have known in the past.

In my opinion, this book will be enjoyed regardless of one's political persuasion. While it is quite humorous, it deals, also, with serious matters, as well as Mr. O'Reilly's philosophical views. I highly recommend the book.
